Since we want everyone to be able to learn from our Patreon series on the 1992 "Titangate" sex and drug scandals in WWE, want to be able to direct everyone to the shows, and don't want to give anyone the idea that we're trying to make money off of the awful new lawsuit against WWE, we're releasing all four Titangate shows for free. Permanently. We're really proud of the work we did on these, and we hope that everyone can learn from them.---Content warning: By necessity of covering this topic, though it is not the sole focus, this episode contains discussion of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse. If you have any concerns that this content may be triggering or otherwise upsetting to you, then skipping this episode may be advisable. It's June [2022], and you know what that means: Time for a new Patreon-exclusive deep dive. This time, it's part 3 of a series on what became known as Titangate, the overarching collection of scandals that hit the WWF in 1992. The topics include:A Current Affair covering the scandals, which included, at the last minute, a letter that Murray Hodgson sent Vince McMahon out of the blue looking for work…while he was suing the WWF. Also: The production of the segment leads to an incredibly strange, forgotten Wrestling Observer item about someone claiming to be a former wrestler going to different shows with conflicting versions of what  he said Rita Chatterton told him about Vince McMahon…before disappearing. How the scandals begat John Arezzi and Vince Russo splitting as business partners, with both giving their sides in material that we didn't have when we did the “Vince Russo Origins” show a few years ago.John Arezzi and Bill Kunkle writing about their memories of Mel Phillips' red flags going back to the mid-1970s.Sid Justice getting suspended for cheating on a drug test.Steve Planamenta word vomiting to Mike Mooneyham about the successes and failures of the drug testing program so far.Lee Cole accusing the WWF of trying to get him sent to prison.Tom Zenk and Jim Ross's thoughts on Titangate, including Zenk revealing for the first and only time that he left the WWF over a vaguely-described incident of sexual misconduct, as well as an overly glib Barry Orton interview where he goes off on Tom and Lee Cole.Vince McMahon benefitting from how many different stories were being shoved into one overarching “WWF scandals” box.The WWF repeatedly airing matches with Mel Phillips doing ring announcing during this period. All that and much more on the latest installment of a series that's become increasingly relevant in 2022 over the last few weeks.Timestamps:0:00:00 Week of April 27, 19920:44:06 Week of May 4, 19921:38:52 Weeks of May 11 & May 18, 19922:08:36 Week of May 25, 19923:14:58 Weeks of June 1 & June 8, 1992To support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. All of you Monday night war era fans are going to love this one, and Tony and Conrad really cut loose and have a good time, and you will too! Whether you watch along or just listen, you will laugh and be entertained by the craziness on the screen combined with an unhinged Tony and Conrad. On a serious note, while taping of this show occurred before the announcement of former WCW star and WHW Monday icon Tom Zenk's death on Sunday, the show includes a word from Tony on the passing of the former Mr. Minnesota, as well as a musical tribute at the beginning of the show, and a classic Tom Zenk/Tony Schiavone musical moment at the end of the show. All this and more on a very special What Happened Monday with Tony Schiavone and Conrad Thompson dedicated to the memory and the legacy of the one and only "Z-Man", Tom Zenk.

Kris & David are, once again, joined by Robert O'Connor (@ghostofquinones), he whose views may not reflect those of Between The Sheets, to discuss the week plus that was June 26-July 4th, 1994. We talk about the buildup to WCW's first Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair match at Bash at the Beach 1994, with Hogan “training” with George Foreman and advising Jimmy Hart to punch out Sherri Martel, plus all kinds of other WCW goodies. We then go to Japan where we talk about Tom Zenk in AJPW, Art Barr and MAX MOON in NJPW, a major WAR show, and all kinds of other Japan goodness. We also talk about Mexico's Double Power shows ending via a major falling out between AAA and the UWA, before going back to the United States to talk about Cactus Jack throwing down his WCW Tag Team Championship belt on ECW in ECW, SMW airing a “training video” featuring Jim Cornette's F.I.T.E. “union,” Nobutaka Araya and Takashi Okano as the Masters of the Orient in Memphis, Chris Adams winning the GWF Championship in Dallas, and so much more. We then close with the WWF. starting with the tragic death of Joey Marella and “the July 4th curse,” before moving on to Jim Ross returning to the WWF and Paul Bearer in the Heartbreak Hotel, among other things. All that and so much more on a fantastic episode of Between the Sheets!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WCW0:55:18 Eurasia: AJPW, NJPW, WAR, FMW, Michinoku Pro, RINGS, AJW, & CWA1:40:49 Mexico: AAA, CMLL, & UWA1:58:44 Classic Commercial Break2:01:39 Halftime2:14:56 Other USA: ECW, SMW, USWA, Jim Crockett Promotions, GWF, & OPWF3:43:38 WWFTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
