Loving the people the mind deems "loveable" is an easy task. Loving those who rub the mind the wrong way is difficult. And yet doing so is the truest testament to the meaning of love. To love someone who isn't easily “lovable” by the mind's standards is to access the depths of love from the space of the heart. Today's episode of the podcast features Dr. Rollin McCraty, Director of Research at the HeartMath Institute. The primary focus of the HeartMath Institute is on the connection between the heart, brain, and emotions, and how this connection can impact health, well-being, and overall performance. Here are some key aspects of HeartMath:Heart-Brain Connection: HeartMath emphasizes the importance of the heart in influencing our emotions, cognitive functions, and overall physiological state. Research conducted by HeartMath suggests that the heart communicates with the brain in ways that can affect our emotional responses, decision-making processes, and stress levels.Coherence: One of the central concepts in HeartMath is "heart coherence." This refers to a state in which the heart's rhythms become more ordered and harmonious. Achieving heart coherence is believed to have a positive impact on mental and emotional well-being, as well as physical health.Techniques and Tools: HeartMath provides various techniques and tools to help individuals achieve heart coherence. These techniques often involve practices like rhythmic breathing, focusing on positive emotions, and using biofeedback devices to monitor and improve heart rate variability.Applications: HeartMath techniques and tools are used in various contexts, including stress management, performance optimization, and emotional regulation. They have been applied in educational settings, corporate environments, healthcare, and sports performance.Research and Science: The Institute of HeartMath conducts research to explore the scientific basis of their methods and to demonstrate the benefits of heart coherence and emotional regulation. Some studies suggest that HeartMath techniques can help reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and enhance cognitive performance. It's important to note that while many people find value in HeartMath practices and techniques, the scientific community may not universally accept all of its claims, and more research is ongoing to better understand the mechanisms and effects of these practices.I hope you enjoy this episode with Dr. McCraty, which is but a tiny portion of what you'll discover studying HeartMath in-depth!In this interview with Rollin, you'll discover:-A bit of Rollin's life history and career measuring consciousness...02:00-What is "heart math" and how does it equate to "heart coherence"?...06:00-A case study of how just one incoherent person can distort the energy in an entire room...11:00-Does our physical heart have its own consciousness separate from our mind?...14:40-Coherence correlated to physical activity...17:00-How collective action and thought affect global trends, for better or worse...21:30-Any one of us have the power to build or destroy an entire city with our level of consciousness...25:30-How to learn more about HeartMath™...30:10-And much more...Resources mentioned:Global Coherence PulseRollin's profile at Heart MathAbout the guest:LinkedInRollin McCraty, Ph.D., director of research at the HeartMath Institute, is a professor at Florida Atlantic University. Have you ever had times when you felt like you were able to achieve outstanding results without much effort? Conversely, have you ever gone through phases where your energy simply felt “off” and you weren't sure why?  One compelling explanation for these fluctuations that we all experience stems from the earth's solar cycles and energetic fields. While it may seem that these forces are out of our control, research indicates that we are constantly feeding into them at the same time that they are affecting us. By becoming more aware of your own energetic system and those operating around you, as well as by taking steps to self-regulate and become more coherent, you may be able to access greater productivity and harmony within yourself, your teams, and the world at large.  As a psychophysiologist and the Director of Research at the HeartMath Institute, Dr. Rollin McCraty studies the physiology of emotion, heart-brain communication, and the global interconnectivity between people and the earth's energetic systems. Findings from his research have been applied to the development of many educational programs and technologies to optimize individual and organizational health, performance, and quality of life. Dr. McCraty has also acted as principal investigator in numerous studies examining the effects of emotions on heart-brain interactions and autonomic cardiovascular, hormonal, and immune system function, as well as in studies to determine the benefits of self-regulation focused interventions and heart rhythm coherence feedback in diverse organizational, educational and clinical populations. In Episode 156 of The MINDSet Game® podcast, Dr. McCraty discusses the following: The latest research findings from the Global Coherence Initiative, a science-based cooperative project intended to help unite people in heart-focused love and intention Incredible findings from other studies that have explored how the earth's energetic fields affect humans both individually and collectively  How greater coherence can create more successful teams, as well as tools that can help leaders elevate their own energy and that of their teams To learn more about research from the HeartMath Institute, visit https://www.heartmath.org.   To subscribe to The MINDset Game, visit www.TheMINDsetGame.com.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, most people develop baseline thought patterns over time that shape how they feel emotionally and how they respond to life events. While it may seem that these thought patterns are produced exclusively by the brain, the heart also plays a major role – and in order to change thought patterns that are no longer serving you, it's essential to shift the rhythms of the heart.  As the Director of Research of the HeartMath Research Center at the HeartMath® Institute, Dr. Rollin McCraty has extensively studied the connection between the heart and the mind, as well as the physiology of emotion and how emotions influence cognitive processes, behavior, and health. In Episode 85 of The MINDSet Game® podcast, Dr. McCraty discusses some of his findings as he shares: How the brain's amygdala functions, and the role that the heart plays in processing thoughts and emotions How your heart's energy can affect those around you, and why heart-centered change is the key to improving dynamics in families, organizations, and other groups Simple tools for shifting your physiology into a calm, coherent state and gradually replacing maladaptive thought patterns with ones that will serve you more effectively The benefits that these heart-centered practices can have for you, your relationships, and the world at large  Dr. McCraty's research interests include the physiology of emotion, heart-brain communication and the global interconnectivity between people and the earth's energetic systems. Findings from this research have been applied to developing tools and technology to optimize individual and organizational health, performance, and quality of life. Specialized in managing Chronic Pain, PTSD, Relationships Stress, and Anxiety. The author of Quantum Medical Hypnosis™ (QMH) and the creator of Quantum Medical Hypnosis™ Treatment Protocol, an extraordinary breakthrough in treating trauma, stress, and pain. He has written several books where he has introduced this revolutionary technique of QMH and shared the stories of so many clients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and how QMH helped them overcome the adverse effect of traumatic situations, namely; stress, pain, and suffering. The results will surprise you.Learn how to reprogram the mind; regulate and control emotions; how to breathe through stressful memories and thoughts; control pain levels; replace negative thoughts with positive emotions and inoculate yourself against future negativity-related illness; and achieve more health, energy, and motivation.PTSD symptoms could lead to a significant burden on the united states economy, an estimated $635 billion per year, explains Dr. Ezzat Moghazy, MD (Integrative Medicine). This study revealed that; there was a significant increase in the HRV coherence scores overall between prior QMH implementation and after QMH entanglement, from 34 to 41, with t-test (0.032). Associated with a remarkable decrease in the participants' symptoms. In addition, it was clear that aging is associated with HRV measurement declined, in the older group age between 59 and 73 the coherence has decreased from 34 to 43 as an indication of increased mortality. The most significant result here was the general coherence between the heart and the brain. As Dr. McCraty introduced the term physiological coherence to describe the degree of order, harmony, and stability in various rhythmic activities, had increased radically from 34 to 41, with t-test (0.032), In summary, QMH had a positive instantaneous impact on increasing HRV and improving the PTSD symptoms including pain and stress. It is recommended that in order for the full potential healing to take place the quantum entanglement has to be present.Hypnotherapy is directed hypnosis or a trance-like state of attention.  It is attained with the support of a clinical hypnotherapist. This trance-like state is quite similar to being completely absorbed in one's thoughts or meditations. Presenting this topic, we have Dr. Ezzat Moghazy - Doctor of Integrative Medicine, Clinical Hypnotherapist in the beautiful Denver, Colorado, USA. Associated with a remarkable decrease in the participants’ symptoms. In this state, one can turn their focus entirely inward to discover and use the natural resources deep within themselves, which can help them make modifications or regain control in specific regions of their life.Learn more at https://www.mybesthealer.com/Yours,Dr. Ezzat Moghazyhttps://www.mybesthealer.com/Support the show (https://www.mybesthealer.com/)

Do you ever wake up feeling a sense of anxiety or grief, but have no personal reason to feel that way? As it turns out, we are all connected on a global scale of synchronization through a global information field. Dr. Rollin McCraty has spent his life studying the connection between the heart, mind, body, and energetic fields and is here today to share the results of his research with you. Key Takeaways If you are looking to better understand the resident frequencies of the global coherence, you must: Understand how the heart communicates with the brain, body, and people around you Accept that globally we are synchronized to each other and the earth  Find energy through magnetic fields and feed the field with positivity and compassion Gaining Clarity On The Heart’s Coherence with Dr. Rollin McCraty Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. is the research director at the HeartMath Institute and a Florida Atlantic University professor. Dr. McCraty is a psychophysiologist who studies the physiology of emotion. Focused on the mechanisms by which our emotions influence the cognitive process, behavior, health, and the global interconnectivity between people and the Earth’s energetic systems, he is passionate about the heart’s role in health, behavior, performance, and quality of life. The Connection Between The Heart and The Body There are four primary ways in which the heart connects to the body and communicates with the brain. The quality of these neuro signals affects your brain's function and your perceptions of the world. The magnetic fields of our Earth carry this information and can impact our ability to synchronize with each other and the world around us. Heart rate variability, intuition, and field line residences all play a part in these frequencies and can have a huge effect on your experiences in the world. Improving the Global Information Field For The Greater Good Throughout his research, Dr. McCraty has proven the slow wave of global synchronization that is taking place. We are all contributing to the global information field, and Dr. McCraty argues that by feeding this field with positivity and compassion that it is possible to become better in sync with ourselves, our peers, and the world as a whole. By taking self-responsibility for ourselves, we can increase inclusiveness, collaboration, and cooperation to build a healthier and happier global information field. Dr. McCarty is making the deniable undeniable and confirming what many of us intuitively know to be true. Are you ready to align your heart and brain and start feeding into the field positively? Every cell in our body feels that magnetic field, as do other people around us.” (6:10) “What we are really showing is what all the great philosophers and religions all around the planet have been talking about for millennia, which is that the heart is that doorway, if you will, to that deeper part of ourselves.” (16:03) “It is metaphorically like measuring the heart rhythms and brain waves of planet earth. As it turns out, it may not be a metaphor, but ill keep it at that for now.” (23:24) “The only thing that could really explain this is that they were all synchronizing to something external that was everywhere in California, some environmental signal. It turned out to be the time during the magnetic field. Exactly the power of the rhythms that I was talking about earlier that overlap our hearts and brains ” (33:27) “Were finding that people really are synchronizing globally, which really is amazing. We like to talk about ‘on some level we are all connected’, I hear that all the time. And what these studies are showing is that we really are, and this is the level are connected at.” (35:49)   Links HeartMath Institute Website Heart Intelligence by Doc Childre, Deborah Rozman, Howard Martin, and Rollin McCraty Science of the Heart: Volume 2 by Dr. Rollin McCraty mWave Technology Inner Balance Device Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook | Instagram

As a clinical hypnotherapist, I see everyday cases with main concern of anxiousness and worries because of COVID 19. The mental impact of this Pandemic is as high as the physical impact. In fact, I think addressing the mental health is as important as taking care of physical health. As far as what we need to do in such an environment is to take good care of our mental health and wellbeing is crucial for our physical health. I suggest taking a few minutes every day while your eyes are closed and ask yourself this question: what can I see, hear, smell, taste, and feel now? You will be amazed by the results. In these few moments, you will experience the true self inside you that is safe and healthy. With some practice, you will anchor yourself at the stage of peace and unconditional love leads to a better state of mind and a healthy self. Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. is Director of Research of the HeartMath Research Center at the HeartMath Institute. As a psycho-physiologist, Dr. McCraty's research interests include the physiology of emotion, heart-brain communication and the global interconnectivity between people and the earth's energetic systems. Findings from this research have been applied to the development of tools and technology to optimize individual and organizational health, performance, and quality of life.   Dr. McCraty has acted as Principal Investigator in numerous studies examining the effects of emotions on heart–brain interactions and on autonomic, cardiovascular, hormonal, and immune system function, and outcome studies to determine the benefits of positive emotion-focused interventions and heart rhythm coherence feedback in diverse organizational, educational and various clinical populations. He has been featured in a number of documentary films such as I am, The Truth, The Joy of Sox move, The Power of the Heart, Solar Revolution, and The Living Matrix among many others. To learn more about HeartMath, go to HeartMath.com.   Dr. McCraty had so much wisdom to share about the science behind heart intelligence and on today's topic of intuition. While this is a longer episode, I can't recommend this interview enough. You will get a better understanding of how our heart is really what leads our brain and then body's response. Here are some of the most powerful takeaways:     Things We Learned From This Episode   The biggest stress point in the world is because of a lack of alignment of our heart (where intuition is found) and our mind. There are three kinds of intuition: Implicit Knowledge - what most of us are aware of, as this is our unconscious memory, otherwise known as 'dual process theory'. A secondary kind is known as Insight. This is what we'd refer to as our 'ah-ha' moments, meaning our unconscious is still at work just in a slower manner than with implicit knowledge. Energetic Sensitivity - This is our nervous system's ability to detect and respond to signals in the environment. The commonly used phrase, 'the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife', refers to this idea of being able to sense other's energy. We know scientifically that our heart radiates in a magnetic field that is at least 3 feet past our body. Empaths and those with deep empathy and sensitivity to energy can feel what others are feeling. Non-local Intuition - this is the kind of intuition we can't explain as it's across time or space. Any human being with a heart can learn to better tune in and connect with their heart intelligence. What we know from research and scientific data is that contrary to common thought our heart is the predictor of reaction before our brain. Our heart shifts first, then on to the brain, and lastly, we get effects in our body like a gut reaction, chills or stress response. A beautiful unifying factor is that all religions regard to the heart as the seat of intelligence. We are starting to understand from a scientific standpoint how and why this happens. The language of intuition is emotion. Comments like 'this feels right' is actually right on point. It is our feelings, whether it be joy, peace, overwhelm, frustration, etc. that allows us to tune into our intuition.   A few great books to start with if interested to dive deeper: Heart Intelligence, The Science of the Heart and A Business Plan for Peace             Enjoying the show? This week, I lost a dear friend of mine - Laura Holdcroft (Laura Kraemer). This episode is definitely dedicated to Laura. She was my roommate when I was studying, I was her Maid of Honour and she was just the most beautiful person inside and out.   As I was thinking of her, I really regretted not seeing her more often. We’d text and communicate but, I wish I would’ve seen her more often. It got me thinking, about how much I appreciated all the things that she taught me and brought into my life. The laugher, the chats, advice and just being free to be ourselves without judgement.   It got me thinking about others in my life. What was I grateful for.. It lead me to do some research, I know… I’m a consultant, I can’t help but research. I started to wonder what is the definition of gratitude. Harvard medical School had a great definition:   “A thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives. As a result, gratitude also helps people connect to something larger than themselves as individuals – whether to other people, nature, or a higher power”   There are so many definitions out there. What was fascinating to me was that there are 2 stages of gratitude according to Dr. Robert Emmons: The acknowledgement of goodness in one’s life.  That we actually are saying YES to life. That some of the sources of this ‘goodness’ is coming from outside ourselves.   What I find wonderful about this art of recognizing and be grateful, is that this recognition is being done unconditionally and unprompted from something. We are not doing it as an exchange in return. We are doing it because something or someone has given us ‘something that is valuable to us and allows us to appreciate life’. It’s a really great article from positive psychology program. Read the Gratitude Appreciation here.   Then, I started to wonder what are the benefits of being grateful. We have learned the positive benefits for being vulnerable, but what about gratitude. I have been hearing about gratitude journals for years. Didn’t think much of them of them till today.   Robert Emmons did some research about the study of gratitude. Here were some interesting findings:   Improved Well Being- being grateful made people more agreeable, open and less neurotic Relationships -  tend to be more willing to forgive others and less narcissistic Optimism & Happiness - increased optimism, which makes sense because we’ve have learned that gratitude means that we are saying YES to Life. Which, apparently also reduces your inner fears. Love this one. This article from Wanderlustworker stated that it’s a hard to be fearful and grateful at the same time. I guess it makes sense. We are optimistic about the future.   Stronger Self Control - This one surprised me.  I’m just going to read what it says in this article. “Self-Control helps us to be disciplined and focused and to persist with what is subjectively the most important for our long-term well-being. A study by DeSteno et al. in 2014 found that self-control significantly increased when subjects chose gratitude over happiness and feeling neutral. One of the study’s authors, Professor Ye Li, said:   “Showing that emotion can foster self-control and discovering a way to reduce impatience with a simple gratitude exercises opens up tremendous possibilities for reducing a wide range of societal ills from impulse buying and insufficient saving to obesity and smoking.”   I had to digest this one for awhile to reconcile it in my head. I guess, if we are always thinking coulda, woulda shoulda and thinking about regrets, then we are looking backwards. But, if we starting to be more in the moment and appreciating the gifts that are around us, we tend to look to the future and about our future self vision and goals.   What I learned is that gratitude will give us an overall better life. It makes sense, we are in the moment not looking back. Seeing all the different elements that we appreciate and being thankful & grateful for these things. It would make life taste a little sweeter. By the way, this article had mentioned another study that was done by McCraty and colleagues in 1998 that stated that there was a 23% reduction in the stress hormone cortisol.    So, being in the moment and being grateful, we ended up having better lives, stronger self control, lower level of stress and more. I’m in! I’ve definitely drank the Kool Aid.   But where to start?   Listing all the people in your life that you appreciate. Your mom, dad, siblings, friends, colleagues etc… let’s not forget those mentors, those that inspire you, your boss, colleagues and so on. There are so people in your life that go above and beyond to make things easier for you. On that list, has there been someone that has done something that you truly appreciate, but may not have thanked them? What did you appreciate? Write it down. Send them a note or even a letter. Who gets thank you cards or letters anymore? What a double surprise to provide.   To my CanInnovate podcast listeners, I am really thankful that you invest in the time to hear me each week. I am always so grateful, when I get an email or review that told me what resonated with you.  How it helped you. I often think that when I’m doing this episodes, that I’m just talking to myself. Like a little girl, pretending to hold an Oscar or pretending to do a cooking show. Those emails and messages that I get, are the most precious gift to me. So, I truly thank you all.     So, my dear friend Laura. I’m sooo grateful for having you in my life. You taught me how to be level headed and funny at the same time. Laura, used to work at Sick Kids Hospital in the Infectious disease division. Everytime I struggled with a problem at work and thought it was the end of the world. We’ve all had those moments. Laura, you always provided me with a real perspective. You really saw different dimensions of life. The good, the sad and the miracles. I thank you for all of those things.     I encourage each and everyone of you to take a pause and think about all the things that you’re grateful for.   In fact, I’ve had the Golden Girls theme song stuck in my head for the past few days. So, I thought I’d close with this.   Thank you for being a friend. Travel down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant. And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew. You would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say, thank you for being a friend   Till next week   Have you checked out the episode about Vulnerability: Episode 58: Vulnerability - the New Advantage Golden Girls YouTube Song Articles mentioned in this blog: Wonderlust Worker: 7 Crucial Reasons Why Gratitude Can Change Your Life Positive Psychology Program: Gratitude Appreciation Gratitude Journals: The One-Minute Gratitude Journal by Brenda Nathan The Five Minute Journal: A Happier You in 5 Minutes a Day by Intelligent Change
