The Emerging Role of Blood Tests in Improving Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis  Lori La Bey explores the new path of utilizing blood tests to diagnose Alzheimer's disease.  She speaks with two professionals in the industry and one person living with dementia but also received several questions from our audience that she will be asking our panel as well. Dr. Teodora Stoica is a Medical Science Liaison for ALZpath, an Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis company. With her strong neuroscience and science communication background, Teodora provides valuable resources to clinicians regarding ALZpath's products, namely ALZpathDx, a simple blood test available now that tests for Alzheimer's pathology in the brain. Dr. Lawren Vandevrede is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UCSF and his goal is to provide outstanding clinical care to patients with cognitive problems and their loved ones. His clinical and research interests are in advancing the care of patients with neurodegenerative disorders, either through the development of novel therapeutics or increasing our understanding of the disease process. Ginger Smith is living with dementia and has stepped into an activist and advocate role speaking her truth about living with dementia and raising awareness for all dealing with it. She regularly participates in Dementia Chats educational videos sponsored by Alzheimer's Speaks as well as many other organizations. Learn: Is the blood test just for Alzheimer's disease or all different forms of dementia? What does the blood test look at? Is it a finger prick or a test tube of blood? What is the theory behind the diagnosis? Wasn't the Amyloid Plaque Theory disproved years ago? Why do we keep hearing about this? How accurate is the test? What is the benefit of early diagnosis? How will this affect my medical insurance, driving, and independence in the future? Will there be additional tests in the future once diagnosed? Is this test covered by insurance? What is the turnaround time for the test? Will there be counseling associated with positive results for patients?  Watch the Video Interview Below https://youtu.be/igK7-UJpyrk Listen and Subscribe to Alzheimer's Speaks on Apple Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-emerging-role-of-blood-tests-in-improving/id986940432?i=1000662411191 Listen and Subscribe to Alzheimer's Speaks on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WsMe0BEoG1ozXPZSRAYE3https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WsMe0BEoG1ozXPZSRAYE3 Other Podcasts https://pod.link/986940432 Dementia Map https://www.dementiamap.com/events/#!event/2024/7/16/the-emerging-role-of-blood-tests-in-improving-alzheimer-apos-s-disease-diagnosis Alzheimer's Speaks Blog https://alzheimersspeaks.com/the-emerging-role-of-blood-tests-in-improving-alzheimers-disease-diagnosis/   Contact Information Dr. Teodora Stoica https://www.linkedin.com/in/tstoica/  For further questions, please visit our website and fill out the inquiry form https://alzpath.bio/contact/  Dr. Lawren Vandevrede https://www.linkedin.com/in/lawren-vandevrede-400ba6140/ Ginger Smith https://www.facebook.com/trek1937   Contact Lori La Bey with questions or branding needs at https://www.alzheimersspeaks.com/ Alzheimer's Speaks Radio - Shifting dementia care from crisis to comfort around the world one episode at a time by raising all voices and delivering sound news, not just sound bites since 2011. Deception is everywhere. Fake psychics, dodgy investment deals, cults, and pesky scam calls can be hard to detect, even for the smartest or most vigilant individuals. This poses the question of what makes us vulnerable and what precautions we can take?  Joining us for this episode are two exceptional cognitive scientists, Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons. Through studies and findings from their highly anticipated book, "Nobody's Fool, Why We Get Taken In, and What We Can Do About It" they provide us with valuable insight into how to navigate the treacherous world of deception.  In this fascinating conversation, Christopher and Daniel unveil the cognitive biases that plague us all while offering practical ways to safeguard ourselves from being duped. Drawing upon real-life situations, they come equipped with an arsenal of tactics that can be incorporated into your daily life and that won't breed paranoia or leave you in a perpetual state of vigilance—quite the opposite! Their goal is to provide you with the knowledge to navigate life confidently, cautiously, and securely. Listen and Learn:  Is everyone susceptible to being duped? How have Daniel and Christopher become savvier at recognizing scams as a result of writing and researching their book, Nobody's Fool? Daniel's clever suggestion for protecting your family from scam calls   How ‘truth bias' can make us more vulnerable in day-to-day life  Why do we often fail to see something that's right in front of us? Even something so glaringly apparent? Principle of focus: what does it mean, and how is it used as a means to deceive? How our beliefs and expectations can deter us from seeing what is actually there and how to avoid falling victim to the trap Why it's crucial to consider all of the information that you're missing when interpreting information or data that is presented to you How can we protect ourselves from being fooled when the risk is high? The “illusory truth effect”: why do we have a tendency to treat familiarity as a sign of fact? How can we find that balance between accepting the truth bias and being cautious? How to Lead a Team Without the Hiring/Firing Boom and Bust Knowing how to lead a team (especially when your goal is to scale to 7 figures) is so much more than just hiring people and assigning them their roles.  Whether your team is just a few people or steadily increasing, you're going to run into situations where you wonder if this person is the right fit…or if it's time to fire and move on.  BUT… most of my 6 and multi-6 figure clients often think they need to fire too soon.  You don't want to carry the weight of an under-performing team member when you (and the other members) have full to-do lists.  However, our team members are usually a direct reflection of our leadership. If your member is not showing up in the way you need them to, this might not actually be their fault.  If you're experiencing conflicts with your team members (whether that be lack of productivity, lack of results, or any other persistent issues), Scale to Seven® might be the right mastermind for you to join.  Inside, I help you scale from 6 to 7 figures with systems and leadership skills that scale your business without overworking or burnout. Apply here    Signs You Might Not Be Leading Your Team Successfully Maybe you haven't communicated what you need effectively.  Maybe you haven't trained them as clearly as you thought.  Maybe they do not have the right resources or equipment to do their job the right way.  In today's episode of the Scale to Seven® podcast, I'm giving you the Pre-Correction Checklist you need to make sure you're not the cause of a team member's lack of performance in your company!  Remember, if you fire a team member because of a gap in your own leadership skills, you're only going to find the same problems repeated again and again in new members until you fix that trait in your own leadership.  If you're having problems with a team member's under performance or lack of results, be sure to listen to this episode to make sure you're addressing the root of the problem - and not slapping a Band-Aid on the surface of a deeper issue!   In This Episode You'll Learn: Is it you or is it them?  You'll learn how to lead a team effectively so that you're giving each team member everything they need to succeed in your company - that means recognizing where your leadership gaps are hurting their performance.  You'll learn how to tell if your team member is underperforming or if you're not giving them the support and clarity they need,  You'll get my Pre-Correction Checklist to make sure you've done everything on your part to support the team member before coming in with discipline or correction,  And you'll break that hiring/firing cycle by getting to the root of the problem, so the same issues don't keep popping up from new hire to hire.    Featured on the Show: If you've already scaled to 6 figures (or multiple 6 figures), you'll need rock solid, scalable systems and leadership skills to get you all the way to 7 figures.  In my mastermind, Scale to Seven®, I'm giving you exactly what you need to scale your business (and your freedom) to 7 figures.   Today’s Guest I'm back again, with another solo episode! As is often the case, this week's topic is about something that's been on my mind lately, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. I doubt I'm the only person who ever wonders this! I have received a lot of healing in the past month and a half, ever since a really deep healing retreat that I went on. However, this healing was deceptively “gentle” (yet deep), and since I haven't been doing any mindset work with myself, I didn't realize how much healing I was actually doing. Healing is change, and change can be stressful. We're stepping into a new version of ourselves, and sometimes into a new identity. This requires energy, and it requires downtime to integrate the healing and the changes. Sometimes we need to take a look at all the inner work that we do and ask ourselves: is it too much? Do we need to press pause for a while? How much is too much?   Listen To This Episode        What You'll Learn Is it possible to do too much healing and inner work? How to know how much is too much healing for YOU How to find the right balance for you (including the right therapies at the right time, and at the right frequency) What to do when you've reached your saturation point How to create new habits for healing moving forward   Things I Discussed 279 Holly Worton ~ Downtime: Are You Getting It?
