Robert Winfree, Alexis Hejna and Mark Radulich present their Wolf Man 2025 Movie Review!Wolf Man is a 2025 American horror film directed by Leigh Whannell from a screenplay he co-wrote with Corbett Tuck. A reboot of The Wolf Man (1941), the film stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Sam Jaeger. The plot follows a family man seeking to protect his wife and daughter from a werewolf, only to become infected and slowly transform into the creature. Jason Blum produces alongside his Blumhouse Productions banner. The film was announced in 2014 and was to be part of the Dark Universe, a shared cinematic universe centered on the Universal Monsters. Aaron Guzikowski and David Callaham were attached to write the script. After the failure of The Mummy (2017), Universal shifted its focus to standalone films. The success of Whannell's The Invisible Man (2020) rekindled Universal's interest in the Monsters franchise. They accepted a pitch by Ryan Gosling, who was also set to star, for a new Wolf Man film with Derek Cianfrance to direct. However, Cianfrance left the project in 2023 and Gosling dropped out of the role, remaining as executive producer while Whannell took over as director with a new cast. Principal photography occured in New Zealand in early 2024.Wolf Man was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on January 17, 2025. The film received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $16.8 million.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Hey everyone, the latest live-action adaptation of the Mortal Kombat video games has released in theatres all around the globe and on HBO Max (Only U.S.). This review contains my spoiler-free thoughts on the Mortal Kombat movie. Mortal Kombat: Director: Simon McQuoid Producers: James Wan, Todd Garner, Lawrence Kasanoff Screenplay: Greg Russo, Sam Catherine Derek, David Callaham, Drew McWeeny, Scott Swan Cast: Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jessica McNamee, Sisi Stringer, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Ng Chin Han, Max Huang
Mortal Kombat is currently set for release in the US on April 16 in cinemas and on HBO Max (where it will be available for a month). UK fans are also hoping for a streaming release, as HBO Max is only available in the US, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The Mortal Kombat movie is on its way and fans are hyped to see the video game played out on the big screen again. Many have been pleasantly surprised by the teaser, which was recently released, with the clip not shying away from the gore and R-Rated fatalities needed to make it an authentic adaptation. All in all, it looks like a pretty brutal take, with the film set to focus on the original character line-up including Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Lui Kang, Sonya Blade, Shang Tsung, Raiden, and Goro. Joe Taslim will be appearing as Sub-Zero, alongside Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Daniel Nelson as Kabal, and Elissa Cadwell as Nitara. Meanwhile, the film is being helmed by director Simon McQuoid and will be his feature debut, having previously directed adverts. Writer Greg Russo previously urged fans to have faith in the filmmaker, telling them: ‘If anyone has concerns if our director, Simon McQuoid, will stay faithful to MK, I urge you to go back and look at some of the VG commercials he directed. His PS3 “Michael” spot still gets me every time I watch it.' Meanwhile, Greg Russo and David Callaham have written the screenplay. So when we had the idea to do this movie, it was because we joked about June Doom instead of the usual June Gloom. Since recording, the world is now on fire, aside from being infected with a plague. First and foremost, all silliness and antics aside, we hope you are safe. In our own way, we love each of you and truly wish the best for you and your loved ones. Now... onto this terrible movie! Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave). David Callaham wrote the script, and also penned Zombieland Double Tap, the now delayed Wonder Woman 1984, and both Shang Chi and the revamped Mortal Kombat still in development. The film is very loosely based on the DOOM franchise, starring the stoic, brave, and beautiful DOOMGUY. Fun fact, did you know Doomguy was a playable character in Tony Hawk? Also, we discuss the similarities in this movie, Overlord, and Wolfenstein. Another fun fact, they refer to William BJ Blazkowicz from the Wolfenstein games in DOOM: Annihilation. We briefly talk about Annihilation and the writer/ director, Tony Giglio, who also penned Soccer Dog: The Movie. The music was by Clint Mansell and if you haven't heard his score for MOON, dude... reassess your goals. Karl Urban, who played DND on the set of Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel, plays John "Reaper" Grimm. He was also in Lord of the Rings, Dredd, and this lil' franchise called Star Trek you may have heard of. Frustratingly, his costume looks nothing like John Carmack's designs in the 1993 game. Dwayne Johnson (credited as The Rock) plays Asher "Sarge" Mahonin. While he was offered the lead role, he chose this supporting part instead. He, like nearly everyone who's seen it, was not a tremendous fan of the film even taking a jab at it in his 2008 WWE Hall of Fame inductance speech. This week's "Hidden Track" is by a band I have loved since high school (way too long ago); they are DOOM and they are rad. https://ukdoom.bandcamp.com/ If you ever have feedback or recommendations on future episodes, please let us know at slasherspod@gmail.com.
