Welcome back to Drummers on Drumming, the podcast powered by Big Fat Snare Drum. This is another segment of Big Fat Five, where I invite my favorite drummers to break down the five records that shaped their approach to the instrument. Today, I'm joined by my friend Chris “Woody” Wood, drummer for the internationally loved band, Bastille. Since exploding onto the scene with Bad Blood in 2013, Bastille has become a staple of modern alt-pop—balancing sweeping, atmospheric moments with massive sing-along choruses. Woody's playing is a perfect example of how space, groove, and feel can elevate a song without ever getting in the way—something especially crucial in an arena-sized band like Bastille. But make no mistake, he still finds his moments, keeping his playing fresh, musical, and relevant for well over a decade. Beyond the kit, Woody is just a hilarious and thoughtful dude. He even co-hosts his own podcast, Away Days w/ Woody and Piers, a comedic deep dive into the world of away football fandom. We get into all of that and more—while uncovering the five records that shaped him into the drummer he is today. --- Get Your Copy of the Drummers on Drumming Book Today!

Hey Fandom! Welcome back for another episode of Roundtable Recap and this week we are back in our natural habitats so expect some tomfoolery! This week your Challenge Fandom Podcast hosts Rick, Corrina and Josh get together to recap MTV's The Challenge season 40 "Battle of the Eras" episode 6 "My Real Friends Era" but first, we kick off with a couple of stories about our trip to Detroit, what it was like recording at GOHT Media studios where The Zach Nichols Podcast is recorded, our adventures on a pedi-bike and Josh tells a hilarious story about his new Vespa (0:00 - 18:00). Then we break into the opening part of this episode and discuss the episode titling system for this season, what the point of this photo foreshadow was, are Laurel and Cara truly like big sister/little sister, did Jenny handle the situation with her team correctly, Nehemiah's gift to Jonna and does Jelly Belly have a new Banana flavor?! Next we break down the daily including our thoughts on Laurel and Cara's speeches to their team, whether or not Cara should have thrown the daily challenge and Derrick's resiliency! Next we crack into the nomination ceremony by discussing Josh and Jenny's decision to call a team meeting and then ignoring the points made in the meeting, Bananas exploiting Josh's emotions in nominations, Cory's speech game and what needed to happen in order for Josh to have the guts to do what he needed to do in this moment. We also discuss the highly disappointing club scene including Derrick Kosinski being knowledgeable about buildings around the world, Bananas attempt at dismantling Devin and Michele's relationship and whether or not it's okay to self nominate with conditions. Lastly we discuss the elimination including our overall thoughts on it, what our strategy would be and was this one of the "stupid things" Bananas would have been good at? We close out by discussing the overall gameplay, whether or not the target choosing order gives the newer eras an advantage, new target breakdown, what's missing on Season 40 that we were expecting, overall season ratings, episode grade and of course our MVPs and lines of the night! All this and even more now available on this 180th episode of The Challenge Fandom Podcast! Thank you all for your love and support these last 3 years, we can never tell you what it means to us! Welcome to "Last day of summer at the Jelly Belly factory" on What's The Matter With Me? Podcast. I asked my artificial intelligence tool what this episode was about, and it summarized it thusly: The main idea of this episode is a stream of consciousness narrative where you share updates on various topics, including your experiences visiting a Jelly Belly factory, your interest in music, your thoughts on different sayings and maxims, an accident where you hit your head and had to get staples, and some personal reflections and anecdotes. The passage covers a range of topics and thoughts that are currently on your mind. Without further ado... Reggae bible study Have you been studying your reggae bible? I haven't, but on Dj Robert Rankin's Solid Foundation reggae show I heard the lyric, "The race is not for the swift, but who can endure." I googled it, and it's from the Bible, a riff on Ecclesiastes chapter 9, verse 11. The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Ecclesiastes 9.11 This could relate to people in wheelchairs, who aren't very fast, but who have the strength to endure what is happening to them. Hotter than rats in a sack The family went to Fairfield and Suisun City for the kids' last day of summer break. It was 98 degrees in Fairfield, but the Jelly Belly factory was climate-controlled. Afterwards, we went to Retroactive Records and Games in Suisun City. More Maxims Mean what you say and say what you mean. Those who say don't know, and those who know don't say.Smile now, cry later. Pile it up high They put me on a medication that causes drowsiness and I'm like add it to the pile. Thankfuilly, that was last week and now I'm off it. Meanwhile, I am working on reordering the shoes in my correct size, but its not exactly going smoothly. To top it off, my AFO brace is still broken and tough to walk in. Trying to get up, I fell and hit my head and cut myself. After some cajoling, I went to the ER and got four staples. I admit that I'm glad I did. Next week, I'll go in to the office and get them removed. New music adds Looking over the list, I can see that this week's music run-down is guaranteed to freak out the squares. Nine Inch Nails do soundtracks, Portishead stepped on a Lego, Gravy Train go up-market, and extreme hardcore vocal interplay - this week's music adds have a little bit of something for everybody. Don't let your life go silent. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (Original Score) by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Enemy of Love by The Body & OAA No Jack Swing by Brontez Purnell CHOKE!
