We return to Hammer Productions with Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell, filmed at Elstree Studios in 1972. It marked the final chapter in the Hammer Frankenstein saga and director Terence Fisher's last film. The Film Features: Peter Cushing in his sixth and final portrayal of Baron Victor Frankenstein, a part he originated in 1957's The Curse of Frankenstein. Despite being 59 and apparently in poor health when he made this film, Cushing still insisted on performing a stunt requiring him to leap from a tabletop onto the hulking creature's back, spinning wildly in circles to subdue the monster gone amok with a sedative. Shane Briant as Dr. Simon Helder, best known for his four Hammer appearances, including this film and Demons of the Mind, Straight on Till Morning, and Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (coming soon from General Witchfinders). He reprised the role of Simon Helder years later in the film Sherlock Holmes vs. Frankenstein. Madeline Smith as Sarah "Angel" Klauss. Also seen in Hammer's The Vampire Lovers, Taste the Blood of Dracula, Tam-Lin, and Theatre of Blood, she went on to become the first Bond girl of the Roger Moore era, Miss Caruso, in the post-opening titles sequence of Live and Let Die (infamous for the scene where Bond unzips her dress with a magnetic wristwatch). After taking a break from acting to raise her daughter, she is still working now at the age of 74, recently appearing in Mark Gatiss's The Amazing Mr. Blunden. And of course, the main event... the feature creature... we have Dave ("Dave Prowse IS Darth Vader") Prowse as the Creature / Herr Schneider. Actor, bodybuilder, and strongman Dave Prowse carved a unique path in film history. He's best known for portraying Darth Vader (voiced by American actor James Earl Jones) in the original Star Wars trilogy. However, his career stretched far beyond that iconic role. He was a familiar face in the UK as the Green Cross Man, promoting road safety for children. However, in a recurring snub to the beautiful West Country accent, the first two adverts in the series had Prowse's voice dubbed by another actor. Thankfully, he appeared using his own voice in the third advert. Dave won the British heavyweight weightlifting championship for three consecutive years (1962-1964). Leading him to compete for England in the 1962 Commonwealth Games. During his bodybuilding training, he befriended future action stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. His role as the manservant in Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film, "A Clockwork Orange," caught the eye of Star Wars director George Lucas, which led him to the defining role of Darth Vader. Throughout his film and TV career, Prowse was often typecast with parts such as the circus strongman in Vampire Circus, a Minotaur in (Doctor Who Klaxon)'The Time Monster,' and an android named Coppin in The Tomorrow People. He supposedly came close to iconic roles, claiming to have nearly landed the part of Jaws in James Bond and being considered for Conan the Barbarian before those parts went to other actors. We are told that Prowse lobbied for the role of Superman in Richard Donner's 1978 film. In a television interview, he recounted his response to being told "we've found our Superman" with a simple "Thank you very much," only to then learn Christopher Reeve had been chosen and Prowse would be his trainer. Finally, it's worth noting that David Prowse made his second appearance as a Frankenstein laboratory creation in this film, his first being in The Horror of Frankenstein (uncredited cameo in 1967's Casino Royale aside). He holds the distinction of being the only actor to play a Hammer Frankenstein's monster more than once. Get bonus content on PatreonSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/general-witchfinders. But although personally leaving Pan Am's employment, the airline was still an important part of her family as her new husband was a Pan Am pilot named Charles Smith. The two met on an overseas working trip and were inseparable, marrying only six months after they met. Captain Smith passed away in 1989. Valerie stayed with the company until the end in 1991 where she was hired by Delta and would continue flying for almost two decades. Today, Madeline is still a force to be reckoned with. Curse of the Werewolf, The Brides of Dracula, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell – films from the height of Hammer Films' prolific output in the late 1950s and 1960s. Many of the horrific music soundtracks, carefully calibrated to set the pulse racing, were composed by leading British modernists of the late 20th century. Hammer's music supervisor Philip Martell hired the brightest young avant-garde composers of the day – the likes of Malcolm Williamson (later Master of the Queen's Music), Elisabeth Lutyens, Benjamin Frankel and Richard Rodney Bennett made a living scoring music to chill the bones to supplement their concert hall work. Prising open Dracula's coffin to unearth the story of Hammer's modernist soundtracks, composer and pianist Neil Brand explores the nuts and bolts of scary music – how it is designed to psychologically unsettle us – and explores why avant-garde music is such a good fit for horror. On his journey into the abyss, Neil visits the haunted mansion where many of the Hammer classics were made, at Bray Studios in Berkshire, and gets the low-down from Hammer aficionado Wayne Kinsey, film music historian David Huckvale, composer Richard Rodney Bennett, and one of Hammer's on-screen scream queens, actress Madeline Smith. Dating in the 21st century can be a tricky path to manoeuvre, but in reality, the difficulties pale in comparison when compared to the complex etiquette and social pressures that one was doomed to follow in the Victorian period. One couple found this out in a unique way when their romantic love affair took a hard swipe left and turned into a tale of arsenic, scandal and mystery that could probably have been avoided had ghosting been a thing. Violet had insisted that a game of truth or dare could show people whether they would be compatible or not on a first date, as long as the game was straightforward. So we'd started with a few truths. She'd asked me intense questions: what my most painful memory was, who was the most prominent person in my masturbation fantasies, if I was to murder someone which weapon would I use? I had answered as honestly as I could: losing my mother, Madeline Smith, and a hatchet. She didn't ask for explanations, just answers. My questions to her had been timid at first, but given the nature of her own questions, I'd decided that I shouldn't bore her, so I asked about her first sexual experience and now she'd answered... “The Devouring” by Kristopher Triana first appeared in DOA II Check out the full anthology: https://amzn.to/3kWMihq Author- Kristopher Triana Amazon: https://amzn.to/3wbs5JQ Website: www.kristophertriana.com Listen to the first chapter of his new thriller A FINE EVENING IN HELL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kwzrv2m9ExM Check out Triana's coloring book inspired by Body Art: https://amzn.to/37vuQ0l Narrator - Spencer Dillehay: https://www.spencerdillehay.com/ Produced by Blood Bound Books: https://www.bloodgutsandstory.com/new-releases Artist for Don't Fall Asleep logo Andrej Bartulovic "Maggot Meister": https://www.facebook.com/AllThingsRottenOfficial #scarystories #creepypasta #dontfallasleep #darkfiction #shortstories #creepystories #audiobooks #scaryaudiobooks #horror #readhorror #listentohorror #cannibal #extremehorror #erotichorror As Amazon affiliates, we may earn from qualifying purchases --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/blood-bound-books2/support

Crime Classics was a historical true crime series, examining crimes and murders from the past. It grew out of creator Elliott Lewis's interest in famous murder cases and took a documentary-like approach to the subject. The crimes dramatized covered a broad frame of both time and place, from ancient Greece to late 19th-century America. The row over the evisceration of Westminster Cathedral Choir has erupted again. The cathedral's excellent music administrator, Madeline Smith, has resigned from her post, accusing the choir school – which, incredibly, is the ultimate source of the threat to the choir's musical standards – of misleading parents and creating a 'toxic' atmosphere that drove out the master of music, Martin Baker. This week's Holy Smoke gives you the background to the story and argues that the downgrading of Westminster Cathedral Choir is an act of spiritual as well as musical vandalism. There's a powerful contribution from Dr Gavin Ashenden, a former chaplain to the Queen and former chorister at Canterbury Cathedral. The choir isn't singing at the moment, because of Covid: Westminster Cathedral has been predictably craven in its response to the pandemic, embracing and adding to the Government's control-freakery. When services resume, we can expect the long-planned dumbing down of the world's premier Catholic choir to be blamed on the virus. Don't believe a word of it – and please listen to the podcast.

In March 1857, seed warehouse clerk Pierre Emile L'Angelier was found dead of arsenic poisoning. His secret lover, 21-year-old Glaswegian socialite Madeleine Hamilton Smith, was accused of his murder. Just weeks before the murder Pierre threatened to expose their affair, and Madeleine was spotted buying large quantities of arsenic. This week Taylor and Kat take a look at the show's namesake, Glasgow's Square Mile of Murder, and delve into a tale of forbidden Victorian love, oodles of arsenic, and Scotland's trial of the (19th) century. ------------------------------------------------Like the show? CinePsyEP177 Movie Stack Jenga: The Vampire Lovers Support the show while you sport the show: https://teespring.com/stores/cinema-psyops Cort seems doomed to never enjoy a New Years Eve as he starts the show with a story of hate for a popular form of bar entertainment and a health scare that had him nearly headed to the hospital at approximately 3 in the morning. The dimwitted duo then discuss 1970’s The Vampire Lovers, the start of the Hammer Karnstein Trilogy. Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. Today on the show, we welcome super talented singer/songwriter Madeline Smith. We'll talk with Madeline about her career, music and anything she's working on that she can talk about. This should be a fun show!
Not Proven Glasgow’s Madeline Smith’s Evasion Of Justice! Whether or not one is raised in a good family or not, saved or unsaved, all are prone to sins of the flesh and Madeline Smith was certainly no exception. Patrick speaks about Madeline Smith outside her former ostentatious home in Glasgow and how she successfully avoided the death penalty for poisoning her secret lover before moving to America where she began a new life with the Suffragettes. Scotland is the only country in the world where the option of 'not proven' is allowed in cases of criminal law. No such option will be offered for those who die without Jesus!
Wonder Women is going strong! And this week I'm proud to be chatting with someone I knew well while considering my own Dare into performing arts which I ultimately leaned back from. This Wonder Woman in particular, Madeline Smith, did not back down from her dream of pursuing the spotlight. Today, she's got the distinguished honor of being the youngest-ever female to conduct in a Broadway orchestra pit as part of the team for "Waitress," a musical led by an all-female team headlined by lyrical wonder Sara Bareilles. Go and catch Waitress on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 W. 47th Street in NYC. Tickets are available here. Thanks for tuning in! Madeline Smith is not just a powerful vocalist or beautiful writer. After talking to her for an hour on the phone the other day, I felt like we were good friends. Her honesty about the hard work she has been putting into her career is a fair warning to those who might think that pursuing a music career is easy. I so enjoyed getting to hear about how singing has taken her to the top 20 charts in the UK and I'm excited to see what she comes out with next. Two time British Country Music Awards performer, Madeline Smith is all class and poise and I hope you enjoy this episode.

There's not much that can be said about this one without using words like 'nubile', 'heaving', 'bouncing' or 'woodsman's daughter' but I'll try. Ingrid Pitt and Madeline Smith are……No. No, that's it, I need to go and have a cold shower.
Crime Classics was a U. S. radio docudrama which aired over CBS from June 15, 1953 to June 30, 1954. Created, produced, and directed by radio actor/director Elliott Lewis, the program was basically a historical true crime series, examining crimes, and especially murders, from the past. It grew out of Lewis's personal interest in famous murder cases, and took a documentary-like approach to the subject, carefully recreating the facts, personages, and feel of the time period. Comparatively little dramatic license was taken with the facts and events, but the tragedy was leavened with humor, expressed largely through the narration. THIS EPISODE: January 20, 1954. CBS network origination, AFRS rebroadcast. "Madeline Smith, Maid Or Murderess...Which?". A lovely lady is also a liberal user of arsenic. Lou Merrill (host), Betty Harford, William Johnstone, John Dehner, Bernard Herrmann (composer), Wilbur Hatch (conductor), Florence Wolcott, Morton Fine (writer), David Friedkin (writer), Elliott Lewis (producer, director), Gil Warren (announcer). 1/2 hour.
