Brad Zerbo and Jaytriot take listeners on a hilarious and deeply nostalgic ride through the songs they once hid from their friends—but secretly loved. From disco denials to new-wave confessions, the guys relive the moments that shaped their musical tastes, including the awkward childhood discoveries, the high-school peer pressure, and the unforgettable “caught red-handed” stories. The episode jumps through decades of guilty-pleasure classics: Bee Gees falsettos, Motown gems, Frank Sinatra bombast, 80s pop anthems, techno nostalgia, Bonnie Tyler melodrama, Chicago love ballads, and even glam-rock oddities that neither host would have admitted to liking back in the day. Their personal stories—Halloween costumes gone wrong, uncomfortable car-ride reveals, and cringe-yet-iconic party moments—bring the music to life with humor and heart. The guys also celebrate modern rediscoveries, genre mashups, and the joy of embracing the songs they once hid “deep underground.” The episode caps off with a surprise clip from GART and a tribute spin from The Rods, tying together family, fandom, and the music that shaped them.
On October 19th, a group of masked men broke into the Louvre in broad daylight and made off with some of France's crown jewels. Suspects are now in custody, but the online fervor is still going strong. On this episode of Critics at Large, Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz discuss the sordid satisfaction of watching a heist play out, both onscreen and off. They dive into the debacle at the Louvre, along with a range of fictional depictions, from the fantasy of hyper-competence in “Ocean's Eleven” to the theft that goes woefully awry in Kelly Reichardt's new film, “The Mastermind.” Part of the fun, it seems, lies in rooting for those who identify and exploit the blind spots of an institution. “Someone else, just like me, is seeing that everybody is an idiot. But, unlike me, they're able to best those people in charge,” Fry says. “It's an alternative morality—a morality of wits.”Read, watch, and listen with the critics:“The Mastermind” (2025)“Ocean's Eleven” (2001)Stella Webb's impression of “the Louvre heist Creative Director”Jake Schroeder's “Ballad for the Louvre”“Showing Up” (2022)“The Italian Job” (1969)“How to Beat the High Cost of Living” (1980)“Drive” (2011)“Le Cercle Rouge” (1970)“This Is a Robbery: The World's Biggest Art Heist” (2021)“Good Time” (2017)“George Santos and the Art of the Scam” (The New Yorker)New episodes drop every Thursday. Ever caught yourself doing something slightly disgusting but secretly satisfying? In this hilarious and candid episode, we dive into the socially unacceptable behaviors we enjoy behind closed doors! It all started with a friend's voice note confession: "Picking your nose is disgusting, but it's actually enjoyable and kind of relieving." What follows is a laugh-out-loud exploration of our hidden habits! Listeners call in with shocking confessions, including smelling socks after work, the satisfying ritual of peeling sunburned skin, and one listener's childhood admission of eating glue! We ask the philosophical question: Why do we find comfort in things society frowns upon?
Unwrap temptation.Let it melt slow.In this sultry spoken word, Mistress Karmel invites you into a world where pleasure tastes like dark chocolate and control drips like caramel. Each breath is a bite — a KitKat pause, an Almond Joy surrender, a Godiva indulgence taken one shiver at a time.Welcome to Chocolate Bound, where chocolate isn't candy…it's obedience in silk. 400 Episoden. Also seid gespannt. Großer Dank für eure jahrelange Unterstützung! Ihr seid die besten!

When "How We Heard It" was just a few weeks old in the summer of 2024, we posted an episode about guilty pleasures, featuring your veteran entertainment critics/hosts Wayne Bledsoe and Chuck Campbell confessing their love for art that other critics frown on - including Wayne's love of sunshine pop and westerns and Chuck's love of exotica and techno music. Some 15 months and 65 shows later, the guilty-pleasures episode remains one of the three most-listened-to episodes of "How We Heard It." So Wayne and Chuck - plus their engineer, songwriter/musician John T. Baker - decided to revisit the topic and own up to more embarrassing affections about what they find entertaining, including artists who often get looked down on (from New Age acts on Windham Hill Records to Peter, Paul and Mary), as well as mainstream musicals and novelty bands. Find out who likes Donna Summer, who likes the Pointer Sisters and who can't hide his love of high-voiced women. One of the guys loves the "bubblegum" rock of Three Dog Night, another loves the "yuppie rock" of Counting Crows and one of them can't tear himself away from those social media video compilations where people scare their loved ones, friends and family. These admissions may ding your hosts' credibility, but they aren't ashamed and don't think you should be ashamed of your guilty pleasures either. Well ... maybe they're a little ashamed. And maybe you should be too. But whatever: Life's too short to worry about the opinions of snobs.
