Piše Miša Gams, bereta Mateja Perpar in Igor Velše. V romanu Sergeja Curanovića Dete iz gozda sledimo protagonistu, ki prispe v skrivnostno vas, v kateri naj bi prevzel podedovano družinsko hišo. Med čakanjem na ustrezne papirje se zaplete z domačinko, s katero ugotovita, da sta prek prednikov veliko bolj povezana, kot se zdi na prvi pogled. Moški namreč v hiši odkrije dnevnika, ki sta ju pisala njegov pradedek in lokalni profesor, ki naj bi po netipični “spolni” združitvi s hrastom spočel dete, nato pa umrl v sumljivih okoliščinah. Pradedek je tako nadaljeval zapise o razvoju otroka na drevesu – s katerim se je kasneje poročil – in zapisoval faze olesenitve otroka. Ta postaja iz dneva v dan bolj podoben ženski, ki jo zavoljo svojih egoističnih potreb želi izrezati iz drevesa: “Odrezal sem še zadnjo vejo, ki sem jo lahko dosegel z odra. Ali njen upor ne popušča. Predno začnem, me prosi, naj neham. Ker ne reče nič drugega, mi je jasno, da skozi njo govori drevo. Vprašal sem jo, zakaj se noče ločiti od njega, pa ni znala pojasniti. Zajecljala je, skremžila obraz, a zmogla le iste stavke kot prej. Ko sem pri delu, se zvija kot črv v žerjavici. Prej je hitro izgubljala svest, zdaj vztraja vse dlje. Čez čeljust sem ji prevezal krpo. Njen krik je namreč tako oster, da se skozi zrak in krošnje zarezuje daleč v pokrajino.” Ob branju tovrstnih odlomkov, ki postajajo vse bolj brutalni, se ne moremo znebiti občutka, da pisatelj čedalje bolj personificira naravo in jo primerja z žensko, moškega pa z agresivno falično silo, ki si prilašča gozd in vse njegove prebivalce. Curanović je prvo polovico romana namenil odlomkom iz obeh dnevnikov ter porajajočim se vprašanjem protagonista, ki mu ni jasno, ali gre pri vsej zadevi za šifrirana metaforična sporočila, s katerimi sta prednika želela zavarovati določene osebe, ali za pretežno realno izkušnjo, iz katere je kot potomec nenavadne simbioze nastal tudi sam. V drugem delu romana se zgodba razvije v skorajda nadrealistične, znanstvenofantastične razsežnosti, zlasti ko protagonist ugotovi, da so v vasi bolj ali manj vsi sorodstveno povezani in tako ali drugače odvisni drug od drugega. Ko se v zgodbo pretihotapijo še motivi bežečih migrantov, njihovih gozdnih zaveznikov Nemih, izgubljenih otrok in nesposobnih policistov, se pripoved zasuka v smer komične detektivke, pri kateri bralec in bralka le s težavo ohranjata rdečo nit in širši pregled nad dogajanjem. Deloma zato, ker Curanović za svoje like navaja le začetnice, deloma pa zato, ker poleg glavnega protagonista v nekem trenutku vznikne množica junakov in junakinj, ki so bodisi njegovi otroci bodisi so z njim v bližnjem ali daljnem sorodstvu. V romanu Dete iz gozda torej prevladujeta dve paradigmi – na eni strani je poganski oz. staroverski svet, v katerem prevladujejo drevesa s svojo materinsko naravo hranjenja, negovanja, varovanja in verovanja, na drugi pa znanstvena doktrina nasilnega prodiranja in sistematičnega naseljevanja genov v prostor, ki se iz miroljubnega kraja spremeni v bitko vseh proti vsem. Protagonist, ki mu ves čas ne izvemo imena, je neposredno vpet v eksperiment prenašanja svojih genov po svetu, ob tem pa mu usoda “postreže” z otroki, ki niso plod njegovega semena in ki se hranijo z želodovim pirejem. Po drugi strani so ženske osebe – s protagonistovo materjo vred – v enaki meri prostitutke, raziskovalke in aktivistke, ki se bojujejo za ohranitev narave in za dostojno vzgojo otrok, občasno pa v svojih barakah skrivajo migrante in Neme, ki se kot svojevrstni duhovi z zašiljenimi zobmi zoperstavljajo policistom. Čeprav protagonist ves čas kuje načrt o pobegu – tako iz vasi kot iz utesnjujočih odnosov z ženskami in otroki – se na koncu vendarle odloči, da bo družinsko hišo zapustil otrokoma, ki nista njegova, a sta na nek način “prišla iz gozda”, v katerem se je s smrtjo profesorja celotna odisejada že nekaj desetletij pred tem tudi začela. Podobno kot že prej v kratkoprozni zbirki Plavalec tudi v romanu Dete iz gozda ni jasno, kateri segmenti zgodbe naj bi bili resnični in kateri fiktivni. Lahko bi rekli, da gre Curanoviću predvsem za prikaz relativnosti in subjektivnosti tako v znanstveni kot v alegorični različici. V končni fazi je nauk zgodbe ta, da ni pomembno, ali se je stvar v resnici zgodila niti ali so nastopajoči v zgodbi res protagonistovi potomci oz. sorodniki ali ne. Nauk zgodbe je v tem, da moramo stopiti čez egoistične potrebe in sprejeti drugega v njegovi drugačnosti – ne glede na to ali gre za tako imenovano kukavičje jajce, migranta ali za svojevrstno “hibridno” bitje, kateremu ni mogoče določiti spola. Dete iz gozda, ki raste delno v deblu, delno v veji, je namreč vsaj na začetku nekakšen hermafrodit oziroma brezspolno bitje, ki je v celoti prežeto z drevesom: “Za to dete pa ne morem reči, ali je žensko ali moško. Spolovilo, če ga ima, je skrito v deblu, obraz pa je tako dvoumen, da se mi vsakič dozdeva drugače. Danes sem si ob prihodu rekel, da je najbrž pob, ko je zaspalo, pa sem pomislil, da ima tak zal obraz lahko samo deklica. Ob odhodu sem pomislil, da je morda brez spola ali da v sebi združuje oba.” Iz zapisanega bi lahko povlekli zaključek, da je roman Dete iz gozda predvsem parabola o tem, kam nas lahko prižene nasilje nad drugimi bitji, in obenem ironičen prikaz samodestruktivnosti, v katero zapademo, če politično-znanstvene paradigme ne nadgradimo s čuječnostjo in če bitke med spoloma ne prizemljimo v nekom tretjem, za katerega ne poznamo ne spola ne pravega izvora spočetja.

1998 bestiegen Francys Distefano-Arsentiev und ihr Mann Sergej den Mount Everest über die Nordroute. Ihr Ziel: Francys sollte als erste US-Amerikanerin ohne zusätzlichen Sauerstoff den Gipfel erreichen. Am 22. Mai standen sie tatsächlich ganz oben. Doch der Abstieg endete in einer Tragödie. Mehrfach trafen andere Bergsteiger auf Francys, doch eine Rettung war nicht möglich. Sie starb nach Tagen in der Todeszone und ging als „Sleeping Beauty“ in die Geschichte ein. Von den Besten der Besten hat es nur ein Mann in den dritten und vierten Teil der Actionfilm-Reihe geschafft, nämlich der von Phillip Rhee gespielte Tommy Lee. Mit der verschlankten Mannschaft veränderte sich auch der Fokus der Filme, statt Training und Martial-Arts-Turnieren steht nun satte Knarren-und-Handkanten-Action im Mittelpunkt. Die Neuveröffentlichung von "Red Dawn" auf UHD beflügelte Martin, dem von ihm vielgehassten, kontroversen Kalten-Kriegs-Klassiker (ui, was für ne Alliteration) von 1984 eine erneute Chance zu geben, und siehe da, mit der neuen Bildqualität folgte auch eine zumindest etwas neue Perspektive, die nach einer Diskussion und inhaltlichen Auseinandersetzung verlangte. Sergej zeigte sich willig, auch der Begleitfilm, der australische "Tomorrow, When The War Began" von 2010 wurde akzeptiert. Das Streitgespräch war intensiv, aber unterhaltsam, was sich hoffentlich auch auf das Hörvergnügen bei dieser Folge auswirkt. Viel Spaß! In this episode, we sit with security leader and venture investor Sergej Epp to discuss the Cloud-native Security Landscape. Sergj points out that while attackers have stayed consistent, organizations have and continue to make improvements to their securitySergj elaborated on his current role as Sysdig's internal CISO and his prior role as a field CISO and the differences between the two roles in terms of how you interact with your organization, customers, and the community.We unpacked the need for automated Incident Response, touching on how modern cloud-native attacks can happen in as little as 10 minutes and how organizations can and do struggle without sufficient visibility and the ability to automate their incident response.The report points out that machine identities, or Non-Human Identities (NHI), are 7.5 times riskier than human identities and that there are 40,000 times more of them to manage. This is a massive problem and gap for the industry, and Sergj and I walked through why this is a challenge and its potential risks.Vulnerability prioritization continues to be crucial, with the latest Sysdig report showing that just 6% of vulnerabilities are “in-use”, or reachable. Still, container bloat has ballooned, quintupling in the last year alone. This presents real problems as organizations continue to expand their attack surface with expanded open-source usage but struggle to determine what vulnerabilities truly present risks and need to be addressed.We covered the challenges with compliance, as organizations wrestle with multiple disparate compliance frameworks, and how compliance can drive better security but also can have inverse impacts when written poorly or not keeping pace with technologies and threats.We rounded out the conversation with discussing AI/ML packages and the fact they have grown by 500% when it comes to usage, but organizations have decreased public exposure of AI/ML workloads by 38% since the year prior, showing some improvements are being made to safeguarding AI workloads from risks as well.
