Superheroes, Movies & Superhero Movies: A Cinema Heroes Podcast
Universal Studios decided it wasn't done with Isla Nublar or Jurassic Park and hired director Colin Trevorrow to helm the franchise's fourth film. Although this sequel ignores parts 2 and 3 and is considered a soft reboot, whatever that means. This time around we've got a whole new cast of characters. In fact, we've got whole new dinosaurs, including one that was genetically engineered: The Indominus Rex. Was this sequel necessary? Is it any good? Check out what the guys think of it and let us know what you think of Jurassic World! Cinema Heroes YouTube Instagram Twitter
Siblings Gray (Ty Simpkins) and Zach (Nick Robinson) are sent on vacation to visit their Aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), who is the manager of operations at the Costa Rica island resort known as Jurassic World, a tourist attraction funded by mega-billionaire named Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan) that takes its basic idea from the original Jurassic Park but seeks to do the formula right (i.e., more profitably). In addition to the assortment of dinosaurs, the corporation is looking into creating their own hybrid dinos through experiments in genetic engineering that are sure to draw in even more interested visitors year after year. Their biggest creation is the Indominus Rex, a creation that splices the T. Rex DNA with a hodge-podge of other predators of various strengths, that just might be the most deadly creature that has ever roamed the Earth. (I suppose it's not a good sign that 'indominus' is Latin for 'untamable'.) Navy vet Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is a behavioral research consultant and talent trainer at the facility, looking into the ability of these dinosaurs to learn from human instruction, and he's especially made progress at whispering to velociraptors, which may prove to be a much-needed thing now that Indominus Rex has gotten out of its cage and is prepared to hunt and kill whatever it can on the island, which ultimately could mean the slaughter of 20,000 visitors trapped in the theme park. Colin Trevorrow directs.

In 2015, Colin Trevorrow was selected by Steven Spielberg to take us back to Jurassic Park. Following a gaggle of unmade movies including a bizarre Dino/Human mutant movie, the simplest way to bring us back into this world was finding out what a fully functioning park with Dinosaurs would look like. Similar to the original film, the genetic modification goes too far, and our main characters have to save parkgoers from the Indominus Rex, a T-Rex/Raptor monstrosity.

The black guy tells him to relax, anything in here would be dead by now. When I seen this I thought it was 4 years later so yeah everything should be dead. But it wasn't until a tweet after the films release Colin had to confirm these opening events are 6 months after the evacuation. Tell us in the film! This is going to be a repeated trend moving forward unfortunately. -the sub settles on the bottom of the lagoon and in the glow of the searchlights we can see a bony structure. -as the search light blow out the lighting in the frame we transition to a side shot of the sub approaching the skeleton, and a voice over from one of the mercenaries fills us in on what we are seeing and what their objective is. “There she is, the indominus Rex.” -and as the minute ends the subs robotic arm extends outwards and grips a rib bone. Indominus rex and Indoraptor are two of the most recognizable dinosaurs from the JP series, but were they real dinosaurs? In this episode we'll hear Dinosaur George speak about both. There is also a short interview with one of his Tyrannosaurus Patreon Club Members, as well as some Q&A, and then two very unique "Who Would Win" battles.
This week's episode is not a review of any existent episode of the show Dinosaurs. Ben Handupme found a thread from 2015 in which multiple people debated who would win in a 3-way fight between Indominus Rex from Jurassic World, the Vastatosaurus Rex from King Kong, and Earl Sinclair from Dinosaurs. Ben reads the heated debate to We're Gonna Need Another Timmy after the two hosts discuss Limp Bizkit for what has to be like the 50th time on Sinclairity. Next week's episode is about an episode of Dinosaurs that is basically about boobs, so hang in there if you don't find our bonus episodes charming.
This is just a series of randomalities that started with a dino battle...that's all the description I can give you because I don't even know myself.

In this episode I discuss the Albino Terror from Jurassic World
Main Entrance FastCast: Theme Parks, Museums, and so much more!
In 1993, a film premiered that was unlike anything that had come before it. Audiences worldwide were shocked by the incredible monsters it featured and the sheer terror wrought upon its main characters. Meanwhile, a 7-year old boy in Minnesota watched the film and thought, boy, that would be an amazing theme park. That film, of course, was Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece, Jurassic Park. Our story begins in 1996 on the lower lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. There, the creative minds at Universal brought a small section of Isla Nublar to Southern California in Jurassic Park: The Ride. In the story, Guests are about to tour Jurassic Park through a River Adventure ride. In the queue, Guests hear all about the park from its founder, John Hammond, played again by the incomparable Richard Attenborough. Once on board, Guests are lifted up to the river, where Richard Kiley, notably the narrator selected by Jurassic Park author Michael Chricton in his book, and also featured in the film, introduces the park. The gates open and Guests come face to face with ultrasaurs, psittacosaurs, stegosaurs, compsognathus and a playful parasaurolophus. They are unfortunately bumped off course near the predator enclosures where they encounter the spitting dilophosaurus. Heading into an Environmental Systems Building to escape, Guests instead come face to face with hungry velociraptors, and finally, from behind a waterfall, they meet the king (or should I say queen) of the dinosaurs, the T-Rex herself, before falling 85 feet to the lagoon below. Interestingly, development for this ride began while the movie was still in production, leveraging the creativity of production designers right from the film! The attraction was a smash hit, and brought a whole new level of detail to Universal attractions. This success was replicated just three short years later with the opening of Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. While very similar to the California experience. Florida’s ride, the Jurassic Park River Adventure, features a raptor containment unit falling above Guests in place of a falling jeep effect from the original. Also, in Florida’s story, a Jurassic Park was opened in Orlando following the disaster at Isla Nublar, but it also might be on an island. Admittedly, it’s a little unclear. What’s not unclear is the grandeur and scale of the attraction, as well as the amazing presence of Richard Attenborough as John Hammond once again. Two years later, Universal took the dinos overseas with the opening of the ride again at Universal Studios Osaka. This version is very similar to Orlando’s attraction. In 2010, however, designers breathed new life into the ride franchise with the opening of the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure in Singapore. Instead of a shoot-the-chutes experience, Guests ride in 9-person rafts on a wild churning river. The highlight of this attraction involves a unique elevator-type lift in the park’s “Hydroelectric Plant” where a hungry T-Rex awaits above delicious riders, who only just escape down a 40-foot escape chute. From there, we come full circle, as we return to Universal Studios Hollywood. With the Jurassic Park film franchise receiving a breath of new life in the highly successful Jurassic World films, Jurassic Park: the Ride underwent a major renovation starting in 2018, reopening in July 2019, becoming Jurassic World: The Ride. Alongside the returning park denizens from the original ride, the popular Mosasaurus and Indominus Rex were added to the attraction, along with an all new look and feel consistent with the 2015 film. Perhaps new additions will come with the opening of Universal parks in China and Orlando. One thing is for sure, the ride future looks bright for the franchise 65 million years in the making.

Lava Finds a Way This week on the podcast Johnny and Brian travel back to Isla Nublar to see what is happening with those pesky dinosaurs clones. Then they spend the episode reviewing the latest Jurassic World outing. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) Summary Three years after the incident at Jurassic World, Isla Nublar has been abandoned. A small team of mercenaries arrives on the island to collect DNA from the Indominus Rex, whose remains lie at the bottom of the park’s lagoon. After sending a bone fragment to the surface, the team is attacked by the park’s Mosasaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. As the team barely escapes, the lagoon gate is left open, allowing the Mosasaurus to escape into the ocean. In the United States mainland, a U.S. Senate hearing debates whether Isla Nublar’s dinosaurs should be saved from an impending volcanic eruption. Mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm testifies that the dinosaurs should be allowed to perish to correct the mistake John Hammond made by cloning them long ago. Meanwhile, Jurassic World’s former operations manager, Claire Dearing, has created the Dinosaur Protection Group to save the dinosaurs. When the Senate rules against rescuing the animals, Claire is contacted by Benjamin Lockwood,...
The park is indeed very much gone... Here we have the fifth instalment in the Jurassic franchise and the sequel to the soft reboot/revamp that came in 2015. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Directed by J. A Bayona and written by Derek Connolly and Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow, Fallen Kingdom shoehorns returning characters into another action romp featuring dinosaurs. Three years after the evacuation and closure of Jurassic World, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from an erupting volcano. Owen and Claire are caught up in a plot to capture and sell the dinosaurs on the black market, as well as a newly engineered hybrid created from Indominus Rex and Velociraptor DNA – the Indoraptor.
After saying we wouldn't need to do a spoiler review on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom we apparently decided we wrong as life...uh somehow found a way to enable us to come back and give our FULL thoughts on one interesting movie with our SPOILER review of one of the biggest films of 2018. How great is it that we can finally discuss THAT twist? Why is it such a stupid twist? How many different plot holes can both Ben & Colin pick out? Does the fact we can talk about spoilers make the ending better or worse? How does this film open the door for more returning characters in the next film? Do we like the Indoraptor better than the Indominus Rex? And does talking about spoilers make this film better or worse? It's time to get Jurassic again as we move into the final film in our epic Jurassic Park month by looking at the movie nobody excepted to be as big as it was, Jurassic World from 2015. Do Ben & Colin like this movie or has it gotten worse with age? How bad are the kids in this film and why do we hate them so much? Is this movie supposed to be a Christmas movie? Why do the kids have such horrible parents? Is Claire amazing or annoying? Which character do both the boys agree is the best character in the movie? How is this movie sexist? Do we like the fact that dinosaurs have been genetically engineered further than they should be? Should Raptors be able to be trained? Is Owen always right or is he just an idiot? Do we like Jimmy Fallon? Why are the kids happy after nearly dying? Is the Indominus Rex simply trying to save the dinosaurs and not kill them? Why is Zara killed so graphically? And why does this movie make Colin & Ben slightly scared for the sequel? Get all those answers and more in yet another amazing podcast you will remember forever!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
In honour of the release of Rampage and the imminent release of jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the Silver Screen Dudes are counting down the TOP 10 Sc-Fi Monsters. From the dino-like monsters like Godzilla, the T-Rex and the Indominus Rex, to the Alien monsters like The Thing, Predator and (of course) the Xenomorphs, to the downright bizarre like the Kaiju and Tremors, Hollywood is certainly blessed with some phenomenal Sci-Fi monsters, but which will make the Rushmore?

HoLy PiPeRoNi! BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD is 4-sure on my list as one of our most #PiPeRiFiC interviews in the past 9 years! She is sooooo sweet, smart, pretty, and everything else MeGa-AwEsOmE I can think of! We talked about nearly everything from dragons (PETE’S DRAGON, of course) to dinosaurs (yup, JURASSIC WORLD 2 inside info) to Fonzie (Henry Winkler…I’m ready for an interview) and Olaf (Josh Gad) to Stella Adler and acting! Bryce has forged a path ToTaLLy her own with a really intense and awesome acting background including several years at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Stella Adler Conservatory! She put in a ton of work way before meeting Spiderman and an Indominus Rex! #GirlPower major! Soooo…for anyone who actually doesn’t know (and since I don’t have an interview to show you…yet), Bryce’s Dad, Ron Howard, is in some of the best shows in American TV history (Happy Days, The Andy Griffith Show, etc) and has created some of the most fun and popular movies since then! (We read that Bryce was hidden somewhere in Whoville as a scared Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!) We’ve always heard super-nice things about Ron Howard…if he’s anything like Bryce, it’s all gotta be true! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PIPER on iMDB: http://imdb.me/PiperReese ----------------------------------------------------------------------- REGISTER on PIPERSPICKS.TV: http://piperspicks.tv/ INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/PipersPIcksTV TWITTER: http://www.twitter.com/PipersPicksTV FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/PipersPicksTV ©2016 Piper's Picks® TV =====================

This week, Chris and Joe are talking about Jurassic World (2015), and how they would survive if they came up against the Indominus Rex! Jurassic World is part sequel, part re-boot, part trip down memory lane. A fun thrill-ride which ticks all the boxes of a summer blockbuster - including absolutely ludicrous decisions made by characters in their attempts to survive. We talk about the complete lack of corporate resposibilty shown by every member of a multi-billion dollar corporation; the difficulty of keeping the world's most deadly land animal a secret during its rampage; and the appropriate time for civillian helicopter pilots to involve themselves in military operations. All of which leads to the ultimate question: How would you survive? As ever, send your suggestions to howtosurviveshow@gmail.com, and remember - this is all Chris Pratt's fault. Another classic film solved by the best movie podcast in the world.
"We're going to need more teeth" In the hit movie Jurassic World, the lead characters realize they are outnumbered when they face off against the Indominus Rex. They know that if they don't get some back up, they aren't going to survive. As Christians we are called to provide backup for our brothers and sisters in Christ. When we see the odds stacking up against them, we rise to the occasion, rush to the rescue and provide support for those in need.
In preparation for the fourth installment, Keith and Rachel watched Lost World and Jurassic Park 3. Do they regret that decision? What did they think of Chris Pratt and Jurassic World? Were they annoyed by a small child in the theater? Answers within!
"To a canary, a cat is a monster. We are just used to being the cat."As a species that dominates our planet with superior intelligence, human beings often forget about the monster in ourselves and take for granted our hegemony in the food chain. Stories about beasts of sheer size and brutal strength, like Godzilla, sometimes take us by surprise, but for most of us the lumbering kaiju looks more amusing than seriously frightening. On the other hand, smart predators with cunning and resource equal to mankind are a different story, because we homo sapiens are vulnerable against enemies with fangs and claws that can't be outsmarted. That's why the raptor that opened door was scary in Jurassic Park, while the T-Rex couple in "The Lost World" sequel was not.14 years after the last entry to the franchise, the 2015 addition "Jurassic World" has plenty of lessons to draw from. This time they've got the formula right. Indominus Rex, a genetically enhanced predator the size of a Tyrannosaurus rex, is concocted in a research lab as a new attraction for the dinosaur theme park. The combination of DNAs from various unidentified species yields the most lethal killer, the fear of which keeps viewers thrilled despite a stale format. There really isn't anything fresh to see apart from the humongous predator at large. Once again, it is human arrogance and greed that lead to the creation of the beast, once again the dinosaur whisperer scientist with good conscience gives out warnings in vain and once again innocent children need to survive the jaws. Lead actor Chris Pratt tries to play alpha among a pack of raptors, but he is given no chance to cast his pelvic sorcery. In the battle of teeth, humans have no place. In a movie that aims for "bigger, louder and more teeth", character development can be problematic. Chris Pratt is not the only casualty. Also at fault is the park owner Simon Masrani played by Irfan Khan - initially posing as an adorable boss who cares about staff and dinosaur welfare but later reduced to an irresponsible playboy consumed by corporate greed. The worst slip-up, however, is when one of the small boys breaks down over their parent's divorce, despite no previous subtext leading up to this point, nor is the subject addressed ever again thereafter. So compared to the well-organised dinosaur storyline, the human related narrative is almost deliberately ignored. For those of you who merely wish to see more teeth, "Jurassic World" offers a brilliantly executed story, just don't expect it to be perfect.

We aren't able to provide a full episode this week as we had initially planned due to a scheduling conflict. However, since we've been away for a few weeks and there are stories that Matt and Ed want to talk about, we have prepared this minisode for your delectation. In this short, sharp chat, they talk about the continuing success of Jurassic World, which continues to eat records like an Indominus Rex chomping on people, the news that Ava DuVernay has passed on directing Black Panther for Marvel, and the announcement that Paul Thomas Anderson is going to write a live-action version of Pinocchio for Robert Downey, Jr. That last story in particular leads to a lot of befuddlement.
