In this episode I am reading an extract from Philip Mantle's book ''Beyond Reasonable Doubt: The Pascagoula Alien Abduction'.The date was October 11th, 1973; the location was the Pascagoula River, Mississippi. Two shipyard workers Charles Hickson (age 42) and Calvin Parker (age 18) decided to go fishing on the river after work. Both anglers were not having much luck that night and they thought about calling it a night when something happened that would change their lives forever. A dazzling blue light from behind them illuminated the entire scene. Turning round both men watched in awe as a rugby ball-shaped object descended. A door opened and three bizarre looking humanoid entities glided out across to the two terrified onlookers. Both Parker & Hickson later that night made their way to their local Sherriff's Department to tell them that they had been abducted by aliens. It wasn't long before the story found its way into the media and the story went around the world. Charles Hickson readily told his story, but Calvin Parker wanted simply to be left alone. Hickson co-authored a book with William Mendez in 1983 and it wasn't until 2018 that Calvin Parker finally told his story in full for the first time.It was Calvin Parker's book and subsequent publicity that made this case probably the best documented such event on record. It wasn't necessarily what Calvin Parker related in his two books, but it is what happened when they were published. Much to everyone's surprise more and more firsthand eyewitnesses began to step forward. A number of these witnesses reported seeing something s few days prior to the Parker/Hickson encounter and others a few days after. UFO sightings were made in and around Pascagoula, Mississippi and in neighbouring states as well. Added to that more eyewitnesses stepped forward with their accounts of what they observed on the very same night, that being October 11th, 1973. Two of these witnesses were quite literally on the other side of the Pascagoula River that night at the very same time as Parker and Hickson were experiencing their close encounter. Not only were they on the other side of the river, but they too have related a sequence of events that could indicate that they two had a similar encounter to the two fishermen on the opposite side of the river. The full story of these two witnesses and all of the others are detailed here in full.One last thing that has left the authors completely baffled is what could be ‘proof' of a physical contact with something by Parker and Hickson that night. Both men reported that when the bizarre looking humanoids took hold of them, they felt a king of ‘scratch' on ‘prick' similar to an injection. The authors have uncovered a document written on October 13th, 1973, just two days after the encounter, which describes a physical examination of the two men and that ‘puncture wounds' were located on Charles Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. The document, located in 2018, also mentioned that photographs of these marks were taken. In the file sadly there was no sign of these photographs. In 2021 when this book was being written the authors received an email from a colleague that mentioned he had accidentally found a couple of photos that he thought we would be interested in. The photographs in question were those mentioned in the ‘puncture wounds' document obtained 3 years earlier and show marks on Charles's Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. These photos will be published here for the first time ever.This book concentrates on the independent eyewitness testimony, the puncture wounds evidence, the hypnosis sessions of the new witnesses and of Calvin Parker both of which were conducted exclusively for this book and it is left for the reader to draw their own conclusion.BioPhilip Mantle is an international UFO researcher, lecturer and broadcaster. Both men reported that when the bizarre looking humanoids took hold of them, they felt a kind of ‘scratch' on ‘prick' similar to an injection. The authors have uncovered a document written on October 13th, 1973, just two days after the encounter, which describes a physical examination of the two men and that ‘puncture wounds' were located on Charles Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. The document, located in 2018, also mentioned that photographs of these marks were taken. In the file sadly there was no sign of these photographs. In 2021 when this book was being written the authors received an email from a colleague that mentioned he had accidentally found a couple of photos that he thought we would be interested in. The photographs in question were those mentioned in the ‘puncture wounds' document obtained 3 years earlier and show marks on Charles's Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. These photos will be published here for the first time ever. This book concentrates on the independent eyewitness testimony, the puncture wounds evidence, the hypnosis sessions of the new witnesses and of Calvin Parker both of which were conducted exclusively for this book and it is left for the reader to draw their own conclusion. The book is fully illustrated with photographs, documents, newspaper cuttings and exclusive artwork by UK artist Jason Gleaves and has a foreword by Calvin Parker. We believe that the evidence provided in this book if it was taken to court could prove BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT that something truly extraordinary took place that October night in 1973 in the Pascagoula area. 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of this encounter and we have provided all of the evidence we have. Dr. Irena Scott received her Ph.D. from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in physiology, did post-doctoral research at Cornell University, and has had a professorship at St. Bonaventure University. Her MS was from the University of Nevada, her BS from Ohio State University in astronomy and biology, and she has done research and teaching at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and the University of Nevada. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) employed her in Ph.D. level (GS-11) research in satellite photography including in its Air Order of Battle section, which involved aircraft identification with above top-secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information, clearances. She was employed as a Physical Scientist/Cartographer in the DMA Aerospace Center using satellite photography, and she worked at Battelle Memorial Institute. She has been sent for work-related purposes to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She was a volunteer astronomer at the Ohio State University Radio Observatory “Big Ear” (noted for the WOW SETI signal that might be humanity’s only signal from ET), is an amateur astronomer, and has taken flying lessons She was a correspondent for Popular Mechanics magazine. Her publications include books, and works in peer-reviewed scientific journals, magazines, and newspapers. Her photography has been shown on television and in magazines, books, and newspapers. She served on the MUFON Board of Directors (1993 to 2000) and is a MUFON consultant in physiology and astronomy and a field investigator. As the MUFON Director of Publications, she co-edited eight symposium proceedings. She was a founding member of the Mid-Ohio Research Associates (MORA) and an editor for the Ohio UFO Notebook. Her UFO publications include articles in the MUFON UFO Journal, the International UFO Reporter, and FATE magazine. I Want to Believe – Episode 2 PODCAST NOTES Unidentified Flying Objects with MUFON’S Valerie Schultz Photographing ET Pictures Author Robert Pinotti has a book called ‘UFO Contacts in Italy – Volume One’ that will be published by FLYING DISK PRESS in February of this year. Much of the information in this book is being published in English for the very first time and contains an array of UFO/alien contact cases from Italy. One of the most unusual incidents is one from 1957, and it is the only case that I am aware of that allegedly has photographs of the inside of a UFO. In October 1957, it was reported that a UFO was observed in the Francavillia area on the Adriatic Coast. The UFO landed, and the observers were invited by their galactic friend to enter the UFO and take photographs. MUFON’s Mission Statement: “Scientific Study of UFO’s for the Benefit of Humanity.” They are the oldest UFO organization in the world, and since 1969 have grown to 4,000 members and have more than 800 Certified Investigators. Valerie Schultz She joined MUFON in 2010, and soon after studied and passed the exam to become a MUFON Field Investigator. In 2012, she became the Maine Assistant State Director and in 2017 she was promoted the Maine State Director. In the 1980’s, she was a member of John Keel’s Fortean Society in New York City. Valerie told me that he would have very interesting guests that spoke at his monthly meetings such as Whitley Streiber and Tim Beckley. It was these Fortean Society meetings that really inspired her to get into studying UFOs. She then discovered and followed the works of Stanton Friedman, a Nuclear Physicist and outstanding pioneer in the field of Ufology. He was the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and she became fascinated with his research which eventually led her onto a path to MUFON to learn more about the UFO phenomenon. Now a new book has revealed the actual, real interior decor of a UFO… which looks mysteriously like an ordinary desk here on Earth. What makes the pictures even more extraordinary is the presence of a sunglasses-wearing alien, captured on film in chilling proof that extraterrestrials walk among us, wearing shades. Author Dr Roberto Pinotti, aged 73, is publishing the pictures in a new book, UFO Contacts in Italy, detailing how a flying saucer landed on the Adriatic coast. Pinotii claims the incident happened in 1957 – although we're not sure why the images are blurred almost as if by a Photoshop filter. Probably some kind of alien magnetic field. That must be it. Pinotti claims that the aliens ‘wanted to be friends' – and allowed two people inside the UFO to take photos. We also discuss one of Flying Disk Press’ latest books, which is a republishing of a book regarding was is referred to as the “Pascagoula sightings.” The event took place in Mississippi in October of 1973. While fishing two men witnessed a UFO and strange creatures. They later reported the event to police, who secretly taped them, but what they heard were two frightened individuals, not hoaxers.
