Raising $25,000 to build a school for special needs children in Guatemala.Lessons Learned: Key areas vital to mental well-being: finding meaning, building connections, practicing gratitude, and embracing forgiveness.Guest Bio: I want to speak to the broken, and to the brokenness in each of us. I do this for you. Our levels of stress, anxiety, and depression are at all-time highs, and it is taking its toll on our professional and personal lives. I think there are some things every human on this planet shares, and struggle is one of them. Little and big our life challenges pile up and can keep us from our best selves. Unfortunately I have seen so many people losing the battle. It's estimated that stress, anxiety, and depression costs American business$384 billion annually in lost productivity, health costs, low morale, poor performance, tardiness, and absenteeism; I can't imagine what it is costing us personally. That is why I share that our company of 25 has a chaplain, and a mental wellness coach as well as a “Dream Manager” program where our company will offer our knowledge resources to help employees navigate the complexities of achieving a life “dream”; we think it is important to help people find purpose and meaning in life. In 2016 I summited Mount Rainier and raised $25,000 to build a school for special needs children in rural Guatemala. Everyone who works at our company gets a carabiner as a reminder we make it epic when we do it with purpose. I am also transparent about my own struggles and what I have learned coming back from the deepest of places, the types of places that breed purpose and meaning. My mother was an alcoholic, and my brother and sister from her first marriage physically abused me, especially when Dad was often out of town. When I was eleven, mom died in a drunken car accident. She drove the wrong way on the highway. I was fourteen when my older brother had a beer in his hand which he crushed on impact as he drove under a merging truck and died. My sister subsequently lived a life of “why me” and despite my pleas ‘not to make me burry her too', she died from alcoholism after my consent to remove life support. Four months after my sister's death I had a single car accident, and my close friend did not survive. I was...

As a young, single mom of 2, I felt broken and blamed my circumstances and others for why I was not living up to my potential. In 2015, my mother (my best friend) passed suddenly from a car accident and my life was shaken. Although I had been on my own personal growth journey for some time prior, I quickly realized this is not a dress rehearsal and it's time to take control of my life. Now, walking with others through their own personal growth journey, helping them grow into their vision, and witnessing real transformation is the most rewarding thing I can do with my life." url: brookepasschier.com (working with Molly Jeanine and will be live within a couple weeks) Other url's: brookemariecollective.com (will be fed into brookepasschier.com soon) Book: https://www.amazon.com/UnCaged-Break-Changing-Inner-Story/dp/B093RFR91F/ref=sr_1_1?crid=9NRNXK2I45R0&keywords=uncaged+by+brooke+krebill&qid=1695086554&sprefix=uncaged+by+brooke+krebill%2Caps%2C125&sr=8-1(link to book will also be on brookepasschier.com CONNECT WITH SHANNAN MONDOR: Website Facebook IG Email- info@shannanmondor.com When you have faith in yourself you will have fulfilment in all areas of your life! In this episode Shannan has a in-depth conversation with Ian as he describes how what he read the morning of September 10, 2013 transformed his way of thinking and looking at the world. It was at that specific moment of silence that lead him to quiet his job and be of service to others full-time May 14, 2014. Ian shares his amazing journey and how he has changed many lives to this day and continues to on a daily basis. Ian's Information: Ian Westmoreland is the founder of the not-for-profit organisations Mentoring Men and Kintsugi Heroes. A life-changing moment in September 2013 would alter the course of Ian's life. It would see him leave a lucrative, 42-year IT career to devote himself entirely to volunteer work. By sharing his inspirational story, Ian demonstrates how removing the many masks we wear for others allows us to reveal our authentic selves, improve relationships, meet new people, and reclaim control of our lives. Engage Ian to speak at your event if you want attendees to: ● Be inspired ● Discover their true purpose ● Get moving and embrace change ● Transform lives to make the world a better place Ian spent 42 years working in the Australian and New Zealand telecommunications and energy industries mainly as an IT project manager. On 10 September 2013 he experienced a life changing moment so profound, it would lead him to give up paid work in May 2014 to commence a full-time volunteer career. It was during his work as a volunteer for not-for-profit youth programs such as the Raise Foundation, Kidshope and COACH, Ian noticed a gap in comparable services for mature adults. However, it wasn't until his own moment of challenge that he realised just how urgently these services were needed, especially for men, a demographic that has historically struggled with vulnerability and asking for support. In response he developed the Mentoring Men program in June 2018 and it was officially launched as a registered charity by Julian Leeser, Federal Member for Berowra in November 2018. In just three years, Mentoring Men grew to become an Australia-wide, free mentoring service to support men. With the Mentoring Men organisation now independently up and running, in December 2022 Ian launched another “passion project” called Kintsugi Heroes. Complementing his previous volunteer work, Kintsugi Heroes aims to show how those major moments of challenge we face can change the course of our life, making it even more beautiful and fulfilling than ever before. Kintsugi Heroes is a weekly podcast of inspirational interviews with people who have discovered beauty, despite the incredible adversities they have faced. It's a no-holds-barred approach that doesn't sugar-coat the difficult road to a life of fulfilment and hope. One of the first podcasts published was Professor Gregory Smith's inspiring story. Ian's story has been covered on national TV, has been referred to in both Federal and NSW State Parliaments, and included in the Moments in Time book as well as numerous podcasts, newspapers, and radio shows. Ian and the charity organisations he established have won numerous awards including: • NSW Volunteer of the year award 2016 • NSW Volunteer of the year award 2020 – Individual and Mentoring Men State Finalist • AMHF Men's Health Awards 2020 – NSW Men's Health Award Ian has been married to Helen for 40 years and they have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. This episode is filled with so much banter as Shannan and Will get into such a good conversation about how Will suffers from ADHD. He takes your along his journey from childhood to his adult life of how ADHD played such a role and how he was brought to his addiction of alcohol, substance abuse and sex. Will learned a lot on this journey and it was a pleasure to hear his story as you will learn so much from him sharing. Will's Information: Will Wheeler is a proud neurodistinct person with dyslexia and ADHD, who has worked with people and organisations all over the world. Failing school, Will thought he was destined for a life of nothing and used drugs/alcohol to cover his depression and anxiety for the best part of 15 years. Growing up was a weird time for him and making friends was confusing. Often he was easily influenced and would get mixed up with the wrong people. Because of this, he was very vulnerable and this cause him to get sexually abused by 2 older boys in his neighborhood. Having to deal with this at a young age, he often felt it was his fault and keep most things bottled up as was afraid of getting in trouble. Once Will got older he has seen the affects of what failing school, being told you won't amount to much in life, and what being sexually abused does to a person. Besides the fact he was addicted to drugs and alcohol, he's also learnt that he is a sex addict (Hypersexual), which is common for people who are ADHD or have been sexually abused as a kid. Will's goal is to talk more openly about his experience in life and help others to feel comfortable opening up about theirs.
