Today, they're one of the largest Christian populations in Indonesia, with over 6 million believers. The transformation happened because someone, a German missionary named Ludwig Nommensen, decided their spiritual poverty was unacceptable. That was 190 years ago. Today, 4,473 people groups are still waiting for their Ludwig Nommensen moment. The People Group Adoption Program launches today, and here's how it works: It meets you where you are. You're not being asked to become a missionary in the field (though if God calls you to that, we'll cheer you on). You're being invited to use your current gifts, prayer, advocacy, networking, research to support those who are already called to go.

In this Bible Story, we witness the tragic yet noble death of James. He would be the first apostle to become a martyr, and he would not be the last. As persecution of the church increases, so does the risk of imprisonment. Yet death is no match for Jesus, nor is it a threat to those who believe in him. This story is inspired by Acts 12. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Acts 12:7 from the King James Version.Episode 227: As men and women ran from burning buildings to escape death, they were captured by King Herod and imprisoned. These Christians were the only thing standing between him and power. James, one of the Lord’s twelve disciples, remained in the city preaching about the restoration that Jesus brings. While he was preaching, Herod sent guards to kill him where he stood. A public death sent a message from Herod that he is King, not Jesus. But this persecution could not stop Jesus or His followers. Even when Peter was captured and imprisoned, God made a way for him to escape death.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. What if God's judgment was never against you - but for you? In this episode of Two Pastors and a Mic, Cory and Channock unpack one of the most misunderstood topics in Christianity: God's judgment and wrath. Drawing from Cory's eBook How to Make Sense of God's Judgment and Wrath, they explore how God's justice isn't retribution - it's restoration. You'll hear:⚖️ How an adoption story reframed Cory's entire view of judgment
In this heartfelt and deeply personal episode, I open up about one of life's most difficult questions: Why do bad things happen to good people? As I record this, I'm navigating my own moment of vulnerability—battling a cough and mild fever while reflecting on what it means to stay faithful when life doesn't feel fair. Through a tender conversation with my visiting mom, I explore the tension between human suffering and divine love, and how faith can sustain us even when the answers aren't clear. So often, we fall into the trap of believing that illness or hardship is a form of punishment from God—but that couldn't be further from the truth. I share how I've learned to see these moments not as evidence of God's absence, but as reminders of His presence. We live in a broken world, yes—but God's love never breaks. If you've ever questioned why pain touches those who do good, or felt disappointed by unanswered prayers, this episode will remind you of one powerful truth: you never walk alone. Even in hardship, grace is moving, healing is unfolding, and love is holding you.
Do you fear the storms of life? Jesus demonstrates His divine authority by calming a fierce storm, leaving His disciples in awe of His power over nature. In this Bible Story, Saul and Barnabas team up to advance the gospel in Antioch. Saul is still learning about what it truly means to walk with Jesus, and Barnabas acts as a brilliant mentor and friend. This story is inspired by Acts 11:19-30. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Acts 11:26 from the King James Version.Episode 226: As more men and women came to faith in Jerusalem, more were beaten and thrown into jail. Because of this, many believers scattered across the Roman Empire setting as far as Cyprus and Antioch for safety. In these cities, the gospel began to break out from being a Jewish-only message, now Greeks and Hellenists were receiving Jesus too! The attitude of the believers in the city was so helpful that people began to refer to these followers as little Christs, a name that has stuck with us for generations.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. Reach Out: Please include your email and I will get back to you. Thanks!Good morning! Thank you for taking a few minutes to listen. If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)YouTube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comJames 5A strong warning is given to the wealthy who acquire riches through injustice and selfishness. Their fortunes will diminish, and the cries of those they have wronged have reached the ears of the Lord. Believers are called to be patient in suffering, waiting for the Lord with the same diligence as a farmer awaiting rain. They are reminded of Job's endurance and the Lord's compassion. Integrity matters. Thus, complaining against one another is discouraged, and individuals are encouraged to let their yes be yes and their no be no. Prayer is emphasized as a powerful tool in every situation, whether in suffering, joy, or sickness. Those who stray from the truth should be gently guided back, for turning a sinner from error saves a soul and brings great spiritual restoration. Christians must remain patient during difficult times, trusting that God sees how others mistreat us and that He will act on our behalf. It is easy to complain or lose heart, but we are called to endure with faith. Like Job, we can hold on even when we do not comprehend everything. We are also encouraged to pray in every season. God invites us to communicate with Him throughout every stage and circumstance of our lives. Our prayers are significant. Furthermore, we have a duty to one another. When someone begins to drift from the truth, we are called to respond with love and care. God uses our words and actions to help others return and to bring healing and hope. Loving Father, You see every burden we carry and every moment we wait. Grant us patience when life feels long and heavy. Help us to trust that You are working, even when we cannot see it. Teach us to pray with honesty and faith, knowing that You hear us and care for every need. Show us how to care for those who are hurting and reach out to those who are wandering. May our words bring healing and our actions reflect Your compassion. Let our lives be full of faith, endurance, and love as we walk closely with You each day. Thought Questions: Life is often unfair, and sometimes the powerful oppress the weak. How do you stay patient and controlled when others treat you poorly? How vital is communal prayer to you? Have you had elders pray over you? Why should you ask faithful people to pray with you and for you? What is your responsibility if a fellow believer is caught in sin? How do you determine the best way to approach and help them repent and turn to God?

Michy Morillo opens up about her experience being pushed into the street life at a young age and how quickly things escalated. As a teenager, her house arrest was revoked, and she was sent to juvenile prison, where she spent years navigating a system that was not built to help kids, but to break them. Michy shares what it was like to be locked away so young, separated from family, and forced to adapt to an environment where survival came before everything else. She talks about the emotional and psychological impact of incarceration — acting out, being isolated, and learning to shut down her feelings just to make it through. But what stands out in Michy's story is not just the pain — it's the transformation that came after. She explains how she eventually found purpose, rebuilt her identity from the ground up, and committed herself to helping the youth who are walking the same path she once did. #LockedInWithIanBick #JuvenilePrison #RealStories #StreetLife #SystemFailedMe #LifeLessons #RedemptionJourney #changeyourlife Thank you to ExpressVPN for sponsoring this episode: Secure your online data TODAY by visiting https://www.expressvpn.com/lockedin to find out how you can get up to four extra months. Welcome to the Christmas series. We begin at the very beginning, when mankind walked in unity with God. When that unity was painfully severed, a promise of hope was given. Sign up for special devotionals at StoriesoftheMessiah.com. As we dive deeply into iconic Bible heroes' enthralling narratives, we find more than just stories of faith and miracles. We discover a recurrent theme, a spiritual undertone that connects each tale to the grandeur of the Gospel. They're not just standalone legends; they're threads in a divine tapestry, weaving a story that foreshadows Jesus Christ, the ultimate hero, the promised Messiah who brings light to the darkest corners of history. In this Bible Story, Peter discovers that the kingdom of God is expanding to more than just the Jews. Through his interactions with Cornelius, Peter begins to learn that God was going to extend his reach to all the nations. This story is inspired by Acts 10:1-11:18. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Acts 11:9 from the King James Version.Episode 225: In Caesarea, there was a centurion named Cornelius. He was a good man and a God-fearing man, but he was also a Roman gentile. He prayed to God daily and sought to do good to those who were less fortunate. His prayers were heard by God, and God told him in a dream to send for a man named Peter who was staying in Joppa. At the same time, Peter was praying and in a vision experienced a message from God about calling anything unclean or common. When the men sent by Cornelius arrived, he went with them, and when the whole party arrived at the house of Cornelius, Peter saw what God was trying to tell him. He then obediently preached the message of Jesus to Cornelius’ entire household. All of Cornelius’ family and friends came to believe in Jesus and were baptized.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast.
