Er is weer een lange werkweek voorbij, maar voordat je aan alweer de nieuwe gaat beginnen hebben we deze zondagochtend nog een heerlijke aflevering Nerd Culture voor je. Deze week hebben we onder andere de Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny review, hebben we Secret Invasion aflevering twee gekeken en hebben we naast trailers ook nog een boel nieuws voor je. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny review Maar laten we beginnen bij Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Want hoewel onze grote plannen helaas in duigen vielen, zijn we niet minder enthousiast om nog een keertje Harrison Ford als onze geliefde Henry Jones Jr. te zien. De film bevindt zich echter in lastig vaarwater. Lucasfilm heeft een succes nodig, maar na de reviews die verschenen naar aanleiding van de Cannes screening zag het er niet goed uit. De film werd zeer matig ontvangen en nu hij uit is lijken ook de box office inkomsten behoorlijk tegen te vallen. Een beetje achtergrond informatie, maar dat doet er natuurlijk niet toe over wat wijzelf van de film vinden. Huey is deze week geweest en heeft vanaf Down the Rabbit Hole een korte review opgenomen! Rolling Stone: Onderzoek doet boekje open over Jonathan Majors Het leek een goede week voor Jonathan Majors te worden. De originele zaak waar de controverse mee begon leek heel goed voor hem uit te pakken. Het bewijsmateriaal spreekt in zijn voordeel en ook de originele aanklager zou inmiddels zijn gearresteerd. Goed nieuws dus zou je zeggen, tot Rolling Stone met een onderzoek kwam waaruit blijkt dat Jonathan Majors al jaren en jaren wordt beschuldigd van manipulatief en grensoverschrijdend gedrag. Zowel op de werkvloer als in prive relaties. De gifbeker is nog niet leeg dus, to be continued. 'Andrew Garfield als Spider-Man in Venom 3' Keert Andrew Garfield terug als Spider-Man in Venom 3? We zijn bij Nerd Culture niet bepaald fan van de Venom films ondanks het succes dat ze boeken. Na de teleurstelling van Let there be Carnage leek er nog maar weinig te zijn wat ons zou kunnen enthousiasmeren, tot daar deze week ineens de hardnekkige geruchten naar boven kwamen drijven over het feit dat Andrew Garfield z'n opwachting zou maken in de derde film van de trilogie. Een Spider-Man vs Venom showdown is precies wat deze film als climax nodig heeft, nu nog hopen dat het script okay is en dat de film een keertje als R-Rated in de markt wordt gezet. Indiana Jones und das Rad des Schicksals - Doch noch ein versöhnlicher Abschluss? Setzt die Fedora-Hüte auf, schwingt die Peitschen und überlegt euch, welcher andere überoffensichtliche Verweis auf das Franchise hier wohl noch Platz gefunden hätte: Denn bei der Tele-Bundeslade, repräsentiert durch Schlogger, Dom und Stu, geht es dieses Mal um den fünften - und vermutlich auch letzten - Teil der "Indiana Jones"-Reihe, der am 29. Juni in den deutschen Kinos startet. Ja, 15 Jahre nach dem umstrittenen "Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels", hat Hollywood den wohl bekanntesten und beliebtesten Archäologen der Filmgeschichte tatsächlich nochmal ausgebuddelt. Natürlich einmal mehr gespielt von Harrison Ford, der dieses Jahr seinen 81. Geburtstag feiern wird. In "Indiana Jones und das Rad des Schicksals" bekommt es Indy aber statt mit bösen Russen oder Aliens erneut mit seinen Lieblings-Widersachern zu tun: (Alt-)Nazis. Die jagen unter dem Wissenschaftler Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) im Jahr 1969 zur Zeit der Mondladung nach dem sogenannten "Rad des Schicksals", in dem man den Schlüssel zu absoluter Macht zu finden glaubt. Dabei haben Voller und seine Schergen allerdings ihre Rechnung schnell ohne Henry Jones Jr. kurz vorm Ruhestand und seine Patentochter Helena Shaw ("Fleabag"-Star Phoebe Waller-Bridge) gemacht. So weit, so vertraut. Aber folgt "Indiana Jones und das Rad des Schicksals" damit wirklich bloß recht klassischen Mustern, oder geht "Logan"-Macher James Mangold als Ersatzmann für Steven Spielberg doch eigene Wege und schafft es vielleicht sogar, der legendären Abenteuer-Reihe neben einem würdigen Abschluss auch eine wohltuende Frischzellenkur zu verpassen? Indiana Jones - Eine Abenteuerfilm-Reihe für die Ewigkeit? - Unser Indy-Cast zum Kinostart von Indiana Jones 5 "Das Abenteuer hat viele Gesichter. Indiana Jones hat sie alle." So titelte bereits 1984 hierzulande ein Plakat für den zweiten Kinoauftritt von Harrison Ford als legendärer Archäologe und Teilzeit-Grabräuber. Und selbst fast genau 40 Jahre danach, scheint der Kultstatus dieser Ikone bis heute ungebrochen und unangefochten zu sein. Bevor Dr. Henry Jones Jr. nun aber ab kommender Woche mit "Indiana Jones und das Rad des Schicksals" für sein fünftes - und wohl auch endgültig letztes - Leinwandabenteuer zurückkehrt, werfen wir einen Blick zurück auf diese zeitlose Filmreihe, die komplette Generationen von Fans wie Filmschaffenden geprägt hat und es bis heute tut. Mal mehr, mal weniger dazuzählen dürfen sich auch David, Till, Lasse und Dom, die sich, wie so viele andere vermutlich auch, in Vorbereitung auf den Kinobesuch von Teil 5 die vorangegangenen vier Filme nochmal vorab angesehen haben und in diesem Special ausführlich in (verklärter?) No falta mucho para que se estrene la quinta, y presumiblemente última entrega de las aventuras del más famoso arqueólogo del mundo, el profesor Henry Jones Jr, más conocido como Indiana Jones, al que ha dado vida desde el principio Harrison Ford, y aunque en su momento hablaremos de lo que representan las películas, Juanjo no ha podido dejar pasar la oportunidad de dedicar una píldora a uno de sus personajes favoritos. En esta píldora, Juanjo repasa con vehemencia y gran lujo de detalles todo lo que significa este personaje, tanto desde un punto de vista de ficción y narrativo, como el oficio de arqueólogo y todos los géneros que han tocado tanto las películas de Steven Spielberg como los videojuegos y otros soportes audiovisuales que han sido protagonizados por Indy. Y eso sin olvidarse de otros títulos que han sido influenciados por ella. Así que no tenéis excusa para no darle al play, no solamente porque vais a aprender mucho, sino porque lo vais a pasar en grande con Juanjo y su pasión por uno de los personajes más famosos de la historia.

This week, we're looking at the amazing life of Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. and his discovery of the Ark of the Covenant! This one's got it all - guerilla archaeology, Nazis, and a prize of biblical proportions. We'll talk about the history of the Ark, its disappearance from the historical record, and its re-emergence and re-discovery in the 1930s. Nearly everyone directly involved with the project died in a mysterious explosion which took place at the opening of the Ark in 1936; we'll discuss what little is known of that, and take a look at the amazing life of Dr. Jones. Additional sidebars include the federal gag order on the Ark project participants, the current whereabouts of the Ark itself, and a little background on the great 1981 documentary on the subject. Officer Jones is a dedicated and committed public servant who has served the Denver community as well as the military and veteran community for over 28 years.  Officer Jones is currently assigned as the Community Resource Officer for the Denver International Airport.  He is also currently responsible for all security for the 2017 Medal of Honor Society Convention which will take place in Denver this year.  Officer Jones routinely spends his off duty and personal time escorting MOH Recipients to engagements and appointments at his own expense and adamantly refuses reimbursement.   Officer Jones' commitment to MOH Recipients, Gold Star Family Members, Military members and Veterans is without measure.  He is spent personal time bedside with MOH Recipients and Veterans during there recovery in the hospital.     Officer Jones has a long and distinguished career as a Law Enforcement Officer and is the epitome of Selfless Service!  Some of his awards and decorations are listed below.
