Bitcoin is so back. Institutions are talking about it more than ever and are investing at a rapid pace, while the US government is setting up a strategic Bitcoin reserve. In today's episode, we explore the "Back to Bitcoin" thesis with Hemi co-founders Jeff Garzik and Max Sanchez.Hemi takes the best from Bitcoin and Ethereum, combining Bitcoin's security with Ethereum's programmability. How? They embed a Bitcoin full node into the EVM, allowing developers to interact with Bitcoin in completely new ways.We cover Hemi's successful mainnet launch, their Bitcoin tunneling system, and how they're enabling new possibilities without compromising security. Their technology supports both bridged assets and native Bitcoin interactions. This conversation highlights Bitcoin's growing influence, with nation-states potentially becoming the next major adopters after institutions.Let's get into it. After working with Satoshi in the early years, and almost 15 years of crypto experience, legend Jeff Garzik shares his story in this exclusive interview. Recently, we did an educational deep dive into several teams working on extending Bitcoin with innovative mechanism designs and Bitcoin L2s on Bitcoin and Beyond. This conversation is a phenomenal next episode in that series. Today, Hemi is attempting to unify Bitcoin and Ethereum. A Bitcoin L2 with customizations to more deeply integrate the top two blockchain ecosystems; Hemi is based on two core innovations: the hVM incorporates new byte codes into the EVM that talk directly to Bitcoin, and Proof of Proof (PoP) consensus which allows Hemi to achieve "superfinality" on Bitcoin. The Bitcoin and Ethereum communities have long been at odds debating the true purpose of cryptocurrency, and best design principles to bring about mass adoption. Jeff calls Bitcoin the "root of the crypto tree" and Ethereum "the grand central station of crypto". With Hemi technology, its possible to unite the two blockchains and maybe the two communities once and for all. Website: https://therollup.co/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1P6ZeYd.. His work with the Linux kernel is now found in every Android phone and data center running Linux today. Jeff serves on the advisory boards of BitPay, BitFury, Netki and WayPaver Labs. Jeff is currently the Chief Designer & the Co-founder of Vesper Finance. Under-the-hood, Vesper enables a truly set-and-forget experience at scale through a unique approach that enables yield aggregating "strategies" to be upgraded, replaced, connected, and concurrent – all with no added burden on the end user. My guest today is Ryan Condron, CEO and Co-Founder of Titan. Titan is a leading developer of software and services for advancing Bitcoin mining at scale. Built by miners for miners, Titan makes mining easy, profitable, and scalable through advanced mining management software and North America's first enterprise-grade mining pool. Titan was formed and founded in September 2018 by Ryan Condron, Jeff Garzik and Matthew Roszak. Most mining management software options are either incomplete or difficult to scale. The Titan software makes management and optimization easy for cryptocurrency mines of any size. Titan's Next Generation Mining Pool offers a powerful North American alternative and a way for the continent's Bitcoin miners to achieve the efficiency and scale enjoyed by miners in other regions. Ryan is an OG, he was introduced to the crypto space in late 2012 and quickly got plugged into the mining community. Some of his early contributions include helping to launch the profitability calculator site Coinwarz.com in early 2013. He went on to launch several other high profile projects in the space throughout 2013 and 2014 including a hardware comparison site, a cloud mining service, and a customize-able profit switching platform with 80 different alt-coin mining pools. In 2017 he joined the company Bloq as a principal engineer and in late 2018 co-founded a new mining software startup inside Bloq Labs called Titan Industries. He has been a software engineer for over 15 years and was a CTO at multiple software startups, and ran his own software company for over 5 years. In our discussion we cover the evolution of the mining space, Titan, Coinwarz and the early days of Bitcoin mining, and much more. We do a deep dive into how the mining space has evolved and Ryan's personal experience being an early minner. We also discuss how Satoshi would view the current state of the mining industry. Ryan explains Titan and how they are democratizing mining/hashpower.  ParaSwap: If you want to make a swap at the best price across the DeFi market, check out https://untoldstories.link/paraswap. In today’s episode I talk with Jeff Garzik, the Bitcoin core developer turned DeFi builder. Jeff comes from leading Bloq, a blockchain infrastructure company focusing on enterprises. As much as decentralized finance is exciting and groundbreaking, he believes its lacking professionalism. Jeff believes DeFi needs to be easy for retail users and for institutional users, not just for crypto natives. With that goal in mind, Bloq is launching Vesper, a decentralized protocol for users to gain passive interest on their crypto. The innovation relative to other yield bouncers, is that users can pick a risk level and the protocol will invest in different strategies accordingly. It both competes with, and uses Yearn Finance. We also talked about what’s next for DeFi, and how he believes the space will trend towards “hybrid finance,” where traditional finance will progressively adopt this infrastructure to become more open and global.

This is in relation to the Craig Wright versus the estate of Dave Kleiman lawsuit over 1.1 million Bitcoins (BTC). This subpoena suggests that the federal court is using this case in order to acquire critical early information about Satoshi and Bitcoin (BTC), which may be an abuse of power. That being said, this case may reveal previously unknown information about the early days of Bitcoin (BTC), and is perhaps the most important case to watch in the crypto space.
