(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Canadian Parliament passes anti-Bible bill Sadly, Canada's Parliament passed the anti-Bible bill. LifeSiteNews.com reports that a final attempt to stop Bill C-9 was defeated. The bill, which threatens to criminalize quoting parts of the Bible, including on homosexuality, will soon become law. On Wednesday, June 17, a majority of Members of Parliament voted down an attempt by conservative Andrew Lawton to stop Bill C-9 “once and for all.” In an X post, he wrote, that the liberals “voted down my motion to withdraw the divisive and toxic Bill C-9 to stand up for freedom of expression and freedom of religion.”  Another conservative Member of Parliament, Brad Redekopp, called the official passage of Bill C-9 a “dark day” for Canada and religious freedom. The bill was introduced by Justice Minister Sean Fraser last year. Specifically, Bill C-9 would remove Section 319(3)(b) of Canada's Criminal Code.  That's the section which protects the good-faith expression of a person's religious views based on religious texts such as the Holy Bible. Galatians 6:7 declares, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.” Proof that Fauci funded lab research that sparked COVID A trove of communications and documents released by outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard show that Dr. Anthony Fauci “provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research” on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and that Fauci “lied to Congress,” reports LifeSiteNews.com. In a viral overnight social media video on June 19th already seen by millions, Gabbard made this announcement. GOP Senator: Trump's peace deal with Iran seemed elusive Appearing on Fox News Channel on June 17th, Republican Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, expressed his approval of the deal that President Donald Trump negotiated with Iran, reports RealClearPolitics.com. SCHMITT:  “The president of the United States, President Trump, was very clear from the get-go what the mission here was, which was to ensure that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. They have no ability to do that. And they're signing on the dotted line now, Sean, for the first time, that they're not going to do that. “And we don't need to trust them. We just need to verify that. Effectively, the president knocked out their military capability. Their Navy is at the bottom of the sea. They have no air defense. Their nuclear program is in shambles. It's nowhere near ever being started up again. And we can always go back and mow the lawn, if necessary, because we've got eyes on it. “The president has provided now, through all of that action, space for diplomacy. That has always been his North Star. There's always more things to do. We need to make sure, obviously, we're verifying all of this. But the president has pulled off something here that most experts, six months ago, wouldn't have thought was possible. And I think it's good for the American people.” FBI foiled terrorist plot against UFC 250 event at White House A terror plot targeting the Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House on June 14th reportedly involved those who were ready to deploy snipers and drones armed with explosives to carry out a mass casualty attack against U.S. government officials. In a June 16th statement, FBI Director Kash Patel said his agency and its law enforcement partners became aware of the potential threat on June 10. He confirmed that authorities stopped the alleged plot before it began. Patel said, "Thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold. “We are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens — particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight" which drew 85,000 people to the Ellipse. James Talarico: God is non-binary; Jesus does not call us to worship Him And finally, James Talarico, the Texas Democrat candidate in the U.S. Senate race against Republican Ken Paxton, has made some bizarre claims about God and Jesus. Listen. TALARICO:  “God is both masculine and feminine, and everything in between. God is non-binary.” And here's what Talarico said about Jesus. TALARICO: “Not once in the entire Bible does Jesus ask us to worship Him. All He asks is that we follow Him.” Pastor Josh Howerton, Senior Pastor of Lakepointe Church in Dallas, Texas, called James Talarico a heretic. HOWERTON: “The whole last book of the Bible is the Lamb is seated on the throne with more people than anybody can count bowing down and worshiping Him, throwing crowns before Him. And then anybody who won't do that, He's throwing them into the lake of fire. “This is not me being mean or exaggerating: he's an actual heretic, like a biblically-defined false teacher and heretic. “Politicians, since the beginning of time, have been twisting Scripture, using Scripture to try to convince people to do what they want. It is my pleasure to welcome to Necronomicast, Rachel McCarthy James!  A native of Kansas, she is the daughter of baseball's Bill James and artist Susan McCarthy. At Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, she studied political science and creative writing. Her first book, The Man from the Train (coauthored with her father) chronicled the serial killer behind the Villisca axe murders. Published in 2017, The Man from the Train was nominated for an Edgar award for best fact crime, and won the Kansas Notable Book award. Her newest book, Whack Job, is the story of the axe, first as a convenient danger and then an anachronism, as told through the murders it has been employed in throughout history: from the first axe murder nearly half a million years ago, to the brutal harnessing of the axe in warfare, to its use in King Henry VIII's favorite method of execution, to Lizzie Borden and the birth of modern pop culture. Whack Job sheds brilliant light on this familiar implement, this most human of weapons. His Game Score was an amazing 96. Anything over 80 is special and a 100 is nearly unattainable. It's a great way to evaluate starting pitchers and you will be hearing more about it even though Bill James came up with it years ago. #Braves Ronald Acuna came back with a bomb on Friday hitting a home run on the first pitch he saw! Then he hit another on Saturday. We talk about being 1/3 of the way through the 2025 #MLB season and how stats might project out if the current rates are maintained. Will #Mariners Cal Raleigh hit 51 home runs? Probably not but it's fun to think about what could happen.  All the divisions are covered and we're still doubting #Cardinals and #Phillies. Much like the wheel, the boat, and the telephone, the axe is a transformative piece of technology―one that has been with us since prehistory. And just as early humans used the axe to chop down trees, hunt for food, and whittle tools, they also used it to murder. Over time, this particular use has endured: as the axe evolved over centuries to fit the needs of new agricultural, architectural, and social development, so have our lethal uses for it. Things Discussed: Pre-show Tiger Talk: The trick is blowing out arms and managing your pitching staff. Tigers lost 4/5 starters from their expected rotation so they had to do the Bill James thing and do away with them. The way: counter the top of the order with a reliever, have your "starter" pitch 1.5 times through the lineup, go to your bullpen when you get back to the top of the order so the best hitters are never seeing the same pitcher twice. What a year: Tigers, Lions, and Michigan won playoff games in 2024 and the Wings and Pistons did not. Washington slip-ups: What can you fix, what can you not? Time to replace Evan Link—Persi is fine. Gonna go with Tuttle; that won't be a panacea but apparently they were preparing for him all along. Get Jyaire Hill some cleats. Defensively what's the problem? On standard downs they're elite, on passing downs they get too creative, and they're creating busts. Zeke Berry is not Mike Sainristil. You don't play Jyaire Hill like he's Aamir Hall: have him roll up and play some man. Makari Paige: he's a senior but he's not a Peppers who can line up at the LB level and run with Giles Jackson. Mitigating factors: Minter and Mac had long ramp-ups not Texas, USC and @Washington in their first three games. Wink came in thinking he gets to run an NFL defense and he's not used to playing with guys who have major holes in their games. Similarity to early Mac defenses: It wasn't until Week 8 that they could adjust to tempo (and even then they got caught in late changes). Macdonald came in running weird stuff and then learned to trust his best players. Evan Link: Brian still has him grading out terribly, Craig thought he's been better. Sam thinks Persi deserves a shot to start at RT. The "HOT coverage"—coach Twitter can come up with some reason it makes sense, but if you're running something you can't run that's on the coaches. Also it was tempo and Guy didn't know what was happening. Wink dialed it back for Arkansas State and Minnesota, but when he's under pressure he reverts to his weird stuff. Gotta know you don't have to be the answer; you can let your guys be the answer. Last offseason was a failure. This offseason is going to make or break this staff. Tuttle is not going to fix everything. He had a two-man route and a "you gotta throw that" to Amorion Walker in single coverage and didn't pull the trigger, then fumbled. His interception was way behind his target. Washington was slipping too. But when they fell over it's just because they suck at this. Did they not water the turf? I had the opportunity to speak with Bobby Fijan today, who sometimes refers to himself as the Bill James of floorplans.  His focus?  Building apartments for families – and helping others do it too.  He's a developer, entrepreneur and consultant.   We discuss the lack of family-friendly apartment buildings and the impact on loneliness and community, and how we need to make cities and apartment buildings more family friendly.  We touch on the importance of amenities and spaces that are suitable for children, how floorplans make having even one young child very uncomfortable (thereby incentivizing people to move out), and how to make your next apartment or multi-family project more suitable for families and dynamic living conditions.  Check it out!
