You're praying. You're showing up. You're putting in the time and doing the work. But the breakthrough still isn't coming. Is something wrong? Are you missing something? Is God even listening? Before doubt creeps in and discouragement tells you to give up on that big dream God placed in your heart, let's pause for a perspective shift. What if the delay isn't punishment, but preparation? In this episode, we'll unpack biblical truths to help you trust God's timing, recognize His purpose in the waiting, and see that the breakthrough isn't denied, it's simply being held until the growth He's cultivating in you is complete. If you feel stuck in the tension between faith and frustration, don't give up. God is still moving. I pray this blesses you! Ready to Make Consistent Income From a Podcast? In this Bible Story, we learn about Ahaziah's short reign as king over Israel. He falls from the top of his upper room and injures himself beyond repair. He sought the healing and guidance of the Philistine gods, but is instead met with Elijah's rebuke and God's justice. This story is inspired by 2 Kings 1. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is 2 Kings 1:15 from the King James Version.Episode 128: As Elijah traveled with his servant Elisha throughout the land of Israel, they crossed the Jordan river, pausing for a moment Elisha asked his master for a blessing, a double portion of the Spirit that was on Elijah. Though this was not something he personally could give, he said that if his servant should see him as the Lord took him away, then it would happen. As they continued walking along the path the sky opened up and chariots of fire descended to receive Elijah taking him away.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. Bible Reading: Romans 12:9-13"Look!" said Rylee, stepping back from the huge saguaro cactus. "There's something in that hole!"Dad and Easton came over to see. Sure enough, a pair of blinking yellow eyes peered back at them from a hole in the trunk of the cactus."I think it's a screech owl," said Easton. "We learned that woodpeckers peck holes into cactuses when they make their nests. Then after they leave, other birds move into the empty holes and live there."Dad nodded. "Each time the cactus skin is broken--like when a woodpecker makes a hole--a thick gluey liquid seeps out and forms a waterproof pouch. The liquid hardens, kind of like a scab, to make the pouch permanent. Inside the hole it's cooler in the day and warmer at night, so it makes an ideal home for desert birds."Rylee saw big and little holes in the arms of one of the cactuses--they were everywhere. "This saguaro is like a high-rise apartment building!" she said with a laugh. "What a crowded place to live."Easton grinned. "Just like our house."Rylee nodded thoughtfully. Grandma had recently moved into their house, and Julia, a single mom who went to their church, was going to be living with them for a while with her two-year-old son, Wilder. Rylee remembered the discussion they'd had about Julia and Wilder coming. "You're kidding!" Rylee had said. "Where are they going to sleep?""Well, they will need to move into your room, and you'll have to share a room with Easton." Dad patted Rylee's hand when he saw the look on her face. "It's only for a while until Julia can get back on her feet. We'll all have to make some sacrifices, but that's often necessary when we're called to love others like Jesus, who sacrificed everything for us. Pray about it, will you?" Rylee had tried, but she hadn't felt comfortable praying. She knew she was being selfish. But now Rylee looked at the big saguaro that offered a home to any creature who needed it, even if it meant having holes pecked into its walls. I won't complain, she thought. Even if Wilder pounds holes into our walls too--and knowing him, I'm sure he will! –Trudy Vander VeenHow About You?Are you willing to give up some of your comforts or conveniences to help others? Try to put yourself in their shoes and consider how you might feel if you needed help and no one was willing to give it. When we needed to be rescued from sin, Jesus sacrificed His life to save us. Trust Him to help you love others the way He does and be willing to make sacrifices for them. Today's Key Verse:No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. (NIV) (1 Corinthians 10:24)Today's Key Thought:Make sacrifices for others

Send us a textWelcomeThanks for pressing play! In today's journey through Judges we meet Samson—the gifted judge who could tear lions to shreds, yet couldn't rein in his own appetite. His life is a walking paradox: Spirit-empowered, vow-bound … and willfully compromised. The big question we're chasing: How can a holy God work through people who are anything but holy? If you've ever felt the tension between your calling and your failures, Samson's story is your mirror—and your hope.Episode Notes1. Three Snapshot Scenes1. **The Woman (vv. 1-4)** “She is right in my eyes.” – Samson • Impulse over covenant • Echo of the book's theme: *“Everyone did what was right in his own eyes”* (Judg 21:25).2. **The Lion (vv. 5-9)** • Spirit-given strength vs. self-given silence • Touches a carcass twice, quietly breaking his Nazirite vow.3. **The Riddle (vv. 10-12)** • A seven-day drinking feast among Philistines • “Out of the eater came something to eat…”—turning sin's secrecy into gambling capital.2. Big Truths to Chew On| Truth | Why It Matters || God's sovereignty bends even sinful choices into redemptive purposes (v. 4). | Your failures don't write the final chapter. || Charisma without character caves in. | Spiritual gifting ≠ spiritual maturity. || “Right in my eyes” is the default of a leaderless heart. | We all need a better King than ourselves. |3. Reflection Questions1. Where do you rely on gifting while neglecting character? 2. Which appetites currently drive your “sight-based” decisions? 3. How have you seen God redeem a bad choice you made? 4. In what area do you need to swap *“right in my eyes”* for *“right in God's eyes”* this week?### 4. Practice This Week• 30-Minute Audit:** List recent decisions. Mark each *S* (sight) or *F* (faith). Pray over the *S's.* • Honey Fast:** Skip your go-to comfort snack/beverage for three days. Each craving = a cue to pray, “Lord, master my appetites.” • Accountability Text:** Ask a trusted friend, “What blind-spot do you see in me that I justify as ‘right in my eyes'?”6. Beginning to Pray: "The Last Retreat - Day 12 " - “God has said: “Be holy, for I am holy.” 31. This is Christ's work in every soul of good185 will and it is the work that His immense love, His “exceeding love,” 186 is eager to do in me. He wants to be my peace so that nothing can distract me or draw me out of “the invincible fortress of holy recolletion.” 187 It is there that He will give me “access to the Father” and will keep me as still and as peaceful in His presence as if my soul were already in eternity. 188 It is by the Blood of His Cross that He will make peace in my little heaven, so that it may truly be the repose of the Three. He will fill me with Himself; He will bury me with Him; He will make me live again with Him, by His life: “Mihi vivere Christus est!” 189 And if I fall at every moment, 190 in a wholly confident faith I will be helped up by Him. I know that He will forgive me, that He will cancel out everything with a jealous care, and even more, He will “despoil” me, He will “free” 191 me from all my miseries, from everything that is an obstacle to the divine action. “He will lead away all my powers,” 192 making them His captives, triumphing over them in Himself. Then I will have wholly passed into Him and can say: “I no longer live. My Master lives in me!” 193 And I will be “holy, pure, without reproach” in the Father's eyes. Do you feel stuck, dry, or disconnected in your prayer life—and don't know why? In this episode of Remnant Radio, Joshua Lewis and Michael Rowntree sit down with Jeremy Linneman, pastor and author of Pour Out Your Heart: Discovering Joy, Strength, and Intimacy with God through Prayer, to uncover the forgotten prayer practices that the modern church has left behind—and why we desperately need to recover them.Jeremy shares how his own church became a praying church, and how practices like lament, praying the Psalms, intercessory emotion, and even liturgical prayer have reshaped not only his community, but his own intimacy with God. We also explore how the Western church's pursuit of positivity has stripped prayer of honesty, grief, and depth, leaving believers spiritually malnourished. If your prayer life feels mechanical, emotionless, or shallow—this conversation could change everything.

In Episode 103 of the Eyes on Jesus Podcast, Tim and Drew have a much-needed conversation about a growing trend in modern Christianity: the temptation to be wowed by personalities rather than drawn into the presence of God. With social media feeds filled with charismatic pastors, quick soundbites, and trendy sermon titles, many believers are becoming spiritual consumers instead of Spirit-led followers of Jesus. This episode tackles the subtle shift that can happen when we start chasing inspiration over transformation, likes over intimacy, and quotes over Scripture. Tim and Drew reflect on how churches can unintentionally feed this culture—and how pastors can feel the pressure to become performers instead of shepherds. They also open up about the challenge of helping people reengage with the presence of God. Whether it's low turnout for encounter nights or the growing apathy toward spiritual disciplines, it's clear that we're in danger of trading depth for dopamine. But there's hope. This episode is a call to return to our first love—to reclaim a passionate, intimate relationship with God that doesn't depend on a platform, a personality, or a perfectly packaged message. It's about finding Jesus again in the stillness, in the Word, and in genuine community.Apply it this week:Re-center your faith – Spend 15 minutes in silence with God this week. Welcome to episode 206 of Grasp the Bible. In this episode, we begin a three-week series on our Christian citizenship. Today, we explore what it means to have dual citizenship. Key takeaways: We hold, in a sense, dual citizenship—belonging to God's eternal kingdom while residing in temporal human kingdoms. Scripture points us toward a balanced approach that acknowledges both the legitimacy of government and its limitations. We respect governmental authority without idolizing it. We participate in civic affairs without placing our ultimate hope in political solutions. We must remember that our witness extends beyond our explicit political activity. Your citizenship in God's kingdom is secure and eternal, while earthly political systems are temporary. Quotable: When we expect government to accomplish what only God can do, we set ourselves up for either idolatry or disillusionment. Application: There are times when Christians must respectfully disobey governmental demands that would require us to violate God's commands. Four practical principles: First, we recognize the legitimacy of government as an institution established by God, even when we disagree with specific policies or leaders. Second, we participate thoughtfully in the civic process. Third, we maintain a prophetic voice that transcends partisan divisions. Fourth, we recognize the limitations of political solutions. Practical applications for living as kingdom citizens in earthly kingdoms: Pray regularly for governing officials—especially those you disagree with. Stay informed about issues affecting your community and nation, but be selective and critical about your information sources. Participate appropriately in civic processes. Maintain fellowship with believers across the political spectrum. In this Bible Story, Jehoshaphat becomes king over Judah and rules righteously. He sends out teachers and priests to care for the people, and teach them God's ways. However, his alliance with Ahab the King of Israel proves to be unwise, as Ahab leads them into an unwinnable battle. This story is inspired by 1 Kings 22 & 2 Chronicles 17-19:3. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is 2 Chronicles 17:10 from the King James Version.Episode 126: Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, spent his time fortifying cities and tearing down idols. He also sent teachers and priests to the surrounding territories so that they might know God. What the King was doing became so influential that even other nations such as the Philistines took notice and sent tribute. Jehoshaphat wanted to extend this peace to his brothers in Israel, so he made an alliance with King Ahab. During their celebration, King Ahab requested Jehoshaphat's help in reclaiming some territory. But Jehoshaphat wanted to hear from the Lord first. So Micaiah was called in and prophesied that this battle would be King Ahab's last.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast.
