Recapping SUITS LA S1E9 If there's one thing everyone can all agree on it's that Harvey Specter is a real sight for sore eyes and their eyes are a little less sore now that Harvey keeps making an appearance. The one thing they can disagree on is that, despite Harvey being truly perfect, he's wrong about one thing: winners DO, IN FACT, greet the day in Sweatpants-especially when those winners are Maggie and Amanda. As they girls recap the second to last episode of the season of this premier season of SUITS LA and the girls are really love it. They're sold. They're in it to win it. This is their official plea to NBC to renew Suits LA for season 2! Make sure to tune in to YouTube onSunday at 9:30p CST as the girls go live for the Season Finale! Well if it isn't ol' Bugs and Nana, recapping epsiode 6 of Suits LA! The girls are back and new nicknames for their present law firm. The make a pact that they will alwasy tell each other if they know someone murdered someone they are representing at their pretend law firm. They have real hot takes on the Oxford comma. Don't get Amanda worked about this one. Maggie tells Amanda she can buy ready-to-hatch chickens at Trader Joe's. Who knew? And they do have some comedic notes for Stuart: the peanut butter joke wasn't as smooth as planned. Make sure to check out onlysuitsfans.com for all things OSF!

Recapping Season 7 Epsiodes 1 & 2... What a way to kick off Season 7 with so many plot twists! In this epsiode, we learn Maggie isn't a fan of having skin in the game. Amanda was super excited to hear the name Axelrod in this episode and had no idea Maggie had her OWN Axelrod story! They both decide what foods would be impossible to compete against in a food taste-off. Dule Hill makes his debut in this episode and both girls are equally delighted for different reasons. And is Amanda really a witch? Seems unlikely, but Maggie is convinced. Stephen Suettinger directs and writes projects which address complicated themes, such as substance use, depression and unrequited love. His unique portrayals have a tendency to delve deeper into their most intimate desires, which occasionally blur the line between fiction and reality and makes for interesting storytelling. Following his debut short film, Writing Wrongs, the Maryland native attended the film MFA program at USC and cut his teeth in experiences surrounding the world of film on projects like Contact, Avatar and Beowulf. At USC, Steve directed his next short, Wentworth, which PBS picked up as part of its Imagemakers series. The film explored idealism and longing among two contemplative lovers, who are already in a state of love and comfort. He directed his first feature, A Year and Change, which was released in 2014 and starred an ensemble cast including Bryan Greenberg, T.R. Knight, Jamie Chung and Jamie Hector and was shot in his home state. In 2020, he directed the period short film, Waiting, which surveyed the patience of love in the wake of the Pandemic. In the midst of several more corporate endeavors, Steve describes the latest projects he is currently developing in our conversation, as well as his early-film experiences, the generation of Maryland filmmakers he is indefinitely part of, and working with some excellent actors and directors.Opening Credits: Jangwa - two beats I CC BY 4.0; Anitek - SuperNatural I CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. In a surprising move, Paramount has officially canceled the ambitious sci-fi series Halo after just two seasons, despite its devoted fan base and an improved second season. Despite mixed reviews and controversy over deviations from the source material, the show managed to gain traction. Girls Gone Hallmark is a weekly Hallmark movie review podcast. This week, hosts, Megan and Wendy, talk about "Round and Round" - a time loop rom-com starring Vic Michaelis and Bryan Greenberg. Don't let the time loop trope scare you off. This might be Hallmark's best movie of the 2023 Countdown to Christmas season! Tell us what your favorite Countdown to Christmas movie from 2023! Email us at meganandwendy@gmail.com and be sure to check out the 2nd Annual Girls Gone Hallmark Best Christmas Movie bracket beginning on January 6, 2024 exclusively on our Instagram. About "Round and Round" Hallmark Movie This movie was written by Tamar Lady. Tamar has just 7 previous writing credits! She wrote “Crashing Through the Snow” for Hallmark back in 2021, as well as a handful of episodes for “Pretty Little Liars,” “Hart of Dixie,” and “General Hospital: Night Shift.” Stacey N. Harding directed. She has 12 directing credits including… "AMISH STUD: The Eli Weaver Story" starring Luke Macfarlane. For Hallmark she's directed Hearts in the Game, “Love, Classified,” “Christmas Sail,” and one of the “Mystery 101” movies. Additionally, she has worked on “Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist” as First Asst. Director, a reboot of “Charmed” and, wait for it… “UnReal.” “Round and Round” was filmed east of Vancouver, BC, in a town called Maple Ridge from March through May, 2023 (according to Heavy.com) Vic Michaelis plays Rachel. She has 24 acting credits which include a lot of shorts and videos but has also been in episodes of “Bless this Mess,” “Upload,” the reboot of “Charmed” and a sketch comedy series called “CollegeHumor Originals.” Bryan Greenberg plays Zach. He's probably best known for his role as Jake on One Tree Hill but his other 47 acting credits include ABC's “October Road,” “How to Make it in America” on HBO, “The Mindy Project,” “Bride Wars,” “Friends with Benefits” and “Prime” (one of my favorite movies!). Upcoming for Bryan is a thriller he wrote, directed and starred in called “Junction” - which also stars his wife, Jamie Chung and former One Tree Hill Sophia Bush. Rick Hoffman plays Rachel's dad Stan. Hoffman has been in a lot! He has 65 acting credits including “Billions,” 134 episodes of “Suits,” “Ballers,” “Samantha Who?” and so many more. David Attar plays terrible boyfriend Adam. Now David might be the only actor who has previously been in a Hallmark movie. We've seen him in “Guiding Emily” “Field Day” “Unexpected Grace” “A Fabled Holiday” “Autumn in the City” and “Nikki & Nora: Sister Slueths. ” Related Podcast Episode: Girls Gone Hallmark reviews "Unexpected Grace," a movie that drew some controversial takes from the Facebook group! Paula Shaw plays Grandma Rosie. She has 89 other acting credits, many Hallmark movies - so David Attar isn't our only Hallmark vet. We've seen her in “Hanukkah on Rye” “Wedding of a Lifetime” “The Wedding Veil Legacy” and “It Was Always You” amongst others. At the time of recording this episode, Round and Round ranked # 26 in ratings for the Countdown to Christmas premieres, with 1.54M live viewers. Feeling Generous? “I'd always been a big fan of the written word, from childhood, in different mediums,” says Maurice Williams. “Whether it be youthful song writing or my undergraduate degree in journalism. There's just beauty in the creation, the alchemy of having nothing and then you have something, about writing.” In this case, the something from nothing is Entergalactic, an animated series about Jabari, a streetwear-clad artist on the cusp of success. The story is based on a location as much as it is a person, inspired by Kid Cudi, along with Williams, Kenya Barris, and Ian Edelman. “If I go all the way back, Maurice and I share this, which is why we make great partners, I think growing up as a TV kid, watching movies with my brother while our parents worked, I think even beyond that, it was growing up in New York City, going to public school and writing a bus and subway at a young age, you realize the greatest characters studies are in your backyard,” says Edelman. Edelman packed many of these stories in his 2010 series How to Make It in America. The HBO series followed a group of 20-somethings living in New York City, and featured Bryan Greenberg, Lake Bell, Luis Guzmán, and Kid Cudi. “I wanted to tell stories about kids I knew who were leading interesting lives that were not the conventional movie, movie. We had a different way of looking at the world.” Listen to my interview with Kenya Barris in Episode 227 of the podcast. Want more? He's easy to spot at races, wearing a flashy Maryland flag outfit, from head to toe! But he's lived in Georgia the last few decades now. We talk about running and religion on this "Run the Race" episode. (2:42) Bryan Greenberg calls his race outfits the "obnoxious and beautiful" Maryland flag, from the state where he grew up. It helps him bring the fun to 5Ks, half marathons, wherever. Hear examples of how he cheers on his fellow runners, each and every mile! What's this 46-year-old's (9:24) motivation for running? It started out with him as a "short fat kid" in school, stumbling onto the cross country team, then it was lessons from fitness boot camp. And he wants to be a healthy example to his sons, ages 8 and 12. (15:01) Lately, he's been running a half marathon every month...for about 3 years now, even injuring himself to keep the streak going. We discuss difficult marathon experiences, but his goal is to still beat Oprah Winfrey's 4:29 finish time. (23:15) At his @bryankgreenberg twitter, he also posts daily about plank and crunch challenges, knowing how important core training is. (30:07) With Passover several weeks ago, Bryan shares his Jewish traditions that really launched with his bar mitzvah at age 13 when you become a man in the eyes of God. How important is faith in his life and talking to God? He discusses that and how he's not orthodox, but follows some rules for Sabbath or Shabbat, as a "Reformed Jew." Now, he lives (40:15) in Dunwoody, GA which they have coined "RUNwoody." One of the next big races, that I'll be at too, is the Peachtree Road Race 10K in Atlanta with 60,000 other runners/walkers, where it'll be a party, especially with Bryan there wearing his Maryland flag hat, shirt, short, socks. He's also improved thanks to the hills of Georgia. (52:45) I closed out the podcast with the Lord's Prayer - which has a lot of Jewish origins - on this National Day of Prayer. Thanks for listening to the #RunTheRace podcast, which I hope you'll subscribe to! Share it with your friends. Also, write a quick review about it, on Apple podcasts. Tim with Nurse Tracy in progress Tim Okamura investigates identity, the urban environment, metaphor, and cultural iconography through a unique method of painting - one that combines an essentially ‘realist’ approach to the figure with collage, spray paint and mixed media. The juxtaposition of the rawness and urgency of street art and academic ideals has created a visual language that acknowledges a traditional form of story-telling through portraiture, while infusing the work with resonant contemporary motifs. Born in Edmonton, Canada, painter Tim Okamura earned a B.F.A. with Distinction at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Canada before moving to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts in 1991. After graduating with an M.F.A. in Illustration as Visual Journalism, Okamura moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he continues to live and work. Tim Okamura - a recipient of the 2004 Fellowship in Painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts – has exhibited extensively in galleries throughout the world, including the U.S., Canada, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Ecuador and Turkey, and has been selected nine times to appear in the prestigious BP Portrait Award Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England. In 2006, Okamura was short-listed by the Royal Surveyor of the Queen’s Picture Collection for a commissioned portrait of the Queen of England. In 2013, the University of North Carolina hosted a retrospective exhibition of Okamura’s work that focused on nearly a decade of production. Okamura received an invitation to The White House in the Fall of 2015 to honor artists whose work addresses issues of social justice – there he received a letter of commendation from Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. Okamura’s painting titled “I Love Your Hair” was selected in 2016 for inclusion in the “American Portraiture Today” exhibition, featured at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. and subsequently toured museums across the United States. Several of Okamura’s works were recently featured in the “Still I Rise” exhibition at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Tim Okamura’s art is on display in the permanent collections of the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, Jiménez Colón Museum in Puerto Rico, The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History at the University of North Carolina, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Toronto Congress Center, the Hotel Arts in Calgary, Canada, and Standard Chartered Bank in London, England. Collectors include Uma Thurman, Meg Ryan, John Mellencamp, DJ Black Coffee, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, athletes Courtney Lee and PK Subban, director Ben Younger, and actors Bryan Greenberg, Hill Harper, Annabella Sciorra, and Spike Lee. In an interview conducted the week of March 11th for Theme Park Thursday with @DillosDiz, A. Ali Flores discusses his 20+ year career as one of the most recognized Central Florida entertainers. Ali's passion for standup comedy began when he started doing audience warm-up for shows like Double Dare 2000, NBA All-Star Jam, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Fox Family's Summer Jam and, most recently, Family Feud with Steve Harvey. . His uniquely energetic show will have you laughing from start to finish. His instantly likable personality and his comedic routine is relatable to everyone. From subjects of race to sports to being a single dad he turns your real life (or rather his and those he comes in contact with) into side splitting, sometimes embarrassing, humor! You may have seen him in the ABC Family movie “My Future Boyfriend” or any of his many commercials. He just completed shooting the film “Random Tropical Paradise” starring Joe Pantoliano, Bryan Greenberg and Brooks Wheelan, the film “Naked” starring Marlon Wayans and an episode of “Good Behavior” set to air this fall on TNT.

After a transformative trip to India during college, Michael Maren realized that in order to feel fully alive, he had to go back overseas. He joined the Peace Corps after graduating and a series of chance events led him to Kenya, where he stayed for the next five years, teaching English, Physics, and Swahili at a local secondary school, and he later worked as an aid worker in both Kenya and Somalia. After returning to the States for graduate school, Maren eventually became a war correspondent. From Uganda during the overthrow of Idi Amin in 1979 to Somalia during the height of the Somali Civil War in the early ‘90s, Maren has lived and worked in some of the dangerous places and situations on the planet. In our latest episode, Katy travels to Positano on the Amalfi Coast, where she met up with Michael and interviewed him about his experiences covering conflict across the African continent. They discuss the trap of expat privilege, the negative effects of foreign aid on developing countries, and the delusions many war correspondents have that they are special enough to survive. Maren is now an author and screenwriter. His book The Road to Hell explains how misguided foreign aid, charity, development assistance, and food relief in developing countries have propagated a culture of destructive dependency that damages the local economy and promotes corruption. He also wrote and produced the film A Short History of Decay starring Bryan Greenberg and Linda Lavin, is currently working on a new film, Shriver. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPONSOR THE SHOW: Reach expats, future expats, and travelers all over the world. Bryan can be found at the Nile Theater (Mesa), in addition to most recently just getting off Warped Tour with Fit For A King. We discuss everything from Warped to working at the Nile, getting stuck in the snow, microphones in the studio vs. live, mixing bigger shows and the progression to where he's at now. It was a pleasure! http://www.niletheater.com/ https://blanklook.bandcamp.com/ SUBSCRIBE ON ITUNES: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/arizona-music-podcast/id1249045432?mt=2
It’s the forty-fourth episode of On The List with Brett Gursky. This week’s guest Bryan Greenberg (“The Mindy Project”) talks all about his career as an actor. A circus parade is traveling down Main Street in a small town. At the back is an old man whose job it is to shovel the manure from all the circus animals into a big bag slung over his shoulder. A passer-by asks him how long he's been doing the job and how much he gets paid, to which he replies 50 years and $250 a week. "Well why on earth don't you stop doing it and find a better job instead?" asks the passer-by. The old man replies, "What, and give up show business?" The great Gordon Hunt, a wonderful acting teacher and casting director, encouraged his students to think of every audition as a chance to act on a Tuesday. There are times when I am able to do that and times when it feels like an exercise in futility but his words have always stayed with me. And even though more often than not the audition doesn't turn into the job, when I looked at the alternative of another career - perhaps one with more emotional and financial stability - my answer would be, "What, and give up show business?!" So how do we actors do it? How do we leave the audition room feeling humiliated and get up the next day and do it again? Listen to famous actors like Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Dan Folger, Connie Schulman, Bryan Greenberg, Aasif Mandvi, John Slattery, Roger Bart, Noah Emmerich and Mary Stuart Masterson share hilarious and inspiring stories from the audition trenches.
