Thanksgiving's right around the corner, and David and Justus are celebrating with this obscure 80's Thanksgiving slasher. It might have three different official titles and be really hard to find on the internet, but that can't be because it's a bad movie, right? Set the table and say grace with David, Justus, gigachad slasher Terry, Condom Salesman Ted Raimi, and Sloppy Drunk Single Mom. That's not cranberry sauce, it's a delicious Thanksgiving themed installment of the Greatest Movie Ever Made! Blood Rage (1987) is directed by John Grissmer and stars Louise Lasser, Mark Soper, Marianne Kanter, Julie Gordon, and Jayne Bentzen. Music: “Fractals” by Kyle Casey and White Bat Audio
Blood Rage (1987) Directed By: John Grissmer Starring: Louise Lasser, Mark Soper, Julie Gordon, some fucker named Brad Maybe you know it as "Nightmare at Shadow Woods" or "Slasher" (real original name there), but we're talking about the 1987 film Blood Rage, which takes place around American Thanksgiving - a pair of young twins get up to twin stuff, you know, like murdering some dude at the drive in. The bad one blames the good one and the good one goes away. But now it's 10 years later and the good one is getting out, so is there hell to pay? IMDB describes this movie as: "A boy kills a man and accuses his twin brother of the murder, and the innocent brother ends up institutionalized, while his psychotic twin goes free. 10 years later, the innocent twin escapes, which triggers his brother into killing again." Something something something, a weird relationship with the mother and hilarity ensues. We Also Talked About: Blood Harvest (TubiTv) Gilmore Girls (Season 7) (Netflix) Meth Gator (TubiTv) Repligator (TubiTv) I'm sensing a theme here... This is NOT your mother's menopause, Sisters! Yes, it is the time of life when you can no longer procreate (Hallelujah to that!), but it's also the time of life to start creating the life YOU want. Don't believe it? Our guest, Julie Gordon White, will surely change your mind. Julie Gordon White is an award-winning entrepreneur focused on improving suppportive nutrition and building community for women in midlife and menopause. She is an expert on the intersections of nutritional science and menopause. Julie is the founder of MenoWell Energy Bars (Bossa Bars). These energy bars are made expressly for women in all stages of menopause to optimize the nutrition our bodies are craving as we go through "the change." They're also one of Oprah's selections as a Best Menopause Product. Julie is working to redefine and empower the experience of menopause and midlife for women and she herself is a glowing example of midlife reinvention. She believes in facing 50 head-on, pivoting, reinventing, and owning midlife as the best time in life. Abby and Julie open the podcast discussing why Abby is a little wary about her private psychotherapy clients discovering Sisters Cracking Up.
In this inspiring episode, Julie Gordon White shares her personal struggle with menopause symptoms like hot flashes and sugar cravings, and how she channeled that experience into creating MenoWell Energy + Protein bars. MenoWell, named an Oprah Daily Best Menopause Product are delicious plant-powered, low calorie, gluten-free snacks formulated to help women manage sugar cravings, shed stubborn weight gain, and boost energy during the challenging stages of menopause. At 55, Julie Gordon White decided to lose her menopause belly fat, become as healthy as possible, and get control of her sweet and salty cravings. Through trial and error, she started making energy bars to keep cravings from sabotaging her effort. Her creation yielded a satisfying snack and resulted in Julie losing 10 pounds, having less brain fog, less fatigue, and feeling ten times better overall! In August 2020, Julie and a mostly menopausal team of experts turned her plant-based recipe into a delicious, all-natural, gluten-free energy bar with powerful ingredients to support female nutrition during menopause. Her MenoWell bars energize women and empower them on their menopausal journey. In this episode, Nada sits down with Julie to discuss their parallel paths in the entrepreneurial and midlife spaces. Julie shares how she always told her coaching clients not to pursue product-based ventures because the margins are small. Ignoring her own advice, she took on the challenge and created the first-ever functional food formulated for women in the stages of menopause.Check out MenoWell's website and stock up on four flavors of Julie's bars. Julie recommends adding 10x Is Easier Than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy to your bookshelf. I don't subscribe to the idea that women, as we get older, we just fall apart. This may sound crazy, but I believe menopause is empowering…after so many years of caring for so many people, this is our time. ~ Julie Gordon White Have you experienced “the pause?” As women, we are all destined to experience menopause, should we reach the age. If we believe the media, that's when we go from Snow White to the old crone–shriveled, dried up and useless. But Julie Gordon White knows it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, with the proper education, nutrition and effort, menopause can be a time of opportunity and growth. Julie researched the topic and learned that most doctors receive only 1-2 hours of education on menopause, not nearly enough. In fact, Julie learned that menopause is not a life-sentence, it's actually a single day that defines the end of a woman's cycle. After realizing that menopause needn't be an end, Julie founded a company that provides nutritious, energy packed snack bars to help manage symptoms and build a powerful mind and body during menopause. Further, Julie has created a movement where women can talk about a subject that's been taboo for far too long. With a strategy, menopause symptoms can be managed and women can expect to live powerful productive lives for many years to come. Here at Brilliantly Resilient, we believe that self-care is essential to living a healthy, productive and happy life, and that age should never dictate how successful we are when sharing our Brilliantly Resilient gifts with the world. Tune in to hear more of Julie's wisdom, and order some Menowell Bars today! Be sure to listen for these additional bits of brilliance from Julie: We have to educate ourselves as women. We can't depend on our medical professionals because they don't always know. Visit menopause.org. and educate yourself. Then it's about nutrition because what we put in our bodies matters. There are 34 plus symptoms surrounding menopause, and 90% of women experience a ten pound weight gain around the middle. It's visceral fat and dangerous. There is a 70% higher risk of heart disease with visceral fat. Our waist size as women should be 34 inches or less. Mindset in menopause must be a practice. We have to tell ourselves that we can be better, healthier and empowered and keep that in our minds until it becomes natural. Our thinking self can create the experience that we want. Let's be Brilliantly Resilient together! XO, Mary Fran & Kristin

Jack and Julie Gordon are the owners of Quartz Aussie White sheep stud, which they run on their 150 ha property just east of Forbes. On the farm, they oversee a flock of 250 self-replacing stud ewes, sourced directly from Tattykeel genetics. Alongside selling rams throughout NSW, they cultivate grazing cereals to supplement their perennial grazing system. Recently, they both completed the Central West LLS PROGRAZE course, which served as a helpful refresher on grazing management. In this episode, Jack and Julie explain the intensity of their sheep breeding enterprise, despite their rather small land area. They share how they invest in high-quality genetics, and actively track individual performance using eID and BreedELITE. They also explain how they have consciously selected Aussie Whites for their simplicity of management, and how it's allowed them to pursue off-farm careers whilst running the profitable stud. It’s ok to have your feelings, but your feelings shouldn't have you. In this episode, Nicole welcomes her first guest Julie Gordon, who breaks down her 6 step system for fact-checking your feelings. Often times our reactions get amplified by our past, and how we react isn’t always circumstantial to what’s in front of us. Julie walks us through the importance of identifying those feelings, and gives examples and strategies on how to auto correct our emotional course if necessary. As women, it is assumed we are emotional beings. Whether you express your feelings in more of an internal or external way, we ALL have them, and by implementing a fact-check system we can only improve our communication with others, and our understanding of ourselves.
