Episode #91 Alan Katz Well that was a blast. Had a great conversation with AL Katz about his journey through Hollywood and beyond. We got into his time writing for iconic shows like Tales from the Crypt, working with legends like Robert Zemeckis and Walter Hill, navigating the wild world of TV and film production, and why he walked away from it all. We also dove into The Donor: A Modern Horror Story, his deeply personal and harrowing true story that blends medical mystery with psychological thriller—an incredible example of real life being stranger (and scarier) than fiction. AL opened up about how the experience changed him and how he turned it into a powerful narrative. Oh, and the Hollywood stories—buckle up. AL shared some truly bizarre, hilarious, and borderline unbelievable encounters with a certain A-list celebrity whose behavior might just redefine “diva.” From strange requests to even stranger habits, you'll have to hear it to believe it. We also talked about "The How NOT To Make A Movie Podcast" which Entertainment Weekly called the first season of the "Best Film Podcast of 2022".. A funny, honest, intense, and eye-opening chat with someone who's lived through the highs, lows, and total WTF moments of the industry. Don't miss this one. Episode #88 With David Amerland This one was a lot of fun. We had a great conversation even before the podcast started. (some of it included on YouTube). We talked about human behavior, his new book “Built to Last”, understanding why we do the things we do and much more. David Amerland is a writer focused on how human behavior is shaped by modern forces, especially technology, and how that shift impacts our health, culture, and stories. After building a career in marketing and publishing several successful business books, David Amerland expanded into the wellness space with Built to Last, a practical guide to health, longevity, and intentional living. Now also writing fiction, David Amerland explores the emotional and psychological impact of modern life through storytelling. Across all genres, his work investigates how we adapt, and sometimes resist, to change in a fast-moving world and what that does to our sense of values, the moral code we create for ourselves and the societies we build, as a result. David Amerland's work has been featured in Inc. and Forbes, interviewed on Scott Monty's Timeless & Timely, and speaks on topics ranging from digital culture to long-term wellbeing. Episode #88 With Jaime Schwarz Had a great conversation with Jaime about so many things, NFT's marketing, digital art, AI, cats and even raising kids a little bit. This short bio just scratches the surface: After growing up surrounded by over 20 struggling artists, performers, and art historians in his family and a decade long career as a creative director in NYC ad agencies, Jaime Schwarz filed the world's first NFT patent, "A system and method for identifying virtual goods," to advance the art industry's security, accessibility, expression, and equity. Now that this patent has been granted, Jaime is the founder of MRKD.art, the world's only digitally signed, multi-format, rights-managed, immutably-provenanced canvas. No more wallets, authenticators, or marketplaces - just the art, its signature, and that signature's access to its authentication, promotion, and commercialization from any format on which it's presented. From art to music, Jaime is also launching MRKD.dj in collaboration with Public Enemy's Keith Shocklee to democratize automated, rights managed remixes. As a serial startup co-founder, Jaime has focused on self, company, and system betterment for the past decade while living with his wife and two boys in Hastings on Hudson, NY, serving as a marketing adjunct at CUNY's CCNY and on the board of Wayfinders on the Hudson. Episode #84 John Pabon Great and inspiring conversation with John. We talked about saving the Earth! OK, let's face it, it's not the earth that really needs saving, it's all the things that live on Earth. Anyway, he has a much more positive view on the subject than I do, and it was a very refreshing conversation. There was also a bit of controversy, Ooooooh, everyone loves controversy! In his own words: I've spent two decades in the business of saving our Earth. After leaving my role at the United Nations, I traveled the world studying the impacts of sustainability first-hand in factories, on fields, and at Fortune 500s. That's given me a very unique perspective on what it takes to make a positive impact. I'm a globally recognized expert in sustainability with a mission to move from theory to practical strategies that help people and businesses confidentially make real impact. To get there, I share my message through books, consulting to businesses, and keynote speaking to audiences around the world. My global career has taken me from Los Angeles to New York, Shanghai to Seoul to Melbourne. I've had the privilege of working with the United Nations, McKinsey, A.C. Nielsen, and as a consultant with BSR, the world's largest sustainability-focused business network. A decade of experience living and working in Asia inspired me to found strategic communications firm Fulcrum Strategic Advisors with a mission to help companies, governments, and individuals capitalize on the benefits sustainability offers. I'm also a regular contributor to major publications such as CNN, EuroNews, and the ABC. I speak to an array of global audiences on issues of sustainability, geopolitics, communications, and societal change. I am the Program Director for The Conference Board's Asia Sustainability Leaders Council, a member of the United Nations Association of Australia, and serve on the board of advisors to the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce. I am the author of “Sustainability for the Rest of Us: Your No-Bullshit, Five-Point Plan for Saving the Planet.” The book has been described as “…a foundational read for practical sustainability in the 21st century” and “…one of the best sustainability resources available to date.” I'm also excited to be helping consumers make smarter decisions through my second book, “The Great Greenwashing: How Brands, Governments, and Influencers are Lying to You,” out now. https://www.tiktok.com/@johnapabon https://www.johnpabon.com/ https://www.fulcrum22.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnpabon/ https://www.instagram.com/johnapabon/ https://www.instagram.com/@johnapabon Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #80 With Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat: Had a wonderful conversation with Dr. Carolle about being a medical intuitive, her books, Louise Hay, eating, praying, loving and much more. More about Dr. Carolle, Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, MD, is a gifted medical intuitive, spiritual healer, board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, trained primary care specialist, and burnout prevention coach. Born and raised in Haiti, she comes from a family of shamans, herbalists, and midwives. She was educated in top universities in Haiti, Mexico, Jamaica, and the U.S. Fluent in four languages; she has practiced medicine in different settings, from academia in Haiti and the US to remote hospitals and community clinics in Haiti, Mexico, Native American reservations, and the US, giving her a broad-spectrum approach to medicine and invaluable multicultural knowledge. Soon after starting her private practice in San Diego, California, she met many mentors, including Louise Hay, who became her patient. They taught her about the mind-body-spirit connection. At first, she quit obstetrics in the US, tired of performing unnecessary C-sections because of strict protocols, then gynecological surgery, realizing that stress was usually the root cause of her patient's irregular bleeding – not her hormones. Finding the stressor and dealing with it would stop her from bleeding. She jokingly says she can help her patients “heal without a knife.” But it took an emotional and financial toll, and in her late 40s suffered severe panic attacks and had to reinvent herself. https://www.drcarolle.com/ Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #79 With Liz Entin: Today on the podcast I talked to Liz Entin. We talked about her book, her podcast, helping companies go to zero waste and a lot more. From her website: Liz began examining if there was evidence of an afterlife and anything paranormal in 2015 following the passing of her father. While she still considers herself skeptical and an atheist, (although she's a cultural Jew), the evidence really blew her away. She is the author of WTF Just Happened?!: A sciencey-skeptic explores grief, healing, and evidence of an afterlife. She is host of a podcast, WTF Just Happened?!: All about the afterlife. No woo. She also hosts “Science and Spirituality” private dinners, where an intimate group of you and your friends can learn more about the science behind an afterlife and get readings from highly evidential mediums who have been tested by scientists. Fun fact that has nothing to do with the afterlife - she has a chihuahua Peanut who is famous for chasing and scaring Harvey Weinstein. She splits her time between New York and LA. Episode #76 On this episode I talk to Daniel Carey author of “Screenwriting Tribe,” "Dream Another Dream," "Dream Your World," and “Plant-based Regenerative Nutrition.” He is the founder of Screenwriting Tribe script incubation workshop in Los Angeles. We talk about weird Hollywood, script writing, childhood trauma, someone we both know (small world) and much much more. From the author: When the pandemic caused the screenwriting workshop, I had been running for four years to be shut down, I got busy working on my books about life recovery, life redesign, and motivation. The pandemic started just after the second edition of my screenwriting book was published, which is used as a text in film schools. In March 2023, a screenplay I wrote about a religious cult made a list of the top unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. It's one of many screenplays I've written. My book "Dream Another Dream: Recover and Reimagine Your Life" was published in June 2022. "Dream Your World: Fathom a New Life in which You can Thrive" was published in February 2023. In "Dream Another Dream," I cover many topics about life intermixed with quotations of many people from throughout history. I also write of my childhood growing up in a household of many misfortunes and saturated with poverty, alcoholism, brutality, and depression. At age 16, I hitchhiked across country to escape the brutality. Completely unprepared for life, as a troubled young adult I ended up homeless. I had to build my life from the ground up. "Dream Your World" is a continuation of what I wrote of in "Dream Another Dream." In both books, I mixed the texts with philosophical and inspiring quotations from hundreds of people throughout history, all with the goal of inspiring life improvement. For many years, I had worked as a ghost writer, helping a variety of writers with their manuscripts, and getting their books ready for publishing. Mostly, I worked on health and nutrition books. I decided that from now on I will only work on my own books. In February 2023, my book "Plant-Based Regenerative Nutrition" was published. It is 400 pages, and includes claims backed by medical and science studies. I live in Los Angeles, where I run Screenwriting Tribe script incubation workshop. In 2020, I took the workshop virtual, on Zoom. Since November 2022, I also have an in-person workshop, and continue also holding the workshop on Zoom. Both workshops are for up to 17 members. I help writers polish their film and TV screenplays. I also polish screenplays for film producers. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. A bit more from his website (https://www.josephlevalley.com/index.html): My career path to becoming an author was unusual, to say the least. I like to describe it as a life of "outrageous good fortune." Significant roles in the past have included: * Reporter-photographer for Iowa newspapers for seven years. During that time, I wrote thousands of articles ranging from breaking news to feature stories to personal columns. * Served for more than 30 years as an executive in Iowa hospitals and its largest statewide health care network. I also am a composer. You can hear some of my original music under the "Music" section of this website, or on YouTube at JosephLeValley, or at www.rockiowa.net. In 2016, I was thrilled and honored to be inducted with the Mourning Glory Rock Band into the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. * Writer. After a life of writing many different types of fiction and non-fiction, I published my first novel in early 2019. I now have written five novels and am working on number six. Four have been published and have won a total of nine awards. A lifelong Iowan, I am a proud alumnus of Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Drake University in Des Moines, and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Csongor Daniel (https://www.csongordaniel.com/) was one of the first officially recognized bioenergy healers in the former Yugoslavia, trained by the legendary Zdenko Domancic (Documentary: Think about It). While his teacher has healed more than a million people, Csongor has no such ambitions. Instead, he would like to teach a million how to become healers themselves. In the U.S. since 1991, he has become an internationally known healer and lecturer and the first honorary president of the International Biotherapy Association which was based in the UK. Csongor's lectures and his internationally sold book: Biotherapy: A Healing for the 21st Century are approved for continuing education for massage therapists throughout Florida. He also has a double DVD: Energizing T'ai Chi Chi Kung: The 18 Steps for the Absolute Beginner; as well as a children's book: The Girl with the Healing Hands. Widely recognized as one of the fastest and most powerful healing methods that have ever been developed, bioenergy healing is relatively easy to learn. Csongor's unique, light, and humorous lectures are entertaining, fun, and highly educational. Csongor's healing sessions are distinctive as well. Most of them take less than 15 minutes, sometimes without even touching the person. In some cases, one session is enough for full recovery. Csongor is also a master of long-distance healing. His clients can be continents away and experience the same healing benefits as if they were present. Bioenergy Healing: Simple Techniques for Reducing Pain and Restoring Health through Energetic Healing is Csongor's third and most comprehensive book on energy healing. It is a light, yet very informative read. If you are a fast reader, you may learn to heal in only one day. By the end of the book, you will become a healer for a lifetime. Csongor is a modern-day renaissance man. Healing and teaching are only a few of his passions. He also builds his own motorcycles, which he then rides to many of his seminars, both in the U.S. and internationally. He is always open to suggestions and invitations to teach anywhere in the world. https://www.csongordaniel.com/ Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #67 Suzanne Munson joins me on the podcast today to talk about her latest book The Metaphysical Thomas Jefferson. A unique and interesting way of finding out what's in the mind of one of the most well known historic figures. PREMISE: IF YOU COULD TALK WITH THOMAS JEFFERSON, WHAT QUESTIONS WOULD YOU ASK? Eight Jefferson authorities devised questions, thinking they were participating in a “history class project.” Instead, they became part of an amazing adventure: a journey to the immortal mind of Mr. Jefferson himself, facilitated by an experienced medium. From his place in spirit, Jefferson is not happy with the evolution of America's government and culture since the days of the Founding Fathers. America's government has lost its footing and is in need of a new revolution--not of war, but of integrity, he observes. The Metaphysical Thomas Jefferson records his views on Congress, the presidency, foreign policy, higher education, the military, religion, the media, slavery, race, and Sally Hemings. On government, Jefferson is discouraged by generations of “corruption, self-dealing, conformity, and confusion” in Washington. He is especially concerned about a gradual, insidious loss of freedom in the country. The book concludes with Jefferson's call to action to the next generation of leaders: to form “Circles of Integrity,” large enough to realize crucial reforms. He calls for a restructuring of all major American institutions. Bio: Suzanne Munson is a lover of history and author of books about America's Founding Fathers. She has just published The Metaphysical Thomas Jefferson and previously wrote a biography about Jefferson's mentor, George Wythe, titled Jefferson's Godfather: The Man Behind the Man. She lectures on the legacy of these two Founding Fathers at the college level and at various other venues. Following a career in corporate and non-profit communications, she turned her attention to writing and teaching. Her interest in history began as a child, hearing of the trials of her ancestors in 17th century Jamestown-area settlements and the exploits of her pioneer forebears a century later on Virginia's westernmost frontier. Episode #63 On the show today I have the pleasure of talking to Evan Stern host of Vanishing Postcards a new podcast now available everywhere. We talk about how he got into podcasting, making a narrative or documentary style podcast, and all the things that he had to learn to produce the podcast. I also ask about the next season and what is coming up. From Evan: A native of Austin, TX, I caught the performing bug at age 11 with a second prize win in the famed O Henry Pun-Off. After studies at Sarah Lawrence and the British American Drama Academy, I moved to NYC to pursue a career in performance where I had the honor of appearing as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center among many distinguished venues. Following a lifelong passion for raconteurship, and budding interest in audio storytelling, I grabbed a microphone and returned home to Texas in January of 2020 to try my hand at collecting oral histories. This project evolved into Vanishing Postcards, a documentary travelogue in which listeners are invited to join me on a road trip exploring the hidden dives, traditions and frequently threatened histories discovered by exiting the interstates. Featuring humorous, often touching dispatches from the backroads, within one week of its launch the show was named one of the Best Podcasts of 2021 by Digital Trends. https://www.vanishingpostcards.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Vanishing-Postcards-103417951858890/ https://www.instagram.com/vanishing_postcards/?hl=en Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #61 What is Atmospheric Science? Is there something missing in all the data on global climate change? How do you go from a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering to a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science? Should I buy a Tesla?? My guest this episode is Dr. James Stalker an American serial high-tech entrepreneur since 2002. Dr. Stalker is CEO of The Enterprise Universe. Dr. Stalker has a unique professional background in Science (Ph.D. & Master's degrees in Atmospheric Science) and Engineering (Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering). He also has decades-long experience in research (e.g., inventor of the Stalker method for the global weather/climate simulation) and technology development (e.g., inventor of load-creating renewable energy) and business development (owner of multiple high-tech businesses, including Regional Earth System Predictability Research & The Enterprise Universe). Dr. Stalker spends his time solving the unknown and most complex problems in the STEM fields, but also has essentially developed key innovations for inspiring and educating and training entrepreneurs and corporations via his two seminars/workshops titled '9 Entrepreneurship Fundamentals' and 'Leadaging for Organizational Excellence,' respectively. Dr. Stalker is a patriotic and proud American that studies and defends the Constitution and always tries to interpret it for fairness and inclusiveness for the changing times in which we find ourselves. The United States of America has played and still must play a significant leadership role in the world to make (and keep) the world a better and safer place for every human being on Earth. He also believes that the American values of governance are worth promoting to the rest of the world mainly by setting an example. Dr. Stalker strongly believes that the most effective way of imparting one's knowledge to others is by showing to the rest of the world how that knowledge has helped you become a better individual. https://james-r-stalker-ceo.teu.enterprises/ #GlobalClimateChange #AtomosphericScience #GlobalWarming #ClimateCrisis #podcaster Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #60 Stephen Hawley Martin is my guest, and we talk about evidence for life after death, the evidence for reincarnation, evidence that consciousness is not confined to our brains, and a whole lot more. What do you think? As the talk show host of a popular weekly internet podcast, “The Truth About Life,” it became clear to bestselling author Stephen Hawley Martin as he interviewed dozens of near-death survivors, psychics, researchers into the paranormal, as well as quantum physicists and medical doctors, that humankind is on the cusp of a transition to a new understanding of the true nature of reality. Episode #58 Scott Wagnon PA-C Is the latest fade diet going to work long term? Wondering what diet is for you? Want to find out if you can exercise the weight off? Is plant based the only proven way to have a healthy diet? Do I care? Those are the questions I ask Scott on this episode. Scott has been a Physician Assistant since 2005. Currently working in Internal Medicine. In 2012 he had his own health problems despite heavy exercise, and what he felt was a healthy lifestyle. This prompted him to study the science of Nutrition. Once he saw the evidence, he began transitioning to a whole food plant based diet. He got his health back, and then began sharing it with patients. By the end of 2020 he has taught using a food as medicine approach to over 1,500 patients, both in one on one appointments in the clinic, as well as in free classes to his community. Episode #56 This time on the show I have the great pleasure of talking to Trav Bell, The Bucket list Guy. This guy is full of positive energy and we talk about how he became The Bucket list Guy, living life fully, overcoming fears, and even how Covid helped him finish his book! In his own words: Someone first called me The Bucket List Guy about eight years ago. It was because of all the crazy and interesting things I’d done in my life up until then. See, from the age of eighteen – well before Bucket Lists were a ‘thing’ – I’ve written a ‘To Do Before I Die List’. Today, as a forty (something) year-old guy, thanks to The Bucket List movie and the popularity of the concept, they certainly are now. It’s a heavily hashtagged and tweeted global phenomenon. My Bucket List is my reason why I attack life. It’s always been my compass, my motivation. It continues to give me purpose and bring meaning into my life. Ignorantly, I thought everyone had a written list like me… apparently not. Episode #55 Welcome and thanks for listening. On this episode I talk to Michelle E. Dickinson about mental health, growing up with a mother who was bipolar, understanding the challenges of mental health issues in the workplace and the need to normalize the conversation around mental health. More from Michelle: 1 in 3 Americans are dealing with depression or anxiety due to COVID. The emotional impact of the pandemic is hitting many of us. The United Nations released a policy brief entitled COVID-19 and the Need for Action on Mental Health citing the deep toll the crisis has taken due to social isolation, losing a loved one, and the economic turmoil from lost income. Now, more than ever, we need to normalize the mental health conversation. Return to work anxiety is very real for so many people also. Setting up your home for harmony is also a challenge for many. Invite me to share tips and strategies to help ease anxiety and how to create a home environment and structure that will best support your family. I've experienced the "trifecta" of mental health. I grew up loving and caring for my bipolar mother. I helped build the largest mental health employee resource group at a fortune 500 company. I experienced depression due to a life event reminding me that nobody is immune to mental illness at any given point in their life. My book Breaking Into My Life was written to help myself—along with the rest of us—better understand the world of mental illness. My story of perseverance and triumph helps challenge and transform the “suffer in silence” dynamic, and makes mental illness more understood, treated and accepted. I am out to do my part to eliminate the stigma by normalizing the mental health conversation in workplaces and within the first responder community. I partner with innovative leaders to bring my programs and mental health strategies to help them cultivate cultures of compassion for those living with or caring for those with invisible disabilities. My Resilience webinar has made an impact with empowering hundreds of employees during COVID-19 quarantine. Episode 52 On this episode of Were You Still Talking? I have George Siegal, with over 35 years of experience in television and film production. We talk about his new film The Last House Standing from Move the World Films (movetheworldfilms.org) and what everyone needs to know about preparing for disasters, buying and building better homes, and what it takes to make a documentary film. We also talk about insurance, FEMA, getting help after major disasters and what you need to do and know before a disaster strikes. George is a former weatherman and TV reporter who covered countless stories about people who lost everything in disasters. In his current documentary film The Last House Standing he explores the fact that most people think catastrophic destruction will never happen to them. And they have no idea if their insurance will actually get them whole again. Movetheworldfilms.org for more info. Episode 49 Justin Alcala is back for a second time. We talk history, Dracula (the book and movies), Jaws and why it’s so good, older movies vs new, dark side of Christmas and Christmas history and then we remember to talk about his upcoming book A Dead End Job. We also talk about news of the day a bit and eventually get on to Star Wars and The Mandalorian and important stuff like that. Justin is a novelist, nerdologist and Speculative Literature Foundation Award Finalist. He’s the author of three novels, including Consumed, (BLK Dog Publishing) The Devil in the Wide City (Solstice Publishing) and Dim Fairy Tales (AllThingsThatMatterPress). His short stories have been featured in dozens of magazines and anthologies, including It Snows Here (Power Loss Anthology), The Offering (Rogue Planet Press Magazine) and The Lantern Quietly Screams (Castabout Literature). When he’s not burning out his retinas in front of a computer, Justin is a tabletop gamer, blogger, folklore enthusiast and time traveler. He is an avid quester of anything righteous, from fighting dragons to acquiring magical breakfast eggs from the impregnable grocery fortress. Most of Justin’s tales and characters take place in The Plenty Dreadful universe, a deranged supernatural version of the modern world. When writing, Justin immerses himself in subject matter, from stuffy research to overseas travel. Much to the chagrin of his family, he often locks himself away in his office-dungeon, playing themed music over, and over, and over again. Justin currently resides with his dark queen, Mallory, their malevolent daughter, Lily, changeling son, Ronan, hellcat, Misery and hound of Ragnarök, Fenrir. Where his mind might be though is anyone’s guess. Justin’s Website: https://www.justincalcala.com/ Twitter: @justinalcala Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. On today’s episode I talk to the infamous Frank King, The Mental Health Comedian. Why is he infamous? Just google Frank King Covid 19 and see all the misleading or just plain bad press about Frank. This is not why I had him on the show. We talk about his run in with the press, escaping the fires in Oregon, a lifetime of comedy, faxing jokes to Jay Leno, 5 TEDX talks and speaking openly about suicide. He even goes so far as giving his number to anyone who just needs to talk. More from his website: Frank King was a quarter-finalist on Star Search…he lost to a puppet. He’s also appeared on A&E’s An Evening at the Improv, Showtime’s Comedy Club Network, and CNN’s Business Unusual. In addition to telling jokes, he’s been busy selling jokes. He’s written nationally for Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, and Dennis Miller. They’ve called him the best thing to happen to after-dinner since dessert. He’s opened up for Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, Jeff Foxworthy, and Ron White. Most recently was himself opened up, by a crack team of cardiac surgeons, at the Oregon Heart and Vascular Institute…who performed an aortic valve replacement, his second, and tossed in a double bypass, his first…so he truly is, Funny at Heart. As a Certified Laugh Coach, Stress Reduction Specialist, and Professional Comedian since 1985 who has totaled one marriage, two heart valves, and three cars, and turned a million dollar real estate portfolio, amassed by age 52, into, thanks to the recession and a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing, a $125,000 real estate portfolio by age 53, I offer time-tested tools for using humor to turn pain into punchlines, losses into laughs, and messes and stresses into successes. On the show today we take a deep dive into AI (Artificial Intelligence not alien intestines). We talk history, dangers & benefits, self-driving cars, a little economics, and we see what happens on a podcast when you are interrupted by a phone call. The link to one of the sites we talked about: http://learnabout.ai More about Scott from his website and links at bottom of page. Thanks for reading, please share the episode. As an Associate Teaching Professor for MU's Trulaske College of Business, I teach courses focused on information systems and project management, emphasizing critical thinking about emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT). I believe that the COVID-19 crisis has moved the future forward; transformations that might have taken decades will now take years or months, as the world's commerce and information flows are re-invented. This acceleration in the pace of change makes understanding new technologies a critical skill and empowers us to shape the future. I am recognized as a leader in applying emerging technologies in education programs and the classroom. I have received the Distance Learning Leadership Award from the Missouri Distance Learning Association, the Raymond and Mary Ann O'Brien Excellence in Teaching Award, the Bruce and Pam Walker Outstanding Faculty Service Award, and several other teaching awards from my students and peers. I am also an experienced public speaker and writer. I have authored or co-authored three books, including Virtual Classrooms, an early book about using videoconferencing for distance learning (published in the mid-90s before Zoom was cool!). This academic year, I am continuing to collaborate with colleagues in Ukraine and South Africa to deliver courses and workshops focusing on emerging technologies to audiences worldwide. Before devoting myself full-time to teaching, I owned Kaleidoscope Consulting, an information technology business. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), I have worked on more than 400 projects worldwide. In 2012 Governor Nixon appointed me to the Board of Regents for the State Technical College of Missouri, where I was elected Vice-President and served for six years. #AI #AIBenefits #AIDangers https://www.christiansonjs.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPTIoqirZKP7bnI9h6_oymA The new mic stand: https://amzn.to/3jBTyvQ Mic I love: https://amzn.to/31ORjPU Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin. Episode #43 What a great conversation with Calvin Corelli as we try to solve the world’s problems from very different points of view. Later we get on to what’s really real, finding your purpose, living meaningful lives and how he started his business Simplero. I could write more here about right wing propaganda machines mentioned in the podcast, but not really necessary as nobody reads these notes anyway. From his website: I'm a serial entrepreneur, spiritual teacher, author, and the founder and CEO of a growing SaaS company called Simplero. Ten years ago I would have never thought that my life could be so vibrant and fulfilling. For most of my life I was trapped in bad relationships, poor health, and a constant feeling of fear and uncertainty. Until I decided to make a change. I've spent the last decade learning, growing, and reimagining myself to get aligned with my life's purpose. And my purpose is to help people realize who they truly are so they can live impactful and meaningful lives. https://calvincorreli.com/ https://www.instagram.com/calvincorreli/ https://www.facebook.com/thecalvincorreli https://twitter.com/calvincorreli Music for all episodes by Jon Griffin.
