Poor digital discoverability and inventory bottlenecks are quiet profit killers in modern commerce. With AI radically changing how consumers search and supply chains shifting under the weight of instant-delivery expectations, brands must adapt immediately or risk absolute irrelevance on the shelf. In this special matchup episode, host James Harris brings together industry leaders Eric Howerton, Grant Demers, Erin Wall, and Katie Smith to break down the high-stakes collision of artificial intelligence, logistics infrastructure, and inventory finance. We sit down to unpack the exact mechanisms behind this rapid retail evolution. We get into Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and how AI contextually reads images and video rather than just metadata, the operational realities of handling omni-channel fulfillment using temperature-controlled logistics, and why emerging suppliers must secure enough capital to fund a higher weeks-of-supply baseline. The major takeaway from this discussion is that brands can no longer wait for retail buyers to dictate the playbook; true market leaders must pitch the trend before the buyer even sees it coming. The friction behind this digital transition involves harsh logistical roadblocks, from managing multi-week port delays to navigating tight cash flow when scaling an emerging brand. Launching into major systems like Walmart with the exact bare minimum of product is a structural failure that stems from poor production timing and unrealistic freight expectations. Viewers will walk away with a clear system for auditing their digital shelf content and a realistic framework for aligning their physical distribution capabilities with their cash cycles. If you care about digital shelf discoverability, multi-channel logistics, and cash flow management, you'll get a lot from this. Please remember to subscribe to the channel and share this episode with a fellow founder or supply chain leader. The people demanded – well, some of them asked – for a mash-up episode. At Alpe d'Huez, we gathered in a car park (a typically glamorous recording location) to record a bonus episode, which will go out later this week. The Cycling Podcast x Escape Collective. Or Escape Collective + The Cycling Podcast, if you prefer.Graham and I joined Caley Fretz and Iain Treloar for a freewheeling, sometimes whimsical chat about life on the road at the Tour de France, this year's race, and how the media landscape has continued to evolve.Caley was an early guest on The Cycling Podcast way back in 2014, when he worked for VeloNews. In recent years, having established the Escape Collective, they've established their own podcast and have often joked about sharing the mic for a one-off episode. Midway through the Tour we found ourselves at the same hotel – the charming Saint Regis in Chalon-sur-Saône – and they were recording their episode as we were enjoying dinner. At some point, Caley shouted over and I joined them for a few minutes. Anyway, our people got together with their people, we thrashed out the terms and quibbled over the fine details and spent 40 minutes or so chatting about the Tour. We know that many listeners tune in to both podcasts so hopefully you'll enjoy the exchange of anecdotes and ideas in the episode.

This week, we're wrapping up our great "Mash-Up" picks with a film that combines mystery and comedy by parodying some of the greatest mysteries of our time. Released in 1976 from a script by the great playwright Neil Simon, this "whodunnit?" stars a veritable "who's who?" of screen royalty, including Peter Sellers, David Niven, Maggie Smith, James Coco, Peter Falk, Eileen Brennan, Elsa Lanchester, Truman Capote, Nancy Walker, James Cromwell, and Alec Guinness. When a group of guests are invited to a remote country mansion, they are challenged to solve an impossible crime… and to the discerning viewer, the guests seem awfully familiar: they're send-ups of some of the greatest detectives ever to grace page and screen, including Charlie Chan, Nick and Nora Charles, Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, and Sam Spade. But does literary pedigree plus clever casting equal comedy gold? Join us as we review the obviously titled Murder by Death! Landing your product on a retail shelf is a massive victory, but bleeding out in year two due to operational failure is a harsh industry standard. Right now, the margin for error in large-scale fulfillment is razor-thin, meaning founders must adapt their entire infrastructure to keep pace with rapid retail demands. To break down what separates surviving brands from those that fizzle out, we pulled together a masterclass mashup featuring retail experts Matt Adams, Erin Wall, Grant Demers, Brian Salmon, and Katie Smith. We get into the tactical execution required to maintain your retail footprint long after the initial line review. The panel covers critical missteps in omnichannel promotional strategy, the cascading impact of minor point-of-sale setting adjustments on fulfillment loads, and the exact methods to properly forecast domestic replenishment. The key shift highlighted by the group is learning how to run directly toward problems, ensuring you always bring merchants actionable solutions rather than simply reporting a failure.Keeping up with massive retail volume is a grueling endeavor that will quickly expose any structural cracks in your communication pipelines. A seemingly harmless inventory tweak can trigger sudden thirty-truckload demands, forcing teams to scramble through weekends just to prevent empty shelves and missed deliveries. Viewers will walk away understanding the critical need for extreme operational transparency and why admitting your capability limits early will save your long-term buyer relationships. If you care about supply chain resilience, operational accountability, and building lasting trust with major retail buyers, you'll get a lot from this. Please subscribe to the channel and share this episode with anyone currently scaling a physical product business. What is the most difficult operational bottleneck your team has had to overcome to keep your product in stock?

When the waves get bigger, I usually take out the Revo Max. But with that in the shop on a recent larger swell, I had to make do with the rest of my quiver. And this means the Machadocado was up at bat - though with having issues on similar boards (Too Fish, Mashup) not working the best on proper waves with some juice, I knew one of my @surfnvs fin configurations would do the trick.Out of a couple options, including the regular T Knox Arc Twins, and the kinda crazy C-Drive fins - I opted for the Wolverine Twins. These has slightly more rake than their little brother the Arcs, and the back trailer is 1/2 inch further set back than the Arc trailer. So, in theory, better for bigger waves. But I didn't have the best of luck with the Wolverines in the Revo Max - so I wasn't too sure. @ThomyeSurfs though has been saying he loves the Wolverine's in his Cado (I think) and he does no wrong and always knows best.Watch in real time (sort of) as I test drive the T Knox Wolverine Twin Fins in the Firewire Machadocado on a few recent, sometimes larger surf sessions - and how they ultimately went. I also have a short segment on what 'rake' truly is for surf fins - as it can be kinda confusing. Shoutout to the NVS crew for really explaining it to me - after all these years, I think I finally get it (kinda..lol). Using the same general outline as his standard twin but by increasing the rake on the fronts and the moving the stabilizer back 1/2", these will have more hold and control in bigger surf. These will also work well on your standard thruster or a twin that feels a little too loose.Taylor's Arc Series Twins have wide bases, are relatively upright and utilize a hatchet style tip. These design characteristics bring balance to the template. You can expect these twins to be speed generating, offering down the line drive from the take off and through turns. The hatchet style tip will ensure that you can carve and stay on rail through the fullness of your turns. You won't have to baby your board through the last 1/3 of turns; these fins will help you stay locked in; allowing for more fluid, graceful surfing.Base: 5.04”Height: 5.55”Area: 21.18 in²Rake: 37.5°Foil: FlatMaterial: G10 StabilizerBase: 3.78"Height: 3.68"Area: 10.15 in²Rake: 29.0°Foil: 50/50Material: G10As an Avantlink, Cleanline Surf & NVS Associate, I earn commission from qualifying purchases on the links in the description.#twinfin #nvs #taylorknox #tknoxwolverine #wolverinetwinfins #taylorknoxtwinfins #nakedvikingsurf #surffins #rakedfins #firewiremachadocado #cado #machadocado #surfboards #surf #cleanlinesurf

We continue to partner with Bros Liquor in Davis, California to bring you some excellent barrel picks. In this short, Kenny and Jason taste and review two Mash Up Barrel picks that are currently available for purchase from Bros Liquor. The two bottles are Old Forester 100 proof (black label) and a Four Roses OBSO Barrel Strength. In addition to these two, they also taste a Knob Creek Barrel pick that was done by our friend Rare Bird 101 (David Jennings). So, if you want to hear about some barrel picks that you can still obtain, this show is for you. Spoiler alert -- with Anthony and Steven out of town, the intro was anything but smooth. Jason gave it the good ole college try. --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

wash lines, and why the UCI is suddenly policing your jersey pockets and screen size. This week on the Velo Podcast, it's lonely! I was away doing an interview, and Mike Levy is out in the wilderness doing a big ride. That left just Logan Jones-Wilkins and Lisa Charlebois to cover the week's topics. Episode Breakdown: 00:00 - Unbound Aftermath & Press Camp Prep: The pair starts off discussing Charlebois getting ready for her first press camp. She has questions about how to handle it, but she also asks Jones-Wilkins if he has recovered from Unbound and what happens after the finish line when the cameras stop. He details the reality of the endless queues for the Muc-Off bike wash, the decompression in the pro tent, and the sheer volume of mud that riders had to scrape off just to feel human again. 05:27 - Shimano GRX Long-Term Review: Gravel continues to be the focal point of the episode. If you've been following the drivetrain wars, you know SRAM has seemingly cornered the gravel market. Jones-Wilkins decides to zig when others zag, breaking down his custom mashup—pairing an XTR rear mech with GRX levers—and explaining why Shimano is actually winning the gravel race when it comes to raw shifting speed, cassette range, and the long-term cost of consumable parts. It is a deep dive into why 12 speeds might just beat 13, and why a brand doesn't always need to reinvent the wheel to stay on top. 40:34 - The UCI's New Tech Regulations: The gravel wars are free from the UCI, but once again, the team had to talk about another head-shaking UCI decision. The UCI recently rolled out new tech regulations, including a cap on computer screen sizes, conveniently set exactly 1mm larger than the massive Wahoo Ace. They also introduced a ban on carrying nutrition in front jersey pockets. Logan and Lisa debate whether this is a genuine safety measure to reduce cognitive load or just another instance of the UCI over-regulating tech while ignoring course safety. 51:30 - Ultra-Racing Updates: Finally, the duo wraps up with a nod to the ultra-endurance world, dot-watching Lael Wilcox as she sets off on her Around the World Record attempt, and tracking Dr. Sarah Ruggins on her massive push across the European divide.
