Meet Keith Lorigan who can help Florida companies see if they qualify! This is found money with very little effort!!!! (klorigan@erchelpdesk.com | Direct: 561-756-2008)Most companies are owed money in the CARES ACT from the ERC (Employee Retention Credit). There are multiple ways to qualify other than just a reduction in revenue. Businesses can capture up to $26,000 per W2 employee, based on certain quarters in 2020 & 2021. The IRS code and guidelines are complex and have changed on the ERC and we know the IRS code very well. Most CPAs want nothing to do with this b/c it is complicated and they are already super busy. If a typical CPA has 500 clients, he/she may do this for 2 or 3 of their biggest ones - but that seems about it. We have CPA's referring to us - as well as Payroll Companies b/c we do all the work for the business - file the forms - and the business only pays when the Tax Refunds come in 6-7 months or so from now. IRS is pretty slow at processing these. There is no upfront filing fee. You get 85% of what we collect and ERC Helpdesk collects 15%. Only $20 Billion has been claimed out of $400 Billion in the program which tells you - no one is filing, but this money is owed to businesses. This program has an expiration 'beginning' in July 2023. If the company can do the survey at www.ERCHelpDesk.com or if they prefer, they can provide the information below, we can tell the company what they will qualify for 'automatically' and then we use 'automatic alternative qualifiers' to determine if any of them apply to the company. We are a nonprofit sanctuary that provides guardianship for pets that have lost their human companions due to death, disability or military service. In the fall of 2010, a dear friend, Joan, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I was her designated health surrogate and cared for her till she passed. Joan was an avid animal lover and the human companion to 3 old cats. When she learned that she had limited time left here her greatest concern was for her cats. Together, we created a plan for her cats care. Her oldest cat Shadow, 21 years old, she decided she would have euthanized shortly before it was her time. That left Smokey and Jeremy, both 17 years old. We decided that after she passed her cats would come to live with me. She wanted to make sure to provide financially for Smokey and Jeremy so there would be resources to care for them whatever they might need for the rest of their lives. With a lawyer we drew up an agreement and their future care was cemented. This experience led me to begin to investigate what is available to pet owners if family or friends are not able to care for their companions should something happen to them. West Palm Beach has a world class art museum : The Norton Museum of Art was founded in 1941 by Ralph Hubbard Norton (1875-1953) and his wife Elizabeth Calhoun Norton (1881-1947). Norton was an industrialist who headed the Acme Steel Company in Chicago. He and his wife began collecting to decorate their home, but then he became interested in art for its own sake and formed a sizable collection of paintings and sculpture. In 1935, Mr. Norton semi-retired, and the couple began to spend more time in the Palm Beaches. They contemplated what to do with their art collection and eventually decided to found their own museum in West Palm Beach, to give South Florida its first such institution. In 1940, construction began on the Norton Gallery and School of Art located between South Olive Avenue and South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Mr. Norton commissioned Marion Sims Wyeth of the distinguished firm of Wyeth, King & Johnson to design the Museum. The Art Deco building opened to the public on February 8, 1941. Norton continued to add to his collection until his death in 1953, and the works that he and his wife gave the Museum form the core of the institution’s collection today. The Museum’s permanent collection now consists of more than 8,200 works in five curatorial departments: European, American, Chinese, Contemporary and Photography. Since 1954, many distinguished additions have been made thanks to the endowment Mr. Norton created for the purchase of works of art. They include masterpieces such as Stuart Davis's New York Mural (acquired in 1964), and Jackson Pollock's Night Mist (acquired in 1971).To visit the museum( now open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) go to: www.norton.orgSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=33101553" data-patreon-widget-type="become-patron-button">Become a Patron!)

Amendment 5 :Proposing an amendment to the State Constitution, effective date January 1, 2021, to increase, from 2 years to 3 years, the period of time during which accrued Save-Our-Homes benefits may be transferred from a prior homestead to a new homestead. This will extend the portability from 2 years to 3 years which is a more realistic time frame and encourages families that are upsizing or downsizing to more expensive homes to make the move and save on their property taxes.Amendment 6: Ad Valorem Tax Discount for Spouses of Certain Deceased Veterans who had Permanent, Combat-related DisabilitiesThis would amend Section 6 of Article 7 of the Florida Constitution to allow a homestead property tax discount to be transferred to the surviving spouse of a deceased veteran. This would be in effect until the spouse remarries, sells or disposes of the property. This allows spouses of deceased vets to stay in their homes and not get a large property tax increase. The appraisers office has an amazing website and you can even calculate what your proposed property tax will be on a home you may consider buying or look at nearby sales if you maybe selling!https://www.pbcgov.org/papaSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=33101553" data-patreon-widget-type="become-patron-button">Become a Patron!)

In our interview with Lauren Perry we find out about the famous Henry Flagler and the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. There are some interesting facts including what Henry brought to Palm Beach aside from the historic museum and also new things that the museum is up to. This home was built for his third wife and was called the "White House" after Henry's death it was sold to a developer that made it a hotel on the intracoastal but Henry's granddaughter was able to purchase it back and lovingly restored it and endowed it as a museum that captures the true essence of Palm Beach in its early days. Fun in the sun! Sun protection! Skin cancer is on the rise! Statistics showed that more than 3 million Americans develop skin cancer each year. Most cases involve basal and squamous cell carcinomas (which are rarely fatal, but disfiguring). But, an estimated 91,000 people will be diagnosed with melanoma, and 9,000 Americans will die from it. It is nothing to be taken lightly! When looking for sunscreen, you want to look for SPF which rates how it protects you from the UVB rays. For UVA rays look for Broad Spectrom sunscreenTwo classes of ingredients provides the UVA protection. For safety reasons, You want to select the Mineral sunscreen: zinc oxide, titanium dioxide. The mineral sunscreen doesn’t absorb into your body like chemical sunscreen and is well tolerated by people with sensitive skin. It is also recommended for children and babies. Besides the active ingredients, there are inactive ingredients that are used to make the product feel like other cosmetics. You also want to check those ingredients, ingredients like fragrance, paraben, Retinyl palmitate, or vitamin A. are among the list of ingredients that pose harmful effects on our body and need to be avoided. RescueWe rescue sick, injured, or orphaned native Florida wildlife. The Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that serves Palm Beach County. We rely on the public to bring injured wildlife to our wildlife hospital. Over the years, we have rescued deer, foxes, screech owls, hawks, bald eagles, squirrels, birds, and many others. Our volunteer rescue team is sent out to rescue animals that the public can't, such as raccoons, great blue herons, bobcats, foxes, etc...When rescuing a wild animal:When rescuing a wild animal your first thought may be to comfort the creature and provide it with food. However, handling an injured animal can cause stress, and feeding can often cause harm. The diets of wild animals are very complex, so it is better to do as little as possible until you can get the animal to a wildlife rehabilitation facility. LAST YEAR WE HAD OVER 5,200 PATIENTS COME INTO OUR HOSPITAL!Our hospital staff works hard to take care of the many wildlife patients in our hospital. They feed the orphaned wildlife, perform examinations, administer medication, and much more. At certain times, our staff are taking care of more than 75 animals. All patients are examined upon the end of treatment and are assessed whether or not they can be released back into the wild. What to do when you have found an injured animal: Call Busch Wildlife Sanctuary for assistance at 561-575-3399Use common sense and think of your safety firstTry to contain the animalKeep the animal warm & quietDo not pet or handle the animalDo not try to feed or give water to the animalSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=33101553" data-patreon-widget-type="become-patron-button">Become a Patron!)

Severe storm expert Cris Martinez says being prepared is the key to staying safe and stress free during storms and maybe even squeezing in a little fun. A main component is to know what zone you are located in. Also they happen a lot less frequently here in Palm Beach County than people think! Palm Beach is full of interesting over achievers meet Anne, as she talks about her book Learning to Fall. She will be hosting an upcoming book signing for our listeners at a local venue. Anne is fairly new to Palm Beach County and fell in love with Wellington and made it her home. She is a partner in a bank, equestrian, and an author. Her book can be found on Amazon or ask for it from your local book seller and they will order it for you. Anne is both an unlikely author and an obvious one. Running a 75-horse equestrian center with her husband, while raising two young daughters, didn’t leave much time for reading novels, let alone writing them. But there was something about living in the mountains of the San Francisco Bay Area and the magic of horses that has inspired her – not just then, but ever since her first trail ride at the age of sixteen – to write down her unique perspective on the world. Born in Kraków and raised outside of Toronto, Anne holds a Bachelor of Science degree with specialized honors in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph in Canada, and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.Prior to running an equestrian center, Anne’s experience ranges from animal behavior to animal nutrition to cancer research. She and her family relocated to Wellington, Florida, to be closer to the world of horse show jumping. She’s currently working on a new novel in the evenings, and during the day she works at Waterman Bank as a mortgage banker, helping people finance their dream homes, vacation and equestrian properties. Waterman Bank is a federally chartered bank, and she is able to finance properties anywhere in the United States.Mortgage Banker | NMLS ID 1943461Waterman Bank650-867-5173aclermont@watermanbank.com Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=33101553" data-patreon-widget-type="become-patron-button">Become a Patron!)

She is also featured in many publications and she would like you to subscribe to her blog: Susanunfilteredwit.com. This is an episode not to be missed! Here is a short piece from one of her articles on her blog:Isolation DiaryDiary? Whom am I kidding? Keeping a diary implies that you know what day of the week it is. Which I don’t. For any orientation at all, I rely on the daily newspaper delivery, which miraculously arrives at our house each morning.Part of my husband’s physical fitness routine is walking to the edge of the driveway with a pair of repurposed barbecue tongs. With these, he lifts the paper and gingerly brings it into the house, removes the plastic wrapping, and skillfully lowers it into the garbage pail. I note how deftly the plastic never touches his skin. It took about a week, but with diligence and determination, the entire operation is now a well-oiled machine. And so begins the day. Which day? Any day. It doesn’t matter. All the diary entries would be the same.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=33101553" data-patreon-widget-type="become-patron-button">Become a Patron!)
