In April 2005, Osmanagić was invited to visit Visočica and its fortress ruins. During the visit Osmanagić noticed the pyramidal shape of Visočica hill. He subsequently wrote a book promoting the claim that the hill was the remains of an ancient, man-made pyramid, which he claimed was one of five colossal stone structures in the shape of a pyramid with an extensive prehistoric tunnel network. He named those structures "Bosnian pyramids", and established a charitable foundation, the 'Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation', to fund the promotion and investigation of the site. Osmanagić claimed that he wished to excavate in order to "break a cloud of negative energy, allowing the Earth to receive cosmic energy from the centre of the galaxy".In early 2006, geologists from the University of Tuzla analyzed core samples at Visočica. Their tests showed that the hill is composed of the same material as other mountains in the area: alternating layers of conglomerate, clay and sandstone. Excavations revealed layers of fractured conglomerate at Visočica, while those at Pljesevica uncovered cracked sandstone plates, separated by layers of silt and clay. Robert M. Schoch, associate professor of Natural Science at Boston University, said at the time, "What [Osmanagić has] found isn't even unusual or spectacular from the geological point of view. It's completely straightforward and mundane." In April 2006, twenty-one historians, geologists and archaeologists signed an open letter describing the excavations as amateurish and lacking proper scientific supervision.The 'Bosnian Pyramid' project is alleged to have done considerable damage to the archaeological heritage of the area, which contains ruins of a medieval capital, Roman observation post, and earlier remains. Ganadores del premio "Against all odds" en la First Lego League de Houston (USA) El equipo creó un prototipo de un sistema de apoyo psicológico para astronautas en misión. Mig Botics es un grupo de liceales de Migues que desarrolló su proyecto en el marco del programa Laboratorios Tecnológicos de Plan Ceibal. El equipo creó un sistema de apoyo psicológico para astronautas en misión y, por triunfar en las Olimpiadas nacionales de Robótica, participará de la competencia First Lego League (FLL) que se realizará en Houston, Estados Unidos. Los integrantes de Mig Botics explicaron en SobreCiencia que el proyecto consiste en generar una memoria pregrabada con recursos terapéuticos para ayudar a astronautas en el espacio que pudieran necesitar asistencia psicológica. Se basa en las experiencias ya vividas por otros astronautas, contaron. MIG BOTICS, está formado por Lautaro Ferraro, Lautaro González, Tamara Balaguer, Paulina Echeverría, Agustín de León, Tobías Iroa. Profesora: Soledad González. Dr Oliver Bogler talks to ecancer at the 2012 WIN Symposium in Paris about the WIN Consortium and clinical trials in biomarker research. The WIN Consortium was founded in a joint effort between Dr John Mendelsohn of MD Anderson Cancer Center and Prof Alexander Eggermont of Institute Gustave Roussy and focuses on building international collaborations for further research into translational and personalised medicine. Dr Bogler also discuses early phase clinical trials on biomarker research, with focus on the WINTHER trial, or WIN therapeutics. The trial aims to analyse the molecular characteristics of tumours and identify patient profiles; ultimately with a goal of using a variety of approaches to improve the lives of 200 patients, 50 from each participating centre. Prof Razelle Kurzrock explains how the WINTHER trial is using molecular data to determine which drugs specific patients should receive. This large scale study will be carried out across four continents and include patients with all types of tumour. The WINTHER trial will use both genetic sequencing in order to identify DNA mutations or abnormalities and RNA analysis to identify the appropriate treatment for patients who do not have recognised genetic abnormalities.
