www.commsolutionsmn.com- Police departments are starting to fly surveillance drones over cities. Don't we have a fourth amendment anymore? Aren't we supposed to be secure in our persons, homes, papers, and effects? How can this be allowed? Yet if we say anything, the same people that marched in the streets and ran for office on the platform of defunding the police call us anti-police. Hello, pot? Meet kettle. But since when hasn't hypocrisy been an artform for these folks. Those who want to hide abortions and sex changes from parents on the grounds of privacy, neglect our privacy when they want some of our info or property. Over 70 law enforcement agencies in MN are using drones including Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Bloomington. They are supposed to get a search warrant to fly them, but there are rules to get around that too. Using them for rescue might be one thing, but using them for a threat assessment or to spy on people is unreasonable behavior. In Warren, MN, they are tracking heat seepage from resident's homes. Did you give them permission to do that? They joined forces with other MN and German cities in the Climate Smart Municipalities Partnership. This doesn't seem legal to me, but hey, what does that have to do with it anymore? We also discuss the official "end" of COVID. The new Congress doesn't seem to be doing enough to fulfil their promise to get to the bottom of the origins on COVID. When they have subpoena power, why isn't there more pressure to get to the bottom of this? Have you checked out our Spotify playlist? At the beginning of each episode, Jason quotes some song lyrics that have to do with the subject matter of the podcast. Andrew never knows what they are, but now he can… and so can you! We've launched the Spotify playlist: “Community Solutions Music From the Podcast!” You can listen to Roundabout from Yes after listing to Episode 30 on Roundabouts… or kick back and enjoy a rocking playlist just for the thrill of it. Have you been the victim of a bully or an abuser? Or maybe you played the part of the perpetrator. Did you experience violence at the hands of other males and then perpetuate that cycle? If you're like most men, you've experienced violence from or committed it against other men. It's such an ingrained part of our culture, that you may not even recognize it. This is the insidious way that the patterns of male on male violence continue to repeat. We enculturate our boys with it—consider superheroes or the glorification of inflicting pain on opponents in certain sports—and we carry that trauma forward into our adult lives. In this episode, we take a deeper look at the roots of this phenomenon and talk about how to stop the cycle. In this episode, we welcome Brad Mewhort, an expert in male on male violence. Brad is the author of the book, The Peaceful Man: Heal Within Yourself the Personal Effects and Historic Patterns of Male-on-Male Violence. Brad joins us to speak about his mission to prevent male-on-male violence and end physical bullying. This is a necessary conversation for every man to consider. We hope you'll give a listen and ponder how you can help stop the cycle of violence. About Brad:Brad has a mission to prevent male-on-male violence and end physical bullying. Should we be optimistic that we all have the capability to do the, hard but necessary, work of healing from our past trauma? Or should we be pessimistic that the world requires such healing, because pain, suffering, and trauma are so common place? Should we view ourselves as good people because we are willing to do the work to be better each day? Or should we view ourselves as bad people who are just trying to do all we can to make up for the fact that we aren't naturally good? Those are a some heavy questions, but they are the ones that have consumed my mind since this conversation with Brad-- one of the many benefits of having these thought provoking discussions. Brad (an author who recently wrote a book called The Peaceful Man: Heal Within Yourself the Personal Effects and Historic Patterns of Male-on-Male Violence") stated "healing" as his most important value. He believes that each of us experiences some form of trauma in our lives and if we don't do the work to heal it we end up making decisions from an emotionally unhealthy place. Simply put, humans hurt each other and that creates an unending cycle of unnecessary suffering. Brad takes the optimistic view and believes if we (most notably men who statistically initiate most of the violence) acknowledge this fact and do the work to heal, the world can be a vastly better place. I very much agree with Brad that if more of us do the work to heal our trauma, and also to account for our natural human imperfections, there would be far less suffering in the world. However, the reason for this show is to take good ideas and dissect them to see if they really can provide tangible value. So Brad and I spent much of the show trying to dig deep on concepts like the inevitability of violence for humans, the double edge sword of humility, and how hard we should be on ourselves when trying to be "better." He had some really insightful views on all of these topics. Through all of this, I think my main take-away is: suffering is an inevitable part of life, but to Brad's point, let's experience that suffering in an effort to heal ourselves rather than in an effort to hurt others.

Multi-level marketing companies can be some of the biggest scams in the world. Not only do they provide a false hope of life changing narrative, but they share misinformation on wellness products. In this episode,we chat about how Lauren was a part of an MLM for almost seven years. She also shares how she got involved, what made her trust the MLM in the first place, and then the downward spiral on how she realized it was not all that it seemed. She is passionate not only about teaching but about encouraging women to be their own health advocates and informed consumers. Sometimes the small personal effects can have a big impact. It may be the irreplaceable keys to the loft, the invaluable smartphone, or treasured photos in the wallet. What are personal effects? They are usually personal property; items of particular significance that are carried or worn. These can be wallets, jewelry, phone, keys, etc. Items above a certain value, like a diamond engagement ring, fall into a different category. If she died in a care facility? Sadly, more often than not, some personal property will go missing at a care facility. It's a sad indictment of humans everywhere. When a lot of people pass through a patient's hospital room (EMTs, nurses, doctors, visitors, janitors, etc.), there is bound to be a set of sticky fingers with no way to figure out who did it. Personal property sitting on a patient's nightstand is an easy grab. The thief may not be a habitual thief but could simply be a person who sees a crime of opportunity. We've had this happen in many of our estates, sadly. The family knows that their loved one had a piece of jewelry at the care facility, and now it's gone. Heirs understandably get mad, and there is not much anyone can do. Unfortunately, this is something below the district attorney's radar and is typically hard to prove. If she died at home? In New York, when someone dies in their home, the police come and put up yellow police tape. You then need Letters Testamentary to enter. The police search the home for personal effects and put them into the evidence room at the police precinct. So, if you do get into the home and can't find something, check the police precinct. Also, the police purge non-cash valuables within 1 year. They can't hold things forever, or they will run out of room. If you are looking for the decedent's keys or special photos, etc., you need to get to the precinct as soon as you can. A year may sound long, but time seems to go fast when you're probating an estate. Sometimes it can take a year to get Letters Testamentary, so you need to move fast! Be aware that you will need to find the correct police precinct. We had an estate where we thought the personal effects were at the local precinct, but they were stored at the main one. This sounds like a pain, but at least the police secure the property and there is a paper trail of what they found. LD17E Q45 The Benefits of Christ's ResurrectionIn this podcast, we want to complete out studies on the Resurrection of Christ, in LD17, Q45. Lord's Day 17 How does Christ's resurrection benefit us? A. First, by his resurrection he has overcome death, so that he could make us share in the righteousness which he had obtained for us by his death. Second, by his power we too are raised up to a new life. Third, Christ's resurrection is to us a sure pledge of our glorious resurrection. We have been very careful to stress the historicity of the resurrection event. It happened, on a particular day in a certain place, and was witnessed by many many people. It was an event that changed lives. Those early disciples who witnessed the empty tomb, and who met the risen Saviour, and who touched his hands and his side, were transformed into apostles, ambassadors for Christ who spread the good news that He is Risen, and changed the world. That generation of first believers has long gone, but the message of the gospel is still being preached, and the resurrection of Jesus still matters, for it is still having an effect on our lives today. It is an objective HISTORICAL EVENT, that has subjective, PERSONAL EFFECTS in the lives of believers today. To read the NOTES CLICK THIS LINK. Hosted on Acast. Personal Effects: What Recovering the Dead Teaches Me About Caring for the Living Show Guest: Robert Jensen In Personal Effects, the owner of the world's leading disaster management company chronicles the unseen world behind the yellow tape and explores what it means to be human after a lifetime of caring for the dead. It tells Jensen's own story on how he came to this line of work, how he manages the chaos that is his life, and the personal toll the repeated exposure to mass death brings, in becoming what GQ called “the best at the worst job in the world.” Inspiring and heartwarming, Personal Effect is the story of survival and the importance of moving forward, Jensen allows his readers to see over his shoulder as he responds to disaster sites, uncovers the deceased, and cares for families to show how a strong will and desire to do good can become a path through the worst the world can throw at us.

On Tuesday, the 28th of September, my memoir Personal Effects – What Recovering The Dead Teaches Me About Caring For The Living, was released by Macmillan / St Martin's Press. After spending most of my adult life responding to major disasters, both in the military and as a civilian I am switching gears and focusing on sharing the lessons learned. This book is part of that process. It is my second book; my first was published in 1999 and is a forensic textbook. I have tried to approach writing and speaking for that matter as a storyteller – transporting the reader to different places, times, and experiences, bringing to life the events I have seen firsthand. With the goal of highlighting key lessons, I have observed — in leadership, crisis management, and transitioning through life-changing events to a new normal. These disasters included OKC Bombing, Bali Bombings, Boxing Day Tsunami, 2010 Haitian Earthquake, Grenfell Tower Fire, 911 attacks, and sadly so many others. I have also written an op-ed for USA today, as well as different pieces for other publications. Along with those, there are a series of print/audio/tv interviews. If you want to see those or what I am writing about they are here on this website under media.

Remember two episodes ago when a certain ocean movie broke Jerry? Well, this Pfriday we present The One That Broke Michael or, as it is more commonly known, PERSONAL EFFECTS. This indie exploration of grief gives us a scowling Ashton Kutcher, the always welcome opportunity to talk about Kathy Bates, and a really beautiful and understated performance from Michelle. We also do a heavy dive into the fractured release of this film and how films featuring bankable movie stars all but fall through the cracks. In health systems across the globe, nurses are relied upon and trusted to care for people and their families. What's lesser-known are the details of care, what nursing teams actually do, and how their innovation unfolds. The COVID-19 crisis has dramatically changed that and provided opportunities for the world to take a closer look at the behind-the-scenes details and see nurses as experts leading innovation. In this episode, nurses Carlos Trochez, Jr., BSN, RN and Simone Hannah-Clark, BN, RN, CCRN, two of the many thousands of nurses working in intensive care units around the world, reflect on the intensity and pace of real-time innovation in a pandemic and reveal how crowdsourcing from social media, collaborating across cultures and disciplines, and live choreography played a role in all the pieces coming together—and how they are present and highly attuned when the pieces, for some patients and families, fall apart. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Aleks Paunovic knew from an early age that he was destined to tell stories; whether it was with his fists as an amateur boxing champion, with his instrument as a musician, or in the truest form of storytelling: acting. A skilled athlete with razor sharp focus-- not to mention a descendent of three champion boxers-- it’s no surprise that he acquired his first taste of success in the boxing ring. That drive and determination coupled with his love of living on the edge led to a successful career as a stunt actor. Though Paunovic was gifted in his physical abilities he was also a man of the arts, and exercised his love for music as a member of a rock band—where he was “discovered” while performing on stage. It was there where he was asked to audition for the HBO movie “Heads,” and as fate would have it he landed his first acting role and set forth to take Hollywood by storm. Portraying a myriad of roles on both screens big and small, Paunovic has brought forth his unique skill set and chameleon like talent to transform himself into each character he plays. Whether it is a developmentally disabled man accused of murder in “Personal Effects” (opposite Kathy Bates, Ashton Kutcher, and Michelle Pfeiffer), or as an overzealous karate dad opposite Tom Hardy in “This Means War,” Paunovic truly takes each role to a new level further conditioning and developing his craft. Next up for Paunovic is the highly anticipated “Snowpiercer,” for TNT, opposite Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. In addition he stars as Julius in Syfy’s “Van Helsing,” (seasons 1-4 streaming on Netflix), which will return for its fifth and final season in the fall. He also portrays “Wech,” in Jason Momoa’s SEE for Apple+ TV, and will jump over the big screen with indie features “Chained,” and “Crimson Point,” both due for release later this year. Paunovic’s other feature film credits include “Hard Powder,” opposite Liam Neeson, “Siberia,” opposite Keanu Reeves, “Numb,” “War for the Planet of the Apes,” and the indie features “Volition,” and “Freaks,” which hit theatres September 13th. Additionally, he has starred in numerous television series such as: “Motive,” “Supernatural,” “Continuum,” “iZombie,” “The 100,” “Once Upon a Time,” and “Smallville,” amongst many others. Aleks Paunovic resides in Vancouver and Los Angeles.
