Target Market Insights: Multifamily Real Estate Marketing Tips
Bobby Casey is an international tax strategist and lifelong entrepreneur. He is the founder of Business Anywhere and a managing partner of Global Wealth Protection, helping entrepreneurs legally reduce taxes, protect assets, and run borderless businesses. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, Bobby started his first company at 19 and went on to build and sell several businesses, including a restaurant, a real estate company, and an installation company that served Fortune 500 clients. After hiring a specialist to handle his own asset protection and company structuring, he became fascinated with the work and turned it into Global Wealth Protection. Business Anywhere grew out of that consulting practice as a platform to automate company formation, compliance, and renewals. Today Bobby works with entrepreneurs and investors around the world, many of them location independent, and lives across multiple countries himself. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Never register your own LLC; a commercial registered agent keeps your name and home address out of public record Build asset protection in layers, starting with privacy, then legal structures like LLCs, trusts, and foundations Match your spend on planning to the assets at risk, because going cheap upfront can cost far more later Use AI and online research to prepare, then validate every decision with a qualified professional Diversify your income streams so no single client or channel can sink the business Topics From Corporate Installs to Working Only With Entrepreneurs Bobby started his first company at 19 and later sold a restaurant, a real estate business, and an installation company Tired of serving large corporate clients, he chose to work exclusively with entrepreneurs How Business Anywhere Was Born After automating company renewals for his consulting clients, he spun the software into a separate platform Business Anywhere handles formation, registered agents, compliance, banking, and payment processing online Roughly half of its clients are non US persons, from a NJ plumber to a Canadian investor with US property living in Mexico The Case Against DIY LLCs Filing your own LLC forces your name and home address into public record for anyone to find A missed service of process notice can get your LLC revoked Two Florida Lawsuits, Two Outcomes A client shielded by a registered agent ignored a frivolous class action and it disappeared A client who filed his own LLC was served personally and settled for around $800,000 Asset Protection as Layers Bobby compares protection to a castle's moat, walls, and drawbridge More assets demand more layers, from privacy to trusts and foundations The Real Mistake Is Being Cheap AI tools and forums give narrow answers because they lack the full context of your situation A strong CPA or advisor often returns far more than the fee they charge Think of Protection Like Insurance You pay for structure hoping you never need it The cost is trivial against a multimillion dollar judgment

Most solopreneurs spend zero time thinking about taxes until April 14th. Bobby Casey has spent decades thinking about almost nothing else, for his own businesses and for the hundreds of location-independent entrepreneurs he's helped restructure, relocate, and legally stop overpaying.Bobby has lived in 10 countries, started and sold companies across multiple continents, and currently runs two businesses: a high-end consulting practice for entrepreneurs with complex international structures, and Business Anywhere, a platform that automates the compliance and administrative backend of running a business. In this episode, we discuss:His own origin story. A near-fatal motorcycle crash led Bobby to a solo camping trip where he worked out exactly what he wanted his life to look like. The dartboard analogy he came up with that week (lifestyle as the bullseye, business as one of the rings) is one of the clearest articulations of the Life-First Business philosophy we've heard from a guest. The most expensive mistake nomadic solopreneurs make. Bobby shares the story of a Canadian client who spent 10 years outside Canada without restructuring her business, and ended up paying $5 million in taxes she didn't legally owe. The fix existed from day one. She just didn't know to ask.The 183-day myth. Almost everyone in the digital nomad space believes that staying under 183 days in a country keeps you safe. Bobby has read the tax residency laws of roughly 140-150 countries. He says only one actually uses a clean 183-day rule. Every other country has its own criteria, and assuming otherwise is how people get caught. What U.S. solopreneurs can actually do. The Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (Form 2555) allows qualifying Americans abroad to shield up to $130,000 of earned income from federal taxes. Yes, even if your clients are all in the U.S. Bobby explains how it works, who qualifies, and how to maximize it with a spouse. The South Dakota move. One night's stay. A mailing address. And you can move your driver's license and your state tax residency, to a state with zero income tax. Bobby explains why this works for solopreneurs and why it doesn't work for remote employees. This is a rare episode: genuinely practical, not theoretical, from someone who has lived it in 10 countries and helped hundreds of others do the same.Connect with Bobby:Global Wealth Protection: globalwealthprotection.comBusiness Anywhere: businessanywhere.ioLife First. Wealth Strategies and Location-Independent Living
Glen Sutherland interviews Bobby Casey, an American international tax lawyer and “slowmad” who splits his time between North Carolina, Mexico, and Latvia. Bobby explains how his residency lifestyle works in practice, and why Americans are “unicorns” globally: the U.S. taxes citizens on a citizenship basis, meaning Americans still file (and may owe) U.S. taxes even when living abroad—though tools like the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion and foreign tax credits can reduce the hit. The conversation then shifts to Canadians and cross-border tax/residency strategy. Bobby outlines how Canadians can more easily exit Canadian tax residency by minimizing key residential ties (e.g., primary home, spouse, dependent children) and properly filing their departure return—while noting there can be exit-tax considerations and changed tax treatment of property kept behind. He also shares practical notes on living abroad (including why he disliked Belize) and digs into real estate rules for foreigners (e.g., Mexico's restricted zones and use of a fideicomiso). Finally, Bobby explains why a U.S. LLC can be a powerful structure for non-U.S. digital nomads/remote entrepreneurs (depending on “effectively connected income” and where work is performed), and closes by describing his company formation/compliance platform, BusinessAnywhere.io.
Jason from our listener community is stuck in a common entrepreneurial trap—feeling overwhelmed by the administrative demands of maintaining his LLC. Preston Lee and Bobby Casey dive deep into why business structure matters, how to manage compliance without losing your mind, and the critical steps every business owner needs to know about protecting their assets. Bobby Casey, founder of Business Anywhere and an international tax lawyer, breaks down the essential reasons why entrepreneurs should never shy away from proper business structuring. From liability protection to strategic asset management, this episode is your roadmap to understanding the sometimes mundane but critically important world of business administration. I don't want to create hierarchies of favorites, but this is by far the most IMPORTANT episode we have done so far, with world leader Bobby Casey.Money- how did it work and where is it going?Freedom - what does this even mean?THINKING - a foreign concept to many? History- and it's importance,Polarities - and why it is of danger,Nuance and context - the only remedy in life.We discuss current world affairs, we laugh about inappropriate things, we touch on some proper pain points, we emphasize on the CRUCIAL idea of how we need diversity in our surroundings to keep our mind moist and flexible.Subscribe, thank Bobby, like, share, screenshot.Bobby Casey - world leaderThe blog you need in your life- https://globalwealthprotection.com/The IG you need to follow - https://www.instagram.com/globalwealthprotection/The partner you need to business up with - http://businessanywhere.io?afmc=DemonQueenHost:https://www.meetmeatthebank.com/https://www.meetmeatthebank.com/domme/https://www.meetmeatthebank.com/domme/https://www.instagram.com/baraqueenbee/https://www.facebook.com/BaraQueenbee13/Support the show

Recently, I posed this question to some of my prior guests, “How would you advise a young person to reduce risk in their life?” The answers rolled in from 40 guests! I grouped the responses into five categories: Building valuable relationships, managing finances, personal growth, risk management, and having awareness. There are tremendous pearls of wisdom! I heard an eight-year-old kid tell another eight-year-old that he's not welcome in his home. He said "Trump or Clinton?" "Clinton." And that was that. They kept walking. Kept debating and I bet nothing happened. I bet they're still friends. Some people are either all talk or afraid. Or both. I try not to be either. I try to listen, come up with ideas, and be grateful. Because if I listen, I learn. And then I can say two sweet words, "thank you." How many people said, "If Trump becomes president, I'm leaving the country." Or the other way around? There's only one reason why I'd ever even consider packing. And Bobby Casey spelled it out for me. "Americans don't understand how insanely expensive it is to live in the U.S.," Bobby said on my podcast. He sold everything he owned and left the country in 2009. Right after the market crashed. Now he works all over the world. And helps people get off the grid. I wanted to know how he did it. And why... "I hated my customers," he said. "I hated my employees, I hated my job, I hated my business." "But what made you think you could sell all your belonging and travel the world forever?" "Weren't you scared you would run out of money?" "I just knew I'd work it out," he said. "I'd make some money." I couldn't do it. It's easy to be uncertain when you're level of unknown isn't going to erupt your central nervous system. But Bobby had motivation. "My happiness and my quality of life is much more important than cashing out on a business," he said. "I didn't care. I wanted to be happy again." So he got rid of everything. He gave away motorcycles. (He had 27). Then he bought two one-way tickets to Prague. One for him. And one for his 9 year old son. "We'd never been there." The rest of his family moved a few weeks later. He has three kids. "What about friends? And school?" I asked. "My daughter, she's 20, she's a rapper in London. She did two years of virtual school. And she can make friends anywhere. It's her personality type." His other two kids enrolled with locals. I had 100 questions. "How'd you get the confidence? What type of freelance work did you do?" "How did you make ends meet?" He broke it down for me. And told me all the ways he saves money living abroad. "I did the math on this," he said. "You won't believe this, but I pay $42 a year for a 10,000 euro deductible health insurance plan." Anything after 10,000 euros, he's covered. "I could get airlifted to John Hopkins if I wanted and that would be covered." "You can make about $150,000, tax-free, as an American living abroad." Here's how Bobby explains it on the podcast... If you make $100K (gross) in the U.S, then you're probably netting less than $60K. Abroad, you can make the same $60K (net), live tax-free (if you qualify for the "foreign earned income exclusion"), get a housing allowance, pay $42 a year for health insurance, and basically never feel broke again. I was getting depressed. Because I know I'm not going to move. It's part of being human. Everyone I look up to, Scott Adams, Dan Ariely, Nassim Taleb, they all say the same thing: people are irrational creatures. Even the idea that we're being rational, is irrational. Every time Bobby spoke, I had 10 new questions. I thought I'd never understand. But then he gave me his secret. And it answered all my questions. It was so simple. I couldn't believe it. Bobby and his son were walking around Estonia. They left Prague, bought a house and had no plans. Someone overheard them speaking English. "You're American?" They started talking. "What are you planning to do for your kids for school?" Bobby had no idea. "I have a son who's your son's age. We found a really good school up the hill. There's a meeting tonight for foreigners who want to enroll their kids." That was it. Then Bobby told me his secret..."I...
