It's the final chapter of our Seagal series and we're looking at the last 15 years of Steven Seagal's human life (he's a god now). He's moved on from appropriating Black music to oppressing Black people in the A&E copaganda classic– 'Steven Seagal: Lawman', and he's discovered his passion for crypto and the Kremlin. Special thanks to Rob of McDojoLife for sharing his expertise and to the former crew members of 'Steven Seagal: Lawman,' who kindly took the time to talk to us for this series.
Our Race Hustlers series is devoted to Fraudsters who appropriate various identities for their own financial gain. In this case, our Fraudster is Steven Seagal and his identities are kaleidoscopic–he's "basically Japanese," a CIA agent, a Navy Seal, an expert marksman, a bonafide cop, and ... maybe Black? According to Seagal, he's everything but Jewish. Today we're tracking how bad acting–on and off the stage–lent Seagal the legitimacy to become a blockbuster star, even when consistently met with media skepticism.Thank you to Rob from McDojoLife for joining us on the show as our martial arts expert. As promised – here is the amazing 1993 Spy Magazine Expose that we drew from in the episode in case you want to read it in its entirety. It's definitely worth it.

Often times the people and videos on McDojoLife are hilarious but there are also criminal elements and cults that Rob exposes as well. Rob discusses it all with us including how started McDojolife, what he believes turns a dojo into a cult, and current self-defense instructors and the danger they can pose when not correctly instructing their students. Here is The RŌL Radio with the extremely passionate, dedicated, and always entertaining Rob Ingram.www.rolacademy.tv 30% discount with ROLRADIO code at checkout. I talk to Rob From McDojoLife. Rob has been a lifelong martial artist with a black belt in Karate and a Purple Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. McDojo life has a massive social media presence that you have likely seen before where it exposes fakes, frauds and phoneys of the martial arts industries. We discuss the elements that make a McDojo, the warning signs and dangers of fake martial arts, and how you can avoid these as a student and coach.
We crossed paths with Rob during the 2019 Century Martial Arts Super Show. At that point in time, we had seen McDojoLife all over our social media feeds and even heard Joe Rogan shout it out on his podcast.Given how there are no regulatory bodies out there that maintain standards and punish bad actors in the Martial Arts world, Rob saw the need to "Keep Martial Arts Legit" as his tagline goes.It might seem controversial on the surface, but when you dig into the reasons why Rob started this initiative you can see what a beneficial force this is.Join us for a Dojo Discussion on cult-like schools, and how Rob is systematically ridding the industry of frauds.
How can some people be so blinded by a cult? This episode is full of controversy and mystery. Due to all the death threats this man has received, we had to leave his name anonymous. So, we will utterly name this as the "McDojo" episode. A man passionate about martial arts and helping others did the heroic action of showing the darkest events lived in the martial arts schools, earning the hatred of people who see the world of martial arts as everything right and good in this life. An organization that, according to our guest, does not have a government body. That's why sexual violence, and pedophilia are some of the perversions frequently performed. ABOUT MCDOJO Rob has been training in martial arts for over 24 years and has dedicated the last 9 years of exposing Mcdojos. On the McDojoLife Instagram page, people from all walks of life are exposed to how deceptive some martial arts disciplines can be. Today, we welcome McdojoLife's founder Rob to discuss what makes a mcdojo, his martial arts journey and his upcoming documentary. Enjoy!
McDojoLife (@mcdojolife) is one of my all time favorite accounts on all of Instagram. The page exposes fake and fraudulent martial artists who teach people tactics such as no-touch knockouts. No only does Rob expose fakes, but he exposes conmen who rip off their students and convicted sex offenders who work with children in martial arts. He is basically a real life super hero! In this podcast episode, Rob talks about how he first got involved in martial arts before the days of McDojoLife. As a child he had a cleft palate and required many surgeries and his mother wouldn't let him participate in sports despite his pleading. But that all changed after some bullies at school beat the crap out of him one day and a friend encouraged him to try martial arts. He started with karate, but eventually moved on to sample a wide variety of martial arts like boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, and Brazilian jiu jitsu. During the podcast episode with Rob, we discuss many theories as to why people follow these fake martial arts masters. We talk about how the rise of MMA and the UFC have shed some light on what works and what doesn't. Rob and McDojoLife are currently in the process of putting together a documentary about fake martial arts and has launched a crowdfunding campaign and hopes to start shooting in August. If you go to the Instagram page @mcdojolifedoc and donate there, you get access to exclusive content as well. ---------- Read more here: https://rolliepeterkin.com/podcast-mcdojolife-rob-exposing-fake-martial-arts/ If you enjoyed this episode, you might want to check out my book, The Cage: Escaping the American Dream, where I detail my journey from Wall Street bond trader to professional MMA fighter.
Dave and Rob have a fun and informative chat with the creator of McDojoLife, featured on various media outlets, including the Joe Rogan Experience, Robert Ingraham to the podcast.Robert didn't create the term McDojo, but he definitely refined it and has went on a campaign to identify schools that qualify to be labeled as such for the good of the people. He lists the 5 transgressions a martial arts academy can make to qualify for as a McDojo, and also the responsibility he has to make sure he doesn't target undeserving schools. From no touch knock outs, pedophiles, fake black belts, or scam artists, Robert has seen them all, and shares stories of his encounters. He also goes into his upcoming documentary, and much more.Just a fair warning, this episode has a good amount of cursing (not with any hostility), so if you got kids around, you might want to cover their ears. :)You can learn more from Robert Ingraham by following him on Instagram, and visit his YouTube for full length videos:https://instagram.com/mcdojolifehttps://youtube.com/mcdojolifeVisit our sponsors: KimuraTrap.com for the ultimate DVD set and online course and mastering the world famous Kimura Trap System. McDojos, and all that they mean to the martial arts community, are the topic of conversation today on our first-ever group chat. Group Chat: McDojos - Episode 119 Today's episode is a bit different - it's our first group conversation. A few weeks ago, we were approached by Sensei Robert Ingram. Sensei Ingram is the man behind the McDojo Life brand. McDojo Life is a martial arts entertainment group that brings you humorous martial arts content. Most of their content is published through social media. McDojo Life has quite a large following, and for good reason - their stuff is funny! We also brought back a past guest, whistlekick's good friend & host of the Martial Thoughts podcast, Sensei Jaredd Wilson. Jeremy joins the two of them to discuss McDojos, integrity in martial arts instruction and instructors and a lot more. For those unfamiliar with the term, a McDojo is a derogatory term that refers to a martial arts school that doesn't live up to the standards others set. It's completely subjective, and we discuss that as part of the show. We had a great conversation and all three of us enjoyed the time together. If you like this format, please let us know and we'll look at doing more of them. Thanks for listening and have an amazing day! During the episode, we talked about Episode 69, our episode where we talk about martial arts instructors & integrity. On today's episode, we reference the Redneck Jiu Jitsu YouTube Channel For More Information on Sensei Ingram and McDojo Life You can find McDojo Life on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook & Twitter. Soon, the website McDojoLife.com will be active. For More Information on Sensei Jaredd Wilson and Martial Thoughts You can find Sensei Jaredd Wilson on Episode 76, his previous podcast appearance. You can find the Martial Thoughts podcast here, website.
