Star Wars: Beyond Victory #1, a Star Wars Celebration Japan exclusive, serves as a prequel for the upcoming MetaQuest Star Wars: Beyond Victory -- A Mixed-Reality Playset.The one-shot, written by Ethan Sacks, with art by Steven Cummings, Will Sliney, Shogo Aoki, Rachelle Rosenberg and VC's Joe Caramagna, sets up the story of Volo Bolus, a podracer with an eye toward the prize and who draws the attention of now-disgraced racer Sebulba (yep, the one from The Phantom Menace).What follows is a fast-paced race on Batuu, a solid backstory and a positioning for the gaming -- and storytelling -- to come in the Beyond Victory software.Whether the comic will get a wider release is unlikely, given specialty issues like these seldom do and we think it's unlikely a digital release or inclusion in a trade paperback isn't in the cards, either, meaning if you want to get a copy, the secondary market is poised to be your only choice. So far, 10 copies of have been sold on eBay, ranging from $25-$303. Another nine copies are still up for grabs, with prices ranging from $50-$219.We got our copy thanks to Kelly Knox, a writer of renown, and known for her work on the StarWars.com website. How to rid the oceans of plastic? Boyan Slat strives for the solution! He's the founder and CEO of "The Ocean Cleanup" – aiming to clean up 90% of ocean plastic pollution. At the age of 25, he leads a company with about 100 employees. I am really impressed by Boyan's story, his leadership and for tackling one of our major environmental issues, which many say is unsolvable. We met in Davos at the World Economic Forum. In my podcast Boyan shared his passion for environmental engineering and his solution on how to solve our environmental issues and the ocean plastic pollution. Their beta version recently proved successful in the great pacific garbage patch. The mission was completed and first plastic has arrived on shore. The Ocean Cleanup also aims to solve the cause of the problem – that's why "The Interceptor" was developed catching plastic pollution in rivers across the world. Ross Edgley swam 1,791 miles around the UK spending 157 days at sea – this is incredible! This podcast episode was so fun, Ross is not only an amazing sportsman but also a great entertainer ;-) Of course we spoke about his incredible performance being the first person to swim around Great Britain. David was faced with a decision after being anointed King over Israel and Judah, where was his base to be? Does he play it safe in Hebron, or take he riskier but option and take Jerusalem. Bill Clark opens our Beyond Belief series by exploring this dilemma facing David, and how we face the same dilemma regarding what God has called us to as a church. Beyond Victory to Vulnerability Beyond Belief | Week 1 February 3, 2019 | Bill Clark 2 Samuel 5:1-5 NIV All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “We are your own flesh and blood. In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’” When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years. 2 Samuel 5:6-10 NIV The king and his men marched to Jerusalem to attack the Jebusites, who lived there. The Jebusites said to David, “You will not get in here; even the blind and the lame can ward you off.” They thought, “David cannot get in here.” Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion—which is the City of David. On that day David had said, “Anyone who conquers the Jebusites will have to use the water shaft to reach those ‘lame and blind’ who are David’s enemies.” That is why they say, “The ‘blind and lame’ will not enter the palace.” David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces inward. And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord God Almighty was with him. Micah 6:8 (Paraphrase) Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justice now. Love mercy now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.
