Richard Allen's appeal makes a stunning allegation: the search warrant that launched the entire Delphi case was built on misrepresentations. In 2017, witness Sarah Carbaugh told police she saw a man walking down the road wearing a tan jacket. He was muddy. In 2022, Detective Tony Liggett swore under oath that Carbaugh described the man as wearing a blue jacket - and that he was muddy and bloody. Tan became blue. Muddy became muddy and bloody. According to the defense, that's not a mistake. That's allegedly altering a witness statement to fit a narrative. But it doesn't stop there. Betsy Blair - the eyewitness who saw a man on the High Bridge platform - gave a detailed description three days after the murders. Young, early twenties, medium build, brown poofy hair. She rated her sketch ten out of ten for accuracy. Richard Allen was 44 with short hair. He looks nothing like that sketch. The jury never saw it. And according to the appeal, Liggett never told the judge about it either. Blair also told Liggett directly that she and Carbaugh saw two different people. The Indiana State Police agreed - they issued a press release in 2019 saying explicitly they were "not the same person." Then Allen gets arrested and suddenly they're the same guy. The car descriptions don't match Allen's vehicle either. Blair described sharp angles, not black. Wilson described a purple PT Cruiser. Allen drove a black Ford Focus hatchback. Without this warrant, no search. Without the search, no gun. Without the gun, no bullet match. Without the bullet match, no arrest. Without the arrest, no solitary. Without solitary, no confessions. The entire case flows from this document. This episode breaks down every alleged misrepresentation in Detective Liggett's affidavit and why the defense is arguing the warrant should never have been signed. #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #RichardAllenAppeal #DelphiCase #AbbyAndLibby #Delphi #TrueCrime #BridgeGuy #DelphiWarrant #JusticeForAbbyAndLibby Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? It's well-documented that our courts system is in crisis but following an investigation, The Standard can reveal that magistrates are sitting in secret to allow utility companies to break into people's homes, granting warrants based on applications they have never seen.Back in late 2022, energy firms and courts were rocked by scandal when it was revealed that hundreds of thousands of warrants – including for the homes of some of Britain's poorest people – were being “waved through” by magistrates. The government promised a clean-up and new court process, but a year-long probe by The Standard has uncovered disturbing practices - and the Chief Magistrate is investigating the concerns. How To Calculate Warrant Coverage Hello, this is Hall T. Martin with the Startup Funding Espresso -- your daily shot of startup funding and investing. A warrant is the right to buy a company's stock at a specific price or range over a certain time period. The warrant acts like an option, but it issues stock, which dilutes the cap table. Founders raising funding offer warrants to incentivize investors to fund the company. Warrant coverage is the number of warrants an investor receives based on the size of their investment. It's typically stated as a percentage such as 5% or 10%. Here's how to calculate warrant coverage: Take the number of shares at a specific price per share as the initial investment. Take the number of shares to be provided as warrants. Divide the number of warrants by the number of shares of the initial investment to reach a warrant coverage amount. Here's an example. The founder offers 50,000 additional shares to those who invest in 500,000 shares at $3 per share. The warrant coverage is 50,000 divided by 500,000 at $3 per share, generating a 10% warrant coverage. Consider these calculations in offering warrants in your fundraiser. Thank you for joining us for the Startup Funding Espresso where we help startups and investors connect for funding. Let's go startup something today. _______________________________________________________ For more episodes from Investor Connect, please visit the site at: http://investorconnect.org Check out our other podcasts here: https://investorconnect.org/ For Investors check out: https://tencapital.group/investor-landing/ For Startups check out: https://tencapital.group/company-landing/ For eGuides check out: https://tencapital.group/education/ For upcoming Events, check out https://tencapital.group/events/ For Feedback please contact info@tencapital.group Please follow, share, and leave a review. It's Friday, December 19th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Christian prisoners released in Eritrea but many more remain without charges Several Christians in Eritrea, Africa were among a group of prisoners recently released, possibly because of poor health. However, seven church leaders remain in detention after two decades without a charge or a trial, reports the Christian Post. Open Doors noted this week that the release appeared to include believers, businesspeople, and politicians. The names of those freed have not been made public, but the group confirmed that none of the seven church leaders it has advocated for, over the years, were among them. The leaders have each been detained for more than 20 years without legal proceedings. In addition, Open Doors said they have not been permitted to see family members, have access to a lawyer, or appear before a court. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” In national address, Trump says prices coming down In an 18-minute speech from the White House on Wednesday night, President Donald Trump discussed the economy. (Read the transcript here) TRUMP: “Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I'm fixing it. When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say, in the history of our country, which caused prices to be higher than ever before, making life unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans. This happened during a Democrat administration, and it's when we first began hearing the word affordability.” He addressed the falling cost of goods and services since he took office in January of this year. TRUMP: “I am bringing those high prices down and bringing them down very fast. Let's look at the facts. Under the Biden administration, car prices rose 22% and in many states 30% or more. Gasoline rose 30 to 50%. Hotel rates rose 37%. Airfares rose 31%. “Now, under our leadership, they are all coming down and coming down fast. Democrat politicians also sent the cost of grocery soaring, but we are solving that too. The price of a Thanksgiving turkey was down 33% compared to the Biden last year. The price of eggs is down 82% since March, and everything else is falling rapidly.” Arrest warrant issued for Brown University shooter Authorities have reportedly issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the Brown University mass shooting that occurred last week in Providence, Rhode Island, and are investigating a potential link between the school massacre and the murder of an MIT professor, reports The Western Journal. Just two days after the Brown shooting occurred, Nuno Loureiro, who taught plasma physics at MIT, was shot at his home Monday in Brookline, Massachusetts. He later died of his injuries. During the shooting at Brown, two students were killed and nine others were wounded after the gunman opened fire Saturday afternoon inside a campus classroom during final exams. The male suspect, who is 5'8” with a stocky build, escaped from the building. Army officer once ousted by COVID shot mandate now leads reintegration efforts On October 2, 2025, U.S. Army Colonel Kevin Bouren was administered the oath of office by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, formally returning Bouren to active duty. The event concluded his three-year separation from the Army, a period initiated by the Department of Defense's 2021 COVID-19 shot mandate, reports the U.S. Army's Communication Office. Bouren, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an officer with multiple advanced degrees, had a promising career trajectory that included an assignment to the Joint Staff. In 2021, his military service was interrupted after his request for a medical exemption from the COVID shot mandate was denied. During his time away from the Army, Bouren made an unlikely career move. He began working in Christian filmmaking as a co-producer and co-founder of Set Shepherds, managing logistics for films he worked on, while also mentoring the cast and crew as a chaplain. It allowed him to apply his leadership experience in a non-military context while integrating his Christian faith. Bouren said, “As the set chaplain, getting to lead morning devotionals and minister to the cast and crew was wonderful.” In early 2025, when the call for COVID reinstatements came, he said, "God called me to military service, and there was nothing that was going to get between me and going back in the Army. I felt like I had a lot left to offer." After his formal return, Bouren was designated the Army's COVID Reinstatement Task Force Lead. He said, “Our warriors of conscience shouldn't have to navigate this alone. We're here to … support them through every step … after they were “unlawfully separated.” Chick-fil-A embraces and celebrates homosexual marriage And finally, Christian leaders say Chick-fil-A has waffled on homosexual faux marriage and diversity, equity and inclusion policies, reports Christian talk show host Todd Starnes. More than a decade ago, Christians across the nation rallied to defend the beloved fast-food restaurant chain after homosexual faux marriage activists declared war. They tried to put Chick-fil-A out of business after Dan Cathy, the son of founder Truett Cathy said in 2012 that marriage is between one man and one woman. Sadly, there's been a cultural shift at Chick-fil-A. An Orem, Utah Chick-fil-A franchise recently posted photos on its Facebook page celebrating the faux homosexual marriage of two men complete with photos of the gushing grooms. Leviticus 18:22 says, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” Family Research Council called out Chick-fil-A accusing the company of duplicity. In a column in The Washington Stand, they wrote, “More than anything, what should frustrate loyal customers is that — unlike the secular corporations that promoted this agenda for decades without apology — Chick-fil-A built a business model based almost entirely on faith. And frankly, that means they should be held to a higher standard. Yes, there are local operators with diverse objectives and opinions, but for the sake of the company's broader character, those individual franchises should be held to a moral code that reflects Chick-fil-A's stated beliefs. At the very least, the vice president of DEI should be reassigned to support the Cathys' original mission, and the cancer of diversity, equity, and inclusion should be eradicated from headquarters.” The Family Research Council added, “Unlike Target or Anheuser-Busch, this company intentionally made religion a part of the chain's identity. So, it's a point of legitimate hurt and disappointment that [Chick-fil-A] keeps profiting from its Christian reputation, only to turn around and sell out those same values. Americans expect that from Nike. They expect it from Starbucks. They believed Chick-fil-A was different — and they continue to be wrong.” In recent years, Chick-fil-A stopped donating to the Salvation Army and to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes after pressure from the far-left. They also funneled $230,000 to Covenant House, an organization that hosts Drag Queen Story Hours. Conservatives were in disbelief — so much so that The Federalist felt the need to spell it out in a headline that read: “Yes, Chick-fil-A Really Is Funding a Group that Hosts Drag Queen Story Hours.” And Chick-fil-A ruffled lots of feathers when they hired a vice president of DEI. Christian talk show host Todd Starnes  said, “Traditional values have been taken off the menu at Chick-fil-A – just like the chicken salad sandwich and coleslaw.” Send your letter of objection to Susannah Frost, Chick-fil-A President, 5200 Buffington Road, College Park, GA 30349.  You can reach Chick-fil-A online through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com, and by calling Chick-fil-A between 9:00am and 10:00pm ET, Monday through Saturday, at 866-232-2040.. On April 20th, 1999, two seniors walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado and committed what was then the deadliest school shooting in American history. Thirteen innocent people lost their lives that day, and the images of terrified students fleeing with their hands raised became seared into America's collective memory. The mainstream narrative has been told countless times, dissected in documentaries, and dramatized in films. But that narrative, the one carefully curated and presented to the public for over twenty five years, is incomplete. In some cases, it's outright false. In this episode of The Redacted Report, we pull back the curtain on one of the most scrutinized yet poorly understood tragedies in modern American history. This isn't speculation or conspiracy theory. This is documented fact drawn from official reports released years after the shooting, from lawsuits that forced the disclosure of buried evidence, from investigative journalists who spent years digging through the wreckage of a botched investigation, and from the families of victims who refused to accept the official story. We begin more than a year before the shooting, when a mother in Littleton discovered a website that chilled her to the bone. Eric Harris wasn't just posting the typical angst of a disaffected teenager. He was posting detailed bomb-making instructions, writing about his desire to kill, and making specific death threats against named individuals. When that mother and her husband went to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office with printouts and documentation, a deputy took the complaint seriously enough to draft a search warrant for the Harris residence. Had that warrant been executed, investigators would have found pipe bombs and detailed journals planning a massacre. But the warrant was never executed. It was drafted, reviewed, and then it disappeared into the bureaucratic void. For years after the shooting, officials denied it ever existed. They were lying. We examine the catastrophic failures of law enforcement on the day of the shooting, focusing on the tragic death of teacher Dave Sanders. Shot at approximately 11:26 in the morning, Sanders was dragged into a science classroom where students put a sign in the window reading "1 bleeding to death" and called 911. They were told help was coming. But SWAT teams didn't reach that classroom until approximately 3:00 in the afternoon. For three and a half hours, a wounded man lay bleeding while hundreds of law enforcement officers stood outside the building following protocols designed for situations completely unlike what they were facing. Sanders died from wounds that might have been survivable with prompt medical attention. We delve into the infamous basement tapes, the recordings Harris and Klebold made in the weeks before the shooting that were viewed by select officials but hidden from the public for over a decade before being destroyed in 2011. Those tapes reportedly contained statements about who knew about the killers' plans, where they obtained their weapons, and admissions that would have raised serious questions about whether others should have faced charges. Whatever was on those recordings is gone forever, destroyed by officials who claimed they were acting on mental health advice but who had already demonstrated a pattern of concealing their own failures. We dismantle the myths that the media created in the aftermath of the tragedy. The Trench Coat Mafia narrative that led to a nationwide crackdown on goth fashion and industrial music. The bullying explanation that provided a comforting but largely inaccurate cause for the violence. The story of Cassie Bernall, the alleged Christian martyr who said yes when asked if she believed in God, a powerful story that became a rallying cry for evangelical Christians but that the evidence suggests probably didn't happen the way it was told. These myths served various agendas, but they were largely wrong, and they prevented a more accurate understanding of what actually occurred. We explore the fact that the shooting was supposed to be the sideshow. Harris and Klebold built ninety nine improvised explosive devices, including two twenty pound propane bombs placed in the cafeteria and timed to detonate during the busiest lunch period. If those bombs had worked, the death toll wouldn't have been thirteen. It would have been in the hundreds. The massacre we remember was their backup plan, what they did when their primary plan failed. This level of premeditation demolishes the narrative of bullied kids who snapped and raises serious questions about how two teenagers could build a small arsenal without anyone noticing. We document the systematic cover up that followed the shooting. The draft search warrant that officials claimed didn't exist until it was discovered years later. The files that were sealed. The deputies who were instructed not to discuss their prior investigations. The sheriff who called grieving parents liars when they tried to tell the truth. The district attorney who never convened a grand jury. The evidence that was destroyed. The officials who retired with their pensions intact while no one was ever held accountable. We examine the controversial question of Eric Harris's psychiatric medication and what role, if any, it may have played in his violence. We explore what this case reveals about the limitations of mental health treatment and the ability of skilled manipulators to fool therapists, counselors, and parents alike. And we consider the legacy of Columbine more than twenty five years later. The lessons that were learned and the lessons that weren't. The reforms that were implemented and the reforms that should have been. The patterns of institutional failure and cover up that we've seen repeated in tragedy after tragedy since that April morning in 1999. Thirteen people died at Columbine High School. They were Cassie Bernall, Steven Curnow, Corey DePooter, Kelly Fleming, Matthew Kechter, Daniel Mauser, Daniel Rohrbough, Rachel Scott, Isaiah Shoels, John Tomlin, Lauren Townsend, Kyle Velasquez, and Dave Sanders. They deserved better from the people who were supposed to protect them. They deserved the truth. And they deserved to be remembered not as symbols or martyrs or victims of a myth, but as real people whose lives were cut short by violence that might have been prevented. This is The Redacted Report. The truth is out there, even when they don't want you to find it.

Missing Child Summer Wells: Former FBI Agent Explains the Warrant Process

Nearly four years after five-year-old Summer Wells vanished from her home in rural Tennessee, the case remains one of the most haunting missing person investigations in recent true crime history. In November, federal and state authorities quietly returned to the field, conducting a new search roughly nine miles from where Summer was last seen on the 3500 block of Van Hill Road. The renewed activity involved the FBI, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office, immediately raising questions about what prompted investigators to act again after so much time.  According to a former FBI agent familiar with how these cases operate, the Bureau has been involved in the Summer Wells investigation since the early days under what is known as a police cooperation case, a formal partnership that allows federal resources to support local law enforcement when needed. In this instance, a tip reportedly triggered the search, and while every tip is logged and reviewed, the decision to deploy specialized teams and heavy resources suggests investigators believed the information warranted serious attention.  Reports from the area described excavation and the movement of dirt, fueling intense public interest and speculation, though authorities have not confirmed what, if anything, was found. Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer explains that searches of this scale are not conducted lightly and typically require either a search warrant supported by probable cause or legally documented consent. Warrants, she notes, are preferred in complex cases because they protect the integrity of any evidence recovered and withstand scrutiny in court.  Despite public curiosity, law enforcement rarely discloses the outcome of such searches, especially in an active missing child investigation, leaving families and communities suspended between hope and fear. The Summer Wells case continues to be defined by unanswered questions, red flags, and the unwavering effort to uncover the truth. As investigators follow every credible lead, this latest search underscores a sobering reality in true crime and breaking news alike: authorities have not given up on finding answers about what happened to Summer Wells. #SummerWells #MissingPerson #TrueCrime #BreakingNews #FBIInvestigation #ChildAbduction #UnsolvedCases #JusticeForSummer #TennesseeCrime #ColdCase Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In Ada County Case No. CR01-24-31665, Defendant Bryan Kohberger filed motions to suppress evidence obtained through search warrants directed at AT&T, Google, USB devices, Apple, and Amazon. The defense argued that these warrants were invalid, alleging they were based on information gathered through unconstitutional methods, including the use of Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG), and that the affidavits supporting the warrants contained intentional or reckless omissions of material facts. They contended that the evidence obtained from these warrants violated Kohberger's Fourth Amendment rights and should therefore be excluded from trial. However, the court denied these suppression motions, ruling that the search warrants were lawfully issued and executed. The judge found that the affidavits provided sufficient probable cause and that the methods employed, including the use of IGG, did not violate constitutional protections. Additionally, the court determined that there was no evidence of intentional or reckless falsehoods or omissions in the affidavits that would warrant a Franks hearing. In this week’s Crime Roundup, Sheryl McCollum and Joshua Schiffer Break down the federal hearing surrounding Luigi Mangione, the suspect accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December of 2024. What began as a five-day manhunt has become a master class in what not to do, with missed warrants, coached testimony, and evidence on the verge of being thrown out. Sheryl and Joshua examine how procedural missteps could weaken a potential death penalty case and why “get a warrant” isn't just good advice; it's the foundation of justice. They then turned their attention to Massachusetts, where the trial of Brian Walshe, who is accused of killing and dismembering his wife, reveals how arrogance, lies, and a trail of Google searches can expose a killer's truth. Meanwhile, Pete Hegseth's Signalgate drama is heating up: an inspector general report says he put troops at risk, and Rep. Shri Thanedar is already drafting impeachment articles over both that and the whole “blow up random boats” era. Trump surprised literally everyone — including GOP leadership — by pardoning Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, who was awaiting trial for allegedly taking $600k in foreign bribes. And the administration announced a pause on immigration applications from 19 “high-risk” countries, with no timeline for resuming them, while a judge ruled that ICE actually does need warrants to arrest people in DC. Trump also claimed Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff had a “very good” meeting with Putin on a Ukraine peace plan (sure), as European leaders slammed Putin for wasting everyone's time. And in a peak bit of irony, the former U.S. Institute of Peace has now been renamed the Donald J. TGF 067 Kathryn Johnston: The Redacted Report

True Crime Odyssey

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 28, 2025 60:29 Transcription Available

In this deeply personal and explosive episode of The Redacted Report, Brian — a former Atlanta police officer with sixteen years on the job — breaks his silence about one of the most devastating and shameful incidents in modern APD history. On November 21, 2006, ninety-two-year-old Kathryn Johnston was shot and killed in her own home during a botched narcotics raid that ultimately exposed systemic corruption inside the Atlanta Police Department.Brian goes beyond the early headlines and the department's initial story — the one that falsely portrayed Johnston as a drug dealer who fired first — and lays out what really happened: a chain of lies, planted evidence, and institutional pressure. Three narcotics officers fabricated a warrant, forced entry into Johnston's home, and opened fire after she fired a single warning shot in self-defense. She was struck thirty-nine times. While she lay dying on her living room floor, the officers attempted to manufacture justification for what they had done. Officers Jason Smith, Gregg Junnier, and Arthur Tesler later pleaded guilty to federal civil rights violations and received prison sentences of five to ten years — but as Brian explains, they were not the lone villains. They were the predictable outcome of a system engineered to produce tragedies like this.Drawing from his own experience, Brian exposes the department's crushing quota-driven “productivity points” system. Officers were expected to earn seven points per day: an arrest counted as five points, while answering a call for service counted as only a quarter point. In practice, that meant an officer could respond to twenty-eight community calls and still fall short — or make two arrests, even questionable ones, and exceed expectations. The episode also highlights how confidential informant Alex White became an unlikely catalyst for the truth. Refusing to carry the cover-up forward, White contacted federal authorities and exposed the conspiracy — a decision that put his life in danger and ultimately forced him into witness protection. The resulting federal investigation uncovered a broader pattern of corruption: officers lying on warrant applications, planting drugs saved from prior arrests, inventing “informants” who didn't exist, and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from seizures. One of the most damning revelations is what didn't happen after the convictions. Brian details how the three officers went to prison, but the supervisors who shaped and enforced the quota culture faced no real consequences. Sergeant Wilbert Stallings kept his rank and pension. Lieutenant Mark Pratt retired with full benefits. Captain Dennis O'Brien was promoted just six months after the shooting. The reforms that followed, Brian argues, were largely cosmetic — the quota system was rebranded, not removed, and pressure to generate arrests only intensified as the department tried to repair its image through statistics.Brian also shares the quieter, untold casualties of the same machinery — people whose lives were shattered without ever making the news: Fabian Sheats, who served three years on planted evidence; Frances Thompson, whose family was torn apart by a false raid; and Marcus Williams, whose education and future were derailed by fabricated drug charges. Their stories never sparked investigations. They never received justice. They were simply collateral damage. The episode ends with Brian's personal reckoning. He acknowledges that while he never planted evidence or pulled the trigger on an innocent person, his compliance and silence made him part of the machine that killed Kathryn Johnston. He reflects on the brutal irony that Johnston — born in 1914, a woman who survived Jim Crow, the Great Depression, two World Wars, and the Civil Rights Movement — was ultimately killed at ninety-two by officers chasing a daily quota. This is not just a story about three corrupt cops or one horrific night in Atlanta. It's an indictment of a nationwide policing model that rewards numbers over humanity, treats poor communities like occupied territory, and enables predictable, preventable tragedies while the architects of the system retire with full pensions. The Kathryn Johnston case briefly pulled the curtain back — but as Brian warns, nothing fundamental has changed. There will be more Kathryn Johnstons until the structure itself is confronted. The Redacted Report is both confession and call to action. Brian challenges listeners to demand reforms with teeth: an end to arrest quotas in any form, independent oversight with real authority, accountability for supervisors and policy-makers — not just street-level officers — and the demilitarization of narcotics policing.Until those changes happen, he argues, we are all living inside a system that can turn any home into a crime scene and any innocent person into a casualty of the war on drugs. This is investigative storytelling at its rawest — told by someone who lived inside the culture, understands how the damage is manufactured, and can no longer stay silent about the redacted truth behind one of American law enforcement's darkest moments.

If you want to understand how accredited investing really works, this educational episode is the perfect starting point. Wealthion's Mario Rodriguez sits down with Trey Reik to break down the three essential concepts behind private placements: 1. Who qualifies as an accredited investor, 2. How private placements raise capital outside public markets, and 3. How warrants function as long-dated options often used in mining and real-asset financing. Trey also explains the background and heritage of SCP Resource Finance, formerly Sprott Capital Partners, and why its decades-long experience in real assets finance matters as Wealthion's parent company, GBI, and SCP await FINRA approval for their U.S. broker-dealer, SCP Real Assets. Note: No securities are being offered in this video. This is pure education, designed to help viewers understand the structure, risks, and potential benefits of accredited investing and private placements.
