Today's episode walks you through this week's astrology + practical and magical tactics to help you harness and navigate the energetics May 12th - 18th 2025. Last week was a quiet and interesting swim towards our full moon today. Did you use the space to ground, to float, think, meditate, ponder, or allow feelings through? Last week did you: Get on the mat 2 - 4xs? Listen to 2 NEW episode on The Magic Spark Watch your Full Moon Tarot Reading on UWS This week is a layer cake of deep feels and healing. A reveal, loaded with spiritual topics, our literal dreams as well as our nightly astral travel, plus the Pisces of it all just says we're sensitive and we may cry. It's ok. Tears are a toxin release. They purge us of cortisol. LET IT OUT. Allow the mini shower from your eyes to refresh the way you see things. This week: Get on the mat 2 - 4xs Listen to 3 NEW episode on The Magic Spark Have a good cry Monday, May 12th: - Happy Mo(o)nday. Today is our micro full moon in Scorpio. Based on our community reading she's a pretty one, offering more softness than you'd expect. The energy continues to build through Thursday. It will either fuel you to finish up, launch, or complete something or...it'll drain you with its high frequency. As always, listen to your vessel. Hydrate. Spend some time outside. Get on the mat. Carve time alone to listen to your own heartbeat. Something wants to be heard. Something needs to be held. Something is being called up to be surrendered on the altar of the goddesses. They want you to let go of something. You don't need it any more. Carve space for quiet. Create time to feel, to cry, to witness. Scorpio always goes deep. Go with it. A mini underworld walk, a tiny baptism for new life minus some of the old skins, old narratives, and old wounds. Release, release, release. Flow with the energy that rolls thru. You may be called to hermit more. Do so. Tuesday, May 13th: - Day 1 of Stable Full Moon #2 -No props needed for this movement series! We do deep work today. You'll see all fours, plank, down dog, dolphin, dolphin push ups, serratus push ups, rolling plank, baby bird, swan, side kick series, side plank, knees off and camel. The full menagerie is here for strength and challenge. - Watch our Full Moon Tarot Reading. Something will be revealed and have you approaching something very differently, because you understand more. It's a delightful reading for this cycle. Don't skip it. Find it in the astrology monthly meditation and tarot section of your Unicorn Wellness Studio member library. Wednesday, May 14th: EP 135 on The Magic Spark Is our Gemini season tarot forecast. One card for the spirit in which to move through things with a mini dive into The Lovers card. Thursday, May 15th: - EP 136 on The Magic Spark Is our Gemini season deep dive and astro forecast. It may publish late...like next week, because I'm traveling but it's coming! The season is just around the corner. - Magical Mentoring 1:1 calls begin. Mentees that opted into either 1:1 this session or chose additional calls to Group Mentoring and I have 75 minutes together in the next 4 days to sift, sort, and empower their growth and healing. These calls are deep and require a lot of energy AND they're always such a gift that takes us on a magical mystery tour that helps in ways we didn't know possible or accessible. Friday, May 16th: - Day 1 of Stable Legs - You'll need a set of yoga blocks for this workout. We start with shoulder smudges, hip wipers, hip presses, modified hundreds, mermaid crunches, classical spine stretch series, crab walks and reaches, push ups on blocks, block presses (for the hamstrings), X stretch and block squeezes. Your lower body will be so happy after this video! - Aphrodite's Day. It's time to ask: What does my inner goddess need in order to remember she is sacred, divine, and designed to receive? Make the effort today to release, relax, indulge, heal, shine, glow, thrive, or rest. Saturday, May 17th: - Mercury Conjunct Neptune. Wild card day! Mercury and Neptune share the same spot in the sky today , but this energy can and will be felt up to 5 days prior and post. They squish past each other in a tight corridor and it could be a blessing or a lesson. Themes will center around thinking and or talking about spiritual themes. Mercury the great communicator wants to chat it up about the higher octaves of the watery expanse of Neptune. Dreams vs. delusions and what really matters; spirit, soul, healing. Tarot and astrology tools will serve you well this week or may simply take up more attention, space, or curiosity. Sunday, May 18th: - Jupiter Square the North Node (in Pisces). This is an interesting one. We don't usually talk about squares (they create tension) but it's Jupiter who expands things and often brings a gift with it. Jupiter will literally square off with the North Node in Pisces. It will offer us tension in terms of how we're moving forward with our healing, spirituality, and psychic gifts. If it feels like a lesson, lean in. If it's crunchy, the square is the tension of the pull back on a bow and arrow - it preps for flight and forward motion but will first take you back in order to prepare for forward momentum. It's Pisces, so mind your feelings, meaning pay attention. They aren't all facts but they are valid data points. Take note of the data that rolls through with this week and next. What are you thinking about your dreams, and spiritual connections? There is growth here and maybe a little karmic work. Past life healing, anyone? - North Node (in Pisces) semi-sextile Chiron. This aspect offers us more guidance to be mindful of your feelings and your vessel. A semi sextile is always some good flow, however it's Pisces which is the ocean of emotion, every kind of sensitivity you can name, and Chiron the wounded healer. Crying is on deck. The sads may be present. AND, it's healing and will move us forward. Hydrate yourself. Stay away from whatever our body registers as a toxin (keep your food clean and alkalize thyself!). And potentially make some space and have some grace on deck for yourself this week and next. It could be soft and tender or raw. It's ok. It'll pass but please prepare and learn something from it if you can. - Your weekly mantra: My emotions are vital and sacred...but they are not always or forever facts. I learn more deeply every day, to stay curious with where they are coming from and how I can allow them to shift or release, for healing, strength, and expansion. This episode is part of my interview as a guest on Liz Tran's podcast, Reset. Liz is an author, executive coach, and founder of Reset NYC. In addition to her fifteen years of tech and VC experience, Liz also coaches from her spiritual practice. She is a Buddhist and a trained meditation teacher. Her latest book, The Karma of Success, came out in July. I interviewed her around then where we spoke about the difference between self-esteem and self-worth, how to be assertive without being rude, how she works with founders, and more. In this episode, Liz not only interviews me but gives me a coaching session on air. Among other things, we speak about the role of emotion in decision making, regret, feeling behind, moves and other transitions, whether everything happens for a reason, and the pressure to "keep up with the Jonses". This week I spoke with author Mary Jelkovsky. Mary asked me on her podcast a couple months ago and when we recorded that interview we recorded one for Let It Out too. In the first half of this episode, Mary and I talk about how our difference in age impacts how we each use social media and technology, including how at only 16 she became an influencer as a fitness model, which led her to disordered eating, into recovery, and eventually to the work she's doing now to help women accept their bodies and let go of food and body obsession. She's written a best-selling book and accompanying journal, and over the past 5 years, she's been featured in TEDx, Teen Vogue, Shape, and Health Magazine. She also hosts the podcast Mary's Cup of Tea, and the second half of this episode is part of my interview as a guest there. We talk about how orthorexia led me to create a blog that became a podcast about wellness, and how I eventually transitioned it beyond that niche to what it is now. We also cover the mindset (and fears) of a freelancer and within creative projects, the importance of evolution, and tools and resources I've found useful. I loved meeting her and these conversations, and hope to have many more—let us know if you listen. Instead of an interview today is a mashup of two episodes of Spiraling, the podcast I co-host with Serena Wolf about mental health. We started in 2019 where I'd walk to her apartment once a week and we'd talk and eventually started recording our conversations around anxiety. It's been 4 years and now we live on opposite coasts, but we still record our conversations. The first half is from the middle of the current season, where we discuss navigating different timelines and expectations both from ourselves and from society. I picked this episode because I got messages from people saying it was comforting to hear where I am with being a single person navigating a freelance career so, even though it makes me cringe a little, I'm sharing it here too. The format of Spiraling is that Serena and I both share our “spirals” for the week, try to help each other talk through them, then discuss a topic: the one you're about to hear is on comparison, money, the decision to have kids, and aging. All of this sounds real heavy but we're mostly laughing and we always end with a segment called "high, higher, highest" where we share three highs of the week. The second half of this mashup is our goofy reintroduction episode where we each share favorite books, drinks, songs and more. Show notes:- To hear the full episodes of Spiraling these excerpts came from, listen to the first episode of Season 4 here, the fourth episode here, and the full archive here- Favorite products mentioned:Sea Clear probioticKatie's infusion container - Books mentioned:Katie's rec: The Book of Laughter and ForgettingSerena's Recs: The Idea of You and An Absolutely Remarkable Thing- Other codes to use to support the show:Ozma code: Katie15

This week, I had a conversation with Jocelyn Kelly Reid. With 15 years of sales and marketing experience, she now helps women around money and finance in a unique way. She's personally lost everything and built it back up and now she has the ability to help others do the same. She's sensitive, sweet, and honest, as you'll hear in this conversation. We talked about trauma, burnout, needing open space, working through financial blocks, her embodiment practice, the importance of directly communicating needs, how you can be addicted to a person, and much more. Jocelyn talks in depth about her background and upbringing where she felt different from those around her, recovering from an eating disorder, and feeling “too much”. This episode also features my lovely conversation with midwestern mattress maker and father of five Tim Masters, founder of My Green Mattress. I genuinely loved speaking with Tim as much as he loves making mattresses for people. He talks about taking over a mattress business when he was young, living in the apartment above it, and how one day a woman came into the shop who read his palm and told him he was meant to heal people. That helped him realize he does just that through his ability to find the correct-fitting, non-toxic mattress for every body that walks into his shop regardless of size or shape. “What I was told was never the goal.” -Ryan Shekell In life, there are two people who will tell you that you can't do it: other people and yourself. Other people will sometimes say things that will discourage you, even if they mean well. But it is helpful to remember that when they say you can't, it doesn't have anything to do with you or what you can or can't achieve. Other people's opinions of you are formed based on their own experiences, not yours. And then there's yourself—your inner critic. This is the voice inside your head that tells you you'll fail at whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. When you say you can't do something, it starts to feel true. But remember that you are the only person in charge of your life, so be careful with how you treat yourself! It's probably the second one that can get to us the most. So, what can we do to make sure these voices do not drown our potential? In this episode, Ted speaks with Ryan Shekell, the host of Every Breath Counts Podcast. At 18, Ryan was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. As a young man yet starting to pursue his dream, this could mean the end. But not for Ryan! If you have spent any time in the dating scene as of late, you know navigating those waters can be murky as hell. So what is one to do if you want to attract meaningful, rich, connected love in your life? Like, where the fuck are those folks? The ones who do the work on themselves, who understand their wants and needs, and who can actually use their god-damned words!!? Since I've been hangin' out with Mr. Smith for nearly a quarter century, I thought it would be helpful to dial up an expert who knows a thing or two (or forty) about dealing with today's dating landscape and how you can reclaim your personal power in such a vulnerable space. On this “tool” episode of the show, I dial up Veronica Grant, a dear friend and colleague who is a life and love coach working specifically with successful women who feel they have it all… except love. Hello! Not only is Veronica a successful coach and author, but she works with the specific modality of Inner Child Work to help folks unlock the historical issues that may be thwarting love. Creep our conversation where Veronica shares how she uses Inner Child Work with all her clients and students and also shares how she works with The Rule of 3… Meaning if you notice a pattern in your dating life that occurs three or more times, it's probably time for some introspection. She also walks us through a series of analysis elements you can use to explore where things may be going awry. This pod explores: How Veronica's relationship with her body highly influenced the quality of partners she was attracting (and what she did to shift that) How to work with The Rule of Three to examine detrimental patterns in your dating life Veronica's three-part process to work with your Inner Child and heal wounds that affect your ability to attract love Understanding how the Law of Attraction can be toxic positivity and actually kinda gaslight-y… especially when it comes to love HIRE ME TO SPEAK AT YOUR EVENT! ACCESS ‘ENOUGHNESS'. POWERFULLY NAVIGATE FEAR. SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF. I have three battle-tested (and badass) keynote speeches that are ready to be delivered to your company, organization, group, or association. Today's conversation is with author and mindfulness teacher Rosie Acosta. Growing up in East LA in the 90s as a first-generation Mexican-American, Rosie suffered from agoraphobia, panic attacks, and anxiety. After being arrested a few times, at 16, she began to feel disillusioned with her family's unwavering Catholic faith and soon after discovered meditation and yoga, eventually leading her to her career as a yoga and meditation teacher. Since then, she's been featured in Yoga Journal, Forbes, The New York Post and more. Rosie and I met over five years ago when she visited Detroit with Yoga Journal Magazine. Recently, we spent a morning catching up, first in an episode of her weekly podcast, then in this conversation, where we cover navigating cycles in relationships, disillusionment and faith, and her new book and the process of writing it. This week on Wisdom Wednesdays, Rosie and Katie talk about the importance of embracing the changes in your life. We get different reactions whenever we look at old photos of ourselves. Some of us feel nostalgic, some feel embarrassed, and some are even in disbelief. It could be the old hairstyle, fashion choices, or even the way we posed for those pictures — all these remind us of our humble beginnings. They also remind us how things have changed. As many years passed, you've now embodied not just a different appearance but also varying views, opinions, and principles. As we go through new experiences every day, how can we fully embrace these changes? This episode is brought to you by: Pretty LitterBest Litter EVER! www.prettylitter.com use promo code loved to get 20%OFF your first order! This week I spoke to New York Times journalist and author of Blood, Sweat & Chrome, Kyle Buchanan. He reports on pop culture and writes the NYT awards season column, The Projectionist, which he took over from the late great journalist David Carr. Prior to joining The Times in 2018, Kyle was a senior editor at Vulture, where he covered the movie industry. Appropriately, he gives advice on writing and we talk about the craft of interviewing, creating safety in conversation, connection, movies, returning to theaters, and the upcoming Oscars. And of course, we talk about his new book on Mad Max and the process of writing an oral history. Since the episode is shorter than some, I tee it up with a helpful piece of advice from Kyle's predecessor, David Carr. I loved this conversation about connection, pop culture, writing, and collaboration.
