Let us have some fun and joy by having a holiday conversation with “Anything Goes With Mama Marlene” columnist Marlene Buchanan. Please join us on Wednesday, December 20th, from 10 AM - 11 AM CDT US. Marlene and I will be having a Kitchen Table Conversation about Life, Love, and Laughter as we celebrate the past, present, and future! Marlene Ratledge Buchanan lives enthusiastically as a woman, wife, mother, teacher, and writer. She is quick to say that she planned to marry someone old and rich but only got old. However, on her first date with Snell, her husband, Marlene, knew he was the one for her, to the point she proposed. After his refusal, she considered getting him pregnant. They are parents to a beautiful olive-skinned son. James suffered a lack of oxygen during delivery, resulting in him having special needs. She refers to James' condition as a special gift After thirty-four years of being in public education, Marlene retired in 2007. In the classroom, she earned the name "Ms. Rat," garnering her a collection of rat figurines and collectibles over the years from her students. As a Southern Humorist, Marlene has entertained readers with her observations about life through her column, Hey Y'all, published in the Gwinnett Citizen in Georgia since 2015. As an author, her first book, the award-winning “Life is Hard. Soften It with Laughter,” is designed to look at life and find a giggle. As a matter of fact, Don't stop at a giggle….Let's laugh out loud at some of life's misadventures and mishaps! Life is hard. We need to do whatever we can to make it softer.
Well that was certainly some news. Nothing world-shattering or anything. Plus it has the added benefit of possibly affecting people outside of our little group. Now we have to sit and contemplate this crushing bit of information, and take a little trip across the world to talk with an old friend. As always, you can find us on Twitter (@inspired_incomp) and on Facebook to follow along with our exploits, you can shoot us an email at InspiredIncompetence@gmail.com if you're so inclined. You can find out more about us at InspiredIncompetence.com and join our Discord server from the link at the bottom, where we are always around to chat with our fans (or whoever wants to chat, we're not picky). Lastly, if you're enjoying the show, we humbly ask that you consider supporting us on Patreon to let us know that our efforts are not in vain. Thanks everyone, and enjoy the show!

She tends to the interiors of the “Self” and the “Stage” of one's life through their home, office, and living places, creating spaces people want to be in! Cathi believes our homes should provide a living area reflecting our authenticity and a life lived purposefully. Connecting one's inner self with the outer world, she brings depth to her design to assist in creating environments that support individuals through life and all of its transitions.

In the last episode, we unearthed another perspective of motherhood as it relates to infertility. Since there is so much to discuss about this topic, we wanted to share more. In this episode, we begin to delve into Michelle Browder's sculpture , "The Mothers of Gynecology," that was unveiled during the month of May in Montgomery, Alabama. This sculpture highlights three emerging adults (Anarcha, Lucy, and Betsey https://www.anarchalucybetsey.org/), who were African Slaves in the 1800s and had their human rights stripped away from them to be grossly experimented on in the name of "Science" by Dr. James Marion Sims. Listen to this rivoting conversation about how the unspoken testimonies of 3 identified "Divine Appointed Image Bearers" help to reframe the truth about historical patterns regarding the healthcare of Black Indigenous women of Color. Kathy Bruce, a familiar guest of this podcast and host of "Kitchen Table Conversations with Kathy", uses her gift of navigating through the systemic weeds of racism to bring light and life to this story and other stories, whose silent testimonies birthed out of brutality, bless us today.

Rachel Vindman is on Red Wine and Blue's first-ever Troublemaker Tour, chatting with suburban women at kitchen tables in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. This week, Rachel's in Bucks County, in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Bucks County is infamous for divisive school board meetings so Rachel sat down with two moms who have direct experience with their local school boards. Jamie and Tracy shared how difficult it's been to stand up for what's right in Bucks County and how critical it is that we all raise our voices and get involved. It's not enough to believe that extremists are wrong - we need to get loud and stand up for our students, teachers, and communities. This is our last kitchen table conversation! Thank you so much to everyone for joining Rachel as she talks to suburban women about the issues that matter most to them.
Rachel Vindman is on Red Wine and Blue's first-ever Troublemaker Tour, chatting with suburban women at kitchen tables in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. This week, Rachel's in the suburbs of Raleigh, North Carolina. She sat down with two teachers to hear about what is happening with education in their state. Teachers know better than anyone how public education is on the ballot in the upcoming midterms, and they also know that other extremist legislation (like abortion bans) will affect not just their own lives but the lives of their students too. Thanks for listening to Rachel's Kitchen Table Conversations! With the end of 2022 fast approaching, several financial issues are top of mind for many families, such as high inflation and year-end tax planning. In this episode, Kevin Kaylakie and Connee Sullivan join in a kitchen table conversation to address the financial topics that matter most to families. Rachel Vindman is on Red Wine and Blue's first-ever Troublemaker Tour, chatting with suburban women at kitchen tables in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. This week, Rachel's in the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina. She sat down with three moms – Stacy, Stacey, and Anissa – to hear about what got them involved in advocacy work and what's keeping their friends and neighbors from getting involved too. Public education is a huge issue in North Carolina, with small but loud Moms for Liberty groups drowning out reasonable parent voices, but these moms aren't taking it.Thanks for listening to Rachel's Kitchen Table Conversations! This week, Rachel's in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. She sat down with Sofia – an inspiring mom, philanthropist, and advocate for survivors of sexual assault. Welcome to the first episode of our brand-new bonus series “Kitchen Table Conversations”!Rachel Vindman is on Red Wine and Blue's first-ever Troublemaker Tour, chatting with suburban women at kitchen tables in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. This week, she's in Rochester Hills, MI - a suburb of Detroit. She sat down with Kathy, Sujata, and Ebonei to talk about what issues are important to them coming up to the midterms, what they're hearing from others in their community, and how they can't believe their daughters and granddaughters will have fewer rights than they do. Mary Crooks AO is a feminist advocate and changemaker who exemplifies what some might call ‘old school' feminism. She is a champion of grassroots democracy and collective power building. As Executive director of the Victorian Women's Trust since 1996, Mary is perhaps best described as the founding mother of the ‘Kitchen Table Conversations', a model of community-based collaboration and solution shaping that she developed two decades ago. Hugely successful, the model has been used broadly across community and government projects, and most recently to build powerful, well informed support bases for independent political candidates. In 1998 she developed the Purple Sage Project, a huge exercise in participatory democracy that involved over 6000 citizens.A collective purist at heart, Mary is a listener and a connector. Her early career as an economist and sharp thinker saw her catapulted to the pointy end of policy-making in her home state of Victoria, where she worked as an advisor and speech writer to the legendary Labor Premier John Cain. One of those indefatigable women changemakers who never runs out of puff, Mary has devoted her life to improving the lives and rights of women. A legend in feminist circles, Mary is also no slouch when it comes to standing up to the ‘the man', or the woman for that matter! She has famously pushed back against public criticism and those moments of ‘white-hot anger'. This conversation with Mary is the third in our Changemaker series, in which we highlight the extraordinary efforts of audacious and gutsy Australian women. As guest curator of a new exhibition, ‘Australian Women Changemakers', which opened at the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) in June 2022, BroadTalk host Virginia Haussegger has spent hundreds of hours pouring over feminist activism and advocacy, chasing that holy grail of insight about ‘what makes a changemaker?'. In the series we explore the courage, motivations and importantly the cost of being a changemaker.BroadTalk is produced by Martyn Pearce for BroadTalk Media.Get in the picture with BroadTalk! He is very connected to the black community as he's grown up in our neighborhoods and relates to minorities' struggles. We are talking about the price of gas, and the everyday struggles that our government seems to turn a blind eye too. Holidays – Christmas, Thanksgiving, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, or birthdays, whatever it is you are celebrating, when you throw grief into the mix, things can change rapidly. How can we possibly celebrate when we are feeling the loss of a loved one? How can we even participate in events linked so closely to the memory of a partner, a parent, a sibling, a child, or a grandparent? How can we honor their memories and incorporate them into new traditions going forward? And what about the support system? How can we support people who have lost a loved one especially during this difficult time?I had a chat with my friend Garrick Colwell, a grief expert, and the co-founder of Kitchen Table Conversations to get some tips on how to navigate the holidays while allowing space for your grief.A big THANK YOU to Reiner Erlings for the music. www.reinererlings.com

In President Joe Biden's addled, dementia-ridden mind, a typical kitchen table conversation might include talking about a bridge collapsing in the snow and what to do about a fire burning on the other side - with no way to get there. Just the latest in a stream of several random Biden thoughts as he tries to take his Infrastructure Salvation Show on the road to New Hampshire.
What does a PhD dissertation, privacy books, the color of orange, and biometric legislation have in common? No, this is not some lame joke, but there is one of those in the episode. This week on Serious Privacy, Paul Breitbarth and K Royal present one of their back porch / kitchen table conversations. The episode may be slightly messy. It might be slightly longer than you are used to, but a lot of updates are covered since it's been so long since one of these episodes given all the developments in privacy law. In this episode, Paul and K catch up on various topics, such as those listed above, but also a brief look into some of the upcoming episodes, such as the new law out of Quebec (more on that in the next episode) and the PIPL webinar on November 9, 2021. Be sure to catch that. In addition, please keep in mind that TrustArc has lots of resources for you - most are available on the PIPL microsite https://trustarc.com/china-pipl/.They also discussed K's brief experience at the IAPP PSR 2021 in San Diego, CCPA developments, and enforcement actions.Join us for Paul's reading recommendations for two great books: the first one is part of the Future of Privacy Forum's book club this month - Privacy is Hard and seven other myths by Jaap-Henk Hoepman. It was April of 2017 when Garrick and the late Kinsloe Kelley Colwell, LMFT, invited over 20 Austin area healthcare professionals to meet and discuss ways in which they could assist the Central Texas community in becoming aware of the importance of completing their advance care directives. Over the next few months, the group met and decided to offer educational programs and resources through a non-profit organization they would call Kitchen Table Conversations. They felt the name of the organization would encourage people to have the end of life conversations in the comfort of their homes instead of during a medical crisis in the ICU. July 1, 2017, this web site was launched. The first workshop was offered the following month. In October, AARP of Central Texas began sponsoring The 3 Ds of Advance Care Planning: How to Decide, Discuss, and Document Your End of Life Wishes workshops. An exercise that I like to do with people in my mastermind and with myself every couple of years is to imagine my three best days. I realized a while back how many of us live with our heads down. We get so caught up in our work that we lose sight of why we’re even doing it. The three best days exercise helps me get recentered on what’s important. Once I realize what my best days are, I can create a life that allows for more of them. In this episode, I’m sharing with all of you one of my best days. It includes having conversations with my parents around the dining room table. Having the margin to spend more time with family is one of the best things about having this business. I hope our conversation provides value for you and gives you a glimpse of my life outside of work. In this episode of Radio ArtEZ, vocalist, movement artist and composer Elaine Mitchener offers background to her work and her ideas. She will focus on the unheard voices of statues, rooms, places. Who do monuments represent and who do they speak for? She will introduce some original voices in philosophy and music that deserve more attention and will guide us into ideas of philosophers Fred Moten and Walter Benjamin about resistance and memory. Central to her conversation will be Benjamin’s concept and practice of memory: Eingedenken, that takes remembrance as an act of responsibility. How do we choose to remember? History is written by the victors, said Benjamin, and the consequences resonate for ages. Events happen occasionally that reinforce each other in such a way that the sum of things is worse than you could ever have imagined: a perfect storm. You may very well say that 2020 is a perfect storm in itself. And who knows what November and December may bring. This week, Paul Breitbarth and K Royal invited Stuart N. Brotman, author of Privacy's Perfect Storm: Digital Policy for Post-Pandemic Times.Brotman took the notion of the perfect storm as the basis for a book about privacy, data protection, the digital economy and the fight against COVID-19. The book contains a series of reflections on a wide range of issues, outlining the authors’ views and ideas on the way forward. He just completed a term as a Fellow in the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C. The essays in his book sparked quite the conversation.Join us as we speak on a variety of topics - one of which immediately stood out: Why Discussing Digital Privacy Now Belongs at the Kitchen Table (on page 19), given Paul and K’s ideal for the Serious Privacy podcast to be those casual conversations one would have at Paul’s kitchen table, or K’s back porch. Kendal McWade came over for a visit. While he was here we did some work on my golf game and he also did some work with my son. As has become customary, we went for a meal and the conversation started to flow, we got home and had a coffee in my kitchen and I pressed record to capture some of the areas we were exploring together. We delve into the skill acquisition process, how we can enrich individual practice and also how we help players to become creative problem solvers. I hope you enjoy

Aired Tuesday, 27 November 2018, 5:00 PM ESTThe Eisenhower Moment – Part IThe Great Transition To A Life-Affirming CultureAn Interview with Andrew Gaines, Founder of The Great Transition Initiative“Either we will have an awakening or we will have a wake.” — Swami BeyondanandaIn these times of great crisis and opportunity, there’s an idea that has gotten ahold of me that I call “The Eisenhower Moment”. Nearly 60 years ago, President Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.”As more and more of us are coming to understand, “peace” means more than an absence of war — although that would be a terrific beginning. Peace means the end of domination, one over the other. It means fundamentally adopting and applying the Golden Rule. And more apparently than ever before, it means living in harmony with the natural world. As the crises — ecological, economic, political, social and spiritual — seem to all be arising at once, maybe we are at that moment where a critical mass of the heretofore uncritical masses can speak in one coherent voice and say, “We want THIS.”Certainly we have the means to communicate ideas and memes instantly across the globe, and nearly two thirds of the humans on the planet have a cell phone or personal device. That means that “humanity” can be mobilized around an idea or issue almost instantly…Would it make a difference?Perhaps it’s the only thing that will. Our guest this week, Andrew Gaines, an Australian visionary, activist and systems thinker has dedicated his life to bringing about such a “movement of movements.”He is a co-leader in the Great Transition Initiative – a citizen led educational movement to inspire mainstream commitment to transitioning to a life-affirming culture. Through a personal epiphany he became committed to the wellbeing of coming generations. Andrew recognizes that the long-term survival of humanity is in jeopardy, and he embraces the adage to change the system, change the thinking. As a Feldenkrais practitioner, psychotherapist and creativity trainer he is well-positioned to act on this adage. He sometimes says, “I help good brains work better.” His books include Kitchen Table Conversations, The Witness: Gateway to Self-Development, and Creative Conversations. He is trained in improvisational acting, Aikido, Tai Chi, and The Natural Step, a way of working out whether a business or a country is ecologically sustainable. He is a former naval officer with a degree in philosophy. One of the problems in addressing climate change — and other massive issues confronting our entire species — is that our tendency is to try to fix things around the edges, so that we can keep things “normal.” The problem is, that things are changing so rapidly that we cannot go backward to previous ideas of normal. We are being pulled forward into the unknown, like it or not. As Andrew points out, the climate crisis cannot be addressed, let alone resolved, by tweaking things around the edges. A systemic transformation is needed. So… how can that transformation come about — other than by utter collapse of the system as it is?How can the people of the world be mobilized, not just to rail in anger but to work together toward practical, breakthrough solutions? How do climate change educators break through the walls created by the two “drugs” of “hopium” (imagining things will just get better on their own) and “deniatol” (problem? what problem?) to mobilize our individual and collective creativity and focus? If you’re curious, tune in this Tuesday, November 27th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET : http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/ to find out.Or, find us on the Wiki archives on Wednesday: http://wikipolitiki.com/archives/To find out more about The Great Transition Initiative, please go here: http://www.inspiringtransition.net/about-gtiSupport Wiki Politiki — A Clear Voice In The “Bewilderness”If you LOVE what you hear, and appreciate the mission of Wiki Politiki, “put your money where your mouse is” … Join the “upwising” — join the conversation, and become a Wiki Politiki supporter: http://wikipolitiki.com/join-the-upwising/Make a contribution in any amount via PayPal (https://tinyurl.com/y8fe9dks)Go ahead, PATRONIZE me! Guy Hatcher is Managing Partner at The Company Coach and columnist for the Christian Post. He's the author of, "Your Future Reflection: How to Leave a Legacy Beyond Money." Matthew 6:25 says, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Using this excerpt, Hatcher explains how people can cope with financial anxiety. God's word states, “Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it.” –Ecclesiastes 7:12 NIV. Hatcher discusses how people can use this saying to better manage their investments with wisdom. Proverbs 13:22 (NIV) says, “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous.” Hatcher thinks it is so important for people to leave legacies. He talks about how people can better understand the power of “The Blessing,” and how they can receive and give it. Find out more about Guy Hatcher at www.guyhatcher.com. Visit The Company Coach at www.thecompanycoach.com. Known as "The Legacy Guy," Author, Speaker and Life Coach Guy Hatcher has spent his lifetime helping families plan their legacy.
