Oh Erik, what have you done to us?! On the latest episode of The Slam Podcast - in association with Callaway - Matt Coles and Matt Chivers discuss Erik van Rooyen's emotional victory at the World Wide Technology Championship. He pledged his second PGA Tour win to his best friend Jon Trasamar who is suffering from cancer. The team also discusses Adam Long's mind-boggling achievement at El Cardonal, as he hits every single fairway at the event in Mexico. The tour has also announced its members will be allowed to play in the LIV Golf Promotions event without repercussions - the team discusses whether more stars could play. Will players turn up just to play for the prize money? Will this rule mean the PGA Tour loses more players? It has also been widely reported that the PGA Tour is in talks with a number of companies interested in becoming private equity partners of the circuit. As the tour looks for more sources of investment and with the December 31 deadline for the agreement with the Public Investment Fund approaching, is golf's biggest deal in jeopardy? On a more light-hearted note, the team also talks about the DP World Tour's latest fun feature with Andy Sullivan who broke 80 at the Belfry with just a 5 iron! You know what to do!

This week the European Tour heads to Gran Canaria for a new event on the schedule. Frenchman Antoine Rozner is favourite ahead of Mathias Schwab, Sam Horsfield, Andy Sullivan and tournament host, Rafa Cabrera Bello, but there may well be some value to be had elsewhere as well. With the back nine exposed to coastal winds, there’s a chance form at the likes of Oman and Mauritius could come into play, as could form on resort courses, such as Aphrodite Hills. A week of unknowns, it was worth looking down the board for some long shots. As ever we highly recommend you check out Tour-Tips.com for all the relevant statistics required to make informed selections each week. One-week subscription to tour-tips.com only £5.

Andy Sullivan and Ian Breeze are behind the popular social media page FishNSW. They have grown their following to over 20K in only three short years. In this episode we get to meet the two humble anglers behind page and get to know a little bit about them and their journey. We talk about how they transitioned into targeting Murray Cod and their path of learning along the way. They share stories about their first cod experiences and also some of the best captures. We talk about bank walking for cod, go-to lures and even how to help avoid snagging. We then move onto talk about the popular FishNSW page and how it all come about. The season-ending DP World Tour Championship is upon us, as is our last betting preview of 2020.Patrick Reed will be looking for a good week to seal the Race to Dubai title, but with Tommy Fleetwood on his heels, he cannot afford to have a bad week. With a lot of the players coming over from the nearby Fire Course last week, will that be an advantage? Andy Sullivan was in fine form thru three rounds last week and maybe should have won but Frenchman, Antoine Rozner stole the show with a closing 64, and he will hope to make another step up this week. If you’ve enjoyed the podcast so far, please do help by sharing and subscribing the show. Here’s to more in 2021!
Do you think Andy Sullivan is terrified of the murder hornet? With the golf action limited this week, this Friday episode meanders about from some quick thoughts on Bermuda, Cyprus, and Halloween. Brendan and Andy discuss the grotesque injury suffered by Brendon Todd, they marvel at some of the longshots that went low in Bermuda, and ponder the fairway kiln. Then they get to their annual golf-related Halloween costumes segment, brainstorming up some options for the Shotgunners out there. Bryson, CT machines, the Solicitor General, the Ponte Vedra posse, Spieth, and many others are bandied about as potential costume concepts. Then come edify yourself in the waters of Michael Gellerman research, which is also a reason for a U.S. Pub Links tangent. Masters Fact of the Day is a doozy from @Bamabearcat on the original Mackenzie plan for a par-73 course with a little quiz and subsequent discussion on the par-5 that never was. Also, green B. Draddy SGS quarter zips for the final men’s major of 2020 will be 20 percent off through the weekend with promo code FLIMPER -- shoutout Sandy Lyle.
This week we have lots of chat off the back of the first men's major of 2020 - We talk Morikawa, Speith, Rory, Brooks, DJ and more. As well as Andy Sullivan winning on the European Tour. Also does Tiger Woods effect how we perceive other golfers records?
Kit Alexander and John E. Morgan return for Episode 6 as they discuss Colin Morikawa winning the first major in almost a year and Andy Sullivan winning on the European Tour at Hanbury Manor. Morikawa, Rory, Rahm: can one player dominate golf again?

On this week’s No Accounting for Taste, we discuss clients left behind by the government’s business support measures, recruiting during the crisis and returning to the office. AccountingWEB’s editorial team Richard Hattersley and John Stokdyk are joined this week by Class of 2019 alumnus and Accounting Excellence finalist Andy Sullivan from Complete HQ to chew over the latest news in the accountancy and his firm’s response to the virus. As a relatively new firm, Andy knows too well how tough it is starting out, finding clients and having a work-life balance. But if that wasn’t tough enough, throw in a global pandemic. On top of all that, he had to recruit in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis. Andy had an influx of extra work because firms near him couldn’t cope, had furloughed staff or weren’t providing the service the businesses wanted. He talks the team through the process of hiring a new team member. In episode 8, part 2, highly renowned Welsh Golfer- Alastair Jones, tells me how he narrowly lost in the quarter finals of the British Amateur in 2011. Such was the regard that Alastair was held in British Amateur golf at the time, after winning both the Welsh Youths and Welsh Amateur title in 2010, that when he was not included in one of the 2011 Welsh teams, it was front page sports news across Wales on numerous occasions: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/other-sport/golf/golf-alastair-jones-shock-absentee-1828000 Predictably, after Alastair's best in class Welsh performance as a Quarter finalist at the British Amateur that year, the Welsh sports writers heaped further misery on the Welsh selectors across the sports pages once again! https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/other-sport/golf/golf-alastair-jones-proves-point-1828014 With his fine British Amateur performance that year and wins in the Welsh Amateur and Youths title the prior year, he was invited to join the 2011 Walker Cup training squad, led by legendary Welsh Amateur Nigel Edwards. Alastair talks about his fellow 2011 Walker Cup squad members, what he learnt from Walker Cup legend and 2011 Walker captain Nigel Edwards who instilled great belief in the team and GB & I won with a team featuring British Open Silver Medalist Tom Lewis and future Ryder Cup player and Tour winner Andy Sullivan, against a very strong USA team featuring players like Jordan Spieth. After cruising through the amateur golf ranks and enjoying a highly successful college career, Alastair continued to improve each year and took the plunge into the paid professional ranks, joining the Euro Pro tour and he talks openly about the realities of tour life and the huge pressure. After a couple of years on tour, Alastair then received an irresistible offer to join Preston Trail Golf Club, back in Dallas, Texas, USA, under Cameron Doan. Alastair shares his insights into the amazing programme at Preston Trail and the great mentorship he and other players receive from Cameron Doan. We talked about the high standard of sport and weather in my adopted home country New Zealand. Alastair shares insights on bench marking a high standard of achievement and how to play at that level and talks openly about the shift, he also offers advice on how to improve and what he learnt from mentor Nigel Edwards and how he also developed his game and proved others wrong! We also talk about going back home to Royal Porthcawl and Alastair talks about the British Senior Open which is held there. Thanks very much for your time Alastair, I look forward to you joining me again on the podcast for more of your superb insights! #alastairjonesgolf #golf #golfingtales #holinonegolfpodcast #golfpodcast https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/golf/2020/06/10/local-links-preston-trails-cameron-doan-wins-ntpga-major/ https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/other-sport/golf/golf-Alastair-jones-takes-st-1909564 https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/other-sport/golf/golf-alastair-jones-spearheads-wales-1901638 https://txstatebobcats.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/alastair-jones/2433

Calvin Sambrook (56) has learned a lot over the past 7 years of marathon running. He had to be rescued from the course on his first marathon attempt. His 2nd marathon finish time was in 5 hours 15 minutes, for 12 marathons he was stuck around 4 hours 30 minutes. Then he changed his training and his overall running and race times improved massively. Last year he ran a PB of 3:15 at the London Marathon and he has his eyes set on several PB goals. Calvin is joined by his son, elite runner and coach Josh (23). His recent podcast had a lot of great feedback and more than 30k downloads and views already. Josh is a 2:28 marathoner and he coached his father on this running journey. He shares great insights about Calvin’s improvements and both of them also recommendations for other athletes looking to improve. In today’s podcast I talk to Michael Ovens (Strava), a 41 year old runner from Jersey in the UK. So far he improved from a 5 hour 15 marathon down to 3 hour 18 marathon, with his eyes set on Sub 3 marathon goal next. I am convinced he will reach this goal as well. I really like how honest Michael was in this conversation. We all learn from our training and racing mistakes and in today’s episode Michael shares several of his painful mistakes and ups and downs in training, starting with his five hour marathon. He hit the wall so hard that he thought he got hit by a bus, several great stories there. This made him relook at his entire approach to training and racing. He is now feeling so much better about his training and nutrition with reduced stress levels. We dive deep into a variety of topics around his training, MAF and low HR, nutrition, racing and more. Many members in the Extramilest Facebook group submitted questions for this podcast, so thanks everyone for your great input!
