We had the pleasure of interviewing TOBi over Zoom video!Nigerian born, Los Angeles-based artist TOBi announces new album PANIC set to be released on October 12th via RCA Records. Alongside the announcement, TOBi shares new bold and fiery track “Flatline” featuring label mate Kenny Mason. Backed by a recurring staccato piano, the track is a smooth blend of both TOBi and Kenny's vocality and highlights TOBi's quick-witted lyricism. In addition to the new release, TOBi and his team have also created an interactive digital universe and social fan club. You can now join at PANIC.FM.TOBi on his single “Flatline”: "This is unapologetic soul music. Power is a theme I explore a lot in my music and this one is about personal power. I wanted anyone hearing this song to feel that energy going into any situation. A game, a job interview, a performance. Transform that pain into power." Earlier this year, TOBi took home another Juno Award for Rap Album/EP of the Year for Shall I Continue? making this his second win following his 2020 album ELEMENTS Vol. 1 that won the 2021 Rap Recording of the Year. Last year, his elevated COLORS performance of “Flowers” was released and his song “Move” was featured on Netflix's Do Revenge starring Camila Mendes (Riverdale) and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things). He also performed at Afrochella at the end of last year. Prior to this, “All Night Long,” “She Loves Me” and “Flowers,” he released his Alex Goose-produced single and video “Before We Panic” featuring Mikky Ekko (written for Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Drake), which was a prelude to his forthcoming album. The artistic visual was shot and directed by Dom McLennon (BROCKHAMPTON) and Jeremy Grier. We want to hear from you! Breaking news from Ardalan and T.Williams at Basscoast Festival

Video version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03N5Bd9FunM Welcome back to another episode of the Rave Room Podcast. In this episode I sat down with 2 absolute legends. We spoke about how they enjoyed their Basscoast festival experience, their music and so much more. Ardalan Enamored first by traditional Iranian music and classic jazz and rock, Ardalan's taste began to transform with his childhood years spent moving back and forth from Iran and California. “Mr. Spock.” Call it beginner's luck, or more likely, a sign of what was to come–in2010, Ardalan shared one of his earliest studio explorations with Justin Martin, which became the foundation for the breakout hit. “Mr. Spock,” in its bizarre and booty-shaking glory, has been accredited as one of the “tracks that made Dirtybird famous,” helping to define the label's now darling reputation as a trusted source of ridiculous, off-the-wall dance floor bangers. Since, he continued to translate his deep-rooted connection to the dance floor in the studio with remixes on Toy Tonics, Play It Down, Yoshitoshi, and Dirtybird. T Williams  West London's T.Williams is one of those people, having accomplished a full sweep of merited recognition over the years. Emerging onto the house scene in 2010, T.Williams instantly marked himself as a breakthrough artist with a difference; his unique take on house music turning heads. Far from a newcomer, his path as a musical artist started in the grime scene as Dread.D. Signed at the tender age of 17 with grime anthem Invasion on Jon E Cash's Black Ops label, Williams went on to have mass success in the grime and bass world selling thousands of singles worldwide. After a five-year reign, Williams found himself veering towards the world of house music. releasing solo works on his imprint Local Action and Pattern with remixes for Maya Jane Coles, Ben Westbeech and Skream. The end of 2011 saw Williams nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ' by DJ Mag, ‘DJ Stars of 2012' by Time Out and featured in The Guardian. Two relationships came to the forefront in 2012 that propelled Williams to greater heights. The first was his weekly show on legendary London station, Rinse FM and the second, Williams' relationship with label PMR through his remix of Javeon McCarthy's ‘Lost Time'. The remix was named Record of the Week by BBC Radio 1 and supported by tastemakers Annie Mac and Fearne Cotton. From here T. signed to the label exclusively releasing his debut EP for the label in September 2012, and in the process receiving further support from BBC Radio 1. Further remixes of Mikky Ekko, Wretch 32 and Lianne La Havas followed suit, as well as his biggest to date - Disclosure's ‘Latch'. Powering dancefloors across the globe. Gaining his own monthly residency show with BBC Radio 1, 2013 ended with T. having played over 100 shows across four continents. 2017 marked the launch and release of the first collaborative EP with UK producer Julio Bashmore, via their joint independent Conch Records, a label aiming to push out more underground cross-genre music with heavy rotation from the likes of Moxie and Shy One. With an ever-expanding global tour schedule and further solo releases on the legendary NYC house label Strictly Rhythm turning heads, T.'s upward trajectory has never showed signs of slowing down. Using his technical prowess as a musician to educate the next generation of rising stars at London's respected Point Blank Music School has cemented his status as one of the UK music scene's key players.  Connect: Rave Room Podcast: https://linktr.ee/raveroompodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/raveroompodcast/message

Episode # 196 Clare Bowen & Brandon Robert Young aka "Bowen Young" discuss their incredible music, upcoming tour! With haunting and ethereal songs that masterfully delve into the depths of ferocious love, heartbreaking loss and steadfast hope, the debut album, Dangerous Love, by new duo Bowen Young unveils a unique style of music the couple has dubbed “Cinematic Americana.” Bowen Young's timeless debut record created by Clare Bowen and husband Brandon Robert Young is a multi-sensory feast. The music, produced by Sean McConnell, invokes themes painted by the duo's powerfully authentic lyrics and hypnotic harmonies. Clare, the charismatic actress who played Scarlett O'Connor in the popular show Nashville, is known as a ray of sunshine around the world. She is an empath who leads with her heart, able to communicate and translate emotions whether on stage or screen. Born in rural Australia, she moved to Music City in 2012 for the Nashville role and immediately earned respect from the city's musical leaders. She has performed with artists such as Vince Gill, Zac Brown Band, working with Grammy Award winning producers/songwriters T-Bone Burnett, Colin Linden and Buddy Miller, who became her mentors. She toured her eponymous album for sold-out crowds with Brandon in Germany, Australia, the US and UK. The pair also earned a coveted spot on Sugarland's popular “Still the Same Tour” and toured live with the Nashville cast, selling out London's O2 Arena. Brandon, who began singing at age five under the gentle guidance of his mother, had a very different upbringing and path to Nashville. In 2000, he moved from Enfield, CT, to Nashville, where he taught himself to play guitar. He worked as a courier during the day and spent his nights filling empty composition books with song after song. He spent a decade touring with music legend John Hiatt, first as percussionist and background vocalist and eventually becoming one third of The John Hiatt Trio. He worked on three of the famed artist's albums, the last of which was nominated for a Grammy in the Americana category. Brandon has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artists Emmylou Harris, Colin Linden, and Mikky Ekko. Young was also invited by John Carter Cash to finish one of his father's unpublished works for Johnny Cash Forever Words. Brandon's music has been heard in shows such as Shameless. A Million Little Things, and Nashville. It was serendipity that brought Bowen Young together in 2013, when Brandon was a last-minute replacement for Clare's no-show duet partner for her first solo set at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. They immediately discovered they had wonderful chemistry both onstage and off. Brandon proposed to Clare at the Ryman Auditorium during the couple's Grand Ole Opry set in 2015. They were married by John Carter Cash at the Cash Cabin in 2017. Website - https://www.bowenyoung.com/

We had the pleasure of interviewing BOWEN * YOUNG LIVE from The Twisted Wool Lounge at the Historic Woolworth Theatre in Nashville! Most partners, in theory, will promise the world to keep each other safe and sound, but rarely is their vow necessary in everyday practice. However, when husband and wife duo BOWEN * YOUNG—singer/songwriters Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young—found themselves in the midst of a terrifying home invasion, the pair stared down the prospect of being separated, or worse, during a very real situation. Just two days later, without sleep and lacking creativity, BOWEN * YOUNG sat down with their friend and producer Sean McConnell and shared what they'd just been through. After several hours, the glimmer of an idea took hold of Bowen, just as McConnell picked up a guitar and said, “What if it goes a little something like this?” In less than an hour, the chilling story had been shaped into a song, and “Dangerous Love” was born. “Somewhere, deep in the conversation, Clare offered up an idea that was perfectly beautiful in the moment, revolving around the most harrowing part of the whole event,” remembers Young. “...The prospect of one of us being taken away from the other, just because one cruel individual decided it should be so.”The end result is a beautifully dark love song; an ode to just how far true-lovers are willing to go for each other. “Each time we play it is cathartic and healing,” says Young. “Each time we play it we love each other a little bit more. This event was just one part of our story, but it affected us deeply, and the trauma therapy we've done to recover has been one of the best gifts we could have given ourselves and each other. We can't undo what was done to us, but we can, through spreading awareness of how important it is to take care of your mental health, strive to turn that individual's cruelty into another person's healing.”More About BOWEN * YOUNG: Bowen Young's timeless debut record created by Clare Bowen and husband Brandon Robert Young is a multi-sensory feast. Opportunities don't come from playing it safe or waiting until you become perfect and everything is right. Sometimes you have to trust it, do your absolute best, believe in yourself, bring the best work forward, and see what happens.Sometimes, the things that we think are perfect don't always turn out to be great. Sometimes, it's the gig, job, or song that you see as not ideal or unappealing that is going to push you to do the next level or the best work of your life.Great opportunities don't usually come dressed as you expect them to be, and no matter how appealing or unappealing an opportunity looks, you will never know where it can lead you until you say yes to it. Saying yes to an opportunity and giving it your best is where the magic happens. Judging opportunities and thinking of them as less than ideal is an excuse for not giving your best effort.Stop worrying about making everything perfect, and start giving your best to every opportunity. Any opportunity is great if you believe in yourself and give it the best shot.To thrive, you must be willing to take risks and be open to doing the best work you can. The worst thing you can do is shy away from a great opportunity because it doesn't seem like the perfect one. Just go for it and see what happens. You might end up having the most incredible time; if not, you will learn from it, and either way, it was worth the effort. In this episode, Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young, a husband-and-wife duo singing group, talk about how to build your career, set boundaries, and succeed as an artist and entrepreneur. “Empathy and compassion are big, and you have to hold on to them as an artist.”Snapshot of the Key Points from the Episode:[03:47] Clare and Brandon share how they became a great singing duo and, more importantly, husband and wife.[11:22] How to stop playing it safe and stepping out even when you feel it's not your ideal gig or perfect timing[15:30] What led Clare to be called for the nationals despite being shy, introverted, and coming from a small town in Australia and her experience? [19:06] Clare and Brandon's favorite and most memorable performances. [23:54] The superpowers that have helped Clare and Brandon navigate and achieve success in their career. [28:44] How do Clare and Brandon build and maintain their fan base to be successful in what they do?[38:02] How do Clare and Brandon navigate the business and creative side of their day-to-day career?[46:44] What does working from your happy place mean to Clare and Brandon?[50:20] Clare and Brandon's advice to young people starting out their career in arts and anyone who is setting out to do something greater than themselves.[57:39] The importance of rising beyond expectations and being kind to yourself. How to be yourself and recognize your uniqueness and what makes you special. On August 4th, 2013, the season premiere of Club Soda 8: Tricoro became available. It starts off with the MB countdown mix, which recaps some of the wonderful songs that came out in 2012. Due to much feedback regarding the old format of putting in album covers for navigation, I've brought them back. While you're listening to each continuous episode, the album cover will change according to the song. I hope you enjoy this, and please spread the word!!! No babies were harmed by dingos in this episode, but your guides did sit down with Australian born, Nashville resident Jared Kneale. Brandon and Jason first get a cultural lesson from Jared. Touring in Australia is way different than here in the states, and even the opportunities look a little bit different. While in his native homeland, Jared has played with "Austrialian Idols," Hillsong, and the Afro-Cuban rock band Watussi. After getting connected with some players living in Nashville, Jared booked his flight to the states only bringing some clothes and his drums. Armed with confidence and using his cajón as his business card at writers rounds he quickly started working with Rebecca St. James and Audio Adrenalin, Mikky Ekko, Dave Barnes, Matt Wertz, Sugar & the Hi-Lows, Gabe Dixon, Amy Stroup, Trent Dabbs, Jessie Baylin, Isaac Hayden, Rick Price, Jason Eskridge, amongst various other local singer/songwriters. Then they dive in on landing the gig with Grammy Award-winning artist Kacey Musgraves. "How Murica," is Jared? He passes the guides' test, then they look at what life looks like after a great gig. Jared's life today is playing and producing records, and playing gigs that keep his schedule open for session work. This episode is for drummers, touring players, session guys, and immigrants in a music city wondering what it takes to make it as a Nashville player hustling for work as a BLOOMIN' DRUMMER!

So, I've wanted to make a deep house podcast for over a year now, but I've always made excuses for not getting around to it. Well, the time's finally arrived! One of the best challenges of being a DJ is experimenting with different genres of music and this is definitely a completely different sound for me. However, it's also a sound that I love listening to so I knew I'd enjoy making it. I wanted to make a mix that you'd play while sitting by the pool, looking out over the Aegean Sea or the Hollywood Hills with a cocktail in your hand and hope in your heart. This is certainly no high-energy gym mix — it's a 180 from everything else on this page (with the exception of my "NYC Made Me Do It" podcast, which has a strong deep house section in it). It's certainly not my best mixing technically, but it's my first time doing a podcast mostly at 124 BPM. For a while towards the top I even experiment with 3 and sometimes 4 tracks playing at once. Still, I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it as well. My next high energy February podcast should be done in a week. My Upcoming Live Schedule: February 2nd – Size Sundays, Here lounge, West Hollywood February 3rd - "Vampire Academy" release party, Lure nightclub, Hollywood February 16th – Tortilla Republic, West Hollywood February 21st - 23rd, 2014 – [Elevation: Park City] (gay ski week) February 28th - Stripper Circus, Share Nightclub, Las Vegas March 23rd – Size Sundays, Here lounge, West Hollywood The Tracklist: "Thy Name," Shaylom "Warm Up," Pavel Petrov & Marten "Can't Give Up" (Chus & Ceballos Vocal Remix), Denver feat. Hey Music Lovers, Wow, it has indeed been almost two months since my last Podcast. Needless to say, I've started a new full-time job and I've been working my little behind some very long hours getting a new TV show off the ground. I'm thrilled to get back to you with my February chapter, "Love Stinks." I'm trying to get back on a once-a-month regular posting schedule. Needless to say, there's been so much great new music that I had a really tough time choosing tracks! I think the new Emili Sande (Manhattan Clique) and Olly Murs (Kat Krazy) remixes are the two tracks that are working me the hardest right now. And, of always, you'll find my signature blend of hot new tracks, classics, along with a bit of EDM (no hip hop in this set though... next one, promise!) I also have a lot of great live gigs coming up (so come out to hear me!), including: Feb. 16th -- Size at Here lounge (4 - 7 PM), West Hollywood Feb. 22nd -- Stripper Circus, Share Nightclub, Las Vegas Mar. 7th -- Out Magazine Macy's Fashion Show event Mar. 8th -- Dirty Pop, Bourbon St., San Diego Mar. 17th -- Mammoth ELEVATION gay ski weekend, Mammoth Lakes April 5th -- Dirty Pop, Micky's, West Hollywood May 19th -- Gay Men's Chorus LA, Annual gala Without further delay, your "Love Stinks" tracklisting: "Fierce" (Josh Peace Mustache Redux), AZEALIA BANKS x FRANKLIN FUENTES X DRUMS OF DEATH "Follow Running Foxes" (Zedd x Foxes x Deniz Koyu x Wynter Gordon x Youngblood Hawke), The Jane Doze "Only Imagine This City" (Starship vs. David Guetta), DJ Schmolli "A Love I Call My Own" (Original Mix), Crystal Waters, Nicola Fasano & Steve Forest "Boomerang" (Cahill Radio Edit), Nicole Scherzinger "C'mon' (Cosmic Dawn Radio Edit).
