Name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. A merciful God who saves by grace. Feeling God’s Presence The great feeling of feeling God’s loving arms. Being lifted up in prayer. The Power of Faith A mustard seed can spread and grow. Faith will get stronger and mightier. God’s Presence in the Church God is here to meet needs. Contrast between churches with a cold feeling and those filled with the Spirit. The importance of letting God run a mince between all of us. Spirit-Filled Churches Spirit-filled churches allow people to shout and express joy. Avoiding long-windedness and focusing on God’s presence. Being on God’s side, not one’s own. Taking as much time as God wants. Needing more people to get that way for more blessings and joy. Praising God It’s impossible to please God. Wondering if we’re pleasing Him.

In this episode of Timeless Spirituality, Daniel explores the difference between faith and belief — and why the distinction matters. Through the lives of five iconic figures, he traces how each one held truth in a way that shaped the world.Martin Luther King Jr. carried a faith rooted not in certainty but in conviction, a faith that marched forward even when the road was dark. Albert Einstein found reverence not in religion but in the mystery and order of the cosmos. Marie Curie believed in process and persistence, trusting the slow, invisible work of discovery. Steve Jobs lived by vision and design, guided less by doctrine than by instinct. And Voltaire, sharp and defiant, put his belief in reason and the freedom to question power.Together, their stories show that belief can live in the mind, but faith lives in motion. Daniel invites listeners to sit with that distinction — to ask not only What do I think is true? but also What will I do because of it?

Understanding 1 John 5:6-8: The Testimony of Water, Blood, and SpiritIn this sermon, Pastor Rich Jensen centered around the profound and often debated verses of 1 John 5:6-8. These verses delve into the testimony of Jesus Christ through water, blood, and the Spirit, and their significance in affirming His divine nature and mission. Here, we explore the key points discussed in the sermon to provide a clearer understanding of these verses and their implications for Christian faith. The Foundation of Faith: Belief in Jesus as the ChristThe sermon begins with a reference to 1 John 5:1-8, emphasizing that belief in Jesus as the Christ is fundamental to being born of God. Loving God and keeping His commandments are intertwined, and these commandments are not burdensome because faith in Jesus overcomes the world. The Testimony of Water and Blood1 John 5:6 states, "This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies because the Spirit is the truth." - **Water**: Symbolizes the beginning of Jesus' ministry, marked by His baptism. At His baptism, the Father testified to Jesus' identity, and the Spirit descended upon Him, signifying His divine mission.- **Blood**: Represents the culmination of Jesus' earthly ministry through His crucifixion. The shedding of His blood was necessary for the remission of sins, fulfilling God's plan for salvation. The Role of the Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit is introduced as the third witness, testifying to the truth of Jesus' work. The Spirit's testimony is crucial for the church's ministry and the believer's assurance of salvation. Pastor Jensen underscores that the Spirit, water, and blood together provide a comprehensive testimony to Jesus' identity as the Messiah.Perseverance and WitnessesPastor references Hebrews 11 and 12, encouraging believers to persevere by learning from the examples of faithful men and women throughout biblical history. The "great cloud of witnesses" serves as a reminder to lay aside sin and run with endurance, fixing our eyes on Jesus. In summary, this sermon provides a thorough examination of 1 John 5:6-8, affirming the testimony of water, blood, and the Spirit to Jesus' divine nature and mission. This testimony is foundational to the Christian faith, offering assurance and encouraging perseverance. Explore the profound relationship between faith and works in James 2. This message delves into the question, 'What good is it if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?' Discover how faith without actions is dead and how true faith manifests in everyday actions. Using the analogy of paddling a canoe with one paddle, learn how faith and works must work together to move us forward in our spiritual journey. Addressing Christian nominalism, this message urges us to ensure our faith is a living, active force. Examples of Abraham and Rahab illustrate that true faith is demonstrated through actions. As children of God, our actions should reflect our identity in Christ, showing the transformative power of a life lived in obedience to God. Keywords: James 2, faith and works, Christian nominalism, Abraham, Rahab, spiritual journey, living faith, obedience to God.

Welcome to Class 3 of the "Foundations of Theology" I.Q. Church series taught by Luke and Jake! We're taking a break from our normally scheduled podcast series to bring you this teaching. In this session, we dive deep into two essential aspects of the Christian faith: Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the gift of salvation He brings. We explore how Jesus, being both fully God and fully human, is central to understanding the gospel and our relationship with God. Additionally, we unpack the multi-faceted nature of salvation and its transformative power in the believer's life. Key topics covered in this video: The Incarnation: Jesus as fully divine and fully human, and why that matters for salvation. An exploration of Christological heresies like Docetism, Apollinarianism, Nestorianism, and Monophysitism, contrasted with the orthodox understanding of Christ. Salvation as God's gift: understanding atonement, faith, justification, adoption, and sanctification. The Gift of Salvation: Substitution and Sacrifice: Christ died in our place. Christus Victor: Christ is victorious over sin, death, and evil. Reunion and Recapitulation: Christ reunites us with God and restarts the creation project. Demonstration and Devotion: Christ shows us how to live and influences us toward devotion. We also explore key aspects of salvation: Faith: Belief and allegiance to Christ. Justification: Receiving the gift of grace by faith (Ephesians 2:8-10). Adoption: Being brought into God's family and confirmed as His children (Romans 8:22-25). Sanctification: Growing in holiness and being set apart for God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:14). Movie Clips for Illustration: We use several movie clips to illustrate the Christological heresies and provide a visual understanding of key concepts before focusing on the correct biblical view of Jesus as one person with two natures.

MIRACLES FOR YOU Sondra Ray & Markus Ray on A Course in Miracles
To what do we apply our Faith, Belief, and Vision? We can apply them to the body, to sin, to the guilt that the belief in sin fosters. But this is the ego's use of very powerful forces to make illusions seem "real." It is time to change our mind in the use of these forces. Changing the purpose from "sin" to one of holiness invokes the Holy Spirit to move mountains that lift us to the heights of our happiness and well-being. Why would we not want to do that? It is impossible that we lack Faith, but to what do we give it? Faith in our holiness leads us to certainty. And it is with certainty that we can look upon our brother with equanimity and compassion. We use Faith to show us it is possible to believe in our goodness as God created us. And with this Belief firmly planted, we have a Vision of our holiness.

In this enlightening episode, Jeremy Griffin delves into the intriguing relationship between faith, belief, and the humble watermelon. Drawing inspiration from scripture, he explores the definition of faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. He also emphasizes the importance of works, as faith without action is deemed lifeless. To vividly illustrate his point, Jeremy employs the metaphor of a watermelon seed as a representation of faith. Just like the seed contains the potential for a delicious watermelon, faith holds the promise of what is hoped for, even though it may not yet be visible. However, if the seed is merely consumed and not planted, it loses its purpose and the faith it represents will wither away. It is crucial to take action and cultivate the seed for the possibility of bearing fruit. Planting and nurturing the seed symbolizes putting one's faith into practice through corresponding works. While we cannot make the seed grow on our own, by creating a favorable environment for growth, we can witness the fruition of our faith. Jeremy emphasizes that belief is the ultimate "fruit" of faith, and it flourishes when faith is nurtured and cultivated. Furthermore, Jeremy highlights the remarkable nature of the watermelon fruit. Not only does it provide sustenance when consumed, but it also contains numerous seeds. These seeds can be shared with others or planted, leading to exponential growth. Similarly, belief gained from cultivating faith has the power to nourish and inspire others, spreading further through the distribution of its "seeds." In closing, Jeremy encourages listeners to reflect on this metaphor and how it can guide them in their journey from having faith to developing a deeper belief through meaningful action. He reminds us to trust in God's role as the ultimate cultivator, while also inviting questions and discussions for further exploration. Tune in to this thought-provoking episode and discover how faith can blossom into transformative belief. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reduxchurch/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reduxchurch/support

Tim Broyles is truly someone who "walks the walk", is so generous with his time, talent and treasures and gives far more back to the world than he takes. Tim's actions and deeds are certainly exemplary of living a life for Christ. We will hear Tim's story and how his life unfolded with so many challenges, but by keeping the faith, pressing forward and believing that God had a plan for him, even though he couldn't see past the next turn, Tim ended up exactly in the place he was meant to be! Tim has experienced impressive success, with multiple State Farm agencies, (Tim Broyles State Farm Agent), serving multiple communities. He and his team have received many awards including State Farm President's Club, Ambassador Travel and Chairman's Circle, just to name a few. But Tim's passion is helping people, leading his family and doing the Lord's work. It really culminated during a mission trip to Uganda. He was there to help the desperate people in the country and ended up, after a long & arduous ordeal, adopting a young girl named Florence and giving her a life that she could only dream of. This story is still emotional as he tells it, even after all this time! You'll hear about Tim's community involvement, the reason he loves giving back and how he and his team support the communities they serve. Tim is truly a gem and a pleasure to be around. Henry starts with a quick review of several topics: fear of the Lord, Inward/Outward, the Kingdom of God. and true Repentance. He then reads the 15th proposition from Robert Barclay's Apology for the True Christian Divinity. This was followed by an excerpt from a work by William Temple. Finally there follows by a reading of the tract A Concise Account of the Religious Society of Friends by Thomas Evans. This tract is the focus of this and subsequent sessions. Henry then returns to a discussion from last week on the fruits of the Spirit. In response to a question, He explains the difference between a subjective wrong and an objective wrong. A participant tells the story of a mother and her children as an example of the danger of acting in one's own power. There is a potential cost for a true faith. The discussion focuses on those in history who have willingly paid that cost. The vastness of time and space highlights our insignificance and reminds us of eternal life. A Life that can and should begin before death. Henry explains the connection between the word savior, and the word heal. He then points out the fallacy in thinking that assenting to a belief or beliefs alone can bring salvation. The word “redeem" is explained. Henry proceeds to the meaning of the word “Christ" as the “Anointed one" and that this anointing is initially in everyone as a seed. The session finishes with a reading from 1John 2:27 which supports the truth of this Inward Anointing.
In episode 3 I touch on Faith & Belief being the energy behind our great ‘manifestations', for it is what carries us to the other side of our challenges; Reason to keep going, reason for our being in this life. So what do we believe in? Where are we placing our power? Do we truly believe that in which we say we do? The proof is in the pudding, but without faith, many times we lose hope in times of struggle. Without faith, we lose our way on the path towards achieving our goals and our dreams. Amongst these two principals, I share a few other key ingredients in developing strong character. Success comes in many forms, but never without challenges & consistent hard work. We aren't always dealt the best hand, but how we play our cards determines our results. We all have choices, do we fold or do we conquer? I refuse to accept my emotional traumas as my identity, I refuse to accept a label that boxes me in, I refuse to accept my learned behaviors to be ‘just the way that I am'. If I'm not free and thriving, healthy, and beyond my painful experiences.. I am not Alive, merely living. If I don't continue to push my own boundaries, what am I missing out on? Self Love is acceptance, but what are we truly accepting?
