Corin Nemec is an American actor, producer, artist, and screenwriter best known for playing the title character in the sitcom Parker Lewis Can't Lose (1990–1993), Jonas Quinn in the science fiction series Stargate SG-1, and Harold Lauder in the miniseries The Stand. What many DON'T know is that he is a life-long graffiti artist fully embracing all elements of hip hop culture - and these days spends a lot of time on varied interests- making him a modern "renaissance man.”I was glad to connect with him for this episode and can't wait for you to learn more about all of his other work outside of acting.
Will and Matt watch and discuss inline skating from 1998 as featured in this sci-fi cop drama from the creator of Prayer of the Roller Boys... What does this have to do with a Christmas Eve release of this podcast? Well, clearly it features Zack Ward (Farkus from A Christmas Story) as Billy Mustard... and that was TOTALLY thought out and not randomized at ALL by us here at '...of the 90's'...BLADE SQUADdir. Ralph Hemeckerstarring: Zack Ward; Joy Bisco; Corin Nemec
Les, Kurt, and Jason watched their first Lifetime movie this Holiday Season, but almost didn't get to talk about it (thanks Mercury in retrograde!) But first, Jason had a onesie party, and Les got a Magic Bullet while Jason got a Jesus Ouija board! Plus, someone from Les' church listens to our podcast, so they'll be happy to know that Tokyo Toni was stirring up drama in Kurt's Black Chyna Report, and Eric Roberts is stirring up drama in people's travel plans! Then, it's time to enter the kitchen for Lifetime's Make or Bake Christmas. Even with Vivica A. Fox, Jackee Harry, Meredith Thomas, Caryn Richmond, and Corin Nemec, this movie is unhinged in the expectation that the people in this movie should have any business running a business. But when you're a seasonal floater whose mom is excited that you're doing espionage, it's not exactly like you've had anyone setting good examples in your life. Corin Nemec has had a professional acting career since he was a child. He is best known for his roles in "Place of Bones," "Parker Lewis Can't Lose," "I Know My First Name Is Steven," "Beverly Hills 90210," "Webster," "The Stand," "Stargate SG-1," and countless other movies and TV shows. He is also an accomplished screenwriter and graffiti artist.
While the actor has been working steadily both before and after this 90s FOX show I loved (I got yelled at by a lot of Stargate fans for not bringing up that show), I bother Corin about "Parker Lewis," hanging with "Terry," and being inspired by "The Goonies." We also talk about his two latest films, "Place of Bones" and "I Feel Fine."
For Episode 198 of Find Your Film, I interview "Place of Bones" actor Corin Nemec and director Audrey Cummings. Both of them were really enthusiastic about their film and the good news is that the film packs a punch and is really well executed. "Place of Bones," an 1876 Horror-Western, stars Heather Graham, Corin Nemec, Tom Hopper and Brielle Robillard. I loved it so much that I purchased the film on Digital (Apple TV). The feature hit theaters and Digital platforms on August 23, 2024. "Place of Bones" Poster/photos courtest of The Avenue Find Your Film picks: 1. Catch Heather Graham in the 2012 drama "At Any Price." 2. Watch Corin Nemec's previous Western "Dead Man's Hand" (which he co-wrote). This week Val and Rachel welcome special guest Nita Pom-Pom discuss Parker Lewis Can't Lose, an American teen sitcom that originally aired on Fox from September 1990 to June 1993. It was produced by Clyde Phillips Productions in association with Columbia Pictures Television. During the last season, the series rebranded to Parker Lewis. The series depicts the tribulations of the title character Parker Lewis (played by Corin Nemec), a Santo Domingo High School student, for whom nothing is impossible. It was strongly influenced by the feature film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Hot Topics include: 1.) Immediate Flowers for Algernon digression 2.) Parker Lewis' Max Headroom/Memphis design/ "living-cartoon-like" aesthetic 3.) Memories of Parker Lewis and defying gender stereotypes 4.) Corky, Corin and Joseph Charles 5.) Nita's college journal and connection to Parker Lewis star Maia Brewton 6.) What IS a laserdisc? 7.) Unnecessary vests 8.) Parker's unique fashion style: Early John Fetterman? 9.) Quiz! 10.) Hey Guys! This episode we took a movie recommendation from a listener (shoutout Uncle Frank!). Join us as we watch the 1980 supernatural horror movie, City of the Living Dead. It's an Italian film that that changed its name to The Gates of Hell when it was released in the U.S. Don't worry, no subtitles in this movie....just bad dubbing. Does this movie hold up in 2021? Is it still as scary as Uncle Frank remembers it being? Listen in as we watch the movie and also discuss Bonny's need to constantly rearrange her apartment, Mike's angry return his trip to Utah, 180 phone calls to the unemployment office, antiquated bureaucracies, black licorice habit, silent discos, Lifetime movies, Corin Nemec on Parker Lewis Can't Loose, how to pick out a casket, fear of getting buried alive, Spirit Airlines, Charles' protest to his mom going out on a Saturday night and SO MUCH MORE. Does Mike actually barf this episode?? Tune in to find out! Enjoy!

We're checking the Geneva convention rules to see if Odd subjecting Ace to certain movies is a violation of engagement. Until we have confirmation, the movies will continue. In this episode we talk about Odd's adventures Door Dashing, a video game called Wreckfest...where you can race a Sofa that's been suped up and then finally we talk about a movie starring Corin Nemec. It's based on a Source Point Press comic called Rottentail. The movie is a trip and a great addition to any horror collection. Highly stylized to look like a comic panel in every scene. Full of rubber monsters, blood, one liners and gross humor. It's almost like a love letter to all those great off the wall movies from the 80's when pulp horror was King! Our good friend Robert Louis Jr., who was our featured artist last month. This week we bid a fond farewell to Mother A, Hawk, and to Nadine's sanity. This week, we are trying something new with the show. We have put together some audio highlights of our panels at Smallville Con last month. Of course, the highlight of the weekend had to be John hosting Superman himself, actor Dean Cain. Lots of super moments from that panel to look forward to in this week's podcast. In addition, we have some great moments with the panels from Eddie McClintock, Steven WIlliams and Corin Nemec. And before you ask, yes, we also did panels with David Nykl and Mindy Sterling. Unfortunately, the audio quality from those panels was a little rough. By the end of the day, we had figured out the sound system at Smallville, so next year will be even better. Now, we didn't get our Pick 3 selections made yet for new comics coming out next week, but check out social media feeds early next week to get our choices for what you should be picking up at your LCS on July 11. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. Movie Meltdown - Episode 443 This week we return to our coverage of WonderFest as we sit down with actor John Amplas and discuss this week's Sofa Theater feature On the Waterfront. John is not only an actor (and part of many of George Romero’s early productions including Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Knightriders, Creepshow and Day of the Dead) but he has also spent the majority of his life teaching acting. So who better to delve into the acting style of Marlon Brando and the complex director that was Elia Kazan. And while we try to decide which order to place Eva, Marie and Saint we also mention… Daphne & Velma, a Lake Placid marathon, Rule 34, it’s ok to pretend, that alluring mystique, Betty White, working-class people, faux geeks, where American realism became the path for a lot of actors, Karl Malden, Bill Pullman wins, Stanislavski, completely therapeutic, vintage cereal, a lot of those folks came out of what then became the Actor’s Studio… which I’m not sure I’ve ever bought into… as a process, Lee J. Cobb, Martin works… because it was me, Colin Ferguson, it’s about… how do I approach this… how do I best recreate what needs to be created, street justice, young Paul Newman, an opportunity to live a bit of a simpler life, leap across the table and throat punch her immediately, John Schneider, worked in the steel mills in Pittsburgh, primary emotions, a new era of the Pittsburgh Playhouse, Rod Steiger, extraordinary people… regardless of what their profession is… come with eccentricity, Corin Nemec, there’s still some scars from the blacklisting that took place during that time, Cloris Leachman, boxing in the basement, the mob union, going to see a psychoanalyst, the dramatic dynamics of the business, that sugary sludge, did you know science fiction was invented in the 1980’s Sylvester Stallone and Godzilla in a business suit. Spoiler Alert: Spoilers for On the Waterfront... but I mean, you need to see that movie. “That’s what good movies are about… they’re about us.” For more on John, follow him on Twitter: https://twitter.com/JamplasAnd for more on WonderFest, go to: https://wonderfest.com/
