Thanks for checking out episode 44 with Martin Potts who works for the distributor KORG UK in a role as UK Artist Relations for Paiste, Vic Firth & Mapex drums but also has control of the marketing for Mapex in the UK.In this episode, Martin and I chat about his history of playing drums which included him reaching grade 8 at a young age, but sadly due to problems with arthritis couldn't persue much in his playing career. So we naturally discussed his journey of working within the musical instruments industry and how he started working in a drum shop and has worked his way up in the world of musical instrument distribution within multiple companies to where he is today and how the industry has changed over the years. We also discussed some interesting topics such as artist endorsements and what Artist Relations at drum companies look for in new artists and how artists should initially approach them with regards to applications etc. Martin also talked about how he organises the marketing side of things for Mapex including social media content and how difficult it can be to get it right. Overall, a really interesting conversation from another side of the drum world that doesn't often get covered on this show.I hope you enjoy this free episode, please subscribe to the podcast via your podcast provider & YouTube, like and review where you can and share with anyone else who might be interested. If you've enjoyed any of my episodes, please consider joining my Patreon community via Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/drumforthesong/ for access to exclusive content, group video calls, competitions, giveaways plus 20% discount at http://www.motorhead-beer.comI'd like to give a special thanks to my top-tier 'Groove Master' Patrons for their extended support. In today's episode, I welcome another successful Fit Father Project member, David Rudd. As you'll hear, David is 58 years young and after working with us here at the Fit Father Project, he lost weight, gained muscle and strength, and is now in the best shape of his life. David has a fascinating story, as living on a farm means he was no stranger to physical activity even before joining the FFP. However, the adjustments he was able to make throughout the FFP programs have changed the way his body reacts. Combining the physical tweaks and a change to aspects of his nutrition has led David to great results in all the areas indicated above. He is now deadlifting 190 lbs, and shoulder pressing 30-35 lb dumbbells. This is even after old injuries and knee problems. David puts his success down to putting the reasons for wanting to achieve his desired results before any excuses that entered his mind. He made small changes to account for anything that was uncomfortable, and pushed through barriers regardless! If you want to get the most from your weight loss efforts and make successful changes like over 32,000 other guys have, listen to this episode, take some notes, and check out our FF30X program athttps://www.fitfatherproject.com/ ( https://www.fitfatherproject.com) -- FF30X is the Simple, Sustainable, and Specific Weight Loss Program that is designed especially for busy Men Over 40. In episode 66 of GT247's Tigers in 20, host and lead writer Christian Fowler, GT247 founder Brooks Hansen and digital content producer Kenny Stubblefield discuss the latest in Memphis football and basketball. To begin the episode, the trio discusses the rumors surrounding DJ Jeffries, and they quickly put the speculation to rest. Many fans began panicking when Jeffries made a post on Snapchat earlier this week, but the GT247 crew explains that there is no reason to worry. After the discussion on Jeffries, Fowler, Hansen and Stubblefield discuss Memphis' new indoor practice facility. University of Memphis President M. David Rudd posted a picture of the facility on Twitter, and it looked even better than expected to the GT247 trio. Following the talk about the practice facility and how much the program has risen in recent years, the GT247 crew breaks down some of their favorite players in the 2021 class that Memphis is recruiting. Throughout the discussion, Fowler, Hansen and Stubblefield break down five-stars Chet Holmgren, JD Davison, Harrison Ingram, Moussa Diabate and more. The trio gives a scouting report on multiple players, and they also discuss some very interesting player comparisons for the Tigers' targets. On Tuesday, it was announced that there will be no summer AAU basketball or camps, and the GT247 crew explains how detrimental it can be to college basketball and the players in the '21 class. This week Adam discusses Fluid Vulnerability Theory with Craig Bryan, PsyD, with the National Center for Veterans Studies at the University of Utah. Dr. Bryan ducked into an empty room at the hospital where he was delivering a talk to chat with Adam. Craig served four years in the Air Force and deployed to Iraq in 2009 as Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic at the Air Force Theater Hospital in Balad. Later he worked with Dr. David Rudd has Dr. Rudd developed Fluid Vulnerability Theory (FVT). FVT states that “suicide risk is an inherently dynamically changing construct…that risk will fluctuate over time.” And it is through understanding the processes that underlie the “ideation to acting framework” where work and change come about. Listening to these two really discuss FVT is like having a full conference presentation delivered right to you. It is fascinating.
University of Memphis president M. David Rudd joined Blue and Gray Show host John Stacy and producer Drew Barrett to talk about Memphis Football, the Big 12, and what new and exciting things are happening on campus and how fans can help the university.

Also, individual psychotherapists need to use their clinical judgment with their patients and incorporate procedures or techniques not covered in this podcast/video, or modify or omit certain recommendations herein because of the unique needs of their patients. This one-hour video/podcast provides a basic introduction to the assessment, management, and treatment of patients at risk to die from a suicide attempt. This podcast/video may be a useful refresher course for experienced clinicians. However, listeners/viewers should not assume that the completion of this course will, in and of itself, make them qualified to assess or treat individuals who are at risk to die from suicide. For those who do not have formal training in suicide, this podcast/video should be seen as providing an introduction or exposure to the professional literature on this topic. Proficiency in dealing with suicidal patients, like proficiency in other areas of professional practice, is best achieved through an organized sequence of study including mastery of a basic foundation of knowledge and attitudes, and supervision. It is impossible to give a fixed number of hours of continuing education and supervision that professionals need to have before they can be considered proficient in assessing, managing, and treating suicidal patients. Much depends on their existing knowledge base and overall level of clinical skill. It would be indicated to look at competency standards from noted authorities, such as those developed by the American Association of Suicidology ( http://www.sprc.org/training-events/amsr), by David Rudd and his associates (Rudd et al., 2008), or Cramer et al. (2014). Click here for the slides associated with this podcast. Click here to link for CE credits.
