Join Dr. Jill Carnahan and special guest Ruby Tischoff as they uncover the Role of Galectin-3 in Breakthrough Strategies for Mold and Environmental Illness! Galectin-3 is a protein that has garnered attention for its involvement in various pathological conditions, including inflammatory cascades, hyperactivation, and fibrosis. Dr. Jill Carnahan and guest Ruby Tischoff will explain how targeting Galectin-3 can be a game-changer for individuals suffering from mold illness and other environmental sensitivities. Key Points  ✅ Galectin-3 as a Central Driver of Chronic Inflammation and Toxic Load: Ruby explained how galectin-3 acts as a pro-inflammatory lectin that contributes to chronic illness by promoting fibrosis, immune dysregulation, and cellular "trapping" of toxins like mycotoxins and lipopolysaccharides (LPS). It also facilitates pathogen persistence through biofilm formation and immune evasion, making it a critical target in addressing environmental illness. ✅ Modified Citrus Pectin (PectiSol) as a Clinically Studied Galectin-3 Blocker: The conversation highlighted how PectiSol binds and inhibits galectin-3, disrupting its pathological effects while enhancing cellular communication, immune modulation, and safe detoxification. Peer-reviewed research supports its efficacy in reducing toxic body burden, preventing biofilm-associated infections, and improving outcomes in fibrotic and oncologic conditions. ✅ Supporting Sensitive Patients through Gentle, Targeted Detox: Discussed the importance of tailoring detoxification protocols for environmentally sensitive individuals. Ruby emphasized that by lowering galectin-3, PectiSol helps reduce inflammatory cascades, Herxheimer reactions, and immune hyperactivation, thereby allowing for a more gradual and well-tolerated detoxification process. Ruby Tischoff, FDN-P Ruby Tischoff, FDN-P is a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner and natural health expert with over 25 years of experience in integrative medicine and nutraceutical science. Ruby has worked closely under the clinical mentorship of renowned physician Isaac Eliaz, MD, and is a recognized expert in the fields of galectin-3 research and therapeutic targeting, safe detoxification, and nutritional science, among other areas. His patients weren't getting better; in fact, they were getting worse. After driving the same people to the hospital repeatedly, and watching most of them get sicker or die, he left Paramedics and went into personal training. After working with hundreds of clients, he realized that the common denominator for his clients' health issues, including skin issues, brittle hair, hormones, weight loss resistance, etc., was related to nutrition, gut health and stress. Josh went back to school and became a Holistic Nutritionist and specialized in gut health. He had numerous clients who were getting relief, but he quickly realized the extent of digestive issues with his clients who were living confined to their houses, with up to 50 bowel movements a day, crippling pain and brain fog, who were afraid to leave their house for fear of having accidents. He warns about misleading hydrogen products, particularly hydrogen tablets, which may contain harmful compounds and alter water's pH in undesirable ways.Despite promising results and increasing research, molecular hydrogen therapy remains relatively unknown in mainstream healthcare. Greg noted that Japan has integrated hydrogen therapy into medical practice, while in the U.S., financial interests and misinformation may be slowing its adoption. Hydrogen is significantly smaller than other antioxidants, allowing it to reach deep into the mitochondria and every part of the body where other antioxidants cannot. This makes it particularly effective in combating oxidative stress linked to inflammation and various diseases.QUOTES:(11:08) “It's important to use hydrogen properly because it needs to be safe, but you want it to be effective. So we want it to work.” Greg the Hydrogen Man(21:41) “We don't realize the value of our health until it's jeopardized. Right? And then we realize how little these other things matter.” Jenn Trepeck(36:27) “They put hydrogen there because they had already seen that it was having a positive effect on all these medical conditions.” Greg the Hydrogen Man(37:26) “Inflammation is essentially the source of all sickness, illness, disease. It is oxidative stress, like the rusting of our insides.” Jenn Trepeck(40:04) “Hydrogen is the most abundant element.” Jenn Trepeck(48:51) “When we can increase the nutrient density and the way nutrients reach the different body parts, there's so much possibility.” Jenn TrepeckRESOURCES:Become A Member of Salad with a Side of FriesJenn's Free Menu PlanA Salad With a Side of FriesA Salad With A Side Of Fries MerchA Salad With a Side of Fries InstagramBiostack Over BiohackBecome a Member to Receive 10% Discount off H2 TabsNutrition Nugget: AntioxidantsWhat's Your Biological AgeGUEST RESOURCES:Uprising144K Hydrogen Man - PodcastGreg Hman - InstagramHoly Hydrogen Machine - WebsiteMy Pure Water - Carbon Distiller - WebsiteGUEST BIOGRAPHY: Greg the Hydrogen Man is a molecular hydrogen therapy specialist, researcher, and host of the popular YouTube channel Uprising144K. 60: Why supporting your horse's adrenal glands is essential for good health and longevity

The adrenal glands play a crucial role in keeping horses healthy and resilient. My recent hands-on experience with horse dissections highlighted the importance of the adrenal glands for metabolism, hormone regulation, and stress response in horses. When horse owners learn how the adrenal glands work and how chronic stress affects them, they can become far more effective in supporting the health and well-being of their horses. The Role of the Adrenal GlandsThe adrenal glands produce cortisol, ACTH, and DHEA, which regulate energy, influence immune function, and affect the overall hormone balance in horses. Horses are prey animals, so they tend to be on high alert. That means their adrenal glands are often working overtime. When a horse is under constant stress from its environment, emotions, or physical strain, it can lead to adrenal fatigue, affecting everything from metabolism to immune function.Hormonal Imbalances and Their EffectsHorses with metabolic issues like PPID or insulin resistance often have adrenal dysfunction. High cortisol levels can lead to tissue breakdown, slow healing, and weaken the immune system. The adrenals also play a role in sex hormone production, as DHEA influences testosterone and estrogen levels. So adrenal health can affect everything, including the reproductive cycle of mares and the hormone balance of geldings. Understanding those connections helps horse owners make better health decisions. The Impact of Chronic Inflammation and StressMany horses deal with low-grade inflammation from environmental toxins, poor diet, or chronic illness. With those issues, the adrenal glands keep pumping out cortisol, which, over time, can wear them out. When adrenal function drops, the pituitary gland produces more ACTH, which can contribute to metabolic disorders. To manage that, owners must reduce external stressors, like inadequate stable conditions and poor handling techniques, and internal stressors, such as diet and gut health.Nutritional and Holistic SupportSupporting adrenal health in horses requires a combination of proper nutrition, stress reduction, and careful hormone management. Horses naturally produce vitamin C, but in times of stress, they may require supplementation. Other vital nutrients include minerals that help regulate adrenal function. Maintaining a balanced diet that promotes gut health can also reduce overall stress on the body, and providing horses with an environment that meets their instinctual needs for freedom, forage, and friendship is vital for reducing chronic stress.Recognizing the Signs and Taking ActionAs research into equine adrenal health progresses, more vets and equine professionals recognize the signs of adrenal insufficiency. Symptoms like persistent fatigue, poor coat quality, muscle wasting, and metabolic imbalances can indicate underlying adrenal stress. By taking a proactive approach to adrenal support through dietary improvements, environmental enrichment, and holistic care, owners can help prevent long-term health complications in their horses.Links and resources:Connect with Elisha Edwards on her website Join my email list to be notified about new podcast releases and upcoming webinars.Free Webinar Masterclass: Four Steps to Solving Equine Metabolic Syndrome NaturallyRegister for Resolving Equine Metabolic...

Welcome to the Triple P Life Podcast! In this episode, Dr. Jay LaGuardia delves into the alarming rise of metabolic syndrome and its devastating impact on cellular health, hormonal balance, and overall well-being. We explore the complex factors contributing to this epidemic, including dietary changes, environmental toxins, and the down-regulation of our metabolic rates. The host challenges conventional wisdom about calorie restriction and exercise, highlighting the crucial role of basal metabolic rate and the detrimental effects of polyunsaturated fats. Dr. Jay outlines the seven key dysfunctions caused by metabolic insufficiency and offers practical, actionable strategies for reversing this trend, emphasizing the importance of nutrition, exercise, sleep, and targeted supplementation.   Episode Takeaways: Metabolic syndrome (affecting 80% of adults) drastically raises the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Key signs: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure/sugar/triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol. Obesity's rise isn't just calories or inactivity; declining BMR (calories burned at rest) is crucial. This is linked to more PUFA consumption and environmental toxins. Metabolic insufficiency causes 7 key problems: mitochondrial dysfunction, insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, lipotoxicity, glycation, hormonal disruption, and autophagy suppression. These fuel fatigue, weight gain, disease risk, aging, and imbalances. Reversal needs a holistic approach: time-restricted eating, prioritizing protein/healthy fats, managing carbs, regular exercise (zone 2 & HIIT), cold/sauna, and hormone balance. Genes aren't destiny. Lifestyle heavily influences gene expression.
