Gio was watching some of the NFL combine yesterday. Caleb Williams showed up at the combine but declined medical evaluation. Gio wonders why Phil Simms isn't there as he likes to evaluate QBs by grabbing at their lower halves. We also talked about the NFL touchback rule with a ball that's fumbled out of the endzone. Boomer doesn't like the rule but it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Warriors beating the Knicks. Snoop Dogg went down his list of top NBA players in the league right now. Gio would love to see Snoop doing NBA coverage on TNT. Peter King had Boomer number 2 on his all time favorite QBs to deal with in his career. Peyton Manning was number 1. In the final segment of the hour, Shaun Morash told a terrible ‘dad joke' yesterday. We also thumbed through Evan's new book, ‘My Mets Bible'. One of the games involved Gio in L.A. and the Ryan Church game. There was a Vin Scully story involving the word ‘penis'.

Don Handfield, Joshua Malkin, and I talk about the differences between writing screenplays and collaborating to write a graphic novel, such as their newest, UNIKORN. We talk about acting with Robert Duvall, getting around lawsuits from McDonalds for THE FOUNDER, persevering to make KNIGHTFALL, being a videogame architect, guest staring on SAVED BY THE BELL: THE NEW CLASS, a potential rift in time/between universes, ghost hunting, and so much more. Don is the co-creator of History Channel's drama series Knightfall and produced The Founder, starring Michael Keaton, and Kill The Messenger, starring two-time Academy-Award nominated actor Jeremy Renner. Don also wrote and directed the Saturn Award-winning film Touchback starring Kurt Russell and Christine Lahti. His first comic series The Rift was produced by Steven Spielberg/Amblin Entertainment as an episode for the upcoming Apple reboot of Amazing Stories. His second series, The Mall, was optioned by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) for development into a TV show. Don was named one of the top new faces of independent film by Filmmaker Magazine and has written screenplays or produced films for all the major studios. Joshua has written feature projects for Sony, Warner Brothers, Cross Creek Entertainment, Universal Pictures as well as for more than a dozen production companies, both big and small. These include: an adaptation of the 80's cult franchise Beastmaster, a supernatural thriller for Australian company See Films and a “re-boot” of the franchise Buck Rogers In the 25th Century. He also wrote and produced three documentaries: two about the art of puppetry, and the other about underground comics. In 2008, his screenplay Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever completed production for Lionsgate. He is currently developing an animated family film for Intrigue Entertainment, a horror movie for Traveling Picture Show, and a TV series for showrunner Jonathan Glassner (Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1.) As we wait to find out who the new offensive coordinator will be, we pick Mike Holmgren's brain about what coaches look for when hiring an OC, and what Russell Wilson is looking for from the hire. Also, is it really too much to ask to get an O-line that can both pass and run block? Finally, we get Coach's take on the controversial touchback rule. He and Kevin aren't on the same page. Speaking of the touchback rule, what should the penalty be for a fumble in the end zone? Texts react to the show at 49451. Softy reacts during cross talk.

The Divisional Round of the 2021 playoffs are now in the books! The winners of the next game will go to the Super Bowl, but before that, check out Jon & Schif's thoughts on the games. The Packers are who we thought they were. The game of Aaron's did not disappoint. Rodgers played out of his mind. The Rams didn't look bad, but boy did the Pack look good! The Chiefs got some favorable calls, but none more controversial than the fumble at the goal line that took points from the Browns and gave the Chiefs the ball at the 20. The rule is a strange one. Jon & Schif debate on whether it's a good one or not. They also give some interesting alternatives. The Ravens lost to Buffalo and Bills Mafia made a wonderful gesture to Lamar Jackson. Check out Jon's message to those fans! The Bucs beat the Saints in the Old Man Bowl. What did the guys think about Tampa and New Orleans? Jon is losing big time in Flip Em & Pick Em. He needs to get his shit together! The episode ends with an awesome 49ers origin story. Send yours in if you haven't so we can find out how you became a fan of your team! Drew Powell can be next seen in the major feature film remake of the 1971 film “Straw Dogs,” directed by Rod Lurie and due for release on September 16th. Powell grew up in Lebanon, Indiana, outside of Indianapolis. He graduated from DePauw University, where he majored in English Literature and was a Media Fellow, an honors program in media studies. He was active in the theatre department, and wrote and performed in campus television shows and student films. His first television appearance was a small co-starring role in the hit television series "Malcolm in the Middle." So impressed were the producers of the show that they wrote the role into episode after episode and even named the character after him: “Cadet Drew.” He appeared on many episodes of the show over two seasons. Next up for Drew was the prequel to "Bonanza" called "The Ponderosa” on which he played Hoss Cartwright. The twenty episodes produced continue to air on cable. Shooting in rural Australia, Drew met and fell in love with Veronica, now his wife, who was a make-up artist on the show. Drew’s first starring role in a major feature film is in the remake of the 1971 film “Straw Dogs,” directed by Rod Lurie and due for release in late 2010/early ‘11. Other feature film appearances include “Starship Troopers 2,” “The Marine,” “Mexican Sunrise” and “1408” with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. Drew has guest starred on numerous television series including “House,” “Leverage,” “Psych,” “ER,” “The Office,” “CSI,” “Cold Case,” “Without a Trace,” and “Monk.”
