PERSONAL / YOUTUBE UPDATE. I’ll go to bed and have some sleep now, because I’ve had a few nights in a row now, with not so much of sleep. Because! I’m really working on my YouTube channel at the moment, and like my podcast; then I see it as some sort of portfolio, that hopefully can help with adding lots of value to you guys and other viewers. If you feel like it, then go and check out my channel. I would love to know if it resonates with you and if it’s bringing you any value (that’s the plan, so I’m convinced it will) When that is said, then I’m recording all of the videos in my living room (at this current time!) and some of them are better than others. But that’s okay for now. As long as they get even better with time. I live by these words; start before you’re ready and then: adjust, apply and continue. Talk soon. xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
BE STRATEGIC ON GROWING YOUR AUDIENCE. So, I thought I wanted to share a little tip with you guys on growing your audience! And in specific; on YouTube. As some of you know, then I’m a big believer in more followers, means more potential customers, which means more potential sale. And since my mission is, to help you make your dreams come true, in the fields of coaching, author, podcaster, tv presenter or tv show creator - then it’s relevant enough of me to share a post on how to grow your audience, even though I’m expanding my field here by talking a little bit about YouTube. So, tomorrow is precisely ONE week ago I started my YouTube channel, and since then my channel has grown with 866% and I have a current reach of 9.231. With that said then: I don’t have so many views or subscriptions yet, but let me tell you how to get even more exposed without investing any money (at all) in reaching more potential audience: be aware of what you name your YouTube videos! As you can tell, then I have lots of videos which is in the top 10 or top 3 on YouTube, in its category, even though I don’t have that many views YET. Set time aside to do some research on the NAMES of your videos, because when you succeed with ranking them high on the list of search word, then it’s only a question of time for people to find you and thereby: grow your audience. Keyword: be strategic! ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HEART VERSUS BRAIN DECISIONS. ''Keep dreaming. Keep creating. Keep leading with your heart.''Here’s another great one by Marie Forleo. I just read it on twitter and it hit me that... I’m finally in a place in my life, where I can say, honestly, that I’m leading 100% with my heart. With that said, then I’m aware that heart decisions ain’t always theeeee right ones, because we have to take care of our life, heart and those people who we love and care about - and sometimes, that’s the brain decisions which can ALSO be great at that. What leads you in your decision making? And how do you balance the heart/brain decisions in your life? Would love to know. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
TELEPROMPTER: GO OR NO GO? Hi everyone! It’s been a week (or weeks?) since I posted something, because I’ve been busy working on my other social media platforms. I’m a big believer of getting yourself out there, as much as you can, in order to grow your audience - and therefore; later on your customers too. So as some of you know, then I’ve been super focused on my Instagram, then later on my podcast and now - I’m currently working on my YouTube channel. In a few weeks I’ll be able to continue my focus back (in a balanced way!) on all of my different social media platforms at the same time, instead of only working on reaaaallyy building ONE platform at the time. So! I have a few thoughts on the ‘teleprompter’ theme as you can tell from my picture. I’ve tried a few, and also bought one - I’ve watched many YouTube videos about the BEST ones and downloaded and bought the best one - BUT! Don’t do that. No matter how great you are, then my opinion is that it’s not worth the effort on trying to become great at it. Because! Your audience will be able to tell, that you’re using a teleprompter. Your eyes will be reading (if you know what I mean) EVEN if the text is placed millimetres from the camera lens. Or even on top of it. You can also tell from the way you present your script, it will sound like you’re reading - and your audience won’t connect with it. Instead, try to see if you can memorize your script instead! I have made a post and a YouTube video about - how you can do that in a great way.Enjoy and good luck on your journey of producing amazing content. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING BEFORE STARTING ON YOUR WRITING PROCESS. This is a picture from one of my settings during my writing process of my first book: feet’s out of the window, sun in the face and the computer inside of the apartment, so I was able to see the screen more clearly. There’s lots of ways to do a writing process - the most important thing is that you feel good. Personally, then I’ve written both of my books at the same cafe and in my apartment. For me the most important thing was to feel inspired, to like the vibe, but also to feel a sense of peace and make sure that my environment wouldn’t disturb me during writing. For you content creators out there (and for everyone else who’s deeply concentrated and focused on something...) then being disturbed is the worst thing, because it breaks your flow and most often (worst case) makes it really difficult to get back in to a fx writing rhythm. So, I find that the environment and the surroundings might be the #1 most important thing to get straight (to find) before starting your writing process. Because it will help your process so much more, and you’ll get further with your dream by making sure that the practical things around you WORK, before loosing yourself in stories, imagination and so on. I’m so curious; what’s your preferred way to work/create? xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO AVOID CREATING DRAMA FOR YOURSELF DURING AN INTERVIEW. So here’s a blurred black and white picture from a setting on stage during the book fair in Copenhagen. What I leaned from this interview is simply: • If you don’t know something, about something, then say that. Instead of trying to pretend that you do. • If the interviewer is trying to point the interview in a certain direction by the line up of questions being asked, then focus on the reason why you’re doing the interview in the first place and direct the focus back on your want and intention with the interview. Most often journalists will try to push you in a certain direction which is good for the direction and form they wish the interview to take, because they know that the topics, focus, angle, theme or so on is fx hot topics or something that people buy in on by fx physical buying a magazine or by clicking on a article on the internet. When this is said, then here’s an important note: I’m not saying that this interviewer did that. But I’m saying that I was aware about the fact, that journalists most often has a agenda. So: practise staying focused on the message you want to deliver/point you’re trying to make or so on - and be proactive and aware about pointing the interview in a direction which benefits you and your dreams. xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
WHAT TO WRITE AND WHEN TO WRITE?So the other day I got a question from some of you about what to write and when to write. When having a dream about becoming an author and publishing a book, doesn’t always equals that you know exactly what to write about or when to write it - and that is okay! The most important part of the process is to plant a seed and thereby grow a dream. Because, everything in this wild world (almost) starts with having a dream, that eventually can take root and grow into what you have imagined it to be. But here’s my advice for you on that: 1. Try different book ideas out. Write them down, work on them, pitch them, be open about them and start a dialogue with relevant people about them (ex publishers and so on) Because by trying different ideas out and going for them, will lead you in the right direction of what the right book idea will be for you. Because you gain experience by trying and therefore getting more awareness on what’s working and what’s not working. 2. See if you can sell the book idea to a publisher house and sign the contract based on the IDEA and not the whole script. Your time is precious and you better use it right. When you have a signed contract, you can start a dialogue with your publisher house which will help you out with the ‘when’ to write it. This is my opinion and what I’ve done with both of my books, but that doesn’t mean that’s the final and correct approach. What’s your approach on this? ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
This is a quote by filmmaker, Ken Burns, from an article on Forbes.com. The context of the quote is not the point I wish to make or describe in this post. But what I would love to put a few words on, is the truth of: the power of words. As written, or by listening to them in a conversation, in a play, in music or so on. Maya Angelou has also said something beautiful about the power of words and here it is (had to google it after I read this quote myself): “Words are things, I’m convinced,” she said. “You must be careful about the words you use or the words you allow to be used in your house.”“You must be careful. Care about calling people out of their names, using racial pejoratives and sexual pejoratives and all that ignorance,” she said. “Don’t do that.” Words, she felt, have to power to seep into everything around you. “I think they get on the walls, they get in your wallpaper, they get in your rugs and your upholstery and your clothes,” Dr. Angelou said. “And, finally, into you.”I’ll really recommend you to YouTube ‘The power of words - Maya Angelou.’ She describes it so beautifully in words. So, I guess my point here is: writing, singing, performing a play or presenting a show (any kind) does make a difference. So be careful about your words, but also: go inspire! Because words; can change minds. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
ON PERFECTIONISM. This this post I want to talk about perfectionism. Many of us have a tendency to never start, never publish or never even try to book the meeting with xxx as we dream of! Why? Because we don’t feel ready yet. We don’t feel like we know enough yet (at least that’s one of our excuses), or the timing is not so good at the moment (another excuse) or I’ll go apply for the job or try to book the meeting once I look a little bit more slim. Can you relate? Well. Being a perfectionist is a great thing, because it also means that you’re really putting an effort into the things that you’re into. But it can also, at the same time, be a very challenging thing to be a perfectionist and you know why? Because it’s almost impossible to do or create anything perfect and if that’s what you thrive for: wow, please don’t be so hard on yourself! Rather make mistakes along the way and learn from them (as Maya Angelou says: when you know better, you do better), than never even getting started. Because that will for sure block all of your dreams. Then rather start, when you feel like your product/body/website and so on looks almost exactly how you want it, and then make it even better along the way, as the time passes. In this way, you get started, you learn, you can apply your new knowledge to whatever you got started with and in that way: you become better. So why am I posting this exact picture? Let me tell you! Behind me there’s an ugly yellow and green plastic bag, laying all messy on the floor, because I came straight from the grocery store once I did this picture. So now I have two options: 1. Not to post it and get stuck, because I find it ugly 2. To post the picture and hopefully add value to some of you readers. And you know what? It feels great to keep going! So please: go, go, go! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / ww.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO HANDLE A PROBLEM. ... so don’t push the problem away or try to avoid it. Try to see it as your friend instead, who has a message for you, and try to listen and learn (or research until you know how to act accordingly/solve the problem/understand/learn) instead of seeing the problem as a negative thing or even as some sort of enemy. I see this like I see the thing about fear: don’t push it away, don’t avoid it, don’t be scared of it... instead: look it right in the eye and give it a wink! Whatever you try to run from in life (almost) will catch up on you sooner or later or keep ghosting you around. So try to make peace with the problem instead, it will satisfy your soul on a whole different level. And then be courageous and ask yourself open questions like: what are you here to teach me? How can I learn from this situation? What is the take away of newly learned wisdom that I can keep safe in my heart and add to future situations that will remind me/look like the current problem based situation I’m in right now? Asking yourself open questions, allowing yourself to search for the answers and to look at the problem straight - instead of closing your eyes towards what’s happening right now, will help you evolve and grow as a human being. So when a problem comes, please be nice to it, cause it tries to teach you something. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
THE SACRIFICES WE SOMETIMES HAVE TO MAKE IN ORDER TO REACH OUR DREAMS. So this evening I felt like writing a post about the lack of integrity and/or the sacrifices we sometimes have to make towards reaching our dreams in order to actually and eventually reach them. Do you know the feeling of: • saying yes to ugly work (maybe you work as a photographer and have to say yes to brands you find boring or ugly, in order to pay your bills so you also can get to shoot editorials or whatever you find beautiful and inspiring. Or even important) • or the feeling of having to dress/speak/perform a certain way in order to reach respect from clients/someone who you admire, until you have proven enough to not having to do all of those things anymore? Because your results speaks for themselves, so now you no longer need to fear if you’re too unexperienced, young or even if your gender might be ‘in the way’ in order for you to reach the job/position/dream you long for? I think this is perfectly normal and a process most of us have to go through, before reaching the level we wish to reach. During the years I have even heard people putting words such as ‘prostitution’ on it because it can feel like ‘selling your body/soul/talent’ for money, which might be against your values and/or integrity. But I guess my point with this post is: everything has a beginning. And you can’t have it all. Sometimes you have do some irritating/boring or so on things, in order to get to a place where you no longer need to do them. But of cause: don’t go too far and take good care of yourself along the way. But when that is said then: see if you can gain some acceptance on the fact, that most of us sometimes have to do some not so super cool things in order to reach a point where we’ll only get to do the super cool things. xx J P.S. I’ve had five interruptions during writing this post, I hope they won’t be reflected to much in it.** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true.@xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO BECOME A TELEVISION PRESENTER.So this morning I thought I wanted to share with you a ‘behind the scenes’ video from our television show production. In this little studio, we produced +400 shows, can you imagine? I know that some of you would like to know, how to become a television presenter. Well, let’s cover that in a short way: you have to be proactive. You can either: 1. Look for a job as a TV/online presenter on the internet 2. Go and do some networking with people from the industry 3. Send an email to the television station/company you would like to work for and explain them why you’re so necessary at their production. This is a job though, where a lot of the decision making on whether you should work there or not, happens during the casting while they observe you perform/present a script.Personally then I networked my way in to being invited to a casting for the job. So there’s many ways to do it, but one thing those ways have in common is: proactivity. Also: if you’re interested in reading more about ‘anchoring’ (= controlling your emotional state) before attending a fx meeting/casting/audition, then please read one of my latest post which is about ‘How to anchor feelings’. And if you have any questions or thoughts on this, then please comment below. ❤️ xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO SET AN INTENTION. Good morning everyone! Thought I wanted to share a beautiful poem with you guys and after that: 3 tips on how set an intention. But first, here’s the poem by Christen Rodgers: “Like seeds on the wind our intentions spread far and wide unfurling their power as they go. Until they find the environment balanced just right for our dreams to take root and begin to grow.” Here’s the 3 tips on how to set an intention: 1. Set aside some minutes to think 2. Jot down priorities and realistically personalize them 3. Check in on your progress and remain accountableHope this was beneficial for you and remember: intention + action = (could turn out as) magic. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true.@xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO HANDLE BEING NERVOUS BEFORE A PERFORMANCE. Okay, so the other day I got a message about what to do, if feeling nervous before a recording. A recording can be many different things: a podcast recording, video, production, online live courses/sessions or so on - so I thought that would be a great topic to bring up and cover for this evening. This is a picture from a shooting at Mallorca, some years ago, but I still remember the excitement that arises before shooting for big clients, and therefore I find the emotional reaction exactly the same; whether it’s a recording or a photoshoot, like here. After 15 years in front of a camera (in different fields) I’ve learned a thing or to about how to handle the emotions and not letting them destroy your performance. 1. Make peace with your feelings by accepting them 2. Know that all feelings rises and passes 3. Be prepared as good as you can4. Do your best 5. Show up and give it your all 6. Dive into it ASAP and kick ass, instead of holding yourself back or waiting for your body to relax naturally. Sometimes I really find that you have to: 7. Fake it until you make it Good luck! xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO HANDLE A ‘BEING OUT OF BREATH WHILE RECORDING A PODCAST EPISODE’ SITUATION. I know that feeling for sure! And especially because my new podcast is in English, which is not my main language! (For those of you who don’t know, then I’m from Denmark) Here’s a few tips on how to handle the being out of breath while recording a podcast episode situation: 1. Just stop talking when you need to breathe, and then continue. You can cut while editing your podcast episode 2. Learn how to control your breath. Practise how to breathe from down in your stomach instead of from your chest and up. Hope it makes sense 3. If you’re feeling like you’re loosing your breath during performing a sentence, then break the sentence up in shorter pieces and breathe whenever you need to 4. Be very aware of starting on a new word while during this, so you don’t stop in the middle of a word or you start to record in the second you begin on your word. In this way you will make it impossible for yourself to cut in the editing process and the end result won’t sound goodGood luck and enjoy! xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
ON THE POWER OF SHOWING UP. I just stumbled upon this quote by Marie Forleo on Twitter. And I find it beautiful. True. Wise. Brave... Courageous. Vulnerable. And that made me feel like going on google to find some even more beautiful words about the power of showing up. Here’s a few beautiful lines I found. I hope they will add some beauty and power to your heart and journey towards making your dreams come true, too: “The willingness to show up changes us, It makes us a little braver each time.” - Brené Brown “Life is about showing up, so is writing. That’s why I sit at my desk every day and dance my fingers across the keyboard” - Laurie B. “The formula for success is 2% talent, 8% luck, and 90% of showing up every day.” - Jeffrey F. ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
TIPS ON HOW TO SUCCEED WITH YOUR PODCAST IN 2020. Hi guys! It’s been a week since I posted last time, because I have been busy working on my other social media platforms. This picture is a screenshot of my statistics from my new podcast. I launched ‘Dream to reality’ podcast on my existing podcast platform on May 5th and 7 hours after (I didn’t check it again before bedtime) it had reached the #1 on iTunes in it’s category ‘How to’. This post is not for bragging, but for pointing out that I’ve changed a few things in the format this time, which obviously work and can might be helpful for you too in order to succeed with your podcast in 2020:1. The episodes are maximum 5 minutes long2. They’re really niched down to ‘how to’ (a category) in the fields I’m experienced inSo a key thing here is to be very specific about your want with the podcast. 3. I’ve prioritised good time to focus on my TAGS I didn’t give my podcast any attention today, which is being reflected in the statistical. And that only illustrates the importance of taking the right steps in order for your podcast to grow. ❤️ ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
THE MAGIC OF A SUPPORT SYSTEM.Today I want to talk about the importance of a support system. Have you ever tried• to be in a healthy relationship, and during that time you felt like you could reach your dreams a tiny bit more? • that a family member was there for you during a difficult time, and therefore you got quicker and even stronger back up on your feet? • that a girlfriend of yours kept supporting you during a time filled with stress and confusion, and therefore helped you to calm down and reach clarity sooner than later? Then you’ve also experienced the magic of a support system. My experience is, that we’re able to accomplish so much more as human beings, when we have people around us who love and support us during great or less greater times in our life. Sometimes one person, can help us do the whole difference. Because a support system is all about quality (authentic love and support) than quantity (having a bigger group of surface friends). This is a picture of me and my mom, and she is for sure one of the primary people in my life. Apropos support, then this picture is taken for my first book and I put it in the end of the book beside the page where I gave thanks to the people supporting me during the writing process. We can all be better through love and support. xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
GET TO KNOW YOURSELF BETTER VIA YOUR DREAMS. So tonight I just want to inspire you with something that could might be helpful on your journey towards discovering what you dream of achieving in your life. And that is: dream interpretation. You see, the beautiful thing about dreams is that they have their own global language. And by that I mean: when you dream, then you dream in pictures, colours or even in numbers and these things are metaphors for feelings/meanings of different things. Ex: if you tend to dream of water, then the global language/metaphor for water is: feelings. So there you got a clue on what’s going on inside of your mind/in your thoughts. Also: ask and you shall receive and by this I mean: ask yourself some questions you wish to have answered before going to bed and there will be a chance that the answers arises during the night in a dream. So: if you’re unsure of what you’re dreaming about (in real life) or what to do/how to handle a current project/event in your life, then go seek answers in your dreams. You can become smarter on dreams in many different ways but here’s tree easy ones: 1. Google your dream (ex snake) on google like this: ‘snake dream interpretation’ and you’ll see what pops up and understand your dream/yourself better during learning about this topic 2. Buy an ebook on dreams/a hardcover book and carry it around. Most books about dreams have a ‘dream dictionary/library’ with lots of different metaphors and their meanings3. Go do some research on if you can find any great podcast on dreamsGo and get smarter and wiser on yourself through understanding your late night dreams in a way that you become wiser and reach more clarity on your day dreams / life dreams. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO BECOME SPECIFIC IN OUR WANTS.''When you start saying what you really want, your mind automatically shifts to pull you in that direction. Give your vocabulary a positive makeover to speak your dreams into existence.''For those of you who have followed me for a while and who have read my posts with consistency, then you’ll know that I’m a big believer in the power of words - and therefore also a big believer of this quote. But sometimes, it can be difficult to narrow down what we really want (because there’s so many great opportunities out there) and therefore we get confused and loose direction along our way. If you know this feeling, then I have a really simple tool which is super effective and great in helping us become specific in our wants. Here it comes: 1. Write down all the different things you want 2. Organise them in a prioritised order 3. Agree with yourself to only choose 10 of them in total 4. Then agree with yourself to only choose five 5. When you have your five wants on your list then do this: focus on one want at the time and compare it to each other want and ask yourself ‘which one do I want to keep on my list the most?’ 6. Continue to do this with all of your wants7. Until you have only one or two wants left8. Now focus on them, and by a constant awareness apply them in your vocabulary on a daily basis. 9. Also do some visualisations to make yourself believe in your own words and wants even more 10. Wait and see. I’m convinced that you eventually will start to speak your dreams into existenceOnce you’ve made a active decision on turning your want into a dream coming true, then your mind and your heart will help you find a way. Good luck! xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
''How to step into your side hustle unafraid and with confidence.''I guess half of this quote is not possible. I just read it on twitter, and it belongs to an article on Success.com. Well, the first thing that came to my mind is: everything which is important to you is one way or the other related to fear. Because of the emotional attachment to it. I know that some says (I think it’s in Buddhism?) that it’s actually possible and for the better to practise not being emotional attached to anything, but I don’t agree on that. I find that being emotional attached is part of being human. What makes everything worth it. So, my point here is: try to build some sort of friendship with your fear instead, and see it as a helper that tells you something is important for you once it arises. The second thing I thought was: the thing about confidence! Well, I find that confidence is something that you build over time, by getting yourself started - and watching/experiencing yourself getting the results wanted! Sometimes you can even build confidence just on trying. But the one thing that doesn’t build any confidence is: being too fearful to even start. Or too much of a perfectionist or whatever word you use to cover up for the fear. So please, you might as well reframe your relationship with fear (if it’s a fearful one!) and get yourself started, in order to even consider stepping into your side hustle. Good luck! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
AN INSIGHT ON: AUDIOBOOKS. This evening I want to give you an insight: if you dream of becoming an author but has difficulties • signing with a publisher house • booking a meeting with a publisher house • getting started on the ‘getting signed with a publisher house’ process because of the amount of work you think you have to put into it • going for your dream because of the fear of rejection Then this is for you! Every 3 month I receive a statement on my book sale from my publisher house. And I can tell you this: audiobooks is thriving! Personally then I published by latest book as a hardcover, ebook and audiobook. My point here is: it is the easiest thing in the world to record an audiobook (unless you’re super pregnant like I was, swipe for picture). The process of doing that is almost only 1. Book a studio2. Press play, pause and stop 3. Save your recording I had a company that edited mine together, but I’m sure you can do it yourself too. Being signed with a publisher house has a lot of good things about it when it comes to: getting your book in the shops (physical and online), on trade fairs, they have graphic designers to do the layout of your book and so on. BUT if you have a great audience yourself, can do some magic with the visual layout and hire someone to correct your gramma, then you’ll be fine. At least: think about it. Maybe push away the dream of publishing a hardcover book (for a while) and go for the audiobook instead. ❤️ xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO TURN YOUR ROLE MODELS QUALITIES INTO YOUR BUSINESS QUALITIES. So I thought I wanted to share this picture with you guys. This is not me in the picture, but there’s a good reason for me to share it (I think) and that’s because this one picture helped me to start my whole journey as a podcaster. As some of you have read in my former posts, then I went from 0 to 8.000 downloads within 24 hours and reached the number #1 on iTunes podcast hit list as the most popular podcast show and as the most popular episode - in my country, at the time! And it stayed like this for almost three weeks. So how did I achieve that? Well, I would love to share with you the exact steps on how I did that in a future post (because actually it was really simple and a tree step method. It’s true, I promise you, even though it seems too good to be true, I know...) Because in this post I’ll like to share another point with you which is: go and find your role models and then do this:1. Copy what you like that they’re doing 2. Turn it into your own thing/style/words and so on 3. Continue to do number 1 and 2 I also did that with my podcast, even in the details! My introduction was almost the same as my own favourite podcast show, I build my structure (format) in the same way, I added the same colours in my podcast front cover picture/logo and so on. It’s so okay to copy, as long as you turn it into your own thing/style etc. afterwords. So please, go for it and take some time today to: do some research on who your role models are? Who makes you feel so inspired and who makes you feel so uplifted? “Your effort matters. Your dedication counts. It is all making a difference - even though you may not be able to see it quite yet.”OMG, this is so important! It’s such wise words and I just love it! I think most often (or maybe I can only talk for myself) it can be so challenging to stay consistent with something (unless it’s a heart project or something you have tons of passion, time or money for) because it is pretty tuff sometimes, to continue to try making your dreams/dream come true, if you don’t receive any or even a bit of results/acknowledgement along the way. You might know the feeling and experience of: starting a blog, an Instagram account, a YouTube channel, a newsletter or so on - and no one really reply or should we say: you experience not really any response. And in times of no response it can be challenging to continue and stay consistent along the way because you might feel: 1. No one responses anyway, so it might as well be a waste of my time or 2. I feel so embarrassed an fearful, maybe everyone thinks my content really sucks 3. I’m a complete looser and I have no idea how to get leads/downloads/views/readers/subscribers and so many others are successful in this field - so why even try.Well, stop yourself right there. I’ll really encourage you to find some people who you trust, or a group of people who you want to reach (a target group) buy them cake, make them tea and ask them to comment on all of your content (I know this can be scary) But who knows, you might as well find out people love what you do, but it only will be a question of time and therefore consistency for them (your dream audience) to open their eyes towards your journey/product/brand etc. So the point I’m trying to make here is: please follow your gut feeling, but also be smart about it. Seek critique (= how to become better), then adjust and then continue. As I said in the former post today, then you’ll never know who you inspire. So everything you’re putting in to your dream project/destination is not a waste of time. Just hang in there. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
ON BRANDING. Hi everyone, so this evening I thought about sharing these exact thoughts with you on branding. Do you know the feeling of: • Trying to find out what works for your brand?• Not being too happy about your current branding? • Really wanting to do better on branding, because you dream of growing your audience? Then: you’re totally not alone and I’ve just been through the exact same thing! Here’s a few things I did wrong: 1. I didn’t do any research on my visual identity. Instead I just started posting randomly pictures on my IG 2. I didn’t spend enough time researching on other people in my field, who’s doing what I dream of doing too3. I was not aware of where my audience is? So I just kept posting hoping for them to find ME 4. I posted a lot, but I didn’t have any vision or formula/strategy on my posting 5. I didn’t do enough research on all the great apps that exist to help create a more professional look and therefore attract potential buyers of your product/brand = grow your audience To mention a few of them! I’m all about getting started before you’re ready, but by making all the mistakes I did you will hurt growing your audience by confusing them. Or by posting way too much, way too often! Without being targeted.Do not work harder, but: do work smarter. ❤️ and remember to learn along the way. If you’re curious about getting to know the exact tools/steps on how to apply what I learned into your branding, then please don’t hesitate to: ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO ANCHOR FEELINGS. Today I want to talk about anchoring! Anchoring comes from NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) and is the greatest tool right before or during performing something! So weather you have a job interview, attend a casting or have to present something for someone, then this is for you! When I wanted to make sure that I spell ‘anchoring’ correct I googled it and at the same time a description about anchoring popped up. Here’s what it says: “Anchoring is a useful NLP technique for inducing a certain frame of mind or emotion, such as happiness or relaxation. It usually involves a touch, gesture or word as an "anchor", like a bookmark for a desired emotion, and recall it again later using that same anchor.” I don’t think I can put it anymore correct than that. Here’s what you can do, for practising how to fx calm down before or during a current event: 1. Practise meditation 2. Add the feeing of being calm to a point on your body through your thoughts 3. I tend to use the pointy finger and my thumb - put together 4. Do this over and over again 5. Now you have made a NLP link from the feeling of being relaxed down into your finger position 6. Before or during an event where you wish to feel more relaxed or calm down yourself then: put those two fingers together and you’ll notice your emotional state to change ASAP. Good luck! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
Hi guys! So I promised to share with you how to start a podcast, so that’s what I’ll focus on doing right now. By the way then: if you’re also interested in learning how to memorise a script, then please go to my IG TV section and find a video about that. But here’s my tips: 1. Buy the right things to get started and it doesn’t have to be expensive! I bought two microphones, two microphones pop filters and a pair of headset, an USB cable + an hard drive to get started and that works perfectly fine. I think I spend about 200 dollars on everything in total. I’ll recommend you to buy a: M-AUDIO UBER MIC (you don’t necessarily have to buy two, one is fine and can also be used for interviews) The headset was only for myself to hear the sound perfectly clear (to check if it was okay) but you can use your iPhone headset for that too. 2. Choose a platform to host your podcast. I’ll recommend you to choose Spreaker.com and just start with the free package. Later on you can upgrade accordingly to your needs. 3. Go on google or YouTube to read/watch how to connect your podcast from Spreaker to iTunes. It’s very simple. 4. Choose a podcast name. Choose a simple one that describes your intention with the podcast. Fx mine was ‘young love’ (in danish) and the podcast was about young love. Simple. 5. I’ll recommend you the free program on your computer/you can download ‘GarageBand’. It works perfectly fine to edit and cut your podcast. 6. Find a website where you can BUY your soundtrack music, so that it’s yours to use! 7. Get started! Hope this was useful for you. Good luck! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
ON THE FEAR OF GOING FOR IT. So lately I’ve received some messages on: ‘I really want to get started and to put my brand out there, but I don’t know when I feel comfortable enough to do that. I do not feel comfortable enough to put everything out there now!’ Do you know the feeling of: • Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to put into your dream, before you feel comfortable enough to put it all out there? • Not knowing enough (or at least that is what YOU think) in order to get out there and start working on your dream? • Being too fearful of putting it all out there? Then you’re not alone! I’m convinced this is some really normal feelings and experiences to go through while dreaming or even working on your dreams to come true. But let me tell you this: the secret is to start before you’re ready and then learn, adjust and apply along the way. Because when you know better, then you do better! If: you’re smart enough to learn and adopt from your mistakes. Which I’m sure you are. ❤️And also: if you wait till you’re ready, then you might have to wait for forever. Because: when exactly are you ready? What have to happen in order for you to feel ready? How much do you need to know? How experienced do you have to be in your field? And so on. Please just go and start now because I tell you: I’m sure that the struggle of suppressing your dreams, is so much more painful now and long term - than feeling the fear and doing it (going for it!) anyway. ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO CREATE TRUST/RAPPORT BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR COACHING CLIENTS. This is another picture of my former office (studio, as I called it) for my coaching business, once I worked as a performance coach for some years. Of cause this was in the end of my coaching carrier and I felt so proud of welcoming my clients here! What you see on this picture, is the corner of the studio where I used to make coffee and small talk with my clients before starting the session! Because in order to develop and in order to move anything within us, we need to feel safe and comfortable. We need to feel like our shoulders relax and that we trust the situation and the person in front of us. Trust is such a fundamental thing when working with clients in the coaching field. Today I thought I wanted to share some tips with you on how to create that (almost instant) trust between you and your clients. This is fundamental in order for you to work with them more than once and to succeed as a coach long term. Here’s a few tips on how to build trust: 1. Create rapport by mirroring your clients mood/vibe/body language. We as human beings feel more comfortable when we vibe on the same level 2. Lead the conversation by stepping in to your authority as the coach. It’s your responsibility to ask the right questions and lead the way. 3. Create eye contact, but look away when asking your clients deep questions in order to give them space 4. Use your body language. If your client has a closed body language, then see if you can open up their fx arms by reaching them a pen/paper/cup of coffee. 5. Keep your promises, be on time, don’t cancel your meetings and so on. Go for it. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO EXPAND YOUR NETWORK OF POTENTIAL NEW COACHING CLIENTS. This is a picture of my first office (which was my own and that I didn’t have to share with anyone else) and I literally had the greatest time there. In the time period from 2013-2015 I had done more than 2.000 coaching sessions and how was that possible, starting as a complete newbie in the coaching field? Let me tell you: it had everything to do with a LinkedIn strategy! Today I have around 10.000 followers on LinkedIn which is primarily build from back then, when I used the strategy to book meetings with new potential clients and do some sale (the sale mainly happened afterwards on email). So here’s some tips on how to build a network of potential new coaching clients, book the meeting and then afterwards do the sale: 1. Add people on LinkedIn who’s already working in the field you’re an expert in (fx if you’re an performance coach, then only add people from performance fields) 2. When they confirm your friend request then send them a message where you (very short) tell them who you are, what you’re offering and if possible then offer them a free coaching session so they can try it out for themselves and experience if it is for them and if you as the coach and them as the client is the right fit. 3. After finishing the session with them you present a future plan for the upcoming next 3 sessions 4. You give them some discount on buying more than 1 session at the time. Try it out for yourself. In this way you’re expanding your network of potential new clients by being proactive. Remember this, and this goes in almost any field: more followers, means more potential customers which means more potential sale. Becoming a busy coach is in my opinion a combination of being great at what you do, providing value of cause, being proactive and brave - but in my option then it’s also a bit of a numbers game. At least in the beginning, for you to get it all started and happening. Good luck! xx** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO ACT NATURAL IN FRONT OF A CAMERA. If you’re doing YouTube, online courses, IG TV videos or work as presenting something (an online show/television show or so on) then this post is for you. The last couple of days I’ve received some messages from some of you on how to act natural in front of a camera. A few days ago I uploaded another post similar to this one about ‘how to be more comfortable showing up on video’. But the tips in this post will be slightly different. So here they come, there’s 4 tips in total: 1. Imagine that the lens of the camera is someone you know. So wether you want to recall a sexy/chilled/funny/relaxed or so on attitude/vibe/face expression/look in the eye, then think of the person who makes you feel xxx and imagine them to be the lens of the camera. 2. Practise in front of a camera tons of times, just for yourself. Practise makes master. 3. Look a bit above the lens of the camera if it makes you feel too uncomfortable. We’re talking millimetres here!! 4. Zone out by focusing on what you’re there to do: explain something/make a point/deliver a message or so on. I hope these tips will benefit you and help you to act and feel more natural in front of a camera. Good luck! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
So this evening I received an IG message with these words: ‘I just want to be more comfortable showing up on video’ - can you relate? So of cause we’re going to cover this subject. ❤️ Personally then I’ve worked as an international model for the past 15 years. Also I’ve coached hundreds of women in model competitions on how to perform in front of a camera (or on stage) and then I’ve worked as a television presenter as well for two years, where I presented around 400 television shows (So I guess I know a thing or two about this theme). So here’s what I learned, I hope it will be beneficial for you too and add extra confidence, light and sparkle to your journey:1. Know your angles. Yes I know this is a bit fun and very ‘me, me, me’ ish if you know what I mean, but it does help you feel more comfortable in front of a camera. Just think of Paris Hilton, most of the pictures with her looks the same because of her face position is the same. 2. Look your best. When you have made an effort on looking your best, then it will for sure have an effect or two on your outer performance as well (because you feel more comfortable on the inside) 3. Practise. Practise makes master. Go perform in the mirror or do a 100 recordings with yourself and then delete them. Just as practise with much of room for making mistakes. In this way you will (eventually) feel more comfortable in front of a camera/on video, because it’s more natural to you now when you have practised and it doesn’t feel as odd. 4. Have a healthy lifestyle (eat healthy, drink your water, don’t have an hangover, get some sleep) I know this is a very general good thing, but I promise you that when your body and mind is healthy and in balance, then it will have an effect on your outer appearance and on your inner: balance reduces anxiety or other feelings that makes you feel uncomfortable. 5. Have fun and know that you don’t have to do a one take so it doesn’t have to be perfect! You can cut in between recordings if you want to. Go watch my IG TV video about how to memorise a script. 6. Watch your videos and learn from them! Enjoy. xx** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO GROW YOUR AUDIENCE FASTER AND USE YOUR TIME SMARTER/MORE WISELY. So tonight I want to share with you how to get downloads/followers/grow your audience (readers, viewers or so on) faster! And at the same time: optimise your effort on doing this in a smart way. Because I tell you, this is all about strategy and on how to use your time wisely. So let’s go: when I do my podcast, then I always make sure to do these 3 things: 1. Use more social platforms! Personally then I’m on: YouTube, Instagram, I’m hosted as a blogger, LinkedIn, Facebook and then on my podcast platform. This means = every time I create a podcast episode then I’ll post it on all social media platforms in order to expand the traction BUT in different ways. Let me tell you: 2. Fx I’ll edit some of my podcast episode combined with a picture and upload it on all of my other platforms and copy paste a small section of the text from it that describes the theme/point/vision/mission with the podcast episode as a ‘teaser text’. Or I’ll copy paste the whole thing in as a blogpost. Or I’ll record myself while making the podcast and upload it as a vodcast on all of my platforms, with a customised description that fits each platforms identity. In this way you can expand 1 product in many great ways, without having to do anymore work. You’ll make sure to brand yourself as much as you can and get your podcast episode (or whatever it may be) discovered by new potential followers/clients/customers. It’s all about thinking in the strategy of expanding your 1 product, customising it each social platform and create a way to automate it. My 3 tip is to make collaborations! Make other relevant people promote for your xxx on their social media platforms. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can make them do that, then please comment below and I’ll dig into that too in another post. Enjoy! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
ON FEAR. So I just had this great question in my inbox: “How to overcome fear?” Basically that was not the exact words on it, but that pretty much sums the whole point up. So whether you feel scared or very (too!) uncomfortable about something fx sharing pictures of yourself on Instagram, because you dream of promoting your brand and know it might be necessary, or maybe you really want to write a book but hold yourself back because you’re afraid of the potential ‘no’ from the publisher house. Then we’re talking about the same and underlying feeling here - or state of mind: fear. So how to overcome it? Well, I got some tips for you. In this video I’m terrified. I was shaking while doing all of the red carpet interviews; there were cameras everywhere and thousands of young people screaming and yelling everywhere! I had my own television crew with me (behind me, which is why you can’t see them in this video) and I was so scared if they would be able to tell that I felt how I did. Because I wanted to remain professional and continue to seem that way too! Here’s four big lessons I’ve learned during times of fear: 1. You have to feel the fear, and do it anyway 2. Fear doesn’t go away until you face it. Actually you make it worse by avoiding it 3. It means you feel strongly about something - lucky you! You’re a human being with emotions, so remember that fear is a sign of: something is very important to you. So my last tip is: 4. Let fear guide you. By that I mean: when fear arises, know yourself well enough to know, that you’re on some sort of track which is aligned with your dreams (which is why you feel so strongly about it) and that is a beautiful thing and a thing to envy itself. So my big advise to you is: stay on track, even though you feel fear related feelings towards whatever makes you feel scared, and then feel the fear and do it anyway. You’ll be so proud of yourself afterwards and gain even more strength for the next time to come, because you made it through anyway and know that you’re capable of doing that again another time. ❤️ xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO PREPARE YOURSELF BEFORE A PERFORMANCE.1, 2, 3 go! How to prepare yourself before a performance? This picture is taken on my first day at the television station, in the studio - a few minutes before having my debut as a television presenter. Whatever field you work in, then I’m convinced that you know the feeling of ‘the few minutes before’ a meeting/session/show/performance and so on.In my experience, then you have to have a few things straight (mindset wise and physical) in order to make a great performance. And in order to get those things straight, then you need a bit of preparation. Here’s what I learned works the best: 1. Visualisation is a really great tool. Before attending the meeting/session/performance, then visualise it from start to end. How do you want to feel? Behave? How do you want to enter and leave the room? 2. Body language: before entering xxx, then make sure you have empowered and opened yourself up using body language. So instead of sitting down, with your arms crossed while looking at your phone (the few minutes before you have to do your ‘performance’) - then stand up, get your body moving, keep your neck straight, your face looking a bit up and with your arms above the head. This is named a ‘power position’ for a reason. 3. Keep your mind and body healthy by eating properly, get your 8 hours of sleep, drink water, find peace in meditation and so on. Your general state of wellbeing will have an influence on the quality of your performance sooner or later. 4. Listen to music, or in some other way: get your vibe straight. Music is a great tool for this. I hope this was beneficial for you! Go nail it. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
WHAT TO DO WHEN FEELING STUCKED WHILE CREATING CONTENT. So today I want to share some thoughts with you on how to move forward (in a productive and great way) even though you feel stuck during creating content. Do you know the feeling of: • Having no idea about what content to create for the day??? • Getting stuck halfway through your process of creating some content. Everything went so well and you felt completely in flow, but all of a sudden something happens and you feel like your heart and mind is closing off for ideas, creativity or even a good language to write or speak in - or maybe it’s your thoughts getting all cloudy and you can think of nothing but: damn it! I don’t have time for this! I have a deadline in a few hours! Maybe you keep forcing yourself to continue even though it doesn’t feel natural or smooth at all. And you can tell from your end/final results that your lack of being sharp in your mind/creative/on point or something else is lacking. You know you can do better, but for whatever reason your body and mind is working against you. So, what to do? Well, I had this experience myself today while I wanted to create a post for you guys and I know that feeling/experience so so well. Mainly from the times of writing a book or from the times of working on a podcast interview or a television show (as creating it.) Here’s what I learned, I hope it will benefit you too: remove yourself from the situation - now. Both physically and mentally. Go for a walk (get your body moving) and/or call a friend, listen to music, go have fun with your dog. You can’t force yourself out of the feeling of being stuck. Remember this: everything rises and passes. Also feelings. So your feeling of being stuck won’t last forever. It’s only temporary. You might as well enjoy your time waiting for your sharpness/talent/creativity or so on to come back. xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO WRITE A SCRIPT FOR A PODCAST INTERVIEW, A VIDEO OR EVEN HOW TO BUILD UP A CHAPTER IN A BOOK THAT TEACHES SOMETHING. The weather in Copenhagen was so beautiful today while I wrote the script to my first IG TV video which is all about ‘How to get downloads on your podcast’ even though I can tell I made a mistake in the video, by forgetting to add a small part of the video - in the video, while I edited it, for it all to make perfectly sense. Anyway, I’m sure you’ll get the point. ❤️ In this post i want to share with you how to write a script for a podcast interview, a video or even how to build up a chapter in a book that teaches something. Let me share with you a very simple way to think of it: what, why and how! If you build it up like that, then you’re definitely not setting your self up to fail in any way because you’ll make sure to cover everything you need! So next time you want to create some sort of text for a project or while you’re working on your dream to make it come true (whatever it may be) then don’t forget to add the: • What • Why • How... structure to your mindset while creating it. Good luck! xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO PITCH YOUR BOOK IDEA TO A PUBLISHER HOUSE. Lately I’ve received a few messages on ‘how to write a book’ or on the want/dream of writing a book. I guess that those who dream of writing a book also dreams of having it published. So that’s what we’ll focus on today. Thought I wanted to share a different yet powerful and memorable approach on how to pitch your book idea to a publisher house - and make them want you as their household author! So here it comes: create a video based show on your book idea. Here’s how I did it with my latest book: 1. Download/buy Final Cut Pro 2. Write a synopsis beforehand on your book idea 3. Find some inspiration pictures that reflects how you want it to look/vibe/maybe pictures of the kind of readers/audience you want for your book 4. Choose a soundtrack that vibes with the identity/theme of your book 5. Record yourself telling about the book/presenting it 6. Upload everything to Final Cut Pro 7. Cut/edit it all together 8. Make sure for it to be maximum 10 minutes 9. Make the effort and spend the time on doing it, I know this is rewarded 10. You’ll also show other personal assets by doing this fx: creativity, being great at research and so on. + please add how you’ll do the PR for the book/the marketing/statistics on the theme/readers/audience and so on. Today publisher houses loves numbers (even more than the book idea itself, sometimes) and some of the publisher houses is even former advertising agencies. That’s just the time we live in today. So if you’re serious about getting your book idea published, then you better keep up on the trends/tendencies. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
WHAT TO DO IN THE VERY BEGINNING OF A BOOK IDEA. So today I felt like sharing a post which is a ‘behind the scenes’ picture of writing my second book. So this is how it all started! I was sitting one day in my former apartment and got the idea of writing a book for young women about young love. So I went through my whole bookshelf and collected all the books I had at the time about love. And then I started my research! Because I wanted my own book to be 1/3 about the science of love, coaching tools and story telling. If you’re sitting out there with a book idea, then I’ll recommend you to do these tree things at the very beginning: 1. Do a lot of research on the topic 2. Write down all the themes you want to apply in your book 3. Put the themes in order, in that way you’ve already started to create the framework of your book. It’s all about structure! When you have organised every step to take along the way in your process of creating and writing a book, then it’s so much easier to let loose, trust and know that your creative process is going in the right direction. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
Hi guys! Today I felt like sharing with you, some tips on how to prepare yourself in the best way possible before attending a meeting with a publisher house. I’ve been at at least 30 meetings during the last five years, because I’ve had many book ideas and because I’ve had a lot of ‘no’s’ and rejections along the way. And that process of trying to get my book ideas published taught me a lot! So here’s some tips for you, on how to prepare yourself in the best possible way before attending a meeting with a publisher house: 1. Today a lot is about numbers and statistics! Almost more about that, than your creative book idea and what your book is going to be all about 2. So make sure to have reflected upon: how you want to make PR for your book? On which social media platforms you want to promote your book? Try to build a strong foundation of followers on either your Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest or so on 3. Research on the audience you want to publish the book for! How many of them excist? How is your theme relevant for them right now, at this time? 4. Also do some research on your theme fx: if your book is for young women and your goal with the book is to upgrade their mental health, then make sure to do your research on young women and their mental health. In this way you’ll have a lot of numbers and statistics that will prove why your book idea is relevant, why it’s needed on the market and why it’s important for it to be published, right now! No one can argue with numbers or statistics - I mean: facts. A lot of creative people never get through with their projects, because their trying to sell their idea/project/book idea based on their thoughts, feelings and creativity (which is beautiful) but it’s also subjective. Cold facts is objective, and everyone has no other chance than having to understand the point you’re trying to make based on the research you’ve done. In this way, you’ll stand in a stronger position during your meeting with a publisher house. Good luck. ❤️ xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
Hi guys! Today I thought I wanted to share some tips on how to remember a script before presenting it. Whether you work as a television presenter, YouTuber, or you run online courses (or something completely else) then this will be useful for you. A few years ago when I used to work as a television presenter, then we didn’t have any teleprompter in the studio, so I always had to remember the script in my head. And let me tell you this: it was a daily show, and it was all about presenting the latest international and national gossip news, so I never had more than 5-10 minutes to practise. So here’s what I learned, I hope it will benefit you and your dream, whatever it may be: 1. Just remember one sentence at the time, and make all the effort in the way you present it (voice and body language)2. Just cut - it doesn’t have to be a one take, no one is super humans and no one can remember a full script in their head 3. You can also try to remember the top tree most important points to make and then freestyle your way through your recording - but: there’s something very exact and professional about being very detail oriented and strict in the way you present something, and therefore I’ll recommend you to do number 1 tip until you have enough experience to do number 3 tip in a professional way. I know this for sure helped me a lot, and it also helped me relax about not having to do the whole thing perfect. Once you cut during a recording, then there’s room for making mistakes and having fun too. And that’s important. Don’t be so hard on yourself, the most important thing is: get started and do your very best. Until you know better, then do better. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR VOICE BEFORE A PERFORMANCE. Today I want to cover how to prepare your voice before a performance. It could be a performance such as recording a video, a podcast episode or before presenting something to someone (online live-streams, live coaching sessions - you name it!) I’ve found that one of the tools that helps me a lot is the following: go listen to someone who speaks in the way, you would like to perform too! So if you’re going to speak in another language then: go find someone on YouTube or on a podcast, who speaks that specific language and listen to them speak for at least 10 minutes. Another important thing is to be so aware of the WAY they speak, because your brain adobts even more than you think. The way I realised that, was by listening to someone speak in a very boring way and then a few minutes later, when I turned on my microphone to record a podcast episode, then I found myself speak in the exact same way. We’re copycats and so sensitive to sounds, impressions and so on, us humans, which is why it’s so important to choose WHO you listen to speak very wisely. Because you’ll adopt even more than you think from them. So find someone who speaks in a way, that you would like to succeed in too. Also: warm up your voice by speaking with someone before performing something. It doesn’t have to be difficult, keep it simple and fx call a friend or someone from your family and talk with them. After some minutes of doing that, you’re ready to go, go! Enjoy. ❤️ xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
Hi guys!So today I thought I wanted to share with you how to get downloads on your podcast! As some of you know, because you have read some of my former posts in here, then my podcast went from 0 to 8000 downloads within 24 hours and reached the #1 on iTunes hit list as the most popular podcast show and as the most popular podcast episode in my country, at the time! Today I have more than 65.000 downloads and I haven’t even been so consistent with my podcasting during the last two years. But when I am working on my podcast, then new listeners and downloads tends to start happening, right away! So how do I manage to make that happen? I’ll tell you, because I do have a strategy that I apply and if you apply that strategy too, then I’m sure you’ll start seeing results to happen: 1. My podcast is most often interview based. So contact some profiles, who’s already well known on social media (YouTube or Instagram) 2. Invite them to join your podcast and pick a theme they would love to either promote or to me associated with 3. Ask them to ask their audience for what questions they’re interested in having answered 4. Make them (and yourself!) promote for the episode to come via Instagram story or YouTube videos 5. Customise their interview to the: theme and the questions being asked 6. Create great content which is relevant for your and your guests audience - add value to them 7. Upload your podcast and use some powerful hashtags while uploading it 8. Make your guests promote it on their Instagram account by encouraging their audience to ‘swipe up’. 9. Book new profiles and make them promote for the former episode by telling their audience ‘next time I’ll be guesting this podcast’. In that way you’ll keep creating traction to your podcast and therefore creating even more downloads. xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO BOOK A MEETING ON EMAIL/WHAT TO WRITE.This evening I want to encourage you guys to go googling a bit! On Simon Sinek and his book ‘Start with why.’ I read it years ago after I had seen his TED talk about the same topic as well. I don’t remember exactly how he put it, but something has sticked within my mind because I’ve used this way to book meetings on email ever since. Meetings with everything from: publisher houses, television stations/companies and with companies in general. I think most of us tend to start with ‘what’, then ‘why’ and then in the end of an email leaving a few lines on that you want to explain ‘how’ in details when meeting up. And this is a big mistake. Instead: use the ‘urgency’ of starting with ‘why’. Fx when I booked my publisher meeting on my second book (and on my first book too, actually) then I booked them because I was very specific on my WHY. I mentioned why it was relevant to be published now, why the audience needed it now and why I was the perfect candidate/author to write it. IF they rejected me, then I went further and did some research on statistics. Then I send them a new email with facts and statistics that described, why it would be stupid of them business wise not to prioritise meeting up with me for at least 15-30 minutes. And I can tell you - this method works! Because no one wants to make stupid decisions, so make sure to describe WHY whatever you want to pitch/book a meeting on is absolutely needed.Hope this can be helpful for you on your journey towards achieving your dreams. xx J ** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
HOW TO SELL A TELEVISION SHOW IDEA TO A TELEVISION STATION/COMPANY.Hi everyone, today I thought I wanted to share some tips with you guys on how to sell a television show idea to a television station/company. If you’re curious on how to create one, from start to end, then please write a comment below and I’ll make a post on that too. So what I did was to: 1. Be proactive; go on LinkedIn and find a few relevant people who works in a television company in the section you want to sell your idea: fx for children, young people, families, adults or elderly people. 2. Write a few lines on why they should prioritise 15-30 minutes of meeting up with you. 3. Sometimes it’s a question of a ‘numbers game’ regards to getting a ‘yes’ and booking a meeting. But please be patient and wait for their reply at least for 3 days before reaching out to more people who works in the field. 4. Make sure that you’re idea is relevant to the time we live in and also suggest when to show it. Fx my television show idea was about children who starts at modelling and we send it at the/during Copenhagen fashion week. At the moment in time self esteem, body images and so on was hot topics (even for children in the age 12-14 years old) 5. Be aware of your intention and your want. Fx my intention was to write myself into the show because my want was the television station to see my potential as a future children television presenter. 6. If that’s the case for you too, then reflect upon this: why are you relevant? (Fx in my case I worked as a model myself, so it made sense for me to attend the show as well as some sort of ‘expert’) What’s interesting in your story that you can mix up with current trends, hot topics and so on. If you have any further questions on this, then please don’t hesitate to text me. Good luck! xx J** DM/EMAIL me if you need help with making your dreams come true. @xxjasminsoe / www.xxjasminsoe.com
