In today's episode, Ashley discusses the symbolism of the rabbit – a common motif that appears throughout Stranger Things, but most commonly in seasons 1, 4, and, as Ashley speculates here, will be a prominent theme in Season 5 – and what the furry animal can tell us about the deeper meaning of the show.*Please note: Ashley mistakenly forgot to include in this episode the scene in ST4, Chapter 7 where Holly is making a Rabbit on her Lite Brite. She will be forever horrified by this error and asks for your forgiveness

Kevin and Brittany Williams known as Lite Brite share their journey from meeting at a drifting event, to becoming passionate Jeep enthusiasts and full time content creators. They both started with a shared love for cars and got into drifting, eventually transitioning to off-roading and purchasing a Land Cruiser. When they moved to Colorado and bought a red Jeep JL Rubicon in 2018, which they named the Stepchild, they accidentally filmed their off-roading adventures and uploaded them to YouTube, gaining unexpected popularity. This led to the creation of their YouTube channel, Lite Brite, and their journey as content creators rose quickly. Lite Brite and Chris Corbett discuss the early days of their YouTube channel and how it gained popularity and about the decision to quit their jobs and focus on YouTube full-time. They also touch on the topic of their OnlyFans page and address some misconceptions about it. They talk about downsizing their collection and the sacrifices they have made to pursue their YouTube career. In this final part of the conversation, Lite Brite and Chris Corbett discuss their experiences with negative people and how age and wisdom now prevail.00:00 Meeting at a Drifting Event 15:26 Moving to Colorado and Buying a Jeep 34:20 Homelessness and Living on the Road 53:16 Receiving Support from the Fan Base 01:07:21 Buying a House and Incorporating Shop Content 01:22:58 Unveiling a Unique Adventure 01:48:30 Navigating Negative Comments and Focusing on the Positive 02:06:05 Transparency and Openness in Personal Ventures

Something a little different on Get A Grip On Lighting. Frank brings us some fascinating episodes in history related to light, everything from the origins of the traffic light, to the invention of the Lite Brite toy. Did you know the first President to have electric lights in the White House was afraid to touch the switches? There is much more like this in Frank's incredibly interesting blog, Radiant History (www.radianthistory.com). Frank has spent over 30 years in the lighting industry working for architectural lighting and specialty lighting manufacturers. He started in the business in 1992 with Litetronics. After 10 years with them he went to work for Ushio America helping run their architectural and entertainment lighting divisions for just under 18 years. In 2019 he started his own media marketing company called Red Mouse Media and has consulted with Plusrite and Naturaled ever since he started Red Mouse. This past summer Frank created Radiant History, a blog that explores the illuminating history of the lighting industry and takes readers on a captivating journey into our lighted world.

The marketplace was changed forever by the advent of today's topic products, all introduced to the public in 1967! Sarah & Joe walk through the notable inventions and creations of the year, from the mundane but useful (handheld calculator) to the useful but waning (automated teller machine) to the fun party game/tool of the industrial prison complex (electronic breathalyzer). Along the way, landmark childhood staples like Lite Brite, Battleship, Skip-Bo, Gatorade, and Ho Hos get a look, alongside lengthy discussions about McDonald's and the Big Mac, St. Louis and the Gateway Arch, a truly unhinged commercial for Fiddle Faddle, and pleas for the Drake's company of baked goods to sponsor the podcast.

“Best Book Club Ever,” read one sign inside Amazon Books at Seattle's University Village this weekend. On the bookshelves below it were products including an electric 1.5-liter ceramic kettle, a sugar dispenser, and a marble cheese slicer. Elsewhere in the store, shoppers browsed items as varied as a plush baby shark, a Lite Brite, Funko figurines, a USB mic, game consoles, a smart fitness scale, a WiFi router, and kitchen scissors. There was not, as far as I could tell, a kitchen sink. Yes, there were books in this bookstore. But they were surrounded by a cacophony of commerce. Looking around at the seemingly random array of products, it felt like a bookstore subsumed by a variety store — an experiment gone awry, or more likely, an approach influenced by two different executive regimes. No wonder Amazon is pulling the plug, I thought to myself.
