Sho, Genge! Welcome back to another episode of ASIAS, with your girl, Sis G.U First and foremost, compliments of the new year to the Genge. May God bless your year in ways that you cannot imagine. May everything you invest your time into, bring forth results of success and prosperity. In this episode, I am joined by my sound engineer & music producer, VINO. The idea, or theory of 'Closing the Door' can mean a plethora of things, depending on where your life is and what you want to change. For me, it really is centered around embracing this new chapter of life that I've stepped into. I reflect, very candidly about my experiences in 2024 and the lessons I've learned. What makes this episode really special, is that there was no preconceived idea of how the conversation will go. It was a much needed conversation in which there are gems shared from myself and VINO, which I am sure that the Genge can incorporate into 2025. Allow yourself to step into the new year with a free spirit, letting go of the baggage of the previous year. In order to receive new blessings, you need to first make space. Get rid of what's hindering you. Be honest with yourself on what you want to change and pray to God, to anoint your journey. This year is all about being the best you that you can be!

It's closing time here at The Moon Under Water, but just before we lock those double doors there's time for one last look at the Pub Notice Board. And this isn't just any regular Notice Board, for the boys have gathered in one of their favourite haunts, The Shortlands Tavern, to sup pints, read out your correspondence, and reminisce to their heart's content. For the final time Robbie and Dan review their recent pubbing, and both lay a metaphorical wreath on the head of their favourite pub of the year. They also take a look back at some of the great guests that have stepped inside The Moon Under Water, they salute our loyal local correspondents, and we get a breakdown of the drinks chosen across the show. This may be goodbye from everyone at The Moon Under Water, but remember that the whole back catalogue lives on in the mystical (and physical) realm, meaning you can dip back in whenever you so desire. Thank you for joining us in The Moon Under Water over the years, your patronage has always been much appreciated in these parts. Now finish your pint and get out so we can close up, these tables aren't going to clean themselves. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Give your thoughts via our podcast survey This month we've heard two updates on the 'Closing the Gap' initiative, aimed at improving the lives of First Nations people to be more in line with other Australians. But it's not good news – the Government is at risk of not meeting their goals, and actually going backwards in some areas. In 'Closing International Law's Innocence Gap,' Duke Law Clinical Professor Jayne Huckerby, Professor Laurence Helfer, and Professor Brandon Garrett argue that now is the time to close a gap in how national criminal legal systems address post-conviction claims of factual innocence. They build a substantive case for recognizing a new international human right and detail the advantages of doing such, offering derivative and freestanding approaches, as well as a framework for adapting the right to national models. Samatha's story is the final episode of 2020 where I started out to interview a nurse a month as part of the 2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Most of my interviews have been with nurses working in Australia and it seemed only right to include the experience of an Australian nurse who identifies as being an Aboriginal woman. This experience needs to be heard and understood and more importantly, storytelling is a large part of Aboriginal culture. Samantha describes "being caught between two worlds, a love of my people and a love of the frontline and trying to find the balance." Samantha is a Koori woman from Ngunnawal and Wiradjuri country. Samatha is passionate about wanting to increase access to health services through telehealth for Aboriginal people and importantly for Aboriginal people to be able to speak to a health care worker who identifies as Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander. Closing the Gap is something that Samantha references throughout her interview. The Australian Government describes 'Closing the Gap' as being "underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved. It also recognises that structural change in the way governments work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is needed to close the gap" Samantha's interview highlights that there is still much work to be done if the trust is to be rebuilt amongst Aboriginal communities to facilitate and sustain aboriginal community engagement that addresses their health needs and influences the services that need to be developed as a result. Samantha advocates and articulates passionately the health issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and has a dream to establish a mentoring program that can help and support Aboriginal nurses to remain in their country through accessing remote learning and mentorship from qualified nurses who identify as Aboriginal Torress Strait Islander. If you can help Samantha realise this dream please get in touch and I would love to connect you both. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/eva-storey/message
On Oct. 13, 2016, weeks before scoring one of the biggest political upsets in U.S. history, Donald J. Trump delivered a "closing argument" speech before an enthusiastic crowd in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Republican nominee pledged that, if elected, he would work to "remove from our politics the special interests who have betrayed our workers, our borders, our freedoms, and our sovereign rights as a nation." He also decried what he called a "campaign of destruction" being waged by his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, and he took aim The New York Times and other "media enablers" who "[do] not even attempt to confirm the most basic facts." "Join me in taking back our country," he urged voters. "We will make America great again." On Election Day, Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States, winning 30 states and earning 306 electoral votes. This speech has been abridged slightly for this podcast. This week we are treating you the listeners to another bumper double edition. We are delighted to have interviews with the authors of 2 new education books , namely Alex Quigley and Dr Catherine Lee . Alex is interviewed by Bernie Kaye, a fantastic new addition to our NN team , Bernie is an English teaching uber geek with a passion for cooking, reading and festival going. AHT - ITT, research & literacy. We have all our usual features including our TDT section http://tdtrust.org/and Lockdown Learning. About Alex I am National Content Manager at the EEF, supporting teachers to access research evidence. After over fifteen years in the classroom, I now support from outside the school gates. Closing the reading gap So, what is the reading gap? It is a teacher knowledge gap, but more importantly, it is the gap that exists between reading access, reading practice and reading ability for the pupils in our schools. It marks out the ‘reading rich’ and the ‘reading poor’ populate all of our schools. The gap is writ large when we explore the evidence. Take reading access. Recent research from the National Literacy Trust shows that 1 in 11 children own a book of their own. A mere 1 in 8 disadvantaged children own a book. I think about the impact of those empty bookshelves (in all likelihood, there is no bookshelf at all) for pupils. Then when you explore school attainment, you can see the gap and the daily damage that is suffered by many pupils. When you consider that only 73% of pupils leaving primary school reached the expected level for reading in 2019, it is clear that many of those pupils will struggle to access the secondary school curriculum. I never expected two years ago that this book would be published during a global crisis that would see pupils impacted by school closures. When you wed closures to limited book access, limited teaching, along with limited support at home, the prospect for the reading gap is massively challenging. I hope that this book – and the free related resources – offer some useful guidance for teachers and schools during this challenging time. It should provide handy CPD, now and as schools bounce back to support our pupils. You can purchase the book from the following. Amazon link HERE You can find 5 free resources to go with the book on my RESOURCES page HERE. About Catherine UK Pride Power List 2019. Diva Award finalist 2020. For LGBT teachers, vigilance, concealment and assimilation, take a great deal of energy, on top of what is already a very demanding job. Thanks to John Campbell of Talent Outcomes for joining us on this episode! John shares some great insights on the #candidateexperience in this 'Closing the loop' episode. He offers specific examples from his own personal experience as job candidate as well as best practices. Closing the loop with communicating with candidates was my key take away. It's time to close in a bit further on the conclusion of the fourth season of Third Watch as we get to the penultimate episode of the season with our recap of the 21st episode Closing In. Why does Fred hate Bosco so much all of a sudden? Do we get to see a bit of nudity this episode? Is Fred secretly hanging out with Jimmy at his job? What is Fred's job specifically? Does Dorvell offend women in this episode? Do teenagers really ask their parents for condoms and sexual advice? How great is it to see Nia Long finally appear? Do we like the crazy guy and his fairies? How great is the acting between Tia Texada and Jason Wiles? Should Kim know where Noble's hotel is already? Why does the hotel have such bad security? Could Ben get a date with Britney Spears if he asked for one in a hotel in New York? And do we like the ending or is it a bit cheesy? It's leading us closer to a big finale next week so listen and get thrilled!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Hiiiii family! After a short break, Alex and I are discussing 'Closing the Gap', both physically and emotionally. For those of you who don't know, Alex and I began our friendship long distance, on opposite ends of the United States. After a few months, we decided mutually to pursue something more definitive and after another few months, Alex decided to move to California while I finish my last 6 months in the military. Part One!

Tobias Rosefeldt is professor of philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He works on Kant’s theoretical philosophy and has written a book on Kant’s theory of the self. He is currently interested in giving an interpretation of Kant’s distinction between appearances and things in themselves that is able to solve some of the notorious problems with it. He is also interested in contemporary metaphysics and the philosophy of language and tries to show that you can believe that there are things that do not exist without being a Meinongian. This podcast is an audio recording of Professor Rosefeldt's talk - 'Closing the Gap' - at the Aristotelian Society on 22 February 2016. The recording was produced by Backdoor Broadcasting Company.
