If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)YouTube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comII Timothy 2Paul urges Timothy to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and to pass on the truth to faithful individuals who will continue teaching others. He uses illustrations of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer to highlight discipline, endurance, and hard work in ministry. Just as he does, Paul reminds Timothy to endure hardship for the gospel's sake. He emphasizes the importance of avoiding quarrels and ungodly talk, which only lead to more harm. Instead, he should study and learn the word of God. Timothy is instructed to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, and to correct opponents with gentleness, in hopes that God may lead them to repentance. The chapter focuses on endurance, faithful teaching, and a life that reflects the saving mission of Jesus Christ.  The Christian life is filled with the grace of God; therefore, it must be marked by endurance, discipline, and devotion. We are called to share the truth with care, investing in others who will remain faithful to the message of Christ and share the word themselves. Like soldiers, athletes, and farmers, we must be willing to work diligently and stay focused on what truly matters. We must avoid arguments that distract from Christ and His eternal glory, and instead pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. God calls us to correct others, not with pride, but with gentleness, trusting Him to bring about change. Let us honor God by being examples and sharers of the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.  Heavenly Father, You have called us to a life that is steady, pure, and useful in Your hands. We call upon You to shape our hearts so we do not chase distractions or arguments but remain focused on truth. Build in us the quiet strength of a soldier, the discipline of an athlete, and the patience of a farmer. Let us not grow weary in teaching or in waiting. Help us to carry Your name with humility and to treat others with gentleness. Cleanse us from what is dishonorable and make us ready for every good work You have prepared. Thought Questions: What does it mean to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”? How does it relate to the imagery of a soldier, athlete, and farmer? Why do Christians often argue in ways that only divide us? Why should we be more focused on living like Jesus and refusing to deny His glory? Why is it vital to live a righteous life and be patient with people, even those who wrong you? Is it your mission to help God reach those people?

Today, they're one of the largest Christian populations in Indonesia, with over 6 million believers. The transformation happened because someone, a German missionary named Ludwig Nommensen, decided their spiritual poverty was unacceptable. That was 190 years ago. Today, 4,473 people groups are still waiting for their Ludwig Nommensen moment. The People Group Adoption Program launches today, and here's how it works: It meets you where you are. You're not being asked to become a missionary in the field (though if God calls you to that, we'll cheer you on). You're being invited to use your current gifts, prayer, advocacy, networking, research to support those who are already called to go. It's strategic. Every people group in our database has been vetted by researchers and field workers. These aren't randomly selected communities. They're the 100 largest frontier people groups, the populations with the least gospel access and the greatest potential for kingdom impact. It grows with your capacity. Whether you're adopting as a family, church, or organization, the commitment adjusts to what you can offer. Some will pray weekly. Others will fund translation projects. A few will end up moving to the field. All contributions matter. When you adopt a people group today, you'll receive: Immediate next steps for your specific adopted group A digital covenant card to mark your commitment Information about your frontier people group Regular updates as we develop more resources and connections Beyond the practical resources, you'll receive something harder to quantify: the knowledge that you're part of a strategic response to the most urgent spiritual need on our planet. The Batak people have been sending missionaries to unreached groups for decades now. Their story didn't end with their own transformation; it multiplied exponentially.

In this Bible Story, we learn about the true meaning of kindness from the story of the good Samaritan. Jesus uses this story to teach that goodness does not always come from the perfect people, rather those that we may least expect. This story is inspired by Luke 10:25-37. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Luke 10:37 from the King James Version.Episode 201: On another day of walking and teaching a lawyer came up to Jesus asking about eternal life. Wanting to justify himself he responded to Jesus' answer by asking Him who counts as a neighbor. To illustrate His point, Jesus told the lawyer a story about an Israelite man who was robbed, beaten, and left for dead. Nobody who should have helped this man, actually helped him. Instead, a Samaritan, hated by the Jews, picked him up, bandaged his wounds, and brought him to an inn to be taken care of. The next question Jesus asks challenges both the lawyer and us to think about what it means to be a neighbor.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)YouTube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comII Timothy 1The apostle Paul writes a heartfelt letter to Timothy, expressing gratitude for his sincere faith, which first lived in his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. Paul encourages Timothy to rekindle the spiritual gift God gave him and reminds him that the Spirit of God does not make believers timid but gives them power, love, and self-discipline. He urges Timothy not to be ashamed of the gospel or of Paul's suffering but to join in enduring hardship for the sake of Christ. Paul reminds him that God saved them by grace and called them to a holy life and to guard the standard of truth God has revealed. Paul expresses full confidence in Christ despite imprisonment, urging Timothy to guard the truth through the Holy Spirit who lives in them. This emotional letter from Paul to Timothy reminds us that our faith must be active and cultivated with intentional care. We have been entrusted with a sacred message, one that has the power to transform lives. We are not called to live in fear or hesitation, but in the strength, love, and discipline that God provides in His holy word. Our calling is not earned, but given by grace, and it must be exclaimed as we share the triumphant victory of Jesus Christ. We must be willing to endure hardship for the gospel's sake, standing firm in truth regardless of opposition. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we are equipped to remain faithful and to protect what God has placed within us, the treasure and pattern of truth.  Loving God, we come before You with gratitude for the faith You are developing within us. Teach us how to strengthen what is weak and stir anew the gifts You have entrusted to our care. Help us to walk not in fear, but in the power, love, and self-discipline that come from Your Spirit. Teach us to stand unashamed of the gospel and to endure hardship with grace. May we guard the truth faithfully, not in our strength but through the Holy Spirit who lives within us. May our lives reflect the calling and purpose You have set before us. Thought Questions: Paul had a special relationship with Timothy that uplifted him. Who, in your life, is your spiritual family and a great encouragement to you? What are some gifts God has given you for His service that could use some refreshing? How might it be time to become unashamed and bold? How has the gospel of the Lord Jesus changed your life? Is the gospel the treasure and only pattern for your life? How do you show that?

What did you do? If you're anything like me, you didn't pray. You might've shrugged, or cried a little, or made a snarky remark (also more like me than the other two)--but if you're like me, you didn't pray. Our lack of prayer shows we are forgetting just who it is we serve. We serve a God who is:A good fatherCreator God of everythingCalling us to kingdom workWe pray to see His will be done and His kingdom come. In this powerful episode, I open my heart about what it truly means to step out of your comfort zone and trust God's calling on your life.   It all started with a moment at the gym—one that reminded me how easily we can get attached to comfort, even when our soul is craving growth. Just like a baby eagle learning to fly, we are sometimes pushed by God into discomfort so we can discover the strength and purpose He's placed within us.   I share how following Jesus doesn't necessarily make life easier—but it makes it richer, fuller, and more meaningful. When you say “yes” to God's plan, you might face challenges, resistance, or even fear—but through it all, He's shaping you for something greater.   This episode is for the woman who's been praying for clarity, who's afraid to take the next step, or who's tired of waiting for a detailed roadmap. I want to remind you: you don't need to see the full plan to trust the path. Faith grows in the spaces where certainty ends.

It grows with your capacity. Whether you're adopting as a family, church, or organization, the commitment adjusts to what you can offer. Some will pray weekly. Others will fund translation projects. A few will end up moving to the field. All contributions matter. In this Bible Story, Jesus gives an intense illustration about the true meaning of forgiveness and mercy through a servant and his master. That we must show forgiveness to others because we have been forgiven ourselves. This story is inspired by Matthew 18:21-35 & Luke 10:25-37. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Matthew 18:27 from the King James Version.Episode 200: As Jesus and His disciples were walking, Peter asked Him a question about forgiveness. In response, Jesus told him the story of a servant who owed his King an excessive amount of money. There was no way the servant could pay so he begged the King to spare him and the King forgave him his debt. But later, that same servant went out and found someone who owed him a very small amount of money. When the man begged for mercy, the servant had him thrown into prison. When the King found out about this, the servant who had his large debt forgiven was sent to be tormented in prison until his debt was paid. If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)YouTube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comI Timothy 6Paul concludes with various instructions for Timothy to share with the church. He urges that slaves show respect to their masters so that God's name and teaching will not be discredited. Paul warns against those who teach false doctrines and are motivated by pride and greed. He reminds Timothy that godliness with contentment is great gain, and that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Paul charges Timothy to flee from these worldly desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. He is called to fight the good fight of faith and hold tightly to eternal life, for the Sovereign King is coming in glory! Paul closes by warning the wealthy to be humble, generous, and focused on eternal treasure rather than earthly riches. We are reminded that real gain is not found in possessions or status, but in godliness and contentment. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more, yet God calls us to be satisfied in Him. We must be careful not to let money or pride guide our choices. Instead, we should pursue what lasts: righteousness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. We are in a spiritual fight, and we must hold tightly to what is true. If we have been given much, we are called to be generous and humble. Our hope must rest not in what we can earn or own, but in a life awaiting the Lord Jesus Christ, who will rule for all eternity.   Kind Father, we come to You with hearts that want to be content in You alone. Teach us to let go of our need for more and to rest in the riches of Your grace. Help us to flee from selfish desires and chase after qualities that imitate the holiness of Your Son. Strengthen us to fight the good fight and hold tightly to the eternal life You have promised. Remind us that everything we have comes from You. Make us generous, humble, and focused on what truly matters. May our hope be anchored in You, and in nothing else.  Thought Questions: How far will you go to honor God's name and doctrine? Why must you accept the challenge to treat people well, no matter who they are? Why is the love of money the root of all sorts of evil? How do you protect your heart and life against discontentment, selfishness, and greed? What does it mean to “take hold of eternal life” even as you live on earth? How will you live and give if you expect Christ's return at any time?

Title: The Thing We Rarely Ask For But ShouldSpeaker: Rob BerrethScripture: Hebrews 12:3-13Episode Overview:God's discipline is something few of us ask for—but all of us desperately need. In this message from Hebrews 12:3–13, we explore how God's loving correction is not a mark of His anger, but evidence of His deep affection. The author of Hebrews reminds us to “consider Him who endured such hostility” so that we do not grow weary or lose heart. By fixing our eyes on Christ, we begin to see God's discipline not as punishment, but as purposeful—training us in holiness and shaping us into the likeness of His Son.This sermon unpacks two essential truths: first, that Jesus has already endured everything we never could; and second, that God's discipline is a profound good that grows endurance, righteousness, and peace in His children.Key Highlights:• Embrace Christ First: Before we can understand discipline, we must look to Jesus—the One who endured the Cross so that we could be saved. His endurance strengthens our faith and reframes our struggles.• Embrace Discipline Second: God's discipline is never condemnation. It is always correction and training, rooted in His perfect love for His sons and daughters.• The Purpose of Discipline: “For our good, that we may share in His holiness.” Discipline produces growth, endurance, and the peaceful fruit of righteousness.• The Right Response: Remember who you are—God's beloved child. Receive His correction eagerly, and let it shape you rather than harden you.• The Result: When we let God re-tune our hearts, He restores our joy and strengthens our faith, preparing us to “run with endurance the race set before us.”Call to Action:Ask God to reveal the areas in your life that need His loving correction. Instead of resisting His hand, invite Him to train and shape you for holiness. Pray, “Lord, whatever it takes, discipline me.” And when He does—receive it as grace. Because the Father who loves you as you are also loves you too much to leave you as you are.Redeemer Church211 Northshore Dr. Bellingham, WA 98226www.redeemernw.org

The readings are Nehemiah 9, Esther 4 and 14, and Proverbs 21:9-12. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.
