Chris talks with Chris Halicke of DKPittsburghSports.com about Sunday's New England-Pittsburgh showdown. Where are the Steelers' weaknesses? How can the Patriots take advantage? Will weather play a role on Sunday? All that and more. • How has Aaron Rodgers looked? • Should the Patriots be watching old Rodgers' film, vintage Packers' stuff when Mike McCarthy and Rodgers were together in Green Bay, or something else? • What's the latest on Joey Porter Jr.? How would his absence change what Pittsburgh wants to get done defensively? • Last year's Patriots-Steelers game was a heavy Hunter Henry contest. Could we see that again on Sunday? • Is there a Pittsburgh player who is an under-the-radar possibility to break through Sunday against New England? ...and more. • Patrick Graham beat the Patriots last year when he was the DC of the Raiders. September 16, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 23 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing a few things that Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy had to say during his Monday press conference. McCarthy was asked quite a few questions about the status of CB Joey Porter Jr. moving forward so we mostly focus on that part of his Monday press conference. The Steelers brought in two free agent tackles for visits on Tuesday, so we make sure to hit that bit of minor news early in this show. We also discuss what we think the overall health outlook is for the Steelers heading into Week 2. In the middle of this show, Alex and I get into talking about what the all-22 tape from the Steelers Week 1 win against the Atalanta Falcons revealed to both of us. We start on the defensive side of the football with our tape review and discuss the outstanding play of ILB Payton Wilson against the Falcons in addition to several other players on that unit that stuck out in positive ways. The Steelers had three outside linebackers on the field for quite a few plays against the Falcons and because of that, Alex breaks down when they snaps came and likely why we saw those personal groupings as often as we did. After finishing our tape reviews of the defense, Alex and I turn our collective attention to what we saw and learned about the Steelers offense against the Falcons. We focus on the overall play of the offensive line, both in the running game and passing game, and then move on from there. We talk a little about what we saw from Steelers WR Roman Wilson in Week 1 and how QB Aaron Rodgers attempted to push the football down the field against the Falcons on Sunday. Why there were several positives to takeaways from the Steelers offensive performance in Week 1, the advanced analytics in all the main categories still need to get better moving into the team's Week 2 game against the New England Patriots. Alex and I go over a few quick thoughts about the Steelers' special teams play against the Falcons as we begin to wrap up this episode. This 71-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. It doesn't matter who you are — your rank still matters.Ern & Iso kick this episode off with Aaron Rodgers' story about a former fiancée and the uncomfortable reality behind it: money, fame, success and status don't automatically make you somebody's first choice. That opens the door to a much bigger conversation about modern dating. Are people paying too much attention to what men and women claim they want online instead of watching how they actually behave? If somebody genuinely likes you, do all those dating “requirements” suddenly become negotiable? The guys then connect relationships to an even bigger shift happening in society. The traditional American Dream promised people a career, a home, a family and something worth working toward — but what happens when the next generation no longer believes that deal works for them? With streaming, entrepreneurship and alternative ways of making money, is the era of simply punching a clock for 40 years beginning to lose its appeal? And if everything else about modern life has changed, Ern & Iso ask the controversial question: Why do we expect relationships to stay exactly the same? From attraction and “ranking” to the working man, the soft life, traditional roles, open relationships, honesty and what people REALLY want from their partners, this episode turns into one of those classic Ern & Iso conversations where one topic leads to another — and somehow it all comes back together. What matters more in a relationship: what someone can provide, or where they genuinely rank in your heart?Listen, share, and join the conversation.Ern & Iso Podcast — perspective, conversation, and the discussions everybody else is afraid to have.
FOOTBAHLIN MERCH:https://footbahlin-with-ben-roethlisberger.clockwise.io/productsThat toe-tap touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII is burned into NFL history, but the real story lives in the details nobody sees. We sit down with my teammate and brother Santonio Holmes for the first time ever to walk through what led to that catch, what he's thinking before the snap, and how years of offseason corner-route reps turned into six points on the biggest stage in football. Before we rewind to Tampa, we start with the present. The Steelers are 1-0, and we break down what the Week 1 win tells us about the offense with Aaron Rodgers: protection questions, a run game that has to grow up fast, third-down struggles, and why drops and penalties from receivers can be a Week 1 symptom of limited preseason game speed. We also talk scheme, including why empty formations can help Rodgers diagnose pressure and get the ball out, and where the risk shows up when the offensive line is under stress. Then we give the defense its moment. TJ Watt changes the game with a pick-six, and we talk about the mindset and technique that separates great defenders from everyone else, plus a key coverage play that shows veteran discipline and avoids a pass interference flag. We even end with The Footbahlin Family Dinner sponsored by Giant Eagle where we share some off-field stories, including how Jerry Rice personally taught Santonio Holmes the basics of golf.If you love Steelers football, NFL film-room details, and the real anatomy of a clutch moment, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review. What's the greatest catch you've ever seen, and does this one still hold the top spot?

September 14, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday to open their 2026 regular season. Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of their first regular season game in addition to going over the six players that were inactive for that contest, one of which was CB Joey Porter Jr. As we get into recapping the Steelers' win over the Falcons, we start by talking quite a bit about the play of the team's defense. We go over the amazing play of OLB T.J. Watt on Sunday in addition to discussing several snap counts on that side of the football. Several defensive players had strong showings against the Falcons on Sunday, so we make sure to note each one. We also discuss how poorly Falcons QB Cooper Rush played on Sunday and how most of Atlanta's success on offense came via RB Bijan Robinson. After thoroughly breaking down several aspects of Pittsburgh's defensive play from Sunday, Alex and I then do the same for the offense. We note how QB Aaron Rodgers pushed the football down the field with more regularity and how a key third down passing play to TE Darnell Washington effectively secured a win. We talk about the running game and how it came alive late in the game. When we're finished talking about several things related to the offense, Alex and I move on to break down Pittsburgh's play on special teams against the Falcons. Once we are done breaking down the Steelers Sunday win against the Falcons, Alex and I discuss the team being unable to sign Porter to a contract extension prior to the game getting underway. We discuss what the immediate future might be when it comes to Porter and that includes us discussing the possibility that he could ultimately wind up being traded by this year's deadline. This 93-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners.
