Are y'all still there? Did you get raptured? No? We didn't, either. Nora and Jodi start off with the rapture that was announced on a podcast and, as far as we're aware, did not happen (0:30). Then they move on to some stories that are just so 2025, including Jimmy Kimmel's suspension (14:03), the 'Dawson's Creek' reunion (24:41), more victims of the ‘Jennifer Hudson Show' spirit tunnel (30:33), and the ‘One Battle After Another' press tour (43:02). In really important news, there's a new American Girl Doll of the Year, and her name is Raquel Reyes and she wants to be a DJ (47:20). Nora and Jodi share what they're watching, reading, and listening to in their first ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty'–less week, including Chris Briney's Quinn erotica (59:18), ‘The Morning Show' (1:09:11), ‘The Girlfriend' (1:18:45), and ‘The Housemaid' (1:25:25). Finally, they each share their personal obsession of the week (1:30:05). Hosts: Jodi Walker and Nora Princiotti Producers: Sasha Ashall and Belle Roman Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 365: DON DIABLO "The Visionary of Future House on Imposter Syndrome & Humanizing A.I." This week on @RoadPodcast, the crew sits down with future house pioneer @DonDiablo for a deep and personal conversation. At 01:55, Don talks about running on little sleep before his Pier 19 show and why NYC remains his biggest market. By 06:55, he explains why he avoids repeating sets, preferring Tomorrowland's smaller, darker stages over the main stage. At 12:20, Don reflects on his teenage years in the Dutch scene, from being taken advantage of as a young producer to being labeled a “weirdo” by peers. He admits that sometimes he hates being Don Diablo, finding true acceptance only through his fans. At 18:10, he recalls his production roots and the joy of creating purely for fun. By 24:55, the tone shifts as Don shares a powerful story about his father's illness, the lessons from their final conversations, and how this shaped his outlook on time, purpose, and music. He recalls writing songs like “The Artist Inside” as a tribute to his father, and performing it at his funeral, the most difficult moment of his career. At 37:55, Don speaks on the therapeutic nature of songwriting, before offering his perspective on AI at 44:01, viewing it not as a threat, but as a tool to make creativity even more human. Closing out at 1:01:44, Don dives into his Hexagon label, the video for “Anytime”, and the contracts he gave artists. At 1:05:01, he shouts out @BeatsourceOfficial, and at 1:18:45, leaves us with a quote to remember: “The devil works hard, but the DJ works harder.” This episode is sponsored by @SoundCollectiveNYC, an industry-leading music school, musical space and community located in downtown Manhattan for aspiring DJ's, Producers, Musicians and more. Soul of Sydney Podcast: Ron Carroll Tribute Mix (House, Gospel & Soulful House & Preacher House) A heartfelt tribute to the late, Ron Carroll (Rest In Peace), the legendary Chicago house producer, gospel singer, songwriter, and DJ who passed away earlier this week. Ron Carroll's powerful vocals, and preacher voice as well as his uplifting productions shaped the sound of soulful and gospel house for over three decades. From collaborating with house greats like Louie Vega, Ron Trent, Hardsoul, and E-Smoove, to penning timeless anthems such as Lucky Star and Back Together, his music carried the message of love, faith, and unity straight to the dancefloor and always resonated with us. For us at Ron Carroll's unique blend of Chicago house and gospel were the reason we first fell in love with Gospel House, and his influence runs deep in everything we do. We remember first seeing him play on a NYD in Sydney when he did a very special live PA & DJ set over 15 years ago. He showed us then how power GOSPEL HOUSE could be on a dancefloor & it has always stuck with us as a very special moment. This mix is our way of celebrating his life, legacy, and the joy he gave to dancers and dreamers around the world.

Corea In this episode of Turmeric & Tequila™, host Kristen Olson sits down with Wendy B. Corea—author, yogi, hiker, and healer—to explore her extraordinary life journey. #190: Have you ever wondered what happens when you finally silence that voice telling you to stick to your comfort zone? In this candid and refreshing episode, I dive into my recent adventures beyond the boundaries of my usual 8 PM bedtime – including an unexpected stint as an impromptu DJ at 1 AM and solo brunches that turned into meaningful connections with strangers. These experiences reminded me of the magic that happens when we simply say "yes" to life, much like when I read Shonda Rhimes' "Year of Yes" and transformed my approach to new opportunities. But this isn't just about staying out late or trying new restaurants – it's about the deeper lessons we learn when we allow ourselves to experience life beyond our self-imposed limitations. The conversation takes a thoughtful turn as I explore the complex world of beauty standards and aging. From my personal journey with facial fillers to the frustrating double standards that praise men for aging while expecting women to achieve the impossible – looking youthful without intervention – I unpack the contradictions we face daily. Most importantly, I share my realization that true beauty comes from making choices for ourselves rather than others, finding that delicate balance between self-acceptance and growth. Whether you're struggling with society's expectations or simply need encouragement to step outside your routine, this episode offers a judgment-free space to reflect on what truly matters. Join me in my challenge for the week: say yes to something unexpected AND extend yourself some grace when you look in the mirror. After all, we're all beautiful works in progress. You can now send us a text to ask a question or review the show. We would love to hear from you! Long before his collaborations with major artists like Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse and Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson was sneaking into nightclubs with his friend Sean Ono Lennon at 12 years-old. As he grew up, his status as a night person solidified when he became a DJ in hip-hop clubs in New York City. “It's so exciting that people are suddenly coming because they love the music that you've made,” Ronson says.Ronson explores his love affair with the music as he sits down with Vogue's Senior Editor Corey Seymour to talk about his new book “Night People: How to Be a DJ in '90s New York City.” Ronson gets candid about growing up in a musical family, the identity crisis he had in his early years as a performer and what it is like to set the tone for the party. “I am obsessed with the craft,” reflects Ronson as he retraces his past and pieces together the stories from his big nights and the celebrities who were a part of it.“All the music being made in New York at that time was kind of like the biggest music, at least in hip-hop.” recalls Ronson. “So, you had Jay-Z, Biggie, Little Kim, Tribe, and then you had Missy and Timberland and people from other places that were all in New York making their records and they would all come to the club and there I am with this front row seat to it.”The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. Hosted by Chloe Malle, Head of Editorial Content, Vogue U.S.; Chioma Nnadi, Head of British Vogue; and Nicole Phelps, Director of Vogue Runway, each episode features the latest fashion news and exclusive designer and celebrity interviews. He's worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Amy Winehouse. Now, he's released a new memoir, “Night People,” which traces his early years working as a DJ in nightclubs around New York City. Adrian Sherwood is known for his work as a producer, and while that term brings to mind those who simply put their often-subtle imprint on the recordings in which they’re involved, Sherwood’s approach is distinctive and heavily informed by the Dub music which he worked to distribute and to play as a DJ in London in the 1970’s. He has brought that sensibility primarily, but not exclusively, to electronic and electronic dance music, as well as many remixes of work by bands ranging from Depeche Mode, Sinead O’Connor, Primal Scream, Coldcut, and Skinny Puppy. His most recent solo record is 2025’s The Collapse of Everything. Sherwood will perform at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN in March of 2026. In this episode, he talks about how songs by Lee Perry, Mark Stewart, and Elvis Presley guided his musical development.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alec and Nick pull another unreleased conversation from the archive, recorded one year ago, discussing the “the miraculous” as a concept within music. The episode traces an idea of the miraculous as an occurrence in time that pulls you outside of an expected context, going beyond the perimeter of what is anticipated or even possible in that given moment. Questions around unrepeatable music, the unexplainable nature of the world, computation, chance and musical time, and more are discussed. What are the musical boundaries that define the orderliness of our experience of music? What are musical situations that could pull us out of this order? Improvised, determinate, and indeterminate music, Loren Connors, planes of consistency in technology, DJ culture and classical music are discussed.
