In a world filled with complexities and challenges, finding meaning can often feel daunting. But what if the key to unlocking a life of purpose lies within a simple yet profound blueprint? Join Reggie as he explores the intricate interplay of four psychological constructs - growth, grit, gratitude, and grace - and how when weaved together form the '4G Blueprint,' a powerful framework that can lead to profound transformation. His inspiration for this blueprint stems from leading researchers like Carol Dweck, Angela Duckworth, Keith Harrell and his own intentional examination of his life experiences.

Welcome to episode 30 of the Nurtured by Nature podcast, today I'm taking some time to offer up my gratitude to you my beautiful community and to reflect on our amazing journey a year into our Nurtured By Nature story and to remember some of the incredible wisdom that we have shared with all the amazing guests who have offered us their stories so far.Whilst reminiscing on some of my favourite moments, I'm reminded of some of the common threads that have woven their way into many of our conversations: The importance of community and what we can achieve when we come together (of course that includes not just our human world but our non-human communities too). The fact that we aren't powerless, that as consumers we have incredible power to support those businesses that are holding nature at the centre of their business decisions, that we don't have to wait for the legislation from governments to make the change, in fact my conversation with Jessica Brennan was a wonderful example of how the legislation often follows the change rather than proceeding it. And perhaps most importantly to embrace the power of love for healing ourselves and our world, and remembering to give ourselves and those around us the benefit of grace, knowing that most people want to help and do good, but that no-one is perfect and we are all clumsily simply doing the best we can to make the world a little better, day by day.Thank you for being a part of this journey with me, please Subscribe to make sure you don't miss our future episodes, and share with your friends to help these messages ripple out across the world. The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means grace, graciousness, or gratefulness (depending on the context).  I think about gratitude like this: Grace is an extension of gratitude and the more grateful we are the more grace we lead with.  Gratefully, today Kimberlee Soo shared a beautiful gratitude meditation with us. Kimberlee is a writer and private yoga instructor based in Los Angeles. Kimberlee has practiced yoga and meditation for over thirty years and began teaching in 2021, taking on private clients shortly thereafter. She is passionate about walking alongside those who wish to dynamically evolve and expand their knowledge of self through mindful modalities and dedicated to humans finding their authentic voice.   She recently executive produced her first film short, The Model and  one of her first short stories can be found in the anthology Briefly Knocked Unconscious by a Low-Flying Duck which just celebrated its 10thanniversary in print (Elephant Rock Books). Kimberlee collaborates as an editor and story developer, primarily with memoirists. Kimberlee's teachings have personally helped me find gratitude in the present moment. Not for what I have or how I feel, but for what I am. My hope is that through this meditation she can help you find what it is you're seeking.

Gratitude is a practice that activates parts of the brain that signal pleasure and reward. It can help us produce lasting feelings of self-confidence, self-assuredness and happiness and it can help to rewire the brain to recognize more opportunities to be thankful for. In this way gratitude can lead to grace— a precision and alignment with our highest Self as we move through life. In this meditation we practice remembering, envisioning and feeling into the feeling-sense of gratitude. This practice is the first in a live, virtual series called Gratitude & Grace. Time for a guided visualization exercise: I want to simplify how to express your gratitude and give thanks. The autumn season is upon us and as we roll into Thanksgiving and the holidays, it's a perfect time to step back and recognize all the goodness in your life, currently. Therefore, I've chosen the theme of GRATITUDE + GRACE for the month ahead. That will be our focus for all episodes on the podcast this month. As the outer world is slowly amping up the pace for the holidays, let's intentionally slow down this month and give thanks to all things that are so good in our work and in our lives. Let's do the radical thing and consciously choose to do less, express our gratitude in an authentic way and do it all with grace.  So to kick off the month, today is another guided visualization episode, which we've decided to release on the first Tuesday of every month this season. How does it work? Simple! Let my voice be a guide for you as you focus inward to help you tap into your inner wisdom and Intuition for answers. Listen and participate in a guided visualization exercise: how to express your gratitude and give thanks. You can do this, I believe in you. It's time to SIMPLIFY. Having been inspired to host this podcast by the response I received at work to tragic loss (and by my friendship with my awesome co-host Sarah Hines), I urge you to listen to this important conversation with Sam Lillemoen.Sam lost his husband Brad suddenly two years ago.  While leadership and many colleagues at work were very supportive, Sam still found himself struggling with grief while at the same time having to perform at work and interact with a wide range of people.  Feeling alone, isolated and useen in his grief at times he decided to launch a "Friends of Grief" group modelled on the Affinity Groups for DEI at Expedia.   He was overwhelmed by the response. You see those who grieve at work are not really alone - it is such a common experience and through Friends of Grief Sam was able to connect with others living after loss - of loved ones, work, health, pets - and those wanting to support colleagues in these situations. Conversations began, sub groups formed and friendships were made.Grief is not an event, it is a journey and one that we don't need to travel alone.  Friends of Grief stands as a tribute to the memory of Brad and also shows how an individual can take the initiative on grief and create a community that brings comfort to so many grieving in the workplace.

Hey Mamas, It is officially March, and we are here, marchin' on, pun very much intended! How are you feeling? Today's episode is a short one because I wanted to kick off this month with some gratitude and reflection. In a few days, it will also be a year since our world and lives shifted. Some for the better, some incredibly challenging. But all of it valid. For many of us, we went into wearing all the hats, juggling everything on a 24/7 basis. For some of us, businesses grew, families grew, relationships blossomed. And for some of us, things fell apart... only to slowly guide us to where we are meant to be and within those moments, we still found grace, we found compassion, we found loss and love. We found ourselves. For some of us, the past year was a chance to be present with our families, a much-needed break, and respite from the daily hustle. For some, the year couldn't have gotten any worse. I've heard all perspectives. No matter what the past year looked like or felt like, in its own way, it taught many of us to be present. To cull away what no longer fits, to focus on what's truly important to us. To be whole in each moment. In a few short days, it will be exactly 1 year since the Boss Mama Retreat was held, and while we would have loved for everything to return to "normal" or in other words, the way things were, we know that is likely not going to be the case for a while. But, in each moment, I remind myself that this too shall pass, and I know it will! And that's the thing with change. Life will shift, things will happen in the blink of an eye. Much of which, externally, is outside our control. However, internally, we have full control. We have choice. As my good friend, Sarah Swain of The Great Canadian Woman always says, "Your entire life can change in a year, only if you let it." Truer words couldn't have been spoken. So today, as you listen, as you reflect, as all the emotions surface with each passing day, embrace them without guilt. It is okay to feel angry. It is okay to feel sad. It is okay to feel happy and celebrate. It is okay to feel whatever you feel. You are seen. You are heard. You are loved. If there are a few things you take away in reflection, let it be these:

Gratitude is more than delighting in a gift; it is a feeling of happiness directed toward a person for giving you something good. Growing in our ability to consistently be grateful and express gratitude is not only life-changing but is part of becoming a mature disciple of Jesus. This week on the Lifeschool Podcast, we’ll look at the connection between gratitude, grace and the gospel. You’ll discover that expressing gratitude for the giver–not just the good gift–connects our hearts deeper to that person and is a picture of the gospel in and of itself. Think of the godliest people you know, the people you most respect, other mature Believers you want to emulate and imitate. Almost certainly, the people you are thinking of are grateful people. Cynics, complainers, and critics may be popular on social media and late-night television, but they do not make great heroes of the faith. In This Episode You’ll Learn: How expressing gratitude actually changes us physically. What a lack of gratitude and a tendency to focus on the negative leads to. How even spending a few minutes with a truly grateful person changes lives. Immediate, hand-held steps you can take to grow in expressing gratitude. Get started here… From this episode: “God, in Christ, has given us all the most amazing and precious gift we will ever receive. Jesus gave us his own life, that we may be forgiven and set free. Let’s not just be grateful for that gift, but remember, we get to express our gratitude for, and to, the GIVER of such grace! How grateful, on a daily basis, are you for Jesus, the giver of such good gifts?”   Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now.
