After graduating from University of North Texas he joined the United States Army. On his release in 1968 he joined the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He served as police reporter and general assignments reporter covering stories locally, in Europe and the Middle East. After a leave of absence to serve with a Fourth Army intelligence unit during the Vietnam War, he became military and aerospace writer for the newspaper and an investigative reporter. Marrs began to take an interest in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. After interviewing several members of the Dallas Police Department he became convinced him that the Warren Commission was a cover-up. Marrs continued to investigate the case and interviewed several important witnesses as well as city and county officials. In 1976 Marrs began teaching a course about the assassination for the University of Texas at Arlington. He left the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in 1980 and worked as a freelance journalist while continuing to investigate the death of Kennedy. Marrs eventually became convinced that Lee Harvey Oswald had been set up by the government and in 1989 he published Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy. Published to critical acclaim and reached the New York Times Paperback Non-Fiction Best Seller list in mid-February 1992. It also became a basis for the Oliver Stone film JFK and he served as a chief consultant for both the film's screenplay and production. Since 1980, Mr. Marrs has been a freelance writer, author and public relations consultant. He also published a rural weekly newspaper along with a monthly tourism tabloid, a cable television show and several videos. Beginning in 1992, Mr. Marrs spent three years researching and completing a non-fiction book on a top-secret government program involving the psychic phenomenon known as remote viewing only to have it mysteriously canceled as it was going to press in the summer of 1995. This week's episode of Lost Origins takes Andrew and CK to the Giza Plateau with author and researcher, Scott Creighton. Creighton is an engineer whose extensive travels have allowed him to explore many of the world’s ancient sacred sites. The Scottish investigator is the host of the Alternative Egyptology forum on AboveTopSecret.com.His latest book, The Great Pyramid Hoax is a tour de force that explores ancient Egypt and its erroneous history. The show explores evidence that suggests the discoveries made within the Great Pyramid by Colonel Howard Vyse in 1837 were fraudulent. Scott also shares his theories surrounding the purpose of the great pyramids, a possible connection to Atlantis, and his upcoming sequel to The Great Pyramid Hoax. About The Great Pyramid Hoax via Inner Traditions: Despite millennia of fame, the origins of the Great Pyramid of Giza are shrouded in mystery. Believed to be the tomb of an Egyptian king, even though no remains have ever been found, its construction date of roughly 2550 BCE is tied to only one piece of evidence: the crudely painted marks within the pyramid’s hidden chambers that refer to the 4th Dynasty king Khufu, discovered in 1837 by Colonel Howard Vyse and his team. Using evidence from the time of the discovery of these “quarry marks”--including surveys, facsimile drawings and Vyse’s private field notes--along with high definition photos of the actual marks, Scott Creighton reveals how and why the marks were faked. He investigates the anomalous and contradictory orthography of the quarry marks through more than 75 photos and illustrations, showing how they radically depart from the established canon of quarry marks from this period. He explains how the orientation of the Khufu cartouche contradicts ancient Egyptian writing convention and how one of the signs is from a later period. Analyzing Vyse’s private diary, he reveals Vyse’s forgery instructions to his two assistants, Raven and Hill, and what the anachronistic sign should have been. He examines recent chemical analysis of the marks along with the eye-witness testimony of Humphries Brewer, who worked with Vyse at Giza in 1837 and saw forgery take place. Exploring Vyse’s background, including his electoral fraud to become a member of the British Parliament, he explains why he was driven to perpetrate a fraud inside the Great Pyramid. Proving Zecharia Sitchin’s claim that the quarry marks are forgeries and removing the only physical evidence that dates the Great Pyramid’s construction to the reign of Khufu, Creighton’s study strikes down one of the most fundamental assertions of orthodox Egyptologists and reopens long-standing questions about the Great Pyramid’s true age, who really built it, and why.

For as far back as I can remember, I would wake up in the middle of the night, be drawn to the window, and see objects in the sky, often in formation. I also have distinct memories of what some have called abduction but in my personal experience have referred to as “night school.”I recently learned of the work of my guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Mary A. Joyce. Mary is editor of the “Sky Ships Over Cashiers” website which has been covering a wide variety of cutting-edge topics since 2008. Topics include UFOs, secret underground bases in North Carolina and Tennessee, Bigfoot, Cherokee Little People, archaeological finds and testimonies from those with Above Top-Secret security clearances. Mary’s newspaper experience has made the website a source for reliable information. She has worked for two major metropolitan area newspapers as a feature editor, Sunday magazine editor, columnist and artist. Because of that experience, the website postings are well researched, easy to read and always enhanced with photos and graphics.She also has written books. The most recent ones are Cherokee Little People Were Real, Underground Military Bases Hidden in North Carolina Mountains, and Tangible Evidence of Jesus Left behind for Us To Find which focuses on scientific and archaeological discoveries about Jesus.Because of her books and website, Mary has been a frequent guest on radio and TV shows including “Coast to Coast AM”, The Travel Channel and Internet TV shows in Ireland and Australia.In addition to writing, Mary’s career includes working for a major metropolitan air pollution control agency, a community college, eight successful political campaigns, the world’s largest private printing company and a Fortune 100 company where she worked directly with many creative teams including those at Marvel Comics, Golden Books, Mr. Rogers, Berenstain Bears and Steven Spielberg’s “ET” book staff. She joins me this week to discuss her research and share her story.

Despite millennia of fame, the origins of the Great Pyramid of Giza are shrouded in mystery. Believed to be the tomb of an Egyptian king, even though no remains have ever been found, its construction date of roughly 2550 BCE is tied to only one piece of evidence: the crudely painted marks within the pyramid’s hidden chambers that refer to the 4th Dynasty king Khufu, discovered in 1837 by Colonel Howard Vyse and his team.Using evidence from the time of the discovery of these “quarry marks”--including surveys, facsimile drawings and Vyse’s private field notes--along with high definition photos of the actual marks, Scott Creighton reveals how and why the marks were faked. I’m inspired to bring to you today’s motivational moment after reading a book entitled, Encouragement Changes Everything by John Maxwell.  You may know John Maxwell as a leadership coach, appearing in Success Magazine, author of numerous books, and now with his own coaching empire.  I love John’s messages because in all truth, they can be applies whether you are an entreprenuer in your own business, or a high-level executive in someone else’s business. Today’s book still has that leadership undertone, but centers all around the concept of encouragement.   This is all about paying it forward in your business.  The success you obtain can be done – so share it with another business owner.  Be significant.
