What if your pricing strategy wasn't tied to your self-worth—but instead guided by simple supply and demand? In the coaching world, we often hear messages like “charge what you're worth” or “higher prices mean higher value.” But what if those beliefs are fueling unnecessary emotional drama and confusion in your business? In this episode of Success Genius, I'm joined again by the always insightful Mark Butler—fractional CFO, bookkeeper, and coach—for a candid conversation about pricing. Together, we dismantle the “self-worth pricing” myth and explore why pricing is a business decision, not a personal identity crisis. We discuss how to use price as a throttle, what it actually means to have a “full” calendar, and how lowering your price doesn't mean you're lowering your value—it might just mean you're increasing demand. This is a must-listen if you've ever agonized over your rates, compared your prices to others, or wondered if charging less means you believe less in your work.Topics covered in this episode include:Why pricing is a strategic business decision—not a reflection of your self-worthThe real role of supply and demand in determining what to chargeHow to define a “full practice” on your own termsPractical ways to reduce emotional drama around pricingIf you've ever second-guessed your rates, felt pressured to “charge your worth,” or wondered if lower prices mean lower value, this episode is for you. Tune in for a refreshing, economics-backed conversation that brings clarity and calm to how you price your services.Resources Mentioned:To Hire Mark For Bookkeeping Services: https://letsdothebooks.comCheck Out Mark's Coaching Resources: https://markbutler.comListen to A Podcast for Coaches: https://podcastforcoaches.transistor.fmConnect with Mark: support@markbutler.comGet The Book: https://book.neillwilliams.com/bookLearn More About TEAM90: https://neillwilliams.com/team90Book A Team Turnaround Call: https://neillwilliams.com/team-turnaround-callContact Us: support@neillwilliams.com

In this episode, we are diving into the headlines that had everyone talking! We kicked things off with Michelle Obama's surprising hesitation about Obama's surprising hesitation about Barack running for president and how her brother stepped in to change her mind. Then we switch gears to the wild world of reality and celebrity drama from the RHOA, to Dawn Robinson of EnVogue revealing she's living out of her car. We break down the Breakfast Club's messy moments with Jess Hilarious, the ongoing Jonathan Majors saga, and the Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert split that's got social media buzzing. Grab your headphones-because Michelle said no, but this drama? It definitely said yes.

My daughter's panic attack and what it taught me about emotional flashbacks and healing.Main Topic: Getting to NeutralThe Problem: Why jumping to “you're fine” or forcing positivity doesn't help in moments of distress.Emotional Flashbacks: What they are, how they show up unexpectedly, and how past trauma lives in the body. How I Handled It Differently:Allowing emotions to run their course rather than pushing them away.Encouraging her to feel rather than fight her fear. Why neutrality is often a better goal than positivity.Neutral Thinking Over Positive Thinking:Instead of “just think positive,” focus on what is true and actionable.Example: Rather than saying “You're fine,” acknowledge, “This feels really scary, and you're allowed to feel it.”Emotions Are Temporary:Like a toddler throwing a tantrum, emotions burn out if you let them run.We don't have to fear feelings—we just need to feel them.No Drama, Just Data:Negative thinking adds unnecessary weight.Neutrality means stating facts: “This is happening. What do I want to do next?”Don't Let the Past Predict the Future:Divorce trauma doesn't define you.Just because you felt unsafe then doesn't mean you have to live in fear now.For Divorced Women: How to Apply Neutral ThinkingWhen an emotional flashback hits, focus on the present reality: Where am I? Am I safe?If supporting a friend or child, hold space instead of forcing solutions.Instead of spiraling into “Why is this happening to me?” ask, “What is my next best step?”Closing Thoughts:Neutral thinking doesn't erase pain, but it keeps us from getting stuck in it.You don't have to force a silver lining—just take the next step forward.Let's normalize feeling ALL the things without fear.PostDivorceGlowUp.comEmail: quinn@postdivorceglowup.com

Finding the resources and funding for learning tools and enriching events is a consistent challenge for many districts. The PTO is often a largely underutilized resource, but most people cringe at the thought of having to attend one more committee meeting, especially in the evenings. Yet a well-run PTO can help take some of the load off of school staff and leverage resources in the community. That's why I was excited to talk to Christina Hidek from PTO Answers about how school staff and PTOs can work together. Christina Hidek is a recovering attorney turned Professional Organizer and certified PTO volunteer nerd. She founded PTO Answers 7 years ago to boost family engagement in schools and empower parents to improve their child's educational experience and school community through PTA/PTO involvement. She's been an active PTO leader for the past 14 years and hosts the vibrant 7900 plus member Super Star PTO Leaders Facebook Group. When she's not volunteering, you can find her in her garden, listening to the latest Katherine Center audiobook or walking the family dogs.In this conversation, we discuss:✅How to get people to show up to the first PTO meeting (hint: It's not by asking, “Hey, want to join the PTO?”)✅Ways people can get involved if they can't come to PTO meetings.✅Examples of low-maintenance, high-profit fundraisers.✅Deciding what events and initiatives are a priority for your district.✅Creative ways to get resources, funding, and donations. This week's episode is all about a common pattern that happens when people are really excited about Reality-Based Leadership, or they just learned some of our new techniques after a session. They accidentally begin weaponizing Reality-Based Leadership, and the ideas. We get it, you're excited about some new approaches and really looking forward to trying to shift a place your team has been stuck, or an individual has been stuck for a long time. What often happens, is people grab the harshest part of the message and use it on the person that's running away from them the fastest, and then the content doesn't work. This is one example of many that are talked about in this week's podcast of where the loving part of Reality-Based Leadership gets weaponized and used for evil. So today's episode, Cy and Alex discuss some of the ways that great techniques that can work most of the time, get used in a way that's harsh and actually backfires for people that are excited about Reality-Based Leadership. This can affect even the most seasoned practitioners of our content and tools, so this is a great reminder. In fact every two years just like what sparked this episode, there's usually an example that comes through that someone grabbed a deeper part of the philosophy and used that first in their very next meeting after a session, and we hear reports that it backfired, then the groups a little bit turned off from RBL. This podcast is designed to help those who may have experienced setbacks, offering a chance to reset, as well as those eager to maintain the momentum they've built with their teams. It's all about preventing the misuse of the tools, practices, and techniques of Reality-Based Leadership, while ensuring we focus on loving people up so we can call people up to greatness.

A leader recently asked Alex and Cy, “What happens when you're trying Reality-Based Leadership or using a tool and everything goes silent? Does that mean that the tools not working? What do I do when there's silence? What do I do when that silence feels like it has some extra tension attached to it, is it working?” All of these questions came up and in this podcast, Cy and Alex explore their own experiences in coaching with running their own business facilitating tools that have led to silence. And what that really means from a Reality-Based Leadership perspective. Many people believe that something is not working when there's silence after introducing a tool technique, coaching question, but we would say that actually means you are just beginning Reality-Based Leadership and getting to the good stuff, cultivating accountability. Self reflection is the foundation of accountability, and self reflection often includes silence. So in this episode, we're going to share with you ways to use silence to better your leadership and prove your use of the tools and most importantly, moving people from why we can't to how we could. And moving people from where they're stuck into where they're hoping to be. You'll love this episode. We had fun doing it and can't wait to hear your feedback on ways you can use these tools in your leadership.

Have a Social 4th of July! (Let's talk about socializing and planning as a QPOC LGBTQ+ person). NO DRAMA for me here. I'm not mad. I'm planning on coping with what comes my way. Here is how I'm viewing things. People. Events. Adjustments. Flexibility. Fun. Sleep. Rest. And recovery. Harnessing my energy to be able and available and ready to connect with friends and catch up and have some authentic time together. Some time will be fun. Some will be party mode. Some will be frustrating. It's fine to get frustrated or even angry but I'm seeing how important it is to keep reflecting and tuning in to myself. Here's how I'm doing that!
