Only the high priest could enter the inner room, and that was only once a year, bringing animal blood for the sins of the people and himself. These rituals symbolized that full access to God was not yet open. But Christ changed everything. He entered a greater, heavenly sanctuary and offered His own blood, not the blood of animals. His sacrifice brings eternal redemption and cleanses the believer's conscience. A covenant requires death, and His death established a new and better covenant. After ascending into the holy place of heaven, He will come again, having already dealt with sin, bringing final salvation to those eagerly waiting for Him. We see the beauty and seriousness of God's design through the Old Covenant. It taught us the weight of sin and the need for sacrifice. But now, through Jesus, we have something even greater. He entered a more perfect place, not made by human hands, and offered His own blood to secure eternal redemption. His sacrifice not only cleanses the outside; it reaches our hearts and clears our conscience. We are invited to serve God with full assurance, not because of our efforts but because of His mercy. Let us honor both the foundation that was laid and the fulfillment we now have. Let us live with gratitude, cleansed by Jesus' blood and anticipating the triumphant return of Jesus. Benevolent Father, thank You for sending Jesus as our perfect sacrifice and eternal high priest. He did not offer the blood of animals but gave His own life to secure our redemption. Through Him, we now have access to Your presence and the promise of eternal life. Cleanse our hearts and renew our minds so that we may serve You with sincerity and devotion. Help us to live in gratitude for the mercy we have received. May we never take lightly the cost of our salvation. Please accept our faith as we wait with hope for the return of our Savior. Thought Questions: How is Christ's high priesthood and sacrifice greater than the regulations of divine worship and the earthly sanctuary in the Old Law? What did the blood of Jesus Christ accomplish? How should it represent not only forgiveness but also a new and binding covenant? What is guaranteed to happen after your death? What do you believe about Jesus that gives you great hope in the coming judgment?

Most people think of October 31st as Halloween—but it’s also Reformation Day, a cornerstone of Christian history that forever changed how believers understand salvation. Rooted in Romans 5:1–2, this devotional reminds us that faith—not works—justifies us before God. Martin Luther’s courage to challenge corruption in the church reignited the truth of salvation by grace alone through faith alone, and his bold stand still calls us to live out the Gospel with conviction today. Highlights Reformation Day commemorates October 31, 1517, when Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the Wittenberg church door. Luther’s actions reclaimed the biblical truth that salvation comes by grace through faith, not by works or wealth. His translation of the Bible into German gave ordinary people access to God’s Word for the first time. Today, over 700 languages have Scripture translations—a legacy of the Reformation’s impact. Believers are called to guard against modern distortions of the Gospel, like prosperity or works-based teachings. Living out Reformation truths means boldly proclaiming salvation through Christ alone and standing firm in sound doctrine. Join the Conversation How can you live out the truths of the Reformation in your daily faith walk? Share your reflections and gratitude for the freedom we have in Christ. TODAY'S LESSONThe most dangerous woman in your city isn't the influencer with the most followers; it's the intercessor with a burdened heart and a Bible that falls open by memory. Prayer is not religious furniture—it's a war table. It's where strategies are revealed, assignments are resisted, and Heaven's authority is brought to bear on earthly chaos. When a woman prays over her home, hell loses jurisdiction. When she prays over her husband, discouragement loses its grip. When she prays over her children, identity confusion gets confronted by the voice of God.James says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” (James 5:16). Power—because prayer plugs your weakness into God's omnipotence. As it is working—because prayer is not a one-and-done wish; it's a persistent labor that keeps knocking until doors open, keeps seeking until wisdom is found, keeps asking until the heavens thunder, “Now.” Prayer recalibrates your emotions, reorders your priorities, and reorients your family to the presence of the Lord.Let's be real: the enemy's favorite strategy is to keep you too busy to pray. Busy women can build schedules; praying women build altars. And altars change lineages. Build one in your home—time, place, pattern. Dedicate a chair. Put a blanket there. Tape promises to the wall. Let your kids catch you praying. When storms come—and they will—your home will already be aligned to the voice that calms waves with a sentence. This is not about eloquence; it's about agreement. Agree with God's Word. Agree with the Spirit's prompting. Agree with Jesus' intercession, because He is praying for you right now. Step into that stream and add your amen.

Earthly priests served in a copy and shadow of what exists in heaven, following patterns given to Moses. However, Jesus has received a superior ministry based on a better covenant established on better promises. The old covenant was not without faults, and God promised a new one. This new covenant is not written on stone but on hearts. God declared that He would be their God and they would be His people. Everyone would know Him, and He would remember their sins no more. With this new covenant, the old one becomes obsolete and is ready to vanish, replaced by something far greater. We are part of something greater than any system built by human hands. Jesus is not a distant figure in a temple made of stone. He is our high priest, seated with God, always interceding for us. We are not bound by the rules of the Old Law written on tablets. Instead, God has inscribed His truth on our hearts. We know Him personally, and He knows us completely. His promises are superior, and His mercy is genuine and life-changing. We are invited into a relationship founded on grace, where our sins are no longer remembered. Let us walk daily in His assurances, trusting that Christ is near us, and embracing the freedom of the new covenant with Jesus. Holy God, thank You for Your faithfulness through every covenant. We are grateful for the ways You have revealed Yourself, first through the law and now through Christ. You have written Your truth on our hearts and invited us into a closer relationship with You. Thank You for Jesus, our high priest who intercedes for us and makes the way to You clear and sure. Help us live with gratitude, not forgetting what came before but embracing the new, better, more excellent covenant in Christ. By Your abiding grace and the power of the blood, please remember our sins no more. Thought Questions: What makes Jesus the exalted, perfected, and most wonderful high priest of all time? How is He using this role for your benefit even today? In what ways is the new covenant in Christ superior to the Old Law and any law separate from Him? List a few incredible promises. What does it mean to say that the new covenant law “will be written on their hearts”? How do you know Christ's law is written on your heart?

Today, they're one of the largest Christian populations in Indonesia, with over 6 million believers. The transformation happened because someone, a German missionary named Ludwig Nommensen, decided their spiritual poverty was unacceptable. That was 190 years ago. Today, 4,473 people groups are still waiting for their Ludwig Nommensen moment. The People Group Adoption Program launches today, and here's how it works: It meets you where you are. You're not being asked to become a missionary in the field (though if God calls you to that, we'll cheer you on). You're being invited to use your current gifts, prayer, advocacy, networking, research to support those who are already called to go. It's strategic. Every people group in our database has been vetted by researchers and field workers. These aren't randomly selected communities. They're the 100 largest frontier people groups, the populations with the least gospel access and the greatest potential for kingdom impact. It grows with your capacity. Whether you're adopting as a family, church, or organization, the commitment adjusts to what you can offer. Someweekly. Others will fund translation projects. A few will end up moving to the field. All contributions matter. When you adopt a people group today, you'll receive: Immediate next steps for your specific adopted group A digital covenant card to mark your commitment Information about your frontier people group Regular updates as we develop more resources and connections Beyond the practical resources, you'll receive something harder to quantify: the knowledge that you're part of a strategic response to the most urgent spiritual need on our planet. The Batak people have been sending missionaries to unreached groups for decades now. Their story didn't end with their own transformation; it multiplied exponentially.

He received a tenth from Abraham, showing that his role was greater than fleshly descendants who would come later. Since the old system could not bring lasting perfection, a new kind of priest was needed—one not based on ancestry but on the power of a life that cannot end. Jesus fills this role perfectly. His priesthood never changes, and He brings a better hope, opening the way to God. He is not limited by death like the others. He is able to save completely, always living to intercede for those who draw near to God through Him. His priesthood is perfect, permanent, and full of power. We have a priest in Jesus who will never step down, never be replaced, and never stop caring for us. He is not limited by time or weakness. He lives forever, so we are never alone. We do not have to depend on broken systems or our efforts to reach God. Jesus is our way. He intercedes for us constantly, even when we fail. That gives us hope and confidence. We can come to God boldly, knowing Jesus understands and stands with us. We are called to trust Him fully, not only in moments of strength but also in times of struggle. His priesthood gives us lasting peace because He is always present, always willing, and always able to save. Kind Lord, thank You for giving us Jesus, our eternal high priest. He never changes, never leaves, and never stops interceding for us. When we feel unworthy or distant, He stands in the gap and draws us near. His life is perfect, His power is unending, and His love is sure. We come to You with confidence, not because we are strong, but because He is faithful. Help us to trust in His priesthood and lean on His constant presence. Teach us to rest in the hope He brings and to walk with assurance, knowing we are held in His grace. Thought Questions: What is the significance of Melchizedek and Abraham in this chapter? If Abraham honored him, how much more so should you honor Jesus? What does it mean to say that Jesus is your high priest? How does Jesus serve as an intercessor between you and the Father? How is Jesus a better high priest than all who served God under the old law? What does it mean to say He is “made perfect forever”?

Have you ever worked with someone who was jealous of you? In Fran and Jesus on the Job, Fran discovers a coworker is not only jealous of her but seeks to ruin her. As I periodically present these stories of Fran and Jesus, it is my prayer you will be encouraged to practice the presence of Jesus on your job and seek his guidance in every situation you face. On this Wednesday morning, Marilyn, Fran's boss, comes into her office and says, “Fran, I want you to meet Jenny. She just transferred here from our Atlanta office, and she'll be working with Phil as his assistant.” “Glad to meet you,” Fran says, as she extends her hand. “If I can help in any way, let me know.” “Yes, Jenny, you can always count on Fran. She's one of our best account reps, so she knows the ropes well,” Marilyn adds. “That's nice,” Jenny says, “but I can hold my own. I…uh…I was sales leader in the Atlanta office last year, but I had to transfer out here because my husband took a new job, so…” “Well,” Marilyn chimes in, “we just didn't have a sales slot for Jenny right now, but I'm sure something will open up before too long.” “I sure hope so,” Jenny says. “I didn't put in all that hard work as an account rep to work as an assistant.” It is obvious Jenny is not happy with her current assignment. As they leave, Fran thinks: She acts like she's too good to have that job. I think she's going to be trouble. But as soon as she starts that kind of thinking, the Spirit of God convicts her. “I'm sorry, Lord,” she prays quietly, “forgive me for thinking of her in negative ways. Help me to have the right attitude toward her.” Fran is learning a very important principle about dealing with people. When you are working with someone you don't particularly like, don't allow yourself to indulge in derogatory thoughts about the person. Instead, pray for him or her. Every time you are tempted to think unkind thoughts about the person, just stop right in the middle and change those thoughts to a prayer. Pray for your attitude toward the person and pray for him or her.

When you pray, God can and will moves mountains.  Don't forget to pray, but KEEP praying.  Today, we look at Joshua and the Israelites when they circled Jericho 13 times waiting for the miracle of God the entire time.  It was long, boring, and unexciting, but in their waiting and circling, God provides one of the most significant miracles we see in the Scriptures.  Don't stop praying 1 prayer short of your miracle! Send me a Text Message! If we look at Jesus' example we would have to say that of all his names, Father is God's favorite.  In the Old Testament God was called Father, only 7x.  Jesus refers to God as Father 17x in the Sermon on the Mount alone! The gospels record over 200x's that Jesus called God Father. God's our Father. In Jesus day, those words were  revolutionary. Never before had that been the primary way of viewing God, but it shaped everything Jesus said and did, especially his prayer life.  And then this amazing thing happens, he passes it on to us. "Not only my Father," Jesus says, "your Father. He's your Abba, Papa, Daddy God." Prayer may at times be more than, but it will never be less than an on-going and on-growing personal relationship with your Father God. So climb up on his lap and pray!

Big Idea: Living a transformed life at work this week.1 Corinthians 15:50-58I. Long for the trumpet 1 Corinthians 15:50-52What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruption. Listen, I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.II. Live triumphantly1 Corinthians 15:53-54For this corruptible body must be clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body must be clothed with immortality. When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: Death has been swallowed up in victory.III. Let nothing terrorize you1 Corinthians 15:55-57Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!IV. Love tenaciously 1 Corinthians 15:58Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.Next Steps: Believe: I need Jesus to transform my life today.Become: I will live with hope despite my struggles this week. Be Sent: I will put my transformed life on display this week.Discussion Questions: Describe the signs of a triumphant life.Did belief in the resurrection influence your decisions last week?In what areas have you experienced fear giving way to victory through your faith? What obstacles most frequently prevent you from living a victorious life? How steadfast were you in the face of temptation last week?Who is someone that needs to hear about the victory Jesus has won for them?Pray for them to see the hope of your faith this week.

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary TimePrayer is the oxygen we need to spiritually live. It is our primary connection with God. In today's Gospel we read about two individuals who enter the temple to pray with different postures of this fundamental reality: the pharisee and the tax collector. The pharisee left the temple self-justified leading to further self-guilt and self-hatred. Whereas, the tax collector left justified by God. God listens not to perfection, but to humility. True prayer is is the posture of dependence, not pride. Pray like the tax collector and live like St. Paul-humble, grateful, and confident in God's mercy.Scripture Readings for October 26, 2025Sirach 35:12-14, 16-18Psalm 34:2-3, 17-19, 232 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18Luke 18:9-14
