Tottenham's summer 2025 transfer window was full of peaks and troughs, ending with a squad that feels reshaped and refreshed. The arrivals of Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Kōta Takai, Mohammed Kudus, João Palhinha, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani addressed key areas, though questions remain about depth at centre-back and the absence of a true left winger. Kudus looks ready to make an immediate impact, Simons is viewed as a special talent, and Palhinha adds vital steel. Luka Vuskovic's loan shows maturity, while Daniel Levy's role in the window is still debated. Spurs now look positioned for a top-five challenge. Learn more about your ad choices. LIVE at 8:30PM – Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Window Review
Journalists Tom Allnutt and George Sessions discuss Tottenham Hotspur's deadline-day loan for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain and assess Spurs' transfer window as a whole. After landing Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha, Xavi Simons and Muani, have the club learnt from last summer when they were a little over-reliant on youth?

We're only three games in, Bournemouth are repeating the same process that served them so well last season, with statement signings and superb score-lines. The last three days has seen AFC Bournemouth "cruise" to a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, before subsequently signing TWO new recruits by the way of Álex Jiménez and Veljko Milosavljević - a demonstration of the club's ability and vision to "always advance & never retreat". In this podcast, Sam and Tom discuss the weekend's victory over Spurs, ponder the state of the squad, and look at which Cherries personnel could make this period of time even sweeter by signing a contract extension! Jack is joined by Iain from Poddenham Podspur to make sense of Tottenham's first Premier League defeat under new boss Thomas Frank. Did the manager get it wrong? Maybe so, but with Spurs still at the very beginning of this journey and basking in the glow of a European trophy, there's little reason for panic. The conversation turns to new arrival Xavi Simons, what makes him such an exciting signing, and how his interviews reveal a mature young player ready to carry on the legacy of Son Heung-min's number 7 shirt. Jack and Iain also look ahead to transfer deadline day. Who Spurs need, who they'd like to see, and what it all means for the season ahead. Finally, Iain talks about his own project, Poddenham Podspur – a podcast about Spurs podcasts. What began as a tongue-in-cheek idea has grown into something far more meaningful. The show's theme is Ghost Cat by Gillen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
On this episode, Patrick and Ted breakdown an INSANE deadline day and cover the action from the past weekend. Liverpool defeated Arsenal, 1-0, but have they done it off the field with a £130 million deal to sign Alexander Isak? Did they win the transfer window? On the other hand, Manchester City lost to Brighton, 2-1, but have they made a mistake this summer? Spurs lost to Bournemouth, Villa are losing to everyone, and Everton are making things work somehow? Plus Nicolas Jackson, Randall Kolo Muani, have teams finally figured out Pep, Woltemade and Wissa to Newcastle and so much more! Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jonathan Hamme, TJ Ramini and Patrick Tyrant as our unbeaten start to the Premier League season came to a disappointing end on Saturday afternoon as Bournemouth's early goal was enough to secure them all three points. Having kept back-to-back clean sheets in our opening two victories, we conceded just five minutes in at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Evanilson's deflected effort finding the back of the net. Had it not been for the outstanding performance of Guglielmo Vicario, it would have been an even heavier defeat as the Italy international made a string of excellent saves to prevent Bournemouth extending their lead. It wasn't until the closing stages that we put any pressure on the Cherries' defence but managed just one shot on target throughout the match as we suffered a frustrating defeat. Send us a textWhat makes a true cowboy? It goes far beyond the iconic hat and weathered expression – it lives in the worn leather of a saddle that's witnessed countless sunsets and the rhythmic jingle of spurs that speak their own language. In this captivating conversation, author Michael King joins us to discuss his new book "A Cowboy's Tale of Words: The Meaning of Saddles and Spurs," which explores the soul of the American West through its most iconic tools and terminology. King, whose fascination with etymology began in graduate school, has crafted a unique blend of historical research, creative storytelling, and linguistic exploration that brings the authentic cowboy experience to life. The highlight of our discussion centers on the fascinating etymology of "buckaroo" – primarily derived from the Spanish "vaquero" but potentially influenced by the Gullah-Geechee culture's term "bukhra." This multicultural linguistic heritage mirrors the diverse influences that shaped frontier life itself. King's book captures this complexity through meticulously researched fictional narratives that transport readers to specific moments in cowboy history, like the spring branding of 1874, complete with historically accurate details about everything from local flora to period-specific slang. For anyone who's ever felt the call of the open range or wondered about the deeper significance behind cowboy culture, this conversation offers fresh insights into a defining chapter of American history. Grab your copy of "A Cowboy's Tale of Words" through the link in our description, and don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more explorations of the Wild West's enduring legacy. What a week in the Premier League, so much action to discuss, this could be a long stream - strap in folks! Loads of FPL discussion to be hard too, with Joao Pedro owners happy with the points, but not with Enzo taking the penalty. Bruno scores his this week, to the delight of his owners, but leaves it late. Liverpool edge pass Arsenal with a rocket from Szoboszlai and West Ham cause an upset at Forest, in a result no-one saw coming! **Sorry for the disruption on tonight's Pod - Sam's ok, but really felt very unwell during the live stream. She's told me it definitely wasn't because we were about to talk about Spurs!*** Phew! Take a breath. It's time for an International Break.
