Not the Disneyland episode I thought I would do this week but something "drew" me to the "it's a small world" facade. Enjoy this little trip to the outside of the attraction. For the most part, scams can be sniffed out pretty quickly with some key indicators. We speak to Ann, who has information of a lingering scam that could easily fool someone who isn't paying attention. This scam is posing as the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. Also on the show, we feature today's "Wheel of Weird" story of a lawsuit involving Disn and a man who lost his wife to an allergy accident at a Disney park. We also listen from callers who are defiant against Kamala Harris. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

...And, we're no back. No, seriously, we are. We're sorry for our longest unintended hiatus yet, caused by a combination of competing schedules, a bout of the flu by two co-hosts and their families (Todd's immune system is apparently still working overtime), the holidays, and general life hectic-ness. Anyway... While Andruw was busy pinning people to mats for his high school wrestling team (they're called mats, right; I don't know; maybe Andruw can school us on the lingo), Dave and Todd caught up with some general discussion about movies & TV shows they've watched recently. In this episode, we covered... - "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" in theaters - The DC shake-up at Warner Bros. - "Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special" on Disney+ - "The Santa Clauses" TV show on Disney+ - "She-Hulk: Attorney-At-Law" TV show on Disney+ (and the rest of 2022 MCU on TV) - "Andor" TV show on Disney+ - "Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" TV show on Disney+ - "Willow" TV show on Disney+ - "National Treasure: Edge of History" TV show on...checking my notes...oh, you guessed it, Disney+ - Christmas movies, Christmas-themed episodes of our podcast, and the problem with binging Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel - Podcasts Dave is listening to: "Monster Hour," "The Crit Show," and "Moriarty" - Podcasts Todd is listening to: "White Rocket Babylon 5 Rewatch Podcast," "Re:Engage" (a Star Trek: TNG rewatch podcast), and "The Grimmcast" (a "Grimm" rewatch podcast co-hosted by three actresses from the show) - The new "Quantum Leap" on Disn...nope, NBC (Todd watches via next-day streaming on Peacock) - Dave is also rewatching some of the original "Quantum Leap." - "The Peripheral" TV show on Amazon Prime - "Avenue 5" TV show on Amazon Prime, complete with references to venting poop (the ship in the show venting poop, not one of the co-hosts venting poop) - And a few quick, last-minute references to "For All Mankind" on Apple TV+, "The Orville" on Hulu & Disney+, "The Time Travelers Wife" on HBO Max, and "Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power" on Amazon Prime - Being ready for 2022 to be over - At least four topics we know we've got coming up: a review of "Rollerball" (a Dave Teague pick that's still on the list), Favorite SF/F/Horror Single-Episode TV Stories, Favorite SF/F/Horror TV Seasons, and 2022 Year In Review - A plug for our spin-off podcast -- "The Discerning Lurkers Portal: A Babylon 5 Podcast" (two more episodes are recorded and will be edited...soon-ish) - A plug for some episodes of this podcast having been re-uploaded with slightly improved audio quality (usually occurring on or near the one or two year anniversary of each original episode) Again, sorry for the schedule conflicts and other issues that kept us from doing more recently, including some Christmas themed episodes. We still hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that a very Happy New Year is ahead. :) You can contact us at... - E-Mail: discerninggeeks@gmail.com - Facebook: Discerning Geeks Portal - Twitter: @discerninggeeks Please rate or review us wherever you listen to podcasts. Listener Appreciation DayThe Walt Disney World Resort, also called Walt Disney World and Disney World, is an entertainment resort complex in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States, near the cities of Orlando and Kissimmee. Opened on October 1, 1971, the resort is owned and operated by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, a division of The Walt Disney Company. It was first operated by the Walt Disney World Company. The property covers nearly 25,000 acres (39 sq mi; 101 km2), of which half has been used.[4] The resort comprises four theme parks(consisting of the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom), two water parks, 27 themed resort hotels, nine non-Disney hotels, several golf courses, a camping resort, and other entertainment venues, including the outdoor shopping center Disney Springs.Designed to supplement Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which had opened in 1955, the complex was developed by Walt Disney in the 1960s. "The Florida Project", as it was known, was intended to present a distinct vision with its own diverse set of attractions. Walt Disney's original plans also called for the inclusion of an "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" (EPCOT), a planned community intended to serve as a testbed for new city-living innovations. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, during the initial planning of the complex. After his death, the company wrestled with the idea of whether to bring the Disney World project to fruition. However, Walt's older brother, Roy, came out of retirement to make sure Walt's biggest dream was realized. Construction started in 1967, with the company instead building a resort similar to Disneyland, abandoning the experimental concepts for a planned community. The Magic Kingdom was the first theme park to open in the complex, in 1971, followed by Epcot (1982), Disney's Hollywood Studios (1989), and Disney's Animal Kingdom (1998). It was Roy who insisted the name of the entire complex be changed from Disney World to Walt Disney World, ensuring that people would remember that the project was Walt's dream.

Welcome back fellow Defenders, to our spoiler filled Marvel podcast, as we chat about Loki Episode 2 "The Variant". Loki quickly shows his worth to the Time Variance Authority. Loki Episode 2 "The Variant" Synopsis Head Writer: Michael Waldron Episode Written by: Elissa Karasik Episode Directed By: Kate Herron A team of Time Variance Authority Minutemen arrive at a Renaissance Fair in Wisconsin in 1985. They are on the trail of a Loki Variant but to the tune of “Holding Out for a Hero” they are taken out by the hooded figure who captures and kidnaps Hunter C-20. Meanwhile back at the TVA headquarters, Mobius meets with Judge Renslayer to explain that Loki is a valuable asset that is needed to catch the murderous variant.Given one last chance Loki is tasked with searching through the Variant's history to find clues on where it might be. Loki suggests that his Variant could be hiding in apocalyptic events throughout the sacred timeline which would mask any activities since that timeline will end. To test the theory Mobius takes Loki to Pompeii in 79AD. With the impending eruption of Mount Vesuvius they learn that nothing Loki does shows up as a variant timeline. Using the origin date of the Kablowee Candy left behind in France at the Variant's previous attack, Loki quickly identifies where they could be hiding. When the team arrives at the RoxxCart superstore in 2050s Alabama, Loki meets his variant. They possess Hunter B-15 and other customers of the store to inform Loki that he has no idea of the scale of their plan, it isn't about him. Finally revealing their true form to Loki they set off a chain of time reset charges that are sent throughout time creating hundreds of breakaway moments and destroying the Sacred Timeline. Reasons Why People Continue to Come Home to Disney WorldSome people might call us Disney folk crazy, but there’s just something about that feeling you get when you walk down Main Street U.S.A. and get a sweet whiff of the treats from Main Street Bakery. Or, when you’re transported into a classic Disney story. So, what is it that keeps people coming back? We have a few ideas! At Disney World, there is always something new and excited to see whether it’s a new ride, restaurant, or show. And, that’s part of the draw! You can always find something brand new to look forward to because you definitely need to see it all! And, this constant change is how the parks were meant to be! When Walt Disney opened Disneyland, he said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. It is something that will never be finished.”

Top 3 Disney Plus Recommendations- Week of 03-19-2021It’s a wonderful scene. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier shines best when it’s putting forth questions people have kicked around in the back of their minds or in conversations with friends for more than a decade. How do the Avengers get paid? What do they do on their time off? Do they go on dates with non-Avengers? Do they pick up part-time jobs when the world doesn’t need saving? How do the Avengers live when there’s nothing to avenge? It’s a big part of what makes comic books fun week after week, month after month. The intimate lives of superheroes when the masks are removed and the high-tech gear is taken off is just as important as the extensive CGI fight sequences. In WandaVision, those are the small moments between Wanda and Vision in what could have been their post-Thanos life. If Marvel’s upcoming Hawkeye series finds its inspiration in Matt Fraction’s beloved Hawkeye comic, it’s rooftop barbecues, sipping coffee in the morning, and looking for new cars to buy. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it’s Sam helping his nephews catch fish on the dock or Bucky trying online dating. Hell, Bucky in therapy is something ripped right out of Tumblr; that’s a compliment.

The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth is a game about the lovecraftian dark side of Disn- er, I mean the Mouse Park. It's a fun trip to a beloved theme park where the pirates really do come to life and eat the tourists. Except we are not playing in the Mouse Park, we are playing in a different terrifying wonderland. It's been ten years since the chocolate factory closed its gates; ten years since the candyman disappeared into a padded cell. Those workers who could took shelter with the Prodnose Conglomerate. No one talks of those who couldn't. The factory is a crumbling ruin and a source of urban legend. Tonight we are making the characters that will venture into the depths of the Wonka Chocolate Factory. Guests to be added later. I'm kind of short on time. They know why. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Bounce i New OrleansI New Orleans, Louisiana, bliver numsedansen taget til nye højder. Medierne gik amok. Den søde barnestjerne fra Disn
