Algernon Health CEO Christopher Moreau joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce that the company has entered into a significant strategic business and investment agreement with American Molecular Imaging, one of the premier radiology reading services providers in the United States. The partnership is designed to ensure that every patient visiting Algernon's planned U.S. brain-focused neuroimaging clinics receives top-tier PET scan interpretations delivered with unmatched accuracy and turnaround times. Moreau explained that Algernon's planned clinic network will introduce the first dedicated, brain-optimized PET neuroimaging centers in the United States, facilities engineered to detect early signs of Alzheimer's disease with exceptional precision. In addition to Alzheimer's diagnostics, the clinics will offer advanced PET imaging for a broad range of neurological conditions, including other dementias, epilepsy, neuro-oncology indications, and movement disorders. Under the terms of the new partnership, AMI will become the exclusive radiology reading services provider for all of Algernon's future neuroimaging clinics. To further strengthen the collaboration, AMI will make a US$250,000 strategic investment in Algernon's recently announced private placement, and an additional US$250,000 investment into Algernon USA LLC—the company's newly formed subsidiary tasked with overseeing all U.S. neuroimaging operations. Algernon USA LLC is leading efforts to open the first clinic, currently targeted for early 2026. Moreau also highlighted another key milestone: Algernon has finalized an equipment order, financing package, and consulting agreement with Catalyst MedTech, a recognized leader in medical imaging technologies. This non-dilutive arrangement, valued at over CAD $4 million, includes four FDA-cleared Oncovision CareMiBrain™ PET scanner systems that will equip the first wave of Algernon's U.S. clinics. The deal also provides for the acquisition of six additional systems at a reduced cost as the company expands its footprint across the country. #proactiveinvestors #algernonpharmaceuticalsinc #cse #agn #otcqb #agnpf #alzheimerdisease #demetia #AlgernonHealth #AlzheimersDiagnosis #PETScan #BrainImaging #MedicalTechnology #HealthcareInvestment #NeuroImaging #StrategicPartnership #RadiologyInnovation

Send us a textWhat happens when simulation breaks free from hospital walls and becomes embedded throughout an entire healthcare system? Ryan Aga and Don Brock reveal the remarkable transformation at Health Partners, where simulation has evolved from a training method into a life-saving force reaching 14,000 learners annually across eight hospitals, countless clinics, and even rural communities.Their story unfolds through powerful examples of lives saved, including a cardiac arrest patient given just a 5% chance of survival who later thanked the simulation-trained team for allowing him to witness his grandson's birth. This isn't just about clinical skills—it's about creating a culture where simulation becomes woven into the organizational fabric, with their CEO personally sharing simulation success stories with hundreds of leaders.Behind the numbers lies a deeply human approach. Don, a retired Air Force flight nurse turned simulation operations manager, brings mechanical precision to Ryan's visionary leadership. Together, they've built a program that reaches every corner of their system, from dental clinics to primary care offices now handling patients with acuity levels previously seen only in emergency departments. They're even building the future healthcare workforce through extensive youth programs in local schools. The President's Award-winning team doesn't shy away from healthcare's harsh realities—the lingering trauma of the pandemic, financial constraints, and the sobering statistic that 250,000 Americans die annually from preventable medical errors. Their response? A fierce tenacity to improve, an openness to diverse perspectives (including hiring a biomedical engineer to bring fresh insights), and a deep commitment to supporting each other through healthcare's most challenging era.Whether you're just beginning your simulation journey or looking to scale your existing program, this conversation offers both inspiration and practical wisdom from pioneers who've made simulation an essential, system-wide force for saving lives. Andrea Walsh emphasized the current state of healthcare versus actual wellness. Dr. Koranne talked about how community infrastructure is critical to being able to release patients from hospitals to either home or a care facility. Boarding patients in hospitals is not a sustainable model. Another discussion point was staffing. The nursing shortage that was exacerbated during and following the COVID pandemic has been eased slightly. Dr. Koranne explained that the shortage of Primary Care Physicians and Pediatricians is a challenge facing the state of Minnesota.

Forty years ago, two women met on a basketball court and became close friends.  Those women were Ann Bancroft and Jan Malcolm. That was long before Malcolm went on to serve as Minnesota Health Commissioner under three Minnesota governors and guide the state through the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also before Bancroft became the first woman to reach the North Pole by foot with dog sled and inspire people around the world through her polar expeditions. Over the years, Malcolm and Bancroft have supported each other through intense challenges, weathered personal loss and encouraged each other to follow their dreams. Listen back to a conversation MPR News host Angela Davis had with Ann Bancroft and Jan Malcolm as part of her Power Pairs series.Guests:   Ann Bancroft is an adventurer, author and teacher. She was the first woman to reach the North Pole on foot with dog sleds with a group in 1986. She was also the first woman, with Norwegian adventurer Liv Arnesen, to ski across Antarctica.  She's completed a number of other expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic, inspiring school children and drawing attention to global warming. She's also the founder of the Ann Bancroft Foundation.    Jan Malcolm retired as Minnesota's health commissioner at the end of 2022, after serving under Governor Tim Walz and guiding the state's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was appointed as commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health in 2018 by Gov. Mark Dayton and also served in the role under Gov. Jesse Ventura. She was also vice president at Allina Health and CEO of Courage Center and was the chief architect of the state's safety net insurance program MinnesotaCare while working at HealthPartners in the early 1990s.     Do you know a ‘Power Pair?'Know two Minnesotans who have a close relationship and lean on each other for support in the work they do?
