Ron Hoffman is the lead pastor of Mountain City Church, formerly known as the Anchorage Baptist Temple. Anchorage Baptist was founded in 1956 by Pastor Don White under the name Baptist Bible Church. The church by whatever name has been a launching pad for conservative Republican politicians in Alaska for decades, and with its 2500 members, it maintains its political influence today. Ron Hoffman's first contact with the church was in 1984 when he enrolled as a high school freshman at its associated school Anchorage Christian School, now known as Mountain City Christian Academy. After earning his bachelor's degree from Liberty University in 1991, Ron returned to Anchorage with his wife Crystal and worked in the church's youth ministry for the next 25 years and raised three children. In 2019, Jerry Prevo retired after 47 years as the head of the church; in May of that year, Ron became lead pastor at Mountain City Church. On another investigation in Kentucky's Mammoth Cave the team made eerie discoveries, including growls and unsettling encounters near an abandoned SUV, possibly tied to missing people. Finally, the team shares of their experience, in a separate hunt in Tennessee, while the they explored a cave where strange footprints, feathers, and paranormal activity were linked to local legends of Skinwalkers, they encountered extremely eerie paranormal activity. Their experiences culminated in mysterious events like infrasound attacks and sightings of shadowy figures, hinting at a deeper, unexplained reality in these remote regions. On tonight's show, I have Kody Norris of The Kody Norris Show! The talented group, made up of frontman Kody Norris, Josiah Tyree, Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris, and Charlie Lowman, finds themselves with a growing legion of fans craving the comfort that comes from their retro look, but equally craving dynamic instrumentation and thought-provoking lyrics – all of which can be heard throughout their epic new album Rhinestone Revival. “There is a whole chapter of country music that's just kind of faded away,” The Kody Norris Show's frontman once said. “I believe The Kody Norris Show has been instrumental in bringing back some of that nostalgia and some of that classic look that country music and bluegrass music used to have.” The foundations of the electrifying four-piece band can be found within the roots of Kody Norris himself, a once inquisitive youngster from Mountain City, Tennessee who would spend hours sitting in the passenger seat of his Uncle Jack's Chevrolet El Camino listening to the entirety of The Stanley Brothers 16 Greatest Hits tape, wondering if he would ever be able to match the sweet harmonies coming through the speakers. At nine years old, he picked up the mandolin and he never put it down.

It's Christmas time in Tennessee, and folks across the volunteer state are celebrating with family and friends. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Tennessee Home and Farm Radio! Thomas Capps From Memphis to Mountain City it's Christmas time in Tennessee. Hello and welcome to Tennessee Home and Form Radio I'm Tomas Capps. The anticipation is over Christmas Day is here and people across the world are celebrating with family and friends. Here in Tennessee folks are celebrating in all kinds of ways like Loudoun County dairy farmer, John Harrison. John Harrison It's different on the farm than probably most other places. You know, I had to work all my life growing up on Christmas. So Christmas is like a lot of our Sundays, are kind of a mad rush. So you hurry up and get things done. So you can do family things. But they are kind of special. And they're special now for us because we have a grandchild now, we've got a daughter in law and her son in law, probably going to have another one or two so that makes Christmas more special. Thomas Capps But perhaps this Christmas isn't merry and bright for some due to hardship and challenges. Governor Bill Lee reminds us that the true meaning of Christmas gives us hope, no matter our circumstances. Governor Bill Lee God uses the hardest circumstances in our lives oftentimes for transformation, and uses them and redeems them in ways that we couldn't even imagine. I think that's true for communities, for cities, for families, for countries. So redemption brings hope for me, this is a very hopeful season. And we're all mindful of that. A tragic, a tragic event in you know, in the life of the one who was born in this season. All of that's redemption. So, when we think about countries, economies, communities, really difficult times that we're walking through, we can walk through those with hope. Because, you know, that's how it works. Thomas Capps Christ born in the most humble of circumstances, all to bring peace and goodwill towards men, and life everlasting. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Tennessee Home and Farm Radio. I'm Thomas Capps.

It is January 31, 2012, and a family member decides to drop by the home of 24-year-old Billie Jean Hayworth and her fiance 35-year-old Bill Payne. The couple, who shared a 6-month-old son, had recently gotten engaged and we were excited for the future. A family member who regularly stopped by to check in on the young family was always greeted by the baby crawling around. This time it was different. After not being invited into the home, she entered through the unlocked door. She was immediately thrown off since there was not the usual hustle and bustle of the morning. Instead, pure silence. The women called out to them but no one responded. As she made his way through the hallway, she looked into the bedroom and saw Bill Payne lifeless on the bed. Then he came upon Billie Jean on the floor, covered in blood, with her still clutching to her baby boy. The baby had her mother's blood on him but seemed to be unharmed. The woman makes a frantic call to 911 in shock from what she has witnessed and tries to soothe the baby. Police head to the location nervous about what they will discover. This is not the norm in this quiet Tennessee town of Mountain City, population 2415. Agent Scott Lott from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports to the scene. He determines Bill Payne had a gunshot wound to the face and his throat had been slit. Billie Jean had a gunshot wound to the head as well. The house did not seem to be in disarray indicating this was not a burglary gone wrong. What it did indicate was that someone wanted both of them dead and made sure to make that happen. The murders looked clean, as in a hit.

You've got a Facebook friend request - or conversely, your friend request has been accepted - and the thrill of having a new virtual friend that may open beautiful possibilities is undeniable. Social media has become a refuge for people like Jenelle Potter who seeks for a respite from the dreariness of her own, real world. But social media has its fair share of malevolence - notably bashing, sharing of fake news, cyber-bullying, and even deadly threats. In a single click, one can be unfriended on Facebook, and as simple as it may seem, this can effortlessly shatter the perceived ideal virtual world of the rejected person. One may opt to move on; others get sucked up by a quicksand of devastation. Unfortunately, Jenelle Potter succumbed to the latter, and allowed her wrath to end in tragedy. Who would have thought that pressing the “unfriend” button could lead to murder and unimaginable havoc?

Come with us to Mountain City, Tennessee, where we discuss a case that only maybe Stephen King can think of with all the plots and twists. We discuss the double homicide of a couple, that stems from a disagreement, unset expectations of a friendship, and good ole social media — in this case, Facebook. We chat it up about the murders of Bill Payne and Billy Jean Hayworth. And how, if at all, perhaps an old social media junkie, Janelle Potter, was involved — including her sixty-something-year-old parents — Barbara and Marvin “Buddy” Potter. It would not be the Café if we didn't discuss these things openly and honestly — but most importantly — while having a good ole drink in our hands. Ana Margarita Fernandez , born April 28th, 1971 and raised in Miami, Florida a "Cuga", that is, a Cuban Gringa. I am one of 4 girls, a minute older then my identical twin, Betty. We are considered the babies of the family. Our older sisters are Christina and Lisa. Our father, Dr. Joaquin Mario Fernandez, fled Cuba and came to the United States in the 1950's. He was a prominent thoracic and vascular surgeon well known for his zest for life and his compassion for the sick. During surgery he met and fell madly in love with my mother they married had 4 children and then he died at the young age of 42. My twin and I were 5 and the oldest sister was 8. Our Mother, Peggy Lucile was born in Abington, VA, a very small town hidden in the Appalachian mountains, located on the Tennessee/Virginia state lines. An Air Force Veteran, race car driver, operating / trauma unit head nurse, and my hero. Growing up, during the school year Miami was our home and Mountain City, TN, was our home for the summer months, for that was where my mother's kin lived and where we spent every summer until I turned 18. It is there, amongst the Appalachian mountains, forests, gardens, barns, trailers, tobacco fields, pig shacks and the public pool where we were taught how to work hard, be disciplined, proud, gracious, humble, and thankful. It is in those pig shacks and fairy woods where we learned to party hearty - grassroots style witnessing moonshine makers and drinkers play their banjos and fiddles. We provided the twist with our Cuban heritage and readiness to party. It was there as well where I realized the soul of the south is incredibly similar to the soul of the Cuban culture. Being the free spirit that I am, I married and moved to Barranquilla, Colombia from the age of 18 to 23. There I was blessed with my son, Christian, born in 1992 and an extended family that to this day neither an ocean can divide nor a divorce sever. I left Colombia handicapped by the need to be with my sister Betty, a quality only a twin can understand, and moved to Nashville to be among my mother and sisters. I dabbled in music, radio, television and theater work, which led me to learn that I am very entrepreneurial, minded. Then, 2002 brought my biggest life changing moment - the birth of my daughter, Gabriella Antonia Fernandez Ginther aka Gigi In 2004, I launched my business in the glass and glazing construction industry, changing city scapes across the country. Today, IWS is certified locally and nationally as a Woman/Minority Business Enterprise and continues to be integral in the building of sustainable architectural projects of huge scale and importance all over the US including, Miami Intermodal, Las Vegas City Hall, Nemours's Children's Hospital and Hunter Bridge to name a few. I think my biggest accomplishment is the gift of life. My own life, in which I've chosen to live balls to the wall and seize the moment with no regrets! My mistakes have become my badges of honor for the lessons they've taught me making my life perpetually ready to soar. The lives of the children I've given this world. Two beautiful human beings, that are so much better than I am that sometimes I have to wonder how they came from me. (But like I always say, one must always make a good breeding decision.) Finally, the gift of saving a life. When faced with the tragic shooting of a loved one, I stepped forward, risking my own life, and was able to save his. That experience of saving the life of a relative, brother, son, husband, father and a friend was one of my greatest accomplishments.Words that best describe me:-The key to my personality is freedom.-I love to dance, hike, hula-hoop, ride my scooter, race and compete-I love travel, adventure, variety and meeting new people.-I'm curious and long to experience all of life.-I love to be involved in several things at the same time as long as I'm not tied down to any one thing.-I like change, new things and new horizons.-I make friends easily, my personality is upbeat, attracting people from all walks of life I do not know a stranger-I have a way of words and an uncanny ability to motivate others.-I lack a mouth filter, discipline, order and can also be impulsive, doing orexpressing things I regret later.-I am love to taste all of life.-Music, art, food and other sensory experiences are essential to the enjoyment of my life.-I find it difficult to commit to one relationship, but once committed I can be as faithful as an old dog.-I am multi-talented and possess a variety of diverse abilities.-I was perceived as a wild child by adults and a source of concern by my family. Always guilty until I proved myself innocent-I'm a late-bloomer and need to experience all of life before I can truly know and commit to my heart's desire.-Change is constant in my world requiring adaptability and courage I yearn for freedom, love and self-improvement.Why Nashville?? Nashville became my home when my family moved here in 1995. It was inevitable as the old saying goes, home is where the heart is and my heart is with my mom and sisters! What keeps me in Nashville has now become the reason why I would never leave. Nashville; the Athens of the South, Music City USA, home of the Moon Pie, Goo Goo Cluster, Soul Food, Sweet Tea. Nashville is an incubator for the student, dreamer, creative, athletic, innovator, storyteller, entrepreneur and a cradle to the modern day renaissance man and woman. There's nowhere in the world quite like Nashville, wars have been fought here and blood has been shed here. We are a city of inclusion that desegregated our downtown in 1962, two years before the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The mixture of classic and modern architecture in Nashville's landscape along with its southern backdrop and front porch culture is the perfect metaphor for the variety of people living here and is what gives our fine city its soul!http://thechristopprogram.com/
