The "BIG" story of RWl#280 is the brand new single by The Rolling Stones called 'Angry'. This is fresh, new material and their first original music in more than 10 years. Mick says, “We just got lazy”.Their new album is due out around the 20th of October. The album title is ‘Hackney Diamonds' and it refers to a district in east London that is known for its art, music, and beautiful green parks and spaces. 'Hackney Diamonds' means, “It's like when you get your windshield broken on Saturday night in Hackney, and the bits go flying all over the street.” The Stones have a great live interview on their site with Jimmy Fallon. It is pretty funny and very cool. We wanted to make sure that the Stones had a great lineup to back them - and we do! Lightin' Hopkins was born in 1912 and rated as the 71st greatest guitarist of all time gives us 'My Starter Won't Start in the Morning.' George Harrison, Dorsey Burnett, Darius Rucker, The Wallflowers, and The Knack keep the show rolling. For Duran Duran fans, brand new from them is 'Danse Macabre' in their first new release in a long time! Shout outs to the Texas Self Storage Association and their upcoming 'Big Ideas' trade show in Ft. Worth. beginning on Sunday, October 8th and running through the 10th.Thanks as always for listening and for your requests!

Heather has been an athlete for most of her life. She took her love of swimming and entered the triathlon world, eventually crushing Ironman. She eventually married her love of running and all things Disney and tackled a number of runDisney runs. This is where she met Jen. Jen began running during her weight loss journey half a dozen years ago. She previously only ran from base to base as a varsity softball player and loathed running. But thanks to her friends and a supportive network, she ran her first 5K. Heather and Jen met as Jen was training for her first half marathon and eventually her first full marathon thanks to Heather's encouragement. The two are now dear friends and share a coach/athlete relationship. This friendship and love for running comes through on their podcast.    All information provided by Heather Jergensen Coaching and Runners Without Limits is of a general nature and is furnished only for educational/entertainment purposes only. We have been excited and thrilled with the folks from the KC Invasion. I was so thrilled that I put in the wrong song for Ron from The Invasion! I think it was when Gerry, my new teammate, who is, of course, a majestic Bald Eagle, began to fly around the Camelback Studio that I screwed up. Anyway, that's my story. However, I will give Ron his own special spot to end either RWL#267, The Longest Day, or RWL#268, WSOP. Sorry, Ron! We did get Bambi's right and made sure to fill the show with lots of good music. Brand new to our stage, check out Grainne Duffy. Sly, the Family Stone, and the Animals join Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix. Plus, one of our favorite chick bands, The Ravonettes from Denmark, is covering 'My Boyfriends Back' in the Deuces. Brand new Greta Van Fleet and Kylie Minogue help turn the lineup. So if you have tried to find our app in the Apple Store and couldn't, it's back and ready to be downloaded! Shoutouts to The Storage Group and Toy Storage Nation for their upcoming show this Friday in Boulder.

Thank you for joining us again on our book group and Reader's advisory podcast!  We are here to talk about books and share library ideas!   And now we are wrapping up the season! We've really enjoyed reading books with you, and having book group fun!  If you have missed any RWL, our archives are on the website. You can go back to cmle.org any time and listen to any of our podcast episodes. The book group is always here for you!   This week is pretty frustrating to discuss. We are librarians, and CMLE helps to support over three hundred different kinds of libraries across Central MN. We support the freedom to read, and the freedom to choose the books you want to read. If you have kids, you can encourage them to read the books you like and think are good. But it does not give anyone the right to tell other people they cannot read and enjoy a book. It's so wrong to keep books away from people, just because of the irrational fears or prejudices of a few individuals.   Check out our show notes page for links to our beverages, our resources, and the books we share today.   If you want to talk with me about library training, you can reach me at LibraryDrPod@gmail.com.

In this podcast I had the honor of interviewing Major General (retired) David Rubenstein. Among the many duties of his career, General Rubenstein was the commander of the Army Medical Department Center and School, which was the unit where I was an instructor before I retired from the Army, and he was also the chief of the Medical Service Corps, the Army branch that I served in for 23 years. Although I did not work directly with him on active duty, I can say that General Rubenstein was one of the most respected Medical Department generals I knew of during my career. While I only saw him at a distance while we were on active duty, over the last several years I have had the opportunity to get to know him post-retirement through our mutual interest in health administration education, and we had corresponded regularly about my RWL newsletter, so it was a real pleasure to get to interview him about his remarkable career. One thing Ms hooks will do is have you talking at length about her work, usually with striking polarity: one side really loved it and the other just could not get behind her ideas. For this new episode of Like A Real Book Club, Ashley, Kristina and Jherane take on one of hook’s more famous books and RWL’s March pick, “All About Love: New Versions”. Self-help, theory or a mixture of both? For us...it’s really whatever you managed to take from it. Engaging with hook’s work for a lot of readers may seem daunting because of her unmovable place as a central thinker in the Black feminist canon. However, our hope with this episode is that everyone recognizes the utility in reading our favourite theorists critically and that it’s okay to disagree with them. Sometimes they disagree with themselves years later! Grab your tea, your water or whatever you usually have while listening to podcasts and chat with us about what love is and how we can all create a love ethic. Cecilia is the co-founder of RWL ( https://www.resultswellnesslifestyle.com/ ) along side business partner Lucy Mecklenburgh, a celebrity personal trainer and huge inspiration to so many. Born in Paris, Cecilia grew up in Tunisia, New York and Miami before coming to London in the 1990's, and finally settling in Essex. Cecilia’s younger years were spent in hospitality working in restaurants, chalets and managing hotels. Her pivot into the world of fitness happened as a result of a huge personal challenge in her mid-thirties. Cecilia suffered from postnatal depression following the birth of her son Fabio and found that whilst antidepressants made her less depressed, she felt ‘less’ of everything else; less happy, less energetic and less joyous. After being on medication for 6 months and desperate to find a different solution, Cecilia turned to exercise and started training with one of Miami’s top personal trainers. Her life changed and she quickly came off Medication and found her natural high using exercise as a therapeutic method and form of meditation. Cecilia felt inspired to promote the power of exercise to other women, and upon moving back to the U.K become a Personal Trainer herself and opened her first Boutique PT studio in 2008. A second studio soon followed, where she met fellow co-founder Lucy Mecklenburgh and they started what would become a multi-million pound business. In 2013 Lucy and Cecilia’s fitness brand launched to become the first of its kind online Fitness Platform in the U.K, first as Results with Lucy and now rebranded for 2020, as Results Wellness Lifestyle, with a community of 500,000 followers across social media. As Cecilia approaches 5 million paid for workout sessions from her client base, Cecilia is almost certainly now the U.K's No.1 Personal Trainer. She brings a level of energy, love and passion to her unique brand of fitness, that radiates through to those following along and i certainly felt that energy speaking with her and I’m so pleased I’m able to share her story with you today. What I would ask you to think about during this conversation is this. Are you over complicated things? We have a tendency to over complete and I’m guilty more than most here. Consider whether you are over complicating things and also ask your self with this challenge that you are facing right now what ever it is.... what are you choosing not to see? There’s often some gold in all challenge we face if we’re willing to see and hear them. https://fl1ght.co.uk/ If you enjoyed this episode you may enjoy this episode with Esme Gummer, celebrity trainer and SAS.WDW contestant : https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/028-esmee-gummer-overcoming-paralysis-smashing-sas/id1339336927?i=1000430033436

Pain and discomfort can paralyze us but insecurities are just an excuse we use to not capitalize on an opportunity If it wasn't for fear you wouldn't understand love. We need to have and experience both.  How to embrace all of you, the stuff you love and the stuff you may not be so proud of Learn to bet on yourself How to see fear as your opportunity  Why would be scared of something that makes us aware? This is Fear.. Learning to take back control of your life by no longer allowing others to control you through the need of their approval   Realize your own truth to face it and use it to your advantage Some people are not destined to be good because some men cannot see themselves as good - it is all in your mind What would it be like if you woke up every day saying I'm great? Learn what all the religions have thing in common  The ways religion terrifies people because it holds them accountable to their truth The many ways we are all connected and how speaking from an authentic place can inspire those around you to do the same - it starts with one of us  Trusting that we are all one - what does this look and feel like Social media and likes make us feel like we are legitimate - how can you break this cycle and learn to depend on yourself

“The objects we have in our house are incredibly emotionally charged. The things we buy to numb ourselves or fit in, they can make us feel stagnant or obligated and we bring that energy into our home.” One of my secret loves is home decoration. Last summer I went through a huge purge after reading the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. It brought me such a sense of peace in my home that I actually had the women in my program The Sovereign Circle go through the exercise too!  It was a joy to sit down with Maggie Minor of Maggie Minor Designs in the latest RWL podcast episode to discuss the deeper emotional layers that are involved in the decluttering process. She shares how we need to address the void that comes when decluttering and invites us to ask, “How do we avoid just filling it up again with stuff?” Maggie shares her experiences of sitting with the discomfort of growing, evolving and letting go of the need to fill the void with more stuff to create space for greater joy and inner and outer alignment. She also shares about her recent big leap moving across the country, listening to her body’s wisdom, and the time she spent in the Peace Corps. I hope you enjoy the show! “Our homes are a three-dimensional vision board. So if we design our space to be in alignment with what we want, we are gonna get their quicker. It’s going to create flow in our lives.” In this episode we discussed: How joining the Peace Corps and living in Bulgaria informed Maggie’s life today Life transitions and taking a leap ~ listening to inner guidance to move across the country An exercise to connect with your inner knowing about making a a hard decision The emotional cleanse that comes with decluttering your life Resolving emotions and stories we carry with forgiveness work Curating your space to increase focus and a positive mindset How home decor can improve your mood and the areas of your house to focus on first Her book about being a humanitarian worker Sharing a space with someone else and how to navigate designing the home together “You always know the right answer…If we align ourselves with our bodies, and let the fear leave our bodies, the answers will appear. They are not always the answers we want, but they are always the right answers.” Links in this episode: Maggie’s Website: http://maggieminordesigns.com Iyanla Vanzant Forgiveness Course - https://www.ownlifeclasses.com/pages/iyanla-vanzant Tony Robbins Gratitude & Resolution Exercise - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-1mxzHlEKI More episodes at risingwomenleaders.com. She is the founder of Maggie Minor Designs, a resource for room designs and artwork that provides bold women with the resources to homes and offices that inspire them.  In her former life, Maggie spent almost 15 years traveling the world…as a graduate student in Australia, a student and backpacker in Europe, a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria and a humanitarian worker working in Asia and Africa. Her memoir, Adventures of a Curious Sculptor, recounts her long journey from adventurer to artist….and her appreciation for all of the beauty that surrounds us. Some of you may remember Luna Love from an episode where she interviewed me for her show - The Ladies Who Lead Podcast - where I shared my 4 Keys to Feminine Leadership.  I invited Luna on RWL to share about creative entrepreneurship, how she uses the muse to go for her dreams and about the process of inner marriage and how we can use it to come into wholeness to attract a loving partner. One of the things I admire about this woman is her ability to accomplish so much - while nurturing a feminine way of being and living - one of the values I hold so dear in my own business. In this episode she shares some of her secrets to "getting it all done" while creating space for what matters most. “Our capacity to receive as women is really not about other people giving us things but about our willingness to receive our unlimited potential and through the receptivity of that greatness lies the energy to create more and be of greater service…” ~ Luna Love In this episode Luna shares about: The “I can” vs. “I can’t” voice and how she came to be a women’s leadership mentor How to decipher and tune into intuition Tips on how we can find our purpose Creativity and the muse - what it is and how to use it to go after your dreams Luna’s secret to “getting it all done!” Inner marriage, personal responsibility and the list you need to write if you want to call in and attract a loving partnership The relationship tool Luna uses to use to cut through illusion and deepen connection Luna’s take on when it’s time to “feel the fear and do it anyway” and how to go about it — Luna is a Women’s Leadership Mentor, assisting those called to be change-makers in the world, in achieving clear vision for their lives by providing supportive, life-promoting experiences, practical tools and spiritual wisdom to align one’s divine essence, authentic expression and life-purpose. She creates transformative experiences for her clients through the power of self-awareness and self-love. Luna facilitates online courses, group coaching, workshops, immersion programs and retreats to support her clients in devoting themselves to themselves, and serving the world from that place. Additionally she works as a counselor at a leading holistic drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and writes for numerous online publications. Most of all Luna is devoted to walking her path in the beauty way.
