Indie-Rock trio Post-Party have just released their brand new song 'Lap Around The Sun', as the lead single from their upcoming second EP. Proving themselves as one of the Irish acts to watch in 2024, their debut EP “We're Not Getting Any Younger” placed No. 3 in the Official Irish Independent Chart, alongside being supported on Spotify's New Music Friday, The Indie List and Hottest New Bands playlists. The new release celebrates the importance of letting go to move forward. Fast paced and energetic, this is a song for people who like the pacey guitar lines of The Strokes, the synths of The Killers and the vocal melodies of the classic Indie Rock revival. Since forming the band, they have played venues such as the Róisín Dubh in Galway, sold out headline Dublin and Belfast shows, toured Ireland and the UK, played main-stage slots at Sea Sessions and Indiependence and supported the likes of Lovejoy, Wild Youth and Inhaler. One of the biggest takeaways I had from the latest round of conferences was that I wanted to test out selling direct - and in specific, using Shopify as my bookstore. Over the past few weeks, I've been prepping and building out my new Shopify store and I'm in love. So, with that in mind, in today's podcast episode, I'm talking about my experience transitioning my website to a Shopify store. What's been working, what's been a pain... as well as why I think indie authors really need to start considering this as their next viable step toward INDIEpendence. Have a listen! Back in the spring, fresh off their sold-out Ireland & UK tour, I chatted with Dave of Irish pop band Wild Youth about their nostalgic new single 'Seventeen'! Over the summer, they've been busy with support slots for Lewis Capaldi and Westlife, along with an appearance at Indiependence. Their October Irish tour is on sale now and they have an imminent slot at Electric Picnic! Co-written by Conor O Donohoe & JC Stewart, and produced By Tristen Evans (The Vamps), Seventeen is the 1st single to be taken from Wild Youth's upcoming EP. ‘Seventeen' sees Wild Youth bring their signature hooky pop sound, that has brought them many hit singles including ‘Can't Move On', 'Champagne Butterflies', and ‘Making me Dance', combined with a fresh new indie pop style. Our creative energy kicks in when there is a problem to be solved! Don't miss this energizing convo on Age of Indiependence podcast with Quantum Assurance International's Director of Education, Amanda Mapp. It turns out clients want us to solve real problems, and over-apologizing keeps us from seeing the best outcomes. This is an episode you don't want to miss! Episode Highlights: Amanda believes that fear of judgment or rejection keeps us from taking risks because we don't see risk as something that will benefit us regardless of the outcome. (8:56) Amanda agrees with Katlyn that if we can educate our children to have a mentality change, it will be tremendous for their risk tolerance and desire to take more risks. (11:38) Amanda discusses why the price is the most painful aspect of a policy. (15:41) Amanda discusses what factors influence her satisfaction. (18:47) Amanda believes that in the insurance industry, we must be extra creative in order to solve challenges (25:44) Amanda explains that regardless of where we were raised geographically, how we sound in general, not just like the things we say, can affect how the call will flow, and that the person on the other end of the line will impact how that discussion goes. (27:10) Amanda emphasizes the importance of associates understanding that they too are consumers. (29:53) Amanda explains that, instead of sharing a story, we may ask some questions to learn more about the client's situation, which also builds connection and ultimately works towards the goal of addressing an issue. (32:14) Amanda explains that switching the roles of customer and associate is one method to encourage people to understand how something sounds. (33:38) Amanda discusses why it is important to practice dealing with situations in stressful scenarios. (36:24) Amanda mentions TikTok as a wonderful way to learn that has a lot of very excellent knowledge since there are so many extremely educated and really talented individuals on there sharing their experiences and spreading a lot of information (38:12) Key Quotes: “Being a success is subjective but somebody being satisfied is internal.” - Amanda Mapp “In insurance, we have to get extra creative with solving problems. Because we don't have a one size fits all solution for people, at least it shouldn't be that way. So, we have to think outside the box and think how do we, adjust coverages or look at different carrier options to make sure that a customer's problem is actually being solved at the end of the day.” - Amanda Mapp “I think there's a disconnect sometimes where our associates don't always realize that they're also consumers. So they put themselves in only the suit, you know, in the worker position, right? And they don't think about themselves as the consumer.” - Amanda Mapp Resources Mentioned: Amanda Mapp Linkedin Reach out to Katlyn Eggar Quantum Assurance International

In this episode of The Power Producers Podcast, David Carothers and co-host Kyle Houck interview Katlyn Eggar, Director of Education and Development at Quantum Assurance International and Host of the Age Of Indiependence podcast. Katlyn talks about the systems and technology that they created and the biggest lesson she learned in the insurance world. Episode Highlights: David introduces Katlyn Eggar. (1:30) Katlyn mentions that they have a direct channel with flagship call centers in Virginia and Texas, and they also have an agency channel that was launched this summer with agencies from, Hawaii to New York. (4:28) Katlyn shares that her role in the company is to help make sure that agents and their sales teams have the best onboarding programs possible, world-class education, and training. (4:42) Katlyn shares one of the first lessons that had to be learned was that it’s not enough to lean on the goals that the captive carrier set for the agency. (7:53) Katlyn shares that when it comes to training and education, incoming calls are as difficult as picking up the phone and dialing someone. Because you still have to build rapport with them, you still have to know them, put them at ease, and make them feel that they reached the right person. (14:45) Katlyn believes that just because someone's sitting in a call center and someone shopped online, and both of them are now connected, doesn't mean that the conversation has to be transactional. (16:23) Katlyn thinks that there’s a lot to be said on what some of the big direct call center models are doing that we shouldn't be quick to embrace, as agency owners. (21:19) Katlyn shares that we can learn from specialization and putting people in a department that makes sense for their natural talents and abilities in an area, where they can focus on the processes that make sense in the sales department and service department. (22:23) Katlyn mentions one of the things that she noticed was sometimes, people come on board and they're very passionate about one or two elements but they're not super well rounded yet. (26:14) Katlyn explains their system called VoiceOps. (29:49) Katlyn thinks that a lot of agencies join Quantum because they want to be part of their ecosystem and that family where they're surrounded by support and information that helps them build the program in their agency. (45:46) Katlyn mentions that having the right technology suite is a big part of becoming efficient. Because they need to focus on the data, to be able to track and measure the right things. (49:39) Katlyn shares her podcast entitled Age of Indiependence. (59:58) Tweetable Quotes: “My story started like so many other insurance agency stories. Started building the business one client at a time and figuring out what marketing looks like, how do we grow this business, and it was our family business that we put our heart, our soul, and our passion into, and it was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.” - Katlyn Eggar “When you're building a business from scratch, you feel like you are taking two steps forward and one step back every day in the beginning. So, there's just no end on how many lessons have to be learned to get that plane off the ground.” - Katlyn Eggar “Our goal is to create a well-rounded insurance professional that's equally passionate about insurance and protecting families, as they are creating that buying experience that empowers the client to make a buying decision that's in the best interest of their family so that they can end their shopping journey today.” - Katlyn Eggar Resources Mentioned: David Carothers LinkedIn Kyle Houck LinkedIn Florida Risk Partners The Extra 2 Minutes Katlyn Eggar LinkedIn Quantum Assurance International Age of Indiependence VoiceOps

(00:51) Chris mentions that Louisiana had the most hurricane landfalls ever recorded. (1:37) Chris shares that in 2019, they went to several parts of Oklahoma, Iowa, and Nebraska, meeting with flood victims, helping them mitigate issues, and provided them an appropriate rate, based on the actions they're willing to take. (6:01) Chris mentions that Arizona is one of the most frequently flooded areas because of the monsoon season. (6:44) Chris shares that wildfires create one of the biggest flood exposures because it takes FEMA a few years to change a flood map and to do a flood insurance study. (8:04) Chris shares that they use technology with Google or GIS and other platforms that could help them understand their flood risk. (8:46) Chris mentions that when he was in college he volunteered for the hazmat team. (10:13) Chris mentions that he started in the insurance industry in 2009, and worked at Liberty for six months. (10:45) Chris shares that three years ago, he took a video course from Nick Ayers called Major Live Video and it taught him more about videos. (14:05) Chris explains the reason why he created the video journey of 365 flood education videos. (15:07) Chris shares that this December, he’s about to hit 700 videos in 700 days and his goal is to reach 1,000 videos in 1,000 days. (15:33) Chris shares that they use YouTube as their video platform and have a playlist for insurance agents, realtors, lenders, and more. They’re also building out a knowledgebase article system on their website. (18:53) Chris mentions that he has Virtual Assistants that are working on his videos and makes the process easier. (21:12) Chris shares what Vidyard is all about. (29:54) Chris shares that he grew up with learning disabilities. Therefore, having a passion for education has always been the core focus of their company. (40:25) Key Quotes: “It’s not all about selling all these policies. For me, it's about diving in deep and finding a solution. Honestly, that to me, is the biggest one, I just enjoy that.” - Chris Greene “What people don't realize is a piece of content doesn't have to be a blog that doesn't have to be a video. What I tell people is that an image can say more than 1,000 words, a lot of times.” - Chris Greene “Our whole goal is to be an extension of your team. Our whole goal is at the end of the day to make your agency look like a rock star, like a commercial agent of the day to Hey, you completely saved me on this deal and made me look good to the client. In this episode of Age of Indiependence podcast, host Katlyn Eggar interviews Justin Eggar, the CEO & Co-Founder of Quantum Assurance International. Justin talks about his experience working with his spouse, the struggle and success in building their agency, and how the pandemic made an impact on their agency and their family as well. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces her husband, Justin Eggar. (1:28) Justin thinks that the pandemic has expanded their understanding of the possibilities of working from home. (4:07) Katlyn mentions that 9 years ago they opened their first scratch agency in Geneva, Illinois. (8:09) Justin mentions that their first agency was located in a building that was built in 1920 and it used to be a candy store. (4:36) Just shares that over the ensuing years, they grew from one agency and then a couple of years later they opened their second agency. (10:49) Justin thinks that part of their success is that they lean on each other. (11:35) Katlyn mentions that they have been using internet leads as a primary marketing source since 2011. (14:06) Justin mentions that they have been working together since 2011. (12:13) Justin shares that captive carriers have a mindset where they put arbitrary goals because they want to have elements that are hard to chase. (17:25) Justin shares the reason why they had more than a 90% retention on internet leads as they were building their organization. They learned to do it the right way and ensured that their frontline salespeople were doing it the right way as well. (23:50) Justin mentions that agents must not look at what's bringing in the most revenue in your agency. Rather, look at what's bringing the most profit into your agency and see where you can replace yourself. (24:09) Justin shares that they started in a place where they were small hometown agents and over the years they continued to refine and grow. Since then, it allowed them to continue to scale through those plateaus over the years to where Quantum is today. (30:24) Katlyn mentions that when an insurance agency owner succeeds, it creates a ripple effect. (37:39) Justin mentions that Katlyn did a course on process mapping for agencies that the Quantum agents have. (48:29) Key Quotes: “I know that people believe they can work with their spouse but it's all about separating job duties, having respect for each other, and having a common purpose. If you can align in a couple of those things, certainly anything's possible. I got lucky we have a great working relationship. We have a really fun time together.” - Justin Eggar “You can't trust a carrier to have your best intention when it comes to the goals they're putting on the board. You need to have your own goals as a business owner.” - Justin Eggar “Legally, we're an insurance organization, but the heart of what we are is to create an incredible agency solution welcoming agents into the next 10 to 20 years and provide a good home for them.” - Justin Eggar Resources Mentioned: Agency Intelligence Reach out to Katlyn Eggar Justin Eggar LinkedIn Quantum Assurance International Advertisers: AI Mastermind- Sign up for AI Mastermind from December 20th to December 31st. Mallory talks about the significance of having a good coaching culture that’s beneficial in growing your business. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces Mallory Leonard. (1:03) Mallory mentions that she was living in San Diego for 10 years when she had her agency at Allstate agency and eventually sold the agency in 2019. (1:53) Mallory shares that she started as a Sales Producer for an agency and grew a book business on the broker side, at the same time. (4:55) Mallory shares that if you treat your agency like a retail location, you're going to get retail employees. Therefore, she treated her employees like professionals. (6:30) Mallory mentions that you have to make sure that you're putting people in place who have the right leadership skills. But if they don’t, help them and cultivate them to be a good leader. (8:29) Mallory thinks that setting strategic goals with your employees is helpful for the growth of the operation. (10:13) Mallory mentions that written expectation of what you want from them, on a production level or a productivity level is a huge factor. But if they’re not hitting the right actions, figure out what was the obstacle. (14:01) Mallory shares that collaborating with your employees and finding out what would make them love being in your office is vital. (19:48) Mallory shares that if you have a disciplinary situation and they’re used to having a conversation with you, it becomes a bit easier. Because they're used to having that relationship and that ability to communicate with you. (24:59) Mallory thinks that what you need to look at is their ability to sell and be able to recognize if that person is in the right role. (26:56) Mallory explains how her goal sheet could be a helpful tool. (27:50) Mallory shares that if you have the right organization and the right employee, join them in the meetings and work as a team in that way, you create a mentorship between your employees. (37:59) Mallory thinks that the biggest mistake people make as a leader is assuming that they know what's best for everyone. (41:02) Key Quotes: “I swore off insurance. I have never even worked in insurance again. But I was young and I even didn't realize that it wasn't insurance that I didn't like, it was the culture and the breakdown of the office. And I always said, I would never let my employees feel the way I felt in that organization ever again.” - Mallory Leonard “Giving them an understanding of what they are there for, right? So, they're not just there to sell insurance, they're not just there to service your policies, they're there to see these growth paths, and they need to own it just as much as you do.” - Mallory Leonard “You can't expect your middle producers to be your best producer, there's always going to be someone in the middle ground, and you can push them to get there. So, I'd rather have two producers that did average than, one high-end producer because if I lose them, I'm screwed.” - Mallory Leonard “I think the biggest thing to remember is that our human nature is that we thrive on structure, right? We thrive on process and accountability. So, this is your time to give them that structure, that process, and that accountability that they're not getting anywhere in their life right now.” - Mallory Leonard Resources Mentioned: Agency Intelligence Reach out to Katlyn Eggar Mallory Leonard - LinkedIn ExecHQ Advertisers: AI Mastermind- Sign up for AI Mastermind from December 20th to December 31st. They pay tribute to the CEO and founder of Zappos, Tony Hseih, and share how Tony made an impact on them and left a legacy. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces Jeff Shi and Zack Gould. (1:43) Zack shares that he started G&N from scratch with Matt in 2010, and they both spent a couple of years at Liberty Mutual. (2:37) Zack mentions that they ran the company for 10 years and recently exited the company and sold it to another insurance agency, but currently run the agency. (2:47) Jeff mentions that he’s a huge fan of Tony Hsieh’s books and a lot of agents from his captive career came to him because he has built a different model of scaling. (3:43) Jeff shares that Tony makes other people's dreams come true and has done it twice. (5:01) Zack thinks that a lot of entrepreneurs who started had an immense amount of pressure that they have a lot to figure out early. (6:42) Zack mentions one of the big takeaways that he took from Tony's early story when they were first building Zappos, is to never outsource your core competency. (7:13) Jeff thinks that the biggest challenge of being a CEO and leadership role is the cash flow and cash reserve, people, and lead sales and marketing. (10:13) Jeff mentions that Tony does an amazing job when he does interviews to make sure that whoever is interviewing, fits their culture. (11:32) Zack mentions that customer service is the backbone of the company, and he wished that he did that. (18:11) Jeff suggests that visiting the Zappos office is a must and worth the visit. (33:03) Zack shares that when they sold their company to the current parent company, they didn't agree with their core values and made the decision not to carry their core values over to their company. (43:21) Zack mentions that Tony believed in people colliding with other people, and the conversations that they would have and what would come from those conversations. (44:49) Zack shares that as insurance agents, if we can focus our energy on customers and not focus our energy on our competitors, it would be a much more beautiful place to work. (53:35) Key Quotes: “You set up a beer or coffee just to say, let's just break bread. Let's chat and what have you. Tony did that so regularly. And that's such a great message for entrepreneurs to put the jacket and suit down. And just to grab a coffee and grab a beer and meet eye to eye with your team.” - Zack Gould “I love the whole core value thing. This is what we build. This is what we're proud of and let us continue to build the thing that we are proud about to build that legacy.” - Jeff Shi “I want to be known as a guy who cared. I tell people on their first day, you can ask anybody at G&N and I say the same thing 10 years from now. I do not care if you're working at G&N. I hope you are, but that's your decision and that's our decision. Together, you do not have a lifetime contract here. What I do hope is 10 years from now, if I see you, we can grab a beer because we're on those kinds of terms.” - Zack Gould “One of the legacies I want to leave behind is to show people the school doesn't define you, your job doesn't define you, college doesn't define you. (8:38) Brandon mentions that their heartbeat is their people and the importance of helping them in the financial crisis that they’re facing. (29:48) Brandon mentions that the most significant part of sales is the transition from the proposal to the close. (31:05) Brandon shares that his passion is to challenge people and producers in the insurance industry, whether it's a vendor, carrier, or agent to be the best version of themselves, to encourage them to keep doing what they're doing, and focus on what really matters. (39:23) Brandon shares how the Producer Development Program started and what it’s all about. (43:39) Key Quotes: “Our mission, our goal is to end the financial crisis in families. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces Dr. Billy Williams. (1:19) Billy shares that he’s a retired army, and 21 years after serving in the military, he took a Ph.D. in finance. (2:18) Billy mentions what made him leave Allstate after 4 years, was because they were not allowed inside to open an agency, and they were only selling outside. (04:07) Billy shares that he opened his first independent agency in April 2008, and today, they have more than 160 agencies under the Williams Family Investment Group, $1.2 billion in premium, and more than 2,000 members at Inspire a Nation Business Mentoring. (05:06) Billy mentions that when you’re getting ready to grow, they have a mentor that you can attend and they are not part of your ownership, but they will teach you how to grow. But if you decide to grow bigger and you want a team of people to help you in growing bigger, take a look at investing. (11:34) Billy mentions the main issue that stops agencies from growing is unmanaged emotions. (12:50) Billy shares the three types of unmanaged emotions and those are mental, physical, and purely emotional. (13:04) Billy mentions that ego is what we do, arrogance is what we refuse to do, and our insecurities are based on our history. (14:05) Billy shares the four types of discipline and those are self-discipline, accountability, automation and technology, and outsourcing. (16:23) Billy explains the S4TS model that they teach and live by, at Williams Family Investment Group and Inspire a Nation Business Mentoring. (20:13) Billy shares that there are only 14 tasks, every week in an agency. (24:47) Billy mentions that you shouldn’t implement a process in your agency unless you've placed the tools and automation in place before, bringing it to your people. (26:56) Billy shares that he finished his Ph.D. in 2002. Therefore, it took him 20 years to become Dr. Williams. (34:57) Billy mentions that KPIs are not results. Because KPIs produce results. (36:21) Billy shares that as an insurance agency owner, they only have three jobs. It’s hiring, training, and accountability. In this final episode of the Agency Intelligence podcast miniseries, Age of Independence, host Katlyn Eggar is joined by Jason Cass, giving insights about her interviews and experiences with the rock stars of the insurance industry. Katlyn also discusses how the Age of Indiependence became a huge part of her journey and where that journey is headed. Episode Highlights: Katlyn thinks that one of the greatest factors about guest hosting a podcast is the opportunity to interview such amazing guests and be joined by rock stars in the industry. (2:11) Jason shares one of the reasons why they made Agency Intelligence is because people wanted him to take the interview a bit further than he did on Agents Influence. (3:10) Jason mentions that they will be working with Kelly Donahue-Piro and her company, Agency Performance Partners, at The Insurance Alliance, starting in January 2021. (4:11) Katlyn discusses the podcast episode with Kelly Donahue-Piro entitled, What Your Team Isn’t Telling You Through Big Changes. (4:53) Katlyn mentions that in January 2021, they want to use that opportunity to turn over a new leaf. (6:329) Katlyn shares that the Konmari method is about decluttering, getting rid of the noise, and keeping the things that you love. (8:30) Jason discusses the podcast episode with Alejandro Velez entitled, Competing with the Goliaths. (10:14) Katlyn shares that some call centers do effective tasks. Therefore, the challenge is to not let our disdain, for the things that they're doing poorly hold us back from being able to pull the curtain back. (11:17) Katlyn thinks that efficiency is more significant than speed. (11:49) Katlyn mentions one of the huge challenges they had as local insurance agents was to achieve economies of scale. (13:44) Katlyn shares that the Age of Indiependence has been valuable for her because she started as a captive agent, and it was a big milestone for her, transitioning from the captive world to being an independent agent. (23:15) Key Quotes: “My goal with these episodes has been, to bring a perspective that is new and fresh, but it's something that an agency of any size could walk away with some tangible takeaways, some new ideas, and some things that you can put into practice, every once in a while.” - Katlyn Eggar “At the end of the day, we're going to create more opportunity for people in our communities that need the best job in the world which we have waiting for them in our offices, and it's going to change our lifestyle because we're going to go from just slogging it out every day trying to get out of doing things the same way, to being the coaches, the leaders, and the world changers that we want to be.” - Katlyn Eggar Resources Mentioned: Agency Intelligence Reach out to Jason Cass Jason Cass LinkedIn Katlyn Eggar LinkedIn Advertisers: Podium Veruna
In this episode of the Agency Intelligence podcast miniseries, Age of Indiependence, host Katlyn Eggar interviews Alejandro Velez, Director Of Strategic Alliances at Quantum Assurance International. Alejandro talks about what agencies can learn from call centers and what call centers should be learning from agencies. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces Alejandro Velez. (0:58) Alejandro mentions that he’s a giant insurance nerd. (2:40) Alejandro mentions that the way he got into insurance was very happenstance, and when he worked at a call center insurance company, he went to the claim side. (8:38) Alejandro thinks that there’s a certain level of criticalness to the understanding of insurance. Because when you're purchasing insurance, what you're literally purchasing is the claims experience and claims protection should the need arise. (9:22) Alejandro mentions that insurance takes a bad day and prevents a bad life. (12:14) Alejandro shares that when he was in claims, he was defending the arbitrations coming in from the other insurance companies that were suing their insurance. (12:45) Alejandro shares that when you’re in a traditional call center setting, you’re talking about your average handling times and what percentage of the time you were available to take calls. Therefore, the focus is always going to be speed. (16:29) Katlyn shares that one of the best tools in her tool belt is the quality of consultation and the connection, the conversation with her client, the time and care that she’s spending with her client, and keeping those aspects as a part of the heart and soul of her agency. (19:27) Alejandro mentions that in his 15 years of being an insurance nerd, he hasn’t figured out a way to make a solid recommendation without knowing what it is you're protecting. (25:22) Alejandro mentions that quote live is where the customer calls in and they get the quote before ending the call. (26:45) Alejandro shares that you must not lose the opportunity to build rapport and connect to the customer. (30:19) Katlyn shares that there's such a focus on referrals and marketing in the local community that sometimes, an online presence can accidentally get left by the wayside. (35:37) Alejandro thinks that nowadays, having an online presence offers a level of validity and credibility. (36:26) Key Quotes: “I do enjoy reading or listening to books. But really, my heart goes into the insurance world. I am constantly reading insurance journals. I am heavily interested in what's happening in the industry as a whole.” - Alejandro Velez “Everyone wants to make an impact, everyone wants to help others and unfortunately, the insurance industry gets a little bit of a bad rap when it comes to that. Because no one really wants to deal with insurance. But when you need your insurance, you need your insurance.” - Alejandro VelezResources Mentioned: Agency IntelligenceWe Got Your Podcast Reach out to Jason Cass Katlyn Eggar LinkedIn Alejandro Velez LinkedIn Quantum Assurance International Advertisers: Veruna Tarmika
In this episode of the Agency Intelligence podcast miniseries, Age of Indiependence, host Katlyn Eggar interviews Kelly Donahue - Piro, President at Agency Performance Partners. Kelly talks about the key challenges agencies face, how you should invest in your team, and why it’s helpful to have an outside perspective to help your agency transform. Episode Highlights: Katlyn introduces Kelly Donahue - Piro. (1:39) Kelly shares that she has worked with over 1,000 independent agencies within the US and Canada. (2:34) Where did Kelly get the passion for helping agency owners? (3:24) Kelly mentions that the insurance industry is the most stable business on the planet. (6:10) Kelly thinks that as people go through significant changes, it’s vital to keep in mind three elements. (9:46) When it comes to common threads, what are some of the mindset changes in agencies that Kelly and her agencies have partnered together to tackle? (13:59) Kelly explains that a company’s biggest investment every month is payroll. (15:08) Kelly shares that nowadays, it’s beneficial to invest in your team to have strong time management skills because you're going to hit in all different directions, and most of it is disorganized. (16:39) Katlyn believes that clients deserve options, and being in a role where you can provide professional advice and make sure that their family's taken care of is wonderful. (20:28) As independent insurance agents, how does Agency Performance Partners work with clients to make sure that they're best protected, without price becoming the focus of everything that they do? (21:02) Kelly explains the three key challenges that she sees in the frontline team. (21:17) Kelly mentions that you have to find something significant to your target market and grab it. (24:29) Kelly shares that agency owners have ideas in their heads of what producers are supposed to be doing and what an account manager is supposed to be doing. But at the desk level, the work coming in hasn't changed. (34:13) Key Quotes: “A lot of times small things make a big difference, but sometimes it's difficult decisions whether it's putting people in different seats on the bus, installing a process, and retraining people into better ways of doing things.” - Kelly Donahue - Piro “I think sometimes when you're inside of an agency, it's very cloudy. You need someone from the outside saying, hey, these are the couple steps we can do and we'll get there together. So I love what I do. I wake up every morning excited to do what I do and I think that in a lot of ways, it's the biggest blessing you've ever had.” - Kelly Donahue - Piro “You have to look at the numbers and have trust and faith in them. That’s the biggest challenge we see if you look at a report and you don't have faith in it, your staff won't have faith in it, and it just becomes a paperweight.” - Kelly Donahue - Piro Resources Mentioned: Agency Intelligence We Got Your Podcast Reach out to Jason Cass Katlyn Eggar LinkedIn Kelly Donahue - Piro LinkedIn Agency Performance Partners Advertisers: ePayPolicy Agency VA

Tolga talks about the power that a highly trained and highly motivated team can have in an agency, and the significance of technology to an agency. (5:12) Tolga shares that they are where they are today, because of their cultural adaptation. (8:36) What are some of the differences that Tolga has seen in the struggles that agency owners are facing? (11:05) Tolga mentions that the biggest change that he has seen is an increased appetite for technology. (12:54) Katlyn shares that in the insurance world, the agency owner is viewed by the carrier as a distribution point or distribution channel. (17:14) For the agency owner, what are some key elements that they need to be able to get visibility on before they can hold their team accountable for big changes? (18:52) Katlyn thinks that accountability is a challenge within organizations in every department and a huge challenge for the leaders. (22:49) How would Tolga reinvest the time, talent, energy, and resources into transforming the agency into a sales organization? (27:37) Tolga shares that you should be creative in how to keep your people motivated, fairly compensate them, and let them grow together with your agency. (29:49) Katlyn thinks that team culture and being all about people still exists in an agency that has a sales organization mindset. (32:21) Tolga believes that when you make your customers happy, you become happy. (36:46) Tolga shares that you should view automation in a way that it can help your agency on both sides, and sales enablement is an area where there's a tremendous need in the independent space. (38:18) Tolga mentions that proactive engagement is going to win the future. (23:35) Jason shares that they’re going to turn over the Agency Intelligence podcast to Katlyn, and for a mini-series, entitled Age of Indiependence. (25:27) Katlyn believes that agents could learn a lot from call centers and call centers could learn a lot from agencies, as well. (27:57) Key Quotes: “You have to have a blueprint when you're scaling and growing an agency, or else it feels a little bit like throwing paint at the wall, a lot of trial and error. So we really believe that with the right game plan, the agents can make a really big splash in the insurance ecosystem, we heavily invest in the agency model, we believe in agents because that's where it all began for us.” - Katlyn Eggar “We carried with us a passion for seeing the other agents that were growing their businesses alongside us seeing them succeed and growing, as well, and every day I get to come to work and help agents succeed. And I love sharing game plans and tips, and best practices, and things.
